The best restaurants serving Italian food in Westgate Newcastle upon Tyne North East

I have been to several Italian Restaurants over the past few months, and I can honestly say, Little Ninos is one of the best and the food is made fresh and tastes authentic. The prices are reasonable and service was very good and the place is very clean. 👍

Delicious! Great choice of craft beers. A great addition to the city's wide range of cafes. There's a good vegan and vegetarian range too.

I ordered a spaghetti with chilli garlic and olive oil from PASTA STATION and I must admit it was delicious and delightful rich, flavourful and perfectly cooked. The pasta arrived hot and well packaged, they even included Parmesan and cutlery. If you are looking for delicious quality pasta from the comfort of your home , I highly recommend PASTA STATION. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon.

Phenomenal Italian restaurant specialising in Sardinian cuisine. All the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the customer service was great. Lovely interior. Had the Capesante (fresh egg filled pasta parcels filled with scallop and prawn meat, mascarpone and ricotta cheese) for my main, and panna cotta with raspberry for dessert. Both were incredible. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Lovely Italian restaurant. If they still have it on the menu, try the nduja scotch egg, it's insanely good.

We made a reservation for 8pm On arrival we told staff that we had booking didn't even acknowledge our booking, we were shown to small table for two by young female member of staff offered drink ; came promptly I went outside for few mins when a customer arrived looking for a table to be told restaurant was closed this was at 20.05 she told me how bizarre that it was closed we then checked website for closing times to discover that it was now closed strange that they would take our reservation for closing time. We ordered starters which were delicious but had just finished when waiter arrived with our main course we felt very rushed and could not enjoy our main course as there was only one other table in and they were finished their dinner . Lots of mistakes to be learned by this young team we have been in the restaurant business for a very long time and don't like to critise staff but this little gem of a restaurant could do a lot better we left not having a dessert or coffee as staff were already leaving . We spoke with young chap who was in charge tonight who was very apologetic but he has many a few learning curves to cross disappointing for us as we had looked forward to the luvly menu ( also server should have told us there was no fillet steak before we looked at menu) she waited until we had made our choices. Italian restaurants need front of house experienced staff 😒

Disappointed. We regularly visit pizza express but we’re disappointed with this one. Pizza bases were too soft. American hot was anything but hot. Worst martini espresso ever. We must have had 3 different waiters looking after us throughout the visit, it was either understaffed or disjointed.

Popped in for the teatime special. Food excellent.

Took advantage of the lunch menu and it was worth every penny. Pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauces were on point. Would highly recommend the fried potato starter, I'm in love with the spicy mayo.

We chanced upon Mario's on Valentine's. We didn't have a reservation but still got a table- it was nicely busy. The food was excellent with great veggie options. Had a lovely chat to Mario who was really friendly and welcoming. And it was reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back.

El almuerzo del domingo de hoy fue excelente. Después de intentar reservar para la 1 pm, nos dicen que estaba completamente reservado hasta las 3 . Cuando llegamos allí el restaurante estaba muy ocupado, la espera valió la pena. Mi marido tenía carne asada mientras yo tenía panza de cerdo, ambos eran muy buenos y de gran valor. No es sorprendente que esté tan ocupado, la calidad era excelente, y el personal muy amable. Comemos aquí a menudo para una cena, pero sin duda volveremos para el almuerzo del domingo
