Scream For Pizza in Newcastle upon Tyne

Be careful making a reservation by phone as they may well forget to record it. Then you turn up and they don't admit any mistake on their part. No attempt to rectify the situation, the staff just look dumb and not even a sorry. This place came recommended but I would never go back and they have just lost 8 new customers from my business.

Looking at the other one star reviews they clearly get angry when they receive one. I’ll expect a reply to this along the lines that I’m wrong and they’re right, and then some libellous BS about how I screamed at the staff or something. Food: not great ingredients. A thin pizza with a funky name doesn’t mean it’s from Naples. Think cheese on toast with a topping. Service: attitude, attitude, attitude. Problem with the food? “Go somewhere else then” is the attitude.

Finally visited Scream for Pizza on Newcastle Quayside- and it was worth the wait. Went for the Frankie's 14 inch and a slice. Vodka bacon cream base, fennel sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, house pickled jalapeños, red onion, chilli honey and basil. Perfect amount of toppings, the flavours were bursting out of every ingredient. The crust is light and crispy, less doughy than the Neopolitan style we've had many times before. We were happily full but not horribly bloated as some pizza can make you feel. Ordered a truffle aioli dip to dunk the crust- highly recommended! We couldn't resist trying the sticky toffee screamie, a Fior di Latte soft serve ice cream made in house from Slayley Estate cows milk, with a hot butterscotch sauce core. Ice cream perfection. Excellent value for the quality at £22.40. Can't wait for our next visit 🤤🍕

Ordered a ‘Princess Margaret’ with added Gorgonzola. Arrived 50 mins later. Cold, no Gorgonzola. Called the restaurant: told that only Uber eats could deal with it, despite Uber eats obviously not having made the pizza. Spoke to manager, same response. No offer of new pizza and waiting days from response from Uber eats. Nearly £20 (including tip & delivery) for a cold pizza that I didn’t order.

We booked here on a visit to Newcastle on a recommendation from a local. We had walked past the quayside one and thought had booked that one. If you are not local this is on a residential street with a few other cafes but no other places you could go for a drink at nearby. the restaurant was small but very busy for a Thursday. We ordered fries and between us the ranch pizza, ham and hot honey one. All the food was excellent and came quickly. The pizzas are well priced but the sides and dips felt a bit pricy for the size. If I was back in the area I would return.

Only ordered a 4 cheese garlic bread for takeaway but wow did it hit the spot. Hot on collection and the perfect combo of cheesey sogginess and crust crunch. Chefs kiss.

Just had lunch with hubby, nephew and his wife. We all had something different and all were fabulous. Highly recommended.

Just really not my preferred style of pizza, service was top, the black lime frozen margie was amazing but unfortunately I found the pizza to be sloppy and soupy.

Great service from the staff, I think our server was called Izzy, she was very friendly and very quick for taking our orders, etc. Lovely pizza as well, came out very quick!

The food was lovely. This was a first time visit but will definitely be going again. As someone who believes that there are way to many pizza places, I would definitely recommend going here. The pizza is unique and something I have never had before. I would 100% recommend the absolutely crabulous pizza. The cocktails were also delightful.

It was recommended through a work colleague so I decided it was time to give it a try myself after hearing all of the rave reviews. Wasn't disappointed with what I got, the pizza was amazing and tasted so fresh. Its pricey, but you get what you pay for and it is definitely worth it.

Damn this place really fallen off. Used to be 10/10 but lately it's 1/10. Poorly proportioned ingredients, overly sweet sauce, terrible bread and the crust is either burnt or anaemic no middle ground. You used to get a beautiful, evenly blistered crust but it seems you've forgotten how to do it. Very disappointed

Ordered a collection. Got there and asked a lady about my order. "Literally 2 minutes, it's in the oven" she said. 10 minutes later of standing in the freezing cold (Because your not allowed to wait inside) I asked about my order again. "Its coming out now" she said. 5 minutes later she comes out with my order. 25 minutes in total including travel time. 15 mins freezing my .... off and lied to several times, all for an over priced mediocre pizza. Pretentious and rude. Deffo DO NOT recommend.

It’s fab, had takeaway and eaten in and the food is always awesome, bustling restaurant and great atmosphere, the wall mural is amazing and the staff are always really helpful and friendly.

You could always rely on Scream for an incredible pizza. However, the pizza we had this week was more than disappointing; there was so much sauce applied to the base that the bottom of the pizza was completely wet and basically inedible. The toppings were basically floating in a soup of pizza sauce. I brought more than half of it home and even my husband wouldn’t eat it (unheard of). It ended up being fed to our dog, marking the first time Scream for Pizza has ever been wasted by us! Thankfully, their sister restaurant on the Quayside is still putting out top quality pizza, but from now on I’ll be going there and not to Starbeck. Really disappointing and hopefully a temporary dip in what has always been the best quality pizza.

Had a meal here with a few friends , food was amazing. Definitely the best pizza you can get in the north east. Would highly recommend any to come here. Dawn was amazing aswell so welcoming and helped us with recommendations. Will be returning very soon.

Excellent pizzas. Service was excellent, fast with takeaway pizzas. Worth the wait, which wasn't long at all.

Unfortunately we reserved a table gor 2 when there were 3 of us, so they couldn't sit us down for a meal. We ordered takeaway and took it back home to eat. I'm surprised they couldn't accommodate us when dinner was for 7pm and all the tables were empty until 7:45pm. I think they need to plan a bit better for contingencies as this.

Truly mediocre pizza. The sauce tastes like a can of Lidl chopped tomatoes, which you can do great things with but these guys didn't bother. The base has the consistency of slightly damp cardboard from the packaging of an IKEA mirror. I'm not even angry about how mediocre it was, the whole experience has left me slightly melancholic. I'm not even sure how I gathered the inspiration to write this review.

Birthday pizza treat with family. We had the ‘Da Bomb’ and the Half Baked Burratta (with mushroom) to start with followed by pizza. All excellent. Too much food though, so had to take some home in a box. One slight annoyance was the usual 10% service charge added to the bill. Whilst I’m happy to leave a tip, I’d rather not be compelled to do so. A lot of restaurants do this now.

Went for a hen do (bottomless lunch) and had an amazing time!! Incredible food as always, great service, delicious (and generous) drinks. Thank you so much!!

Cancelled order last minute even though we had scheduled the order a few hours in advance. Shame as we were looking forward to trying.

Fortune had it that I met Alex this morning who told me all about her place, on the way back to the office I popped in and had a fantastic pizza, Jess greeted me politely and was super helpful. She is great asset for her boss who is lucky to have such a nice and helpful member of her team. Had a small issue but out right straight away and so it's 5 stars all the way. Food was amazing, not too cheap but alright price. However, the service was horrendous and then they added a £5.25 service charge to the bill. I wouldn’t have been bothered if the service had been remotely good. Would Uber eats this place but unsure about going back in.

Pizza is so overrated for the price. Ordered carbonara balls which were tasteless and were told they didn’t have a chicken dish only for a table to come in after us and get served the dish. Was also recommended the arancini dish by the waiter only to be told after ordering they didn’t have it available…. Maybe alright for a quick slice here and there but not worth a £50 bill

A real slice of Naples in the heart of Newcastle, Scream for Pizza is definitely the place to go for some of the tastiest pizza in town.

Ordered via Uber, and in all honesty I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve heard horror stories of Uber pizzas all over the place - especially Neapolitan. The only issue I’d say was Uber decided to group it with two other orders - so it was cold on arrival but the handy sticker said pop me in the oven and tasted as good as new. I’ve had SfP from its initial van, and can’t wait to get to the restaurant myself! I ordered a Princess Margaret - basically a Margherita with Buffalo Mozzarella and it was delicious. Top marks.

Really delicious food. Service was friendly and fast. It's quite a small space and tables filled up quickly, I would recommend booking.

Lovely little place. Staff very helpful and friendly as we arrived quite late and hadn’t booked. The Brooklyn Bee Pizza wasn’t as spicy as I expected and was very sweet with the honey but very tasty.

The restaurant has a friendly vibe. In particular, the manager is enthusiastic and makes the experience more enjoyable. She offered advice on the fantastic frozen cocktails served. The food is excellent, we will certainly be coming back!

Went there for a random dinner with friends. The food was bloody amazing! We tried three different pizzas and they were all great. Also, we loved the black lemon slushy cocktail thing. And of-course, Josh was an absolute amazing host who was always smiling and we are confident that the next time we see him, he will know more jokes to tell us (at least he promised us that!). Keep it peeps up! You guys have absolutely nailed it!

Amazing Neapolitan pizza! Such a trendy and relaxed suburban location. We loved the decor and the service. There is a good choice of pizza and sides. All our pizzas tasted wonderful. Looking forward to visiting again.

Nice pizzas, good atmosphere and friendly service so definitely worth a visit. You need to choose your times carefully as we have noticed early evening diners seem to play second fiddle to phone in and takeaway customers. Last visit we waited almost one hour for pizzas to arrive at our table even though the restaurant had few sit in customers. Second thing, your bill will include a "discretionary" service charge of 10% (no problem with that) but when you come to settle up by card, you are invited to leave a tip! This is bad form in my view and the owners should change this approach to avoid taking the shine off an enjoyable evening.

Ordered collection pizza for 5pm, got there on time and had to wait a further 20 minutes for food to come out, got home a few minutes later as we only live around the corner and had to reheat the pizzas as they were completely cold bad overall experience

Extremely nice pizza, one of a kind!

Headed through late last night to catch it just before closing. Staff were amazing, very welcoming. I think there was a new employee getting trained and he was great, very professional and friendly. Same with the employee carrying out the training, definitely getting lead in the right direction. Vegan truffle shuffle pizza was insanely good, Wor Margz pizza was up there with one of the best pizzas I’ve ever have. Didn’t taste like a typical boring Margarita pizzas.

Didn't live up to the hype. One particular staff member was in a blue hoodie, very loud and rude. Delivery drivers barged into the restaurant throughout the evening.

Took two kids, 6 and 9, who are very fussy. They declared it the best pizza ever. Only a tiny bit if garlic bread survived out of three puzzas and that side. Pudding was polished off too. Can think of no higher praise. I've ate...

Music was really loud for a small venue. Service was friendly but seemed very busy. Hard to get attention. Food was nice, pizzas bases lovely ! Sauce and toppings not to our liking but that's just us, and definetly still edible. Small sauce pots for the price.

I telephoned to order and the girl on the phone was so welcoming and helpful. On arrival to collect the atmosphere was very warm and friendly and the staff remember remembered who I was straight away and was absolutely lovely. Customer service here was impeccable. The food was beautiful too. The chicken starter was melt in your mouth and pizza was so tasty with a lovely base too. Even the dips were dips and fries were lovely too. I will definitely be back again!!

Beautiful and intimate. Lovely on an evening. Pizza was incredible - just something that extra special about it so now I get the hype! Dips were lush too, would just love a bit more choice for veggies. Wine was lovely but would have been better in an actual wine glass is my only criticism!

Great pizza dining experience with unique toppings. We went for the Absolutely Crabulous and the Shuffle Truffle with crack sauce and garlic confit dips, accompanied by honey chilli chicken and carbonara gyozas on the side. Ask the server for the speciality frozen cocktail for a tasty fresh drink to cut through the rich flavours. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy something comforting in Newcastle!

Fantastic! We booked Scream for Pizza’s mobile van for a party at our home. Louis parked up on the drive and created some absolutely gorgeous pizzas for our guests who were all really impressed. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something a little bit different for your next party!

Absolutely fantastic, delicious and gorgeous place to enjoy odd lush pizzas. Not only that we ordered something called Carbonara Gyozas and my brain could not cope with the crazy amazing taste of that mad concoction. Price for the night (after having starters , main and a few drinks ) was very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Loved them so much I requested work if we could hire them (which you can mobile van pizza ) looking forward to it and hopefully going there more often. Xd

It’s a cool restaurant with lots of free on-street parking after certain times. Quite small, so I’d recommend booking. The inside is industrial disco chic. The pizzas are OK, but not spectacular for a neapolitan style. I’ve had neapolitan pizzas from their vans before and NY slices at I scream for pizza which were better. There’s a decent selection of pizzas and cocktails. We went for the Brooklyn Bee and Absolutely Crabulous which were good, but I'd like them a bit fluffier. We also tried the fried buttermilk chicken. They call it chicken popcorn, and it has that texture (spongy and not crispy) but it didn’t hit the spot for me and had too much honey. All in all it’s a nice pizza place and fair value so if you’re in the area it’s worth stopping in.

Scream for Pizza provided the evening catering for our wedding last weekend and they were incredible! The quality of food was as outstanding as you'd expect from them, and the service was tremendous. Despite being incredibly busy with 130 guests they were so polite with everyone and kept guests informed of wait times and processes. Really could not have asked for anything more from Louis and the team and the feedback we got from our guests was sensational. Thank you so, so much guys!

Die Pizzen sind ungewöhnlich belegt und extrem lecker. Sehr phantasievolle Speisekarte. Schön war der Blick direkt auf die Küche. Personal sehr freundlich und engagiert. Allerdings waren die Tische klebrig. Die Teller sind nicht aus Porzellan oder Keramik sondern aus Plastik. Das geht gar nicht! Man konnte die Pizzen auch nicht richtig schneiden, weil die glatten, leichten Teller immer weggerutscht sind. Sehr laut.

After another spot for dinner falling through we ended up here last minute, and I am so glad we did. The chimichurri nduja vegan special that was on at the time was the BEST vegan pizza we have ever had. Incredible flavours, good vegan cheese, and a perfect bubbly base. We also got the vegan Margherita, chips, and garlic sauce - all of which were amazing too.

Cafe style restaurant. I ordered the Absolutely Crabulous. They told us that normal was 90 seconds in their oven, so I asked for 2 minutes, so that it would be more crispy. The 12 inch Pizza was nice, thought very light on the toppings. I thought £17 was expensive with so little topping. I would go there again, but order something different.

It was recommended by a friend. I have ordered the Buffalo Soldiers pizza. Good: the favour are good Bad: this is not a cheap pizza. If I'm paying £14 for a 12 inch, I am expecting more filling than this. I know I have ordered "one of the more expensive pizza", but there's really not much more difference between this pizza and the rest £12 pizza on the menu I'm happy I have tried but I will not be coming back anytime soon.

Amazing takeaway. Got the pizzas and decided to sit outside on the benches since it was a warm night. Waitress came and sorted us out with cutlery and napkins. They care about the quality you’re getting and they deserve a great review from myself.

At here 27/7/22 This place is a favourite in my house, can’t fault it at all. Make sure you book.

Decent pizza, very decent indeed. The only criticism I have is that it’s not particularly child friendly! Difficult to explain as they have all the necessary amenities, though you want the chance to enjoy the pizza! Takes American Express, has baby changing and left the pram in the disabled toilet. Honestly, the pizza is very good. Would have the white base over the red. House white wine is good (ask for ice though). Specials pizza looked very good!!
