The best restaurants serving Italian food in South West

Booked 2 weeks in advanced, travelled from cornwall to eat here just to turn up and find it closed with no notification of this fact. Not happy!

Went in on a whim as I saw the lunchtime deal. Was expecting a ok ISH small pizza, ( think the deal was £12 or £14 ish for a pizza and soft drinks) but the pizza was MASSIVE and absolutely delicious!!! I highly recommend this place. Pizza cooked fresh in less than 10 mins from ordering. Staff were friendly and the Smoked Almonds were incredible...... Thank you and I will be returning again this week 😅

Visited Botteginos today, the food was lovely, hot and brought out quickly. The vegetarian options are good although maybe some pizza choices with different cheeses on (goats, blue etc) may give the options a bit more of a variety. The kids menu was good and it seemed nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress was Rimi and her attention to detail was brilliant. She ran around for us and made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant, even though it was busy. She even realised it was my birthday and got the rest of the staff to unexpectedly sing to me. So all in all, the food was delicious and the service was 10/10. Thank you. We will return.

A very authentic and relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant and Gianni’s is easily the best Italian food I have experienced. The mushroom risotto is amazing and my husband was very happy with his steak! My son loves to come here for his birthday especially and we were looked after very well by the very attentive staff. This is our third time here as a family and we definitely will be back again and again! 😊

Had a couple of deliveries from here & these pizzas are amazing. Fresh & tasty, generous toppings. The garlic mayo dip is a must accessory & fries great- crispy on outside / soft in middle. Service friendly & on time delivery.

The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the pizza. The menu was not huge, but with plenty of choices for everyone and the portion sizes were big. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, the decor is simple but effective. The waiters did not come around often but always someone was available to call and service was fast. Absolutely will come again.

Just watched the chef serve my pasta by hand. Three handfuls of linguine onto my plate. I asked the waiter why he was not using a serving utensil and the response was, his hands are probably clean! Two Cesar salads looked like they were straight out of Tesco bag. Waited an age between starters and mains even though we had a baby with us. Extremely poor food hygiene and mediocre service. Two bruschetta and two cedar salads and two lagers £80? Now gone somewhere to get my main. What was a nice evening has been ruined by Gossip Westbourne.

It was our go to place for the few days there, lovely coffee, great staff and there was an amazing array of sweet and savoury food. The soup we had was lovely, and the fresh bread was wonderful. The service was superb and actually reasonably priced.

Wow, what a brilliant experience. Upon arrival, greeted with very happy faces from the staff members, who kindly seated us and were very approachable to our needs all afternoon. The prices are very affordable to the quality, reflecting the taste, portion and quality of the food which is a big 5/5 on taste. Service was impeccable, staff members came to service at our need and would make sure that out experience was the best it could be, treating us very well. A wide range of Italian food, starters and sides with a huge variety on the drinks menu. Would highly recommend if looking for a place to eat which satisfies your taste buds and your wallet. Would 100% be willing to go again. Atmosphere was also fulfilling, playing quiet music to match the restaurant which design is grand and almost majestical in its setting. Absolutely amazing.

Truly, from the bottom of my heart, this restaurant is one of the best places I have ever eaten, here’s why — firstly the main server (Bulgarian / Italian) is the nicest, kindest, funniest man I have ever been served food from. He made us laugh, his service was second to none and he was the sole reason we came back 2 nights in a row, secondly THE FOOD! It’s rustic, it’s fresh, it’s like eating in an Italian restaurant in a sleepy Italian village. We felt like part of their family. EAT HERE !!!!
