Amazing service from Alex! 12 of us arrived for bottomless brunch at 7pm, we had a glass of prosecco when we arrived and an alcoholic slushie followed, while we looked at the menu. We then got to choose from a cocktail pitcher menu of 10 choices. (pitchers split between 2). We all ordered from the ‘bottomless’ pasta menu, there was an excellent choice of 9 pastas. They also catered for a coeliac in our group, with her own individual garlic bread and pasta options! Better than most restaurants! The bartender Alex brought out our cake for the bday girl and kept our drinks topped up the whole time! We all had a wonderful time! Only downside was the atmosphere but it was a Tuesday evening, so was expected! will definitely return!

Had bottomless brunch, food was devine, best meal I've had out for ages, pasta was unreal can tell it's freshly made. We didn't overly rate the cocktails included in the bottomless brunch, but that's our fussiness, nothing to do with the quality of them. The ameretto cherry slush was lush though.

Fresh pasta in a rich shin beef ragu served with fried potatoes and garlic bread was delicious. I wanted to try a dessert but I was too full to eat it on site. Friendly staff offered me one to take away ,so I have a tiramasu sitting in the fridge buggering up my diet. I enquired about the fresh pasta making days that I read about in the reviews and was informed that they are extremely popular with couples on a date . They also offer gift vouchers as a great Christmas gift idea. Found the perfect gift for my brother and his wife who are foodies.

Went for bottomless brunch which on the website says £25 with a £5 deposit per person which is taken off at the end. We arrived and noticed it said £31.50 per person so figured the online menu was out of date. Little annoying but nothing major cause with the £5 deposit it would work out at £26.50 to pay on the day. We got chips and salsa and garlic bread along with 7 litre jugs of cocktails as there was 13 of us. The cocktails were great however they just kept bringing over cocktails we didn’t order therefore due to an allergy and general dislike some of the cocktails went undrank. The servers were fairly slow to take any orders and refresh drinks. Once we got into a rhythm of ordering the correct cocktails it was fine and they were very tasty. After around 40 mins of being there we ordered our food, when it finally came it was very basic. Fetuchini al vodka was just spaghetti in a sauce with no cheese, the meatballs came like a ice hockey puck and the carbonara was pretty much inedible. No staff came to check on us while eating nor did they provide Parmesan despite being asked a few times. Great atmosphere but if you want good food with the bottomless drinks, find somewhere else.

The carbonara tasted like it was cooked in someone's shoe, I tried the meatballs and they weren't much better. The cocktails were ok but not my favourite. They tried to over charge us by £12 a head and there was 12 of us. There's much better bottomless brunches in Newcastle. I wouldn't go back. I suppose the staff brought the food and drinks over so can't complain about that.

We went as a big group for bottomless brunch. Online it says it is £24.50 with a £5 deposit each. Upon arriving they let us know they will only be given litre cocktails, 1 per 2 people which was fine, but unusual as that's not what it says on the bottomless brunch menu. Food was really bad, most people in the group couldn't eat it although the garlic bread and little chips and dip were nice. When we went to pay, all of a sudden it was £36.50 per person. Everyone left feeling disappointed and honestly kinda swindled. Staff were nice but will not be returning.

We ordered a fettuccine chicken parmesan and a daily special. Came in with lots of expectations from many recommendations...but didn't quite feel satisfied. The pasta was too strong on the tomato taste, didn't have much depth to the flavor. Pasta snaps tasted like something that would suit a savoury dish more than a sweet one. Tiramisu was good but too bitter for me personally. Cheese to bread ratio was like 10:1, had to order more bread for appetizers. Overall, not bad but wouldn't recommend to visit more than once.

My partner really enjoyed his fresh cooked pasta. We both loved the special of truffle and parmesan fries. The garlic bread gluten free was good too. I had gluten free pasta and was incredibly disappointed that it was just shop bought especially since the entire menu advertises handcooked pasta. Everyone's plates were sizzling with hot cooked pasta and l just had a boring wee plate and luke warm pasta. Perhaps l had too high expectations but l would say that it would be useful for the menu to specify that the gluten free pasta is not handmade. I understand that for safety reasons its safer for the place to just buy it in but when the entire menu goes on about being handcooked of course you'd assume everything is. But like l said my partner thoroughly enjoyed his and we both liked the other stuff we got. But a note for future. I do also commend that they have a separate fryer for gluten free which is really good as some places don't and it can be a mare. In terms of catering for GF, they were safe for me and the waitress double checked everything with the chef which l really appreciated.

The cocktails came out in jugs full of ice they just well have been flavoured water, there was no alcohol in them at all. We were given tiny little glasses like the ones you had at school for your morning glass of milk. We asked when the next lot of jugs come can we have less ice..... the servers were great the cocktails were awful food not great, toilets dreadful. This was our first and probably only visit to Zucchini Pasta bar. It was a hot day and there was no air conditioning, so we were melting. They did eventually open the front door (it helped a little). We were there for the bottomless brunch (BB). I’ve done several BB’s around Newcastle and this was the worst by a lot (I recommend Turtle Bay or the Old George Inn). Firstly who’s bright idea was it to serve drinks in litre jugs, (a terrible idea) and then not even let the customer choose what they want to drink (another terrible idea). I’m still baffled by this. There was a lot of disorganisation with the servers, they couldn’t answer any of our questions, either a shrug or a “I’m not sure” being their usual response. You would think given that the food had been pre-ordered, it would go through smoothly, but some of us were finished our meal long before others on our table had even been served, and how can an Italian restaurant serve uncooked pasta, that’s like sacrilege. After the food was finished, we were asked 'for the first time' what drinks we’d like, it took over 20 minutes for them to arrive, and they weren’t good. We decided to leave at this point.

We went here for the bottomless brunch. On arrival we were given 'taster drinks' rather than being allowed to order for ourselves, from their very limited menu. The 'taster drinks' weren't even representative of what was on the menu for e.g. some were frozen drinks. The food eventually arrived but it still took over half an hour for everyone to get their meals (even though we had pre-ordered) therefore some of our party had finished their meal before others had received theirs. When it arrived my pasta was uncooked. It took nearly 50 minutes for someone to take a drinks order and then still took a further 20 minutes for them to arrive (not all of them mind you). In total we got 1 x 1L carafe of cocktail each. We even had to go to the bar and find out where some of them were. The drinks were not very nice and still not sure why they came in 1L carafe instead of an individual drink as done everywhere else. Nothing worse than 1L of a drink you don't like. The staff were polite. However, it was unorganised and appeared very understaffed.

This restaurant makes all it's own fresh egg pasta. The menu is one of the most interesting Italian menus I have seen, with completely different pasta and sauce combinations, where everything is made in house. We were looked after extremely well during our visit by the assistant manager (Alex?), who was very friendly and attentive, happy to explain about the restaurant and the food. Nothing on the menu is expensive, most of the mains around £10-£12 pounds and we also had a pretty decent bottle of Italian Merlot for £22. The problem was what to choose. I had pasta with Italian meatball which was more like one huge chunk and my companion had a chicken and pasta dish, with a whole chicken breast covered in sauce and melted cheese. Both were delicious and filling, but we still had room for tiramisu, because it's compulsory. It was so great, we went two more nights as there were loads of other dishes to try

Disappointing Hen Party Experience at Zucchini Pasta Bar! We booked the bottomless brunch at Zucchini Pasta Bar for a hen party, but our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. Upon arrival, the 'welcome drinks' were unpleasant, and we were told we had to finish them before receiving any other drinks. We decided to upgrade to Prosecco for an additional £5 per person, as stated on the menu. However, we were informed that Prosecco was not included in our upgrade and it would actually cost an additional £10 instead of the advertised £5. This was incredibly misleading. Despite our attempts to clarify, we were not allowed to change our upgrade to include Prosecco and were stuck with drinks that had little to no alcohol. It certainly didn’t feel like a 'bottomless brunch' without Prosecco. When the food finally arrived, it looked and tasted like a microwave meal. Overall, the experience was far below our expectations and definitely not worth the cost. We left feeling disappointed and let down.

The food was decent enough and reasonably priced considering other places nearby were charging a good £2-£3 more per dish. However the place was completely dead, on a Wednesday at 4PM we didn’t expect it to be booming realistically however. But what justifies the 2 star is review is the following : our waitress sat us down, and engaged with us. Then she randomly said “I am going home!” - and put her jacket on… walked out. Chef came out in kitchen uniform to serve us… feel bad for him because he was nice but management need to review this. Part of paying for a restaurant is paying for the service, the engagement, no check back was done etc. Would love to come back and give it another shot due to the convenience in location and aesthetic decor however.

The restaurant was super helpful and accommodated a time change and then a further last minute change. On arrival we were relieved with a warm welcome. We met Chris our host and he made us feel at ease instantly! We were left to relax for a little while with a portion of Zucchini's famous garlic bread and we tried pasta crisps for the first time. We both said we would pick on the crisps throughout the session. But they wete so delicious we ended up eating them all in about 20 mins..... they were fab! The session itself was easy to follow and Chris signposted what we were doing at every step and then let us relax and make the pasta ourselves once he knew we understood. He was so attentive and kept popping over to make sure we all good. After the made the pasta we had the luxury of sitting a little bit off from the main restaurant. We were served 2-3 plates of our 5 pastas but actually only at 2 plates and we were stuffed! Chris helpfully packed all our pasta away for us and packed it in takeout boxes for us to take home. If I had to be honest the fried potatoes with truffle were undercooked and neither me or my wife could taste any truffle. They were also too oily and over salted. Absolutely gobsmacked this place has such good reviews. The food is the worst I've ever had eating out. Ever. I've never walked out of a restaurant before because I couldn't eat the food, yet here we are. I'm a Northerner - can't afford to be picky. But this? The food was far from fresh. It looked old, hard, sickly, and dry. You can even see it in the pictures provided by others - the pasta looks like it's been reheated from frozen for days. The colour is off and the cheese tasted like it was turning. I had one bite and literally felt sick. The service wasn't too friendly, bit of a cold air about the staff, which only got worse when I had to admit I couldn't stomach the food. It was embarrassing enough to be in that situation for the first time without being demanded 'what was wrong with it'. Where do I start? Bacon pieces that were like chunks of salt powder, pasta that was old and colourless, cheese sauce that tasted like it was starting to turn... I have no idea how they feel okay to serve this let alone charge for it. Anyone could make better fresh from home. Wish them the best for their business and relieved I was able to walk away without paying, but I'm honestly reeling how people can stomach this let alone give it five stars. I'm not the only one given some other one star reviews here. If you like good Italian food that's fresh, are remotely interested in food presentation, and have actual taste buds, then give this place a wide berth. Edit in Response: Absolutely rich! Yes I do know about fresh food actually, coming from the family of a catering manager. I was also dining out with an American who certainly knew the difference between fresh and frozen given they were very well-travelled. Do you? They've never walked out of a restaurant either until our visit. Shame you can't take this review seriously: it appears you can't take any kind of constructive feedback without having some kind of snarky comment given the responses you've left on other unhappy reviews. We don't do this out of fun, you know. Why else would we waste our time other than to be honest and warn other diners? I would be very keen to see you prove to customers you import your food from Italy. Even then with the way you cook it the Italians would refuse it back. Goodness knows what you do to it.

I think you might have to roll me away, this was so tasty and affordable! The carbonara was lovely, a little salty but that was a plus for me. I also got the pizza slice but it was a little cold by the time I was able to eat it. Still fantastic and would eat it again!

Eating alone here was not only a breeze but a thoroughly wonderful experience. No pesky people interrupting an incredible food moment. Pasta Crisps were a new one on me! I’m obsessed with these crunch pillows. The main event- a carbonara which was rich and peppery with a darkness of flavour which rubbed along nicely with the perfectly sharp garlic mayonnaise I enjoyed with the side of fried truffle potatoes. The tiramisu, washed down with a limoncello sour was a triumphant finish to an amazing dining experience. A sweet and bitter dessert that is oh so light. Glad I came? Yes Coming again? Hold me back!

The worst bottomless experience I’ve ever had! We arrived on time for the booking I made for my birthday to be told they couldn’t seat us for 20 minutes and we’re told to stand in the doorway, all 13 of us. When seated it took the staff 40 minutes to come take any drinks orders putting us an hour into our bottomless slot. From here the service went even more down hill. When we tried to order cocktails there would be 30+ minute waits on them with the staff often forgetting we’d even ordered at all. We were told they couldn’t serve us certain cocktails included in the bottomless offering despite serving them to the table next to us that ordered after. There was multiple occasions where I was left without a drink at all for 20+ minutes even though I’d ordered twice, when the cocktails did come they tasted like pure water when I questioned this we were told the waitresses had just been trained and didn’t know how to make the drinks which is not what you want to hear for £32 a head. Our friend who paid full price for the mock tails option received 1 mock tail during the entire duration of our visit despite ordering more. The food took well over an hour to arrive. When our food did arrive there was a small metal screw in one of the girls meals which we brought up to the wait staff only to be dismissed with well the chef doesn’t have a piercing before she walked off as if it couldn’t have come from anywhere in the kitchen. I asked for a to go box for my carbonara and garlic bread and when I arrived home I opened the box to find a penne which I’m assuming was somebody else’s meal. When I brought this up during my complaint over email they tried to shame me for questioning the decision to give me an different meal entirely from the one I paid for and claimed they had made it fresh instead of giving me my meal even though they were closed at the time of us leaving. I highly doubt this as it wasn’t a full portion, they didn’t mention that they’d made me a new meal at all when they handed me the bag and they declined to show the CCTV of them making the fresh meal despite previously referencing their CCTV to check how long we were waiting for drinks. When we asked for a discount they told us they couldn’t do that and we’d have to pay full price and take it up with head office. When we eventually got to speak to head office they offered £4.20 off each and we had to haggle with them to get them to agree to a £7.50 refund. The whole experience put a massive dampener on what should have been a lovely birthday with friends most of which had travelled to Newcastle for, I sincerely doubt we will be back.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. How lucky for us. This is the best pasta I've eaten in a long while. My friend, who is Italian, agreed. The food was fresh and vibrant, the waiter was so attentive, and the price was very good. It was a one-off trip to Newcastle, so I won't be going back to eat, which is a great pity. Give yourselves a treat and visit.

My partner and I came down on Valentine’s day for a pasta making class. We had the wonderful Chris hosting us and he was fantastic, so charismatic it felt like he was a pal we’d known ages, and he made a really fun experience even more fun. You make so many kinds of pasta and its cooked and served beautifully for you at the end. And there’s too much of it we ended up taking loads home and having pasta lunches for a couple of days! Recommend it to couples or even big groups.

My wife and I went here for a pasta making masterclass and it exceeded our expectations. Our host / teacher was Chris and he was great - incredibly knowledgeable but fun with it. Quality of ingredients and equipment was great and you really don't need too much skill or effort to make something delicious. Whilst making the pasta we were given some great homemade garlic bread and some Italian snacks and drinks which were really nice. Once we'd made our pasta the restaurant chefs cooked it with sauces to match. Far too much food to finish but they they only cooked us what we wanted to eat and the rest was boxed up (both cooked with sauce and raw) the remainder for us to take home. Would thoroughly recommend, very reasonable prices and a really high quality product and experience 👌

I came here with some friends for restaurant week and the food was delicious. Good sized portions and very well cooked . Service was friendly . My only gripe was that we were placed right next to the door and we had booked in advance … we got an icy blast when people came in . It was an exceptionally cold day though ! I would definitely return !

Great food, poor service. We waited 30 mins to be seated despite having a booking, we spent at least 15 mins at the door without being acknowledged. Our starters came after our mains because they were forgotten and drinks were missed off our order. We wanted a dessert but instead got brought the bill without even asking for it. Not very good. Food tasted great though.

The staff were very accommodating! Very friendly. We had bottomless brunch and were extremely fast with drinks something wasn’t even ordering and they were bringing the favourites overs. Chris was especially helpful and friendly. Hugely recommend! Was our friends 23rd and brought a delicious tiramisu (best one I’ve ever had)

Went for a office party, it was very crowded thus the service was slow and the food came out cold. But the pasta was really nice and freshly made, they also have vegan and vegeterian options that they can accomodate to.

Updating my review after another fantastic lunch! The fettuccine chicken parmigiana was outstanding. It came with a delicious arrabiata sauce that was full of flavour and just the right amount of spice. The Christmas special carbonara and spiced apple slushy were top notch too. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we had such a lovely experience 😊 Great pasta and meatloaf, and the legendary garlic bread lived up to expectations 😁 We shared a portion of tiramisu which was more than big enough for two and also enjoyed the slushies

We chanced upon Mario's on Valentine's. We didn't have a reservation but still got a table- it was nicely busy. The food was excellent with great veggie options. Had a lovely chat to Mario who was really friendly and welcoming. And it was reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back.

I googled the best italians in jesmond and to of the list was Florence. When we walked in there were two other tables eating, and felt very empty, not a great sign. We ordered the King Scallops to start, what turned up were Bay Scallops. The sauce they were served in was so salty it was inedible. I asked for them to be taken away. For main I shared a Bolgna pizza and Carbonara pasta with my daughter. When ordering I asked for a side of Jalepenos, to be told later they had none. The pizza was also very salty, and the carbonara had no sauce and overcooked pasta. Thanks, but no thanks!

The pizzas are made in front of you and are always served hot. They taste really good, and a couple of slices will leave you feeling full. Service is quick, good value for money, a perfect snack between lectures, and most importantly, for me, it's halal.
