Good food, good atmosphere, and fabulous staff. What a find ! We cannot fault this lovely restaurant the food really is exceptional, I doubt that you would get better in Italy ! Our waiter and waitress were smiley friendly and nothing was too much trouble . We loved it so much we went back the next day to eat here . We highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed. Went for my daughters birthday and she said the lasagne was the best she'd ever had. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Also cheesy garlic bread to die for.

The food was good, but the menu was kind of limited. The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was a little flat, but that might have been just the night we were there. The restaurant was full but filled with couples when we visited that made for a subdued atmosphere. All in all, I liked it and would eat here again.

Best Italian in Bournemouth. The food is so freshly cooked and delicious. Service is excellent with the very best staff. This restaurant has been over 40 years in Bournemouth and is as good as ever.

I had the pleasure of eating here, and I wasn’t disappointed. What a very nice independent restaurant, the food was fantastic and great service to go with it. I would highly recommend and be visiting again when I am next in the area.

Literally the blandest pasta dish and looked nothing like the picture on deliveroo. I had barely any sauce on my pasta. Would not recommend.

This was probably one of the worst experiences I've ever seen or been a part of. We booked for our friends stag night we chose this as place as the stag and his dad and his brother are from Italy. We got there, and at first, it was OK. All smiles and laughter granted the stag was a little intoxicated, but it was enjoyment, not volatile. The table ordered a round of beers on tap, and well, it all went downhill from there. They tasted like vinegar, not beer. And it wasn't just us it was other tables as well. So we complained, and they stated we still had to pay for the beers even though not one of us was able to finish a pint due to the taste. Eventually, they granted that if we could at least pay for half of the round, and then we can order the bottled version. We were happy with that understanding that they needed to cover their over heads. Then meals started coming came out and they were nice only one complaint but it was very, very minor so we didn't think it was worth bothering them with this. Well, as everyone was in a cheery mood, we thought we would prank the waiter and say he wasn't worth a tip even though we had put money together to give him cash at the end. So, as we all started paying our share or the bill. The waiter started getting hostle towards the stag, and his dad and another older member of the group. For no reason other than him not thinking he was getting a tip started slating the stag, hoping that his marriage would end miserably. He was extremely nasty and vile for no reason other than a little bit of silly string on the floor that he was so unhappy about. Saying it was a large mess and that he would have to clean it up and not get his service tip. Then, I turned to one of the older guys stating, "What are you going to do? You old man, you ypu can't do anything, so get out of our restaurant. Not knowing this guy is an EX Door supervisor 🙄 then when another member was happy to give the waiter his card, the waiter scanned it and then threw the card across the room. Luckily the shop owner next door and my self and a few others from the party managed to separate everyone and avoid it from exploding also not nowing that one of the cards what was thrown across the restaurant was of a police officer and never apologised to any of us. The worst thing about this whole situation was if only they had waited until the last payment was paid and they would love to be tip very, very generously bit he was too hot headed to even wait. It was such a shame, too, as we had laughs with the female waitress and one of the other tables who agreed that the waiter was out of order.

Delightful, unassuming, independent restaurant. I had the spaghetti carbonara, which was done just right. My sister had the fish, which she very much enjoyed. Bruschetta starter, mains, dessert and a decent bottle of wine came in at under £40 a head. Service was friendly without being overfamiliar and efficient without being rushed. Highly recommended.

Service really slow. 30 mins to get a drink on arrival and then only after chased up. Room temp white wine! Very poor quality house wine. Pizzas ok. Food and drink struggles to match prezzo - which is no high bar!! Seems to rely on tourists.

We recently attended here, the staff were lovely and accommodating. The restaurant is small but atmospheric. The penne Motradini is just fantastic! Portions could be slightly bigger but the taste was out of this world!

We came as a largish family group with children and someone who needs gluten free food. We were easily accommodated. The food was straightforward good Italian food, we all enjoyed our food and it was reasonably priced. A really nice place to go if you are in the area.

We were only in Bournemouth for one night and we chose this restaurant as it was very close to the Premier Inn and could walk there. It felt like a genuine Italian restaurant in every way, the decor is relaxed and the food and service were excellent. We got there early and within half an hour it was pretty full up.

We had the pleasure of eating here and what a great choice it was! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and had us seated promptly. The chef was happy to accommodate our request to mix different types of pasta with sauces and the chicken Milanese was delicious. The food was delicious and although they had run out of lasagne dishes this did not ruin our experience. They compensate for the lack of a child's menu by offering a half portion (half price) which was a generous size. We enjoyed a bottle of rose and the relaxed intimate ambience was the perfect way to spend an evening. I would happily recommend La Piccola Italia if you're looking for good traditional Italian food.

A really good Italian restaurant. Great friendly service and excellent Italian food. All at a very competitive price. If you want good food, good service and a great friendly atmosphere head to La Picolla Italia. Its our go to place in Bournemouth.

Dined in this evening with no plans and these guys made my evening fabulous. Ordered a pizza and a starter, tasted sooo freshhh and yummmm. Will dine in often as I live a street away. Undoubtedly The Best in Bournemouth!

Exquisite and exceptional food.

Though they were busy, they accommodated us, we were in for a quick dinner before a show at the Old Fire Station. Pizza and risotto were delicious.

Lovely little local Italian restaurant - as it states on the board outside oldest in Bournemouth apparently! And boy does it show, we only had pizzas but they were outstanding. Super authentic and the tomato sauce base was really good. I had the seafood pizza and the seafood tasted really fresh. There wasn’t any beer on tap so only bottles which isn’t too much of a problem. Really friendly staff. Went at 6pm and it was quite quiet but I preferred it like this!

I really wanted to love this place as a local authentic Italian, but left bitterly disappointed. The waitress was a uni student and really didn't have the confidence to look after us, and clearly didn't know the menu. The table next to us were about to leave and talking openly about their bad meal, which is never an encouraging start to yours. We had calamari, pizza, chicken Milanese with a Ragu spaghetti it comes with. Neither calamari nor the Milanese were cooked fresh. Both so clearly bought in frozen and terrible to eat. Milanese coating came off easily and wet meat inside. The Ragu was greasy and not a traditional Ragu. The pizza was ok, but for £70 for 1 starter and 2 mains+ £20 wine was not good at all. I was pretty gutted as it's been there ages and looks like a traditional nice place to go from outside. Nope. Guys, please start cooking your own food fresh. You can tell the love isn't there, which is such a shame. It could be great.

A wonderfully authentic Italian dining experience . The service was great , the music was perfect . An excellent range of cocktails . Best breaded mushrooms I’ve ever had . Loved the food . Looking forward to visiting again soon. Perfect for a romantic meal or with friends or alone.

Ordered chicken milanese and surprised to get a side of spaghetti bolognese instead of expected spaghetti in tomato sauce. Combination tasted awful. Chicken escalope was average. Waiter didn't comment on the pasta element left on my plate. Will not return.

We dined at La Piccola Italia for the first time last night and had a fabulous time. The staff are really helpful, friendly and happy and the food is very tasty. Highly recommend for a relaxed evening and a welcome change from the chain restaurants.

Such a disappointment. Carbonara with bacon instead of pancetta (even if the menu says pancetta) & cream. Aperol spritz was super watery. Pizza was ok. The restaurant looks good and the atmosphere is nice but the food is very disappointing and not Italian.

Booked last minute for my birthday with the online form. Excellent service with friendly, smiling staff. Love the fact they don't rush you. Food is beautiful, well presented and taste delicious. Already been here a few times but will definitely will be back again and recommend. Thank you

Really great meal . Fantastic minestrone soup however should be served with grissini sticks and not dried ciabatta . The pizza 🍕 was amazing though for a Tonno pizza with tuna and red onion and to die for . Friendly staff and left after a shot of limoncello. Pleasantly surprised 😯 Will definitely be going back 🤩🤩

First time order, couldn't be happier. Ordered a 4 cheese pizza and the tiramisu. Expect a thin crust, rather than the usual sourdough for your pizza in England. Personally my favourite. Surprisingly from me though, the 5 start review comes from the "classic tiramisu, following an old family recipe". I was making a joke as to how this was gonna be an industrial piece of chemical dessert and it would be disappointing. I could have not been more wrong. It was "simple", exactly as it should be, yet amazing. I could keep going on just about those 2 dishes, but the best I can say is I'll try more items from that restaurant. My expectations are very high now though. Thank you guys, you definitely made my day.

Sfeer goed, eten gemiddeld, heb wel eens beter Italiaans gegeten. Ze rekenen extra voor de bediening aan tafel wat bij mij een beetje vreemd over kwam omdat het een restaurant is. Hoezo wordt je dan niet standaard bedient aan tafel.

It looks nice and traditional inside which makes an exception to most of the Bournemouth high street. So we chose it for a slightly more upmarket dining experience. Was nice in that regard. Menu was relatively simple, which is no bad thing. Our meals were good without being sensational. Price was fairly reasonable too. A nice evening out even if nothing incredible.

Food was Good, especially the Pizza but the service was Very disappointed. We arrive 7:20 pm 40 minutes later someone came to ask about drinks so we ordered drinks and food, another 15 minutes later our drinks came in, starters were served 10 minutes after the drink and by 9 pm we got our main dinner, no one came to ask if we wanted another drink or anything, it’s was just like they didn’t care about the customers because we wasn’t the only one who had the bad experience, other tables were worse ( 2 tables ) who were there before we arrived were served after our dinner. It’s a shame because the Food was really nice. Unfortunately we will not come back there again

Food was very very nice. But the service was terrible. Took 30mins before we could even order drinks. Took a further 30mins for drinks and a further 30mins for starters. Then mains didn't arrive until an hour after starters. Many others were also complaining and some even got up and left.

We discovered this lovely restaurant thanks to the Gourmet Society app: as tourists in Bournemouth we were overwhelmed with the choices so needed something to help make our decision. We then cross-referenced to TripAdvisor and were confident with the choice. We both settled on the seafood spaghetti - being a "seaside resort", we definitely wanted seafood! It was delicious: mussels, clams, and prawns. To finish, just an Italian digestivo (limoncello) served chilled. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had our holiday not been so short, we would have returned to try some of the other dishes. (Date visited Thu May 26)

Called in when walking past to see if the had a table for later, fortunately they could fit me in. Really good selection on the menu, and very good value. All the staff were lovely, but worth booking, it was very busy, I was just lucky to get in.

I absolutely loved my visit to this beautiful restaurant! Everyone was so friendly in there, the food was gorgeous and reasonably priced. I would 100% recommend this place if you are considering it.

Had a bowl of strained penne pasta with a few tiny pieces of beef. A bowl of soup which looked like a mug of cuppa soup. Side salad looked like it was straight out of a supermarket bag. £74…! Won’t be returning folks.

Refreshingly quiet atmosphere, able to hold a conversation gently, no need to raise your voice to be heard. The olives were incredible. The carbonara was delicious, creamy, fair quantity of meat in it. The Montepulciano red wine was astounding. Staff were fast, friendly, and attentive, as well as passionate about Italy. The loos left a little to be desired, as it's currently only one shared by male and female, but that isn't enough to knock the overall down from 5 star.

A nice Italian restaurant serving a good selection of popular dishes. It is busy with a nice atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and will still chat with you briefly despite being busy. Food is excellent and location is central.

Nice ambience, feel of authentic Italian.Very helpful friendly staff. Good choice on menu although disappointed there was no Spaghetti Bolognese or Pizzas with anchovies & capers. If being super critical the house red whilst being pleasant was a shade thin. In all however would recommend for the Italian restaurant lover.
