I had been served by Lilly, she was great, sociable, hard working, informative, made us laugh and the food was lovely, was taken out by my daughter as a mothers day treat and we had a lovely time, Lilly even made recommendations on drink and food, she was also attentive as my daughter had allergies to fish and nuts, when we arrived sat 29th mar 8.pm this place was packed and the staff were all working hard serving customers, clearing tables, bringing out food, the guy doing the drinks and the other guy bringing trays of drinks to the tables were doing a fab job also. Would definitely go back again, well done to all on shift this day and especially Lilly 👏

Came here yesterday evening with my mum for Mother’s Day. We were served by a lovely young woman called Mary Jane who made our evening 10x better! She was extremely helpful and welcoming. I don’t normally leave reviews but our server was too amazing not too. Thank you so much and we will be returning very soon. Thank you Mary Jane!

Hello Bella Italia Management Team and potential customers reading this. Firstly, I would like to point out the food quality is the quality you would expect at Bella Chain restaurant. That said, at least the attention to detail doesn’t go missing at this location. Basics are met, staff are amazingly happy to help always and the food is hot which isn’t always the norm. Two stand out people that really impressed me were, Lil who attended my family…. She was truly epic on a grand scale. A wee lad called Liam also came across our table and he was clearly training but a credit to the company. His smile was worth the bill itself. 10 stars and well done team!! I’ll see you soon. 👊

Top service always from the team, Alex, Lewis, Abbie & Rosie (sorry if we forgot to mention a few people chefs of course fantastic as well) go above and beyond to provide good service. My old man and I sometimes fancy a Long Island ice tea, not on the menu but they can make it anyway! Lovely bunch of people one of the only chain places we still go to that feels like a family service. My grandad is bad on his legs and is slow walking on crutches they take as much time as we need to slowly walk to the table and not go steaming off like other places have in the past. 10/10 every time Thanks guys

Our hostess, Andrea was amazing! We came for my sons 16th birthday and she went above and beyond to make it a memorable meal! For a table of 11 of us, she remembered everyone's order and made everyone feel special! Food was amazing, atmosphere was great. Would definitely come here again!!! Thank you all!!

We had a really good and experience today, even though it was incrediblely busy we didn't have to wait long for our food, our waitress Dom did an outstanding job at making us feel welcome and at home she made it a very enjoyable experience.

We dine at Bella Italia at least once, sometimes twice a week. Excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. Alex and the team are excellent ambassadors to the "Bella" brand.

Bella Italia is one of my fave restaurants!! But Lily well and truly made the evening so special and enjoyable!!! She was attentive and enthusiastic brightening up the an atmosphere instantly. will be sure to be back here because of her!! The food was delicious as always!!

Visited Bella Italia with my family and 4 children. We got served by a waitress named Dom, she was very friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble for her. Just had the best lasagne ever and the cookie dough was to die for. Rosie was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Will definitely be returning here soon.

Fantastic food and even better service from our waitress Dom.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and this was the only place we could find around Castlegate that could seat us without a booking. Staff were friendly and accommodating and no real complaints with the food but it all just seemed a bit gimmicky. If I'm in an Italian chain, I don't need kids climbing all over a Vespa to remind me where I am. If you're looking for Italian food from a big chain it's no cheaper than Zizzi or Ask and they both have better menus and a better ambience in my opinion.

Visited for a children's pizza party, great idea. our host worked incredibly hard, especially dealing with 6-year-olds. Kitchen staff prepared food, but he single handedly arranged tables for 10 children. Firstly, for pizza creation, then cleared tables and then served at ice cream parlour for the 10 children. Party was a hit.

Alex was very helpful and pleasant and made the visit a lovely experience.

I was incredibly looking forward to my visit to Bella Italia. I purposely ate NO breakfast in order to enjoy the food even more, little did I know it will be my last time I ever eat such thing, almost put me off food entirely. my friends carbonara, spag bol, calzone was INCREDIBLY SALTY. It felt like I was taking a dip in the sea. The pizza crust I tried was rock solid. On top of that the BBQ tasted like it had been microwave cooked with little to no flavour at all. The wait for the food was quite long too, I could have done so much else in that time. The pizza looked so unappealing, look at the picture below they are accurate representation. not coming again. I’d rather starve.

Came here with our 2 year old for Valentine’s Day. The service from Lilly was amazing, she interacted with our little girl which always makes a visit anywhere better. The robot cat brought our food over which made my girls day! The food was delicious as always and the cocktails were nice! 100% recommend if you have little ones

I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, and when our mains arrived, they were missing our side orders of garlic bread and fries. To make matters worse, my Spaghetti Bolognese was served cold. After raising the issue with staff, a fresh plate was prepared for me, but it took 15 minutes for it to arrive—and still, my partner had nearly finished his meal by the time mine was ready. It was particularly frustrating as we had hoped to enjoy our meal together, but instead, we were eating separately on a special occasion. When the new Spaghetti Bolognese arrived, it was greasy, oily, and looked completely different from the first plate, which had been dry. The meat was fatty, and the entire dish was far from enjoyable. To top it off, we weren’t offered any form of compensation, such as a refund or discount, which made the experience even more disappointing. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against ordering the Spaghetti Bolognese, and I would be cautious about dining here in general.

The food was amazing couldn't fault it, we were served by Dom, she looked after us front start to finish, we went for the set menu which has plenty of choice, we had spicy sausage and gamberoni , would recommend these.

I recently visited Bella Italia and had a fantastic experience! The service was excellent, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a meal. And the food was simply amazing – every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. I highly recommend Bella Italia for anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Took my wife there for a pre-Valentines meal (we’re both working on the 14th 🙄). Food was great, staff were brilliant and until then we’d never seen a serving robot in a restaurant! We’re already planning on coming here again for birthdays and with friends!

For the money the food is good. A long way away from the old “Bella Pasta” days. Staff were lovely with my mother in law who has dementia and when I left my phone behind they kept it safe.

Came for a meal with my two young children tonight food was lovely but was more impressed with our waitress Megan. She was very helpful and also very kind when it came to being on my own with 2 little children. It’s not often you have staff go out of their way to help you and this was greatly appreciated for me dining alone with my baby’s. She made it a very pleasant experience. Thank you megan x

Spicy sausage pasta was absolutely awful. I like spicy food but what was the equivalent to around 4-5 chillis in a small pasta bowl was ridiculous. A chef that thinks about quantity and not flavour

Honestly the only reason it gets a star is 1. Because I can’t give 0 and 2. Our Italian server was absolutely brilliant. She was so run down by the place. We arrived at the place 5 minute prior to our booking and eventually ordered 20 minutes later, however, it then took over AN HOUR for our food to come while we sat there and watched people who came in after us eat before. We then also decided to add a pizza to our order 30 mins later as we were starving and so that would come whenever it was ready, we didn’t need it the same time. 15 minutes later our added pizza comes but no sign of our meals. I then ask our server what’s going on and she apologised and guaranteed our food would be over in 8 minutes. So then it comes up to an hour since we ordered, we finally get our food. Spoke to the manager on duty about how disappointed we were in the time it took for our food to be delivered. Then to be given the excuse that one of the ovens and fryers had broken today, which we weren’t aware of. But more important it made no sense as everybody else had their food and we even received our second pizza first which clearly just shows they forgot about our order. P.s. Dom (I think that’s her name sorry if incorrect) you were absolutely amazing and deserve a raise xx

Alex (Ali G) what a guy. Best customer service I've seen in a long time. He is a great waiter and he deserves to be manager. As for the "manager" Lilly. She didn't let Alex have a laugh and was a bit boring haha but she said she's a 40 year old so fair enough I ain't judging! Anyway food was 10/10 and will come again. Thanks Alex!

Staff great. Very attentive. Bruschetta lovely and had goats cheese ravioli. Portions just about right size. Expresso martini cocktail nice but on the small side. Quite expensive for what we had to eat. Downside for me was the screaming kids running around.

For a mid range italian restaurant, the food is very nice and at a fair price. The staff are welcoming, and the service is always great. It's a lovely, family, italian chain restaurant.

Fantastic deal on currently, £5 pasta. How can you go wrong?? Fantastic staff as well, especially Matt who went above and beyond to make our lunch enjoyable.

Came in for food today was 3 of us around 2 pm pasta was probably the best we've had on a while. I asked the waitress if it was a new chef and they said no! I think her name was Linda. We was well impressed
