Insieme Restaurant Newcastle in Newcastle upon Tyne

I had read reviews previously and seeing we were at the Tyne Theater, up the road, thought we would try it before our show. Given it was midweek the restaurant was quite busy, generally a good sign. The staff were friendly and very welcoming and we were shown to a cosy table. The restaurant offered both an "early bird" style menu and a la carte and there was plenty to choose from. The food presented was very tasty and filling. Prices here are very reasonable and it is a great pre-theatre option. I would recommend this restaurant and would be happy to return.

The food was good and the servers were attentive. We came from the train station and we were able to put our luggage by the front door. Happy hour dinner specials were very reasonable. Two and three course meals on sale.

Love place. We visited 5th March around 5.15 before a show. The restaurant is lovely inside and had a nice, chilled vibe. Food was delicious, meatball and potato skins as a starter. The meatball was lovely, had a slight spice to it and 2 bits of bread to mop up the sauce. My partner said the potato skins were nice and crispy. For main I had the prosciutto pizza which was delicious, loads of prosciutto and the pizza base was perfect, the size of the pizza was huge. My partner had a pasta dish which he said was really good. It was our first time visiting and the staff were lovely. Service was quick and food was amazing. The restaurant at the time we were there wasn't that busy but filled up really quick. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Italian - Lovely food, great value and AMAZING staff. Went on a Monday Tea time for the happy hour £17 for 2 course, which was fantastic. The staff could not be more attentive. 100% recommend

On arrival we were given a seat at the window of the restaurant, we asked to move as it was cold and were then seated at the back of the restaurant which was not overly busy, the drinks order was taken and we said we were ready to order food but were told we had to order with another member of staff! We ordered pizza and chicken the chicken was inedible so crispy it appeared to have been left under the grill I alerted a member of staff and changed to a pizza and by this time my friends had finished theirs, the pizza was ok but lacked flavour! The main insult came as a surprise from who I suspect was the owner / manager who made no offer to compensate only said I didn’t charge for the chicken thought it would have been common courtesy to at least offer free tea and coffee we had to ask and they said they could give us a shot no thanks!! Only booked this restaurant due to the trip advisor rating and central location! Definitely do not recommend!

Not the best experience to be fair, how can you actually get it wrong in an Italian, friends chicken dish seemed to have been overheated as it was extremely dry, she had to send it back, offered replacement but was totally put off,only chose this restaurant because of previous reviews, thought our coffees would have been complimentary but no only offered free shots, you don't get chicken wrong!!!!

Absolutely superb food, big portions, cooked to perfection, served with a smile by friendly staff. The menu offers so many classic Italian cuisines, we will be back again and again.

Popped in for the teatime special. Food excellent.

Went early for a pre theatre dinner. Family group of 8 of us. We had drinks, starters and main courses all in time for the theatre. Great service. It was quiet as we were early. Lovely ambience, comfy chairs and room around the table.

First time in here and for being a small restaurant next to other more popular restaurants we found it the best by far, food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and left you to enjoy your meal instead of asking every 5 minutes if the food was good. Will definitely be going back there soon… hidden gem of Newcastle!!

An excellent place to dine. The staff are very hardworking and professional. A special mention to Gaz, as his hospitality never disappoints us and always makes our experience a pleasure.

Seafood linguine, mussels were bad, tasted like a public toilet smells Also felt rushed out after our meal, hadn't finished our drinks and were asked if we could hurry because people were waiting, we'd booked a table and were there 50 minutes

Wow! We came here on a bit of a last minute, not really sure where to book so let’s just find somewhere, sort of whim!! And so glad we did! So accommodating last minute, ended up hitting happy hour which meant value for money was amazing (we’d have happily paid full price too). The atmosphere and restaurant itself is wonderful, staff really attentive without being in your face, and the food was sublime, we were both so impressed with the flavour and quality. We will definitely come again next time we are in Newcastle, thankyou for such a great experience!

I went for New Year’s Eve for first time ever, and I’ll tell you something, I will definitely come back , all food was amazing, the services was a 10.

We were 4 mature males visiting Newcastle for a Rugby game. We booked the restaurant at the last minute on Saturday evening and managed to get a table. The service was excellent. The staff are very attentive and nothing was too much to ask for. We had the Pate and Funghi starters, the Grilled Sirloin Diane Steak and Brazino Aromatizzato for our main and Tiramisu for dessert. The portions were good and the quality of food was excellent.

Absolutely amazing! Best Italian 🇮🇹 restaurant in Newcastle in my opinion. Food, staff and ambience were first class. My granddaughter and myself were very well looked after 😊

It’s a good, nice, and quiet place, but I would recommend adding a bit more pasta to my dish (I believe it was the Penne Alfredo). I compared the photos from other people’s reviews with mine, and it seems there was a noticeable lack of pasta in my portion. The dish was generous with chicken, but it’s difficult to enjoy just the chicken without the balance that the pasta provides 😞🍝

The food was really delicious , the staff were lovely , the restaurant had a really great atmosphere. We had the pate to start and it was the best pate I have ever tasted ....I asked the lady serving us about it and she explained how it was made , which was really appreciated ...would recommend a visit if you ever go to Newcastle

Era la semana de nuestro 40 aniversario de bodas y estábamos celebrándolo en Newcastle, llamamos a Insieme el miércoles 6 de noviembre por la tarde para ver si podíamos reservar una mesa para esa noche, ya que nos íbamos a la mañana siguiente para volver a casa, la suerte estaba de nuestro lado, ya que logramos conseguir una mesa para 19 - 30 horas y me complace que lo hicimos, la comida en Insieme es fantástica y el personal es absolutamente brillante Sin duda recomendaría este restaurante italiano para una gran comida y servicio. Llegamos aquí el martes 5 de noviembre con amigos visitantes de Londres y todos nos quedamos sorprendidos de la excelente hospitalidad! Desde caminar en el servicio y el ambiente eran de primera clase. El personal es muy atento y nada es mucho pedir. La comida es probablemente la mejor comida italiana iv probado fuera de Italia! El entrante de bruschetta estaba delicioso al igual que el salmón, pollo y pasta. Tuvimos una noche fabulosa por todos y recomiendo encarecidamente una visita ♥️ 🇮🇹

It's a shopping centre, clean how can you rate it more ..... there are quite a few eaterys there, usual chains depending on your tastes depending what you'll eat.

Es la segunda vez que mi marido y yo hemos estado aquí y nos complace decir que lo disfrutamos la segunda vez tanto como la primera vez. Tuvimos la comida happy hour 2 platos por £ 17. 50 . Para empezar yo tenía setas y él alitas de pollo. Comida principal yo tenía pizza que era encantador, pero no podía comer todo y él tenía Risotto de hongos. , todo hermoso. El vino era ligeramente caro, pero tal vez eso es solo Newcastle. Me di cuenta de lo amable y servicial que era el personal no solo para nosotros, sino también otros tuo. No es justo desde la estación, así que si estás en atea te recomendaría

I ordered the linguine de mare and had terrible food poisoning the very next day. I was informed this was due to the mussels. I reached out to the team who gave a very nonchalant response. Very disappointed and would not return.

Another fabulous meal at this wonderful restaurant. Our party of 10 all had different choices from the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was outstanding. Restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Super good meal, the staff was very attentive, we ordered an Amaretto cake, they served us a small glass of Amarretto! Very nice evening!!!

Decided to go to this Italian because it was 2 minutes from our hotel. Staff were very friendly and the meals we ordered exceptional, especially the Fettuccine with fillet steak. The atmosphere was very relaxed and service was very good. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Newcastle.

Visited for a family party. Service was excellent staff and manager couldn't do enough for us. Food was really nice and large portions.

Haven’t been up to Newcastle for a few months but headed straight for my favourite restaurant. Onc3 again a lovely welcome and made to feel comfortable. Had the early bird menu which is good value. Both my dishes of the Alfredo and of course their tiramisu were delicious.

Third time visiting Insieme and it won't be the last. Celebrating my husbands birthday and the meal was absolutely amazing. The surf and turf was the best he had ever had and the Chicken Al Timo was brilliant. As for dessert...... wonderful!!!! If we had had room, we would have had seconds. Thank you so much for being wonderful hosts. We will be back. xx

Staying in Newcastle for two nights and were fortunate to find this restaurant on the first night. Enjoyed the food and the excellent service so much we went back the second night. Will definitely be on our itinerary should we be back at a future date.

Great hidden gem in Newcastle! Tucked in during a rain storm and could not have been happier. Margherita pizza, bruschetta, calamari, lasagne and chicken with prawn stuffing in spicy tomato cream sauce- all wonderful. Added plus - close to train station.

Outstanding. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had and similarly the red wine by the glass; neither accolade I give lightly. If you’re wondering where to eat, look no further. I’m certain you will not regret it.

I have just come back to my hotel after an excellent late dinner at Insieme with a group of friends. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by our lovely waiter. He was both attentive and entertaining. The menu was full of delicious food, it was difficult to choose, but we managed. Everyone in the group then received a gorgeous meal. The food was full of flavour and clearly made freshly on premises. I had a gorgeous seafood ravioli and the best tiramisu I have had in a while. Even though we got to the restaurant quite late, we never felt rushed. We would 100% recommend coming here if you are looking for an authentic Italian meal in a relaxed environment with warm, welcoming staff. Thank you!

This has to be the best Italian food I have ever tasted. I highly recommend the Calzone and the Penne Insieme. Very reasonably priced with friendly attentive waiting staff. Lovely decor too

Our second visit here more than lived up to the first. The food is outstanding in both range of choice and quality. We covered all bases with pizza, pasta and steak and all were high-quality, freshly cooked and delicious. The service is the icing on the cake in this place though. So friendly, attentive and good humoured. This is a really wonderful restaurant in the heart of the city.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Steak peppercorn sauce the best. Pan fried sea bass perfect. Not one negative to be found . Try it you won't be disappointed. 10/10

Professional service, romantic atmosphere, food pizza healthy, staff asking about alergen and gives advice. My partner and daughter choose gluten free. All was perfect highest quality and hygienist.

Never again. Food is delicious but severely overpriced. £14.50 for a pasta dish with barely any prawns and salmon as advertised. None of the asparagus included as stated on the menu. I’m certain the positive reviews detail a completely different restaurant because I will not be retuning again. Split the bill with a friend only to be confronted minutes later by the manager themself, interrupting our conversation to ask how much we paid, implying we didn’t pay the full amount on the bill. Maybe take a few minutes to actually check the total before coming at your customer so directly. Unbelievably appalling and rude. Possibly the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years. I do appreciate the staff member who offered Parmesan on my pasta but other than that, will not recommend.

Had an impromptu evening dinner at Insieme. Hadn’t planned or knew it was there. Services was very good, food also very good, nice wine. Food arrived in good time. Nice atmosphere and layout to the restaurant. Overall price was reasonable compared to similar restaurants.

Delicious gluten free food, with quite a few options on the menu (I absolutely loved the potato skins). They do charge an additional fee if you order gluten free, and I had penne pasta for the carbonara dish (but it tasted great).

Came for a 70th birthday party. Staff were really friendly and great with the kids. Food was delicious and generous servings. Place was clean and well decorated. Would 100% come back!

We visited here a few weeks ago randomly for a family meal. I found the service a bit odd, some of the waiters hover over your table and made it feel uncomfortable. I also found the food overpriced. The pizza was fine but nothing special. Portions of pasta were very small for the cost and we were left thinking we could eat more. Probably wouldn't return as there are far better Italians and pizza restaurants.

Excellent time with friendly reception

An Italian restaurant with authentic fresh and perfectly flavoured food. Salads and Pasta that is tasty, clean (no fuss), well prepared and served with a friendly professional style. All set in a nicely finished decor. Also just around the corner from the main Newcastle train station.

What a gem if a place. Staff fabulous. Food fabulous. Very friendly and lots of laughs. Highly recommended 👌 near to metro and buses or taxis. Just a street away. We will be back

Pizza was overcooked, looked like it was a pre baked base , and steak was meant to be sirloin. Was more like a ribeye with all the fat throughout the steak. the waiter tried to say that's the way sirloin is. As a former chef, this is not true in the slightest ,

My wife and I popped in here looking for somewhere to eat on a Thursday night. Surpassed all of our expectations! I had bruschetta to start which was good and my pizza as a main was out of this world - thin, crispy with a touch of burn to the edging. We got some chips to share which were fantastic - proper homemade the like of which you rarely get now. The chap serving was a really great guy as well. A wonderful find and would highly recommend.

We were in town looking for somewhere a bit special for a family birthday meal and stumbled on Insieme. What a lovely restaurant and pleasant surprise. Staff and food very good and the manager / owner was very welcoming and great company. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town (ps - best garlic bread ever)

Staff were friendly and polite. Nice choice on the menu and portions were excellent . Overall the food was very good and the price was very reasonable considering the portion sizes. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing experience! The pizza is probably some of the best pizza I've ever had, highly reccomend. The pasta was very nice too (can't remember the name) but came with salmon in a vodka sauce. If I was to be highly critical I would say the Prawns were slightly over cooked and I was disappointed the pasta was not fresh. However, I understand making vast amounts of pasta is very time consuming and completely understand why they don't. The waiter we spoke to, who I assume was the GM or at least head waiter was extremely nice and fun! He gave us some absinthe after my partner revealed Polish. Exceptional service and even better good and hope to return tomorrow!

Honestly sat at the table trying to find a fault, after 20 min I gave up. This establishment is fantastic, gaz was extremely welcoming and the service was fast. The star of the show was the classic pizza, I usually don't like rocket, and thought that would be the weak point of my meal, I was wrong, the pizza toppings were perfectly balanced, the tomato sauce was as authentic as you can get, the dough was exceptional and left me wishing for a bigger stomach so I can have another. Absolute bargain at the price. My favourite local Italian is going to have a hard time living up to these guys standard on my next visit.

Unfortunately the food here was tasteless, well apart from the garlic bread with 🌶️. That said the garlic was a bit bitter. Italian food is normally my favourite because it has lots of flavours. This food tasted as though it had no seasoning. The waiting staff were all pleasant and did take 15% off the bill. I would have preferred better food at full price.
