Shell fish in sea food pasta was mushy. Think it had been frozen and then over cooked. Used to go regularly when it was the coffee club and now nowhere near as good.

Breakfast are huge, so opted for a children's breakfast which was more than enough

I had linguine picante and my partner had spaghetti with mussels. The pasta or the sauce didn't have a defined taste other than bland and watery. A bit overcooked, as well. The portion sizes compensated for the lack of taste so we didn't come away hungry. I asked for a croissant to go with my coffee. The croissant came out of a bag and was heated in the microwave. I rate the croissant 1 on a scale 1- 10, purely because it existed. The young waitress ladies were nice and helpful.

Staff were pleasant but rather concerned as my husband was extremely unwell after eating here recently. Really feeling it must have been food poisoning as it was really sudden & severe.

Went here for lunch today, my wife had the ham omelette chips and salad whilst I had what was loosely termed as a tomato and cheese sandwich. The bread seemed like it had just been defrosted there was no butter on slices the cheese of what little there was had been melted on the bread and the one tomato had been cut into quarters and slapped in between to make up this so called sandwich. It seems like a nice place but not for sandwiches.

A pleasant Saturday evening meal, although the restaurant was far from full. My guess (had passed earlier in the day) is that it caters more for breakfast / lunch? One of our party had been here a couple of times (before and after the chnage of hands) and noted that whilst there had been a change in menu, he liked the new one! Service was good and the food all arrived promptly. For starters we had; avocado salmon salad, mushroom trifolati, sautteed mushrooms and a prawn cocktail. Then, for main course, we had; 2 x sea bass, chicken pamiginana and a linguine mare. Everybody reported that they enjoyed their meals. The desert menu was quite limited and basically involved a variety of cheesecakes. They were fine, but I would suggest some further depth is needed to improve the menu here and is why I have marked at '4' rather than higher. Including a bottle of house white (was a Pinot Grigio), a beer and a tip this came out to £37+ per head, which I think is reasonable in Bournemouth!

Greeted very quickly with Menus and order taken within 5 minutes. Avocado Smasher on Sourdough was very nice good amount of Avocado on lovely bread with very good bacon and a couple pieces of halloumi. Partner has Smash and eat, which had eggs instead of the bacon and halloumi. Very nice food. Did not table next to us, guy arrived was ignored for 15 minutes so he left, not good.

Been recommended to try this restaurant. Sat outside & order a full English breakfast & coffee. Good service arrived promptly. The breakfast in general was good, just a few small niggles. The eggs weren't cooked on top & unset - sunny side up. I prefer my eggs "over easy". The hash brown was slightly overcooked. On the whole breakfast was nice.

Brunch in the sun here today. Staff are so warm and friendly, the service was really quick and we all had lovely breakfasts. And all reasonably priced despite great quality. Would definitely recommend.

Food was pretty good, huge omelette with nice chips. Pancakes a little disappointing, meagre amount of maple syrup. Food orders mixed up, and they completely forgot one of us, who was left empty-plated whilst the rest of us reluctantly finished ours before the final one arrived. I think they may be fairly new at it, but they seem nice and so I hope they can get things together and make a go of it.

Our visit to 44 Bam.Boo started well with a lovely welcome from the owner. We hadn't been here for a while as the previous owner had been so rude and unwelcoming. We both ordered the 'fry up' for breakfast which was extremely tasty, especially the bacon. The coffee was very good too. The evening menu looked interesting and we intend to return to try some of the delicious-sounding dishes. The ambiance and lighting were much more relaxing than the previous design.

Hot chocolates and cake.. a simple order… Took ages…. Cakes were microwaved to disguise that they were stale, the base was rock hard, crusty; old. The hot chocolates were not hot, nearly warm. Used to be a fabulous place under the old ownership.

Arrived just after mid-day and was delighted to be offered both the lunch & breakfast menu. Opted for full English & smashed avocado, both great portion size and cooked perfectly. Smoothies were lovely & the service was attentive and friendly. Was tempted by the expansive selection of the full menu but had our hearts set on a breakfast. So much so, will be hopefully be calling in this evening for dinner. We have eaten here numerous times over the past few years and think the owners have not only maintained the restaurant's reputation but improved it with the new menu.

Great restaurant to get a hot meal after 3pm on a Saturday. We had 2No omelettes - cheese and ham plus cheese and mushroom with chips plus 2No desserts and 2No teas. The desserts were apple crumble with ice cream which were delicious. Omelettes were also very enjoyable. This was a good option for us as we tried to find a place to have a hot lunch in Westbourne where there were limited options at 3pm in the afternoon.

Popped in for lunch on a whim as we were passing. Really friendly staff who accommodated all the dietary needs of our party. Food was full of flavour. We’ll be back!

Loved the food and service here. We had a shakshouka and a full Mediterranean brezze, which was basically a full breakfast, but make it mediterranean. Every item served was so fresh that it has become the benchmark for us when we look for mediterranean places to eat at. If it weren't so far from where we live, we'd go there every other week for a breakfast like that🥲

Well, where do I ever begin. Have been a regular visitor to the coffee club for well over 10 years, the food used to be exceptional, service amazing, and atmosphere absolutely buzzing. Visited yesterday excited to have one of the amazing breakfasts there, ever took a few friends along for the ride. The food was diabolical, and that's being polite. The sausages were the cheapest, maize filled sausages I have ever had the displeasure of sampling, a rookie cost cutting mistake. The cherry tomatoes had been shown zero love and were cold. Literally a sprinkling of poorly cooked mushrooms, a greasy deep fried hashbrown, again cheap, minging. The eggs...dear lord, they'd been shown the frying pan, the whites were completely raw on top, they were horrendous. My tea was served with a bag...in a percolator, weird. Really really sad that this place has gone so far down hill. It used to busy, it was dead quiet for a Saturday morning, I can't imagine how disappointed the local elderly regularly visitors must be.

Stopped here for lunch, and will eat here again. The food was lovely, freshly cooked and tastes great. Great coffee, Friendly kind staff. Recommended

Our meal in the relaxed atmosphere here was most enjoyable. Our king prawn starter was superb and our filet mignon main course was cooked to perfection. All served with delicious sauces. All in all a wonderful evening and we were made very welcome.

We went for a late light lunch at 2pm; only one other table occupied. The waitress was delightful, helpful and friendly. We ordered coffees and a sandwich each, from a rather limited menu. The coffee arrived, hot and most enjoyable, and we finished it before our sandwiches arrived. Eventually, the sandwiches turned up, with a littlewilted saladon the side. I have no idea what the rolls were made from but just one bite got me thinking it was akin bird seed, dry and crumbly with dry little filling. My son's was pretty similar so he went to have a word with the waitresses, who immediately wanted to put things right, but I had an appointment at 3pm and it was now 2.40... she said they'd be quick but at 2.55 I left, without my sandwich, asking my son to request it be made 'to go' as could not wait any longer. They did eventually turn up, pretty much as before! My son, in despair, politely refused them again, saying we'd enjoyed the coffee but that was it. These sandwiches were £9 and £10 + each!!! Shameful!!!

Absolutely shocking. We were a group of 4. We had 3 starters one main meal and a bottle of wine. The green bean salad was tasteless. The total cost was £97 . I would never go again. I would advise anyone to avoid this place if you want value for money

We visit here often and love it as a family. They are with us with care and love on all our special occasions, we had an indescribable night with a wonderful chef with his renewed menu that you should definitely try. We definitely recommend it.

One of the great places to visit in Westbourne. Friendly service and we have never been disappointed since we changed owners last year. If you haven't tried it yet, make a reservation now and try it. ♥️

This is a restaurant that does justice to Mediterranean cuisine. When we went this time, the menu was renewed and full of great seafood. The price range is the same as last year and you will not be surprised if you come in large groups. We definitely recommend it for your special occasions. We will be back for Christmas evening

Would put no stars if I could. Used to love this place and come in here often (as you can see from my previous review), but I will never return after the rude service we experienced. Very poor and disappointing. We arrived and asked the member of staff at the bar if we could bring our small dog in. She said yes and said to sit where you like. We sat down, the waitress passed us menus, and we took our coats off etc. Then a male member of staff came over and said we would need to move to the back of the restaurant because of the dog, despite having already asked if we could bring her in. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and letting us stay, they made the whole situation very awkward and uncomfortable and proceeded to stare at us oddly whilst we were leaving making me feel very uncomfortable that I even told the man he was being weird. We come into bamboo a lot for breakfasts and it’s my go to place whenever my friends visit, but we will vote with our wallets and never return

Went here for lunch in October and it’s was just fine. Came back for another lunch in November to find the menu completely revamped. They’ve tried to turn a nice cafe into fine dining, it just doesn’t work. £20 for a handful of pesto pasta, it was nice but a complete rip off. With other good places to eat in Westbourne this place won’t last long unless it reverts to the old menu. The funniest part was when I ordered the waitress asked how hungry I was because what I ordered was a very small portion, sounds like even the staff aren’t on board with this change!

I was so excited to try 44 bamboo for breakfast with my other half. I left unfortunately bitterly disappointed, I ordered the ‘Mediterranean Breeze’ which consists of: Turkish style spread with two eggs, garlic beef spicy sausage, olives, baby tomatoes, sliced avocado, fruit & mixed salad with feta cheese, grilled halloumi & honey topped with walnuts served with sourdough bread & cheese filled pastry. Costing £12.90 The breakfast I was served didn’t contain: beef spicy sausage, sliced avocado, halloumi and no topping of walnuts. All of the pricier ingredient’s. I didn’t bring it up with the staff, to me it wasn’t just a simple mistake, the breakfast was not a mistake for something else on the menu, as there was nothing else that matched up on the menu with it. In my opinion that is a business trying to be sneaky and save money, not good practice and comes across like plain greed, leaving this customer feeling upset & unsatisfied. We were surprised that with a name like Bamboo this restaurant was not Asian but more Mediterranean. It was lovely. I had a fabulous mixed breakfast with fruit olives poached eggs cheese, Avocado and toast and honey. It was wonderfully fresh and I enjoyed every mouthful. The staff were informative and very helpful. We’ll certainly be back.

Booked a table for 8.30 the starter and main meals were lovely. The staff were lovely but I was not offered a dessert or coffee after our main meal which was disappointing. The staff were busy closing up around us for a 10pm finish.

Wow Wow Wow. We took my Dad for his 90th Birthday here with my Mum who is in a wheelchair. We went on a Sunday lunchtime/afternoon. The service was simply fabulous, the food exquisite and we had a wonderful celebration. The cost was so reasonable too. Do not hesitate to visit this lovely restaurant in Westbourne. We loved it so much that we returned the following Saturday for dinner in the evening, we sat outside and it was divine,

Disinterested service, lacklustre luke warm food, tough chicken and each course came with identical sauce and presentation. And the drain flies OMG!

Due to the nature of my travels I have breakfast out at least three times a week, and visit a range of places, from mobile snack kiosks to first class restaurants. Bam.Boo is the best on two counts ———- Best Breakfast and best price! Their ‘Briti-shh breakfast is two eggs, two excellent rashers of back bacon, two sausages, a field mushroom, small tomatoes on the vine, baked beans, hash browns and toast. All freshly cooked and delicious! Plus, if you go before 1100, a free cup of coffee. Nice surroundings and efficient friendly service. Well worth a visit.

I've titled this review 'What a find' but I admit a couple of friends dragged me here a few weeks prior to this visit and I was 'knocked out' by the ultra friendly service, and especially the quality of the food. Bagging our friends' home while they were galivanting abroad, I was the one dragging my poor wife to this - to her - unknown restaurant in a hitherto unknown area, and it was a delight to witness her echoing my previous surprised reaction to the food. She loved her Sicilian prawns, followed by Venice Ocean (yes, she likes sea food), 'though didn't notice her usual menu favourite, Seafood Risotto and I enjoyed the amazing Fragrant Thai mussels, followed by Beef Stroganoff. Her wine and my beer were fab, and my coffee as good as any 'coffee house', so I earned my brownie points that memorable evening, taking my child bride (of 50+ years) to somewhere she actually liked, and to which she wants to return! Thank you to the lovely staff, for adding the essential ingredient of good natured service, rather rare in today's UK I feel, and for providing reasonably priced (catch the menu online via 44BAM.BOO) tasty food. We'll be back.

First visit to this cafe in Westbourne and we were really impressed. We received a friendly welcome and attentive service and the breakfast was excellent. There is a lot of variety on the breakfast menu with some Turkish specialities alongside the traditional cooked breakfasts so we will definitely go back again to try something different

Im sorry to say that our visit here was very disappointing. Menus were already on the table but mine had no middle section which meant i only had a breakfast menu which had already finished. Also the special lunch menu wasn't given so i had to ask for it. The drinks menu had no beers on it but there were beers available which i found strange. After ordering another waitress then brought us menu's and we said weve already ordered. The starters arrived but we still had no cutlery which we had to ask for. I ordered tomato and mozzarella salad which was ok although the tomato was in chunks between slices of mozzarella. I then ordered a cajun chicken burger with chips. When it came it was giant chicken nuggets and chips. Because my friends had their meal i said its fine just put them in a burger bun. They did this but the nuggets were not nice and were definately not cajun. I only ate one. I had a salad roll and even the chips were soggy and not very nice. The manager was very polite and said he would take my meal off the bill but i was still charged £5.95 for a mozzarella salad. It was a shame but i wouldn't go back there

I have had a number of breakfasts here and will always come back. A warm & inviting restaurant with a small terrace to the side, which I love. Always a joy. I have also had evening meals where they have tailored their menu around my particular likes with fantastic results. I believe a must in Westbourne.

Not Coffee Club, breakfast below average for price. Good service, nice people, but sausage inedible and bacon barely cooked. Toast was just normal white sliced bread. Pity, we used to love this place....

Probably one of the worst high street restaurants I have visited! This place replaced the coffee club and I had high hope for it but I could of got better food at a weather spoons and for half the price I paid! The carbonara wasn’t cooked properly, my other half’s burger was so greasy, it was like it was cooked on a market! To top the whole experience my daughter ordered chicken nuggets and chips, normally in a restaurant they would do fresh chicken but what she got was bird eye chicken nuggets which we could have just cooked at home. My conclusion this place is overpriced and the food definitely needs some improvement!
