Redheads mac 'n' cheese in Newcastle upon Tyne

We had takeaway food from Mac N Cheese at the northern light trail in Newcastle Leazes Park. The staff on the takeaway truck were rude and were talking about customers in an unpleasant manor when they collected their orders and walked away, the staff were making comments to each other loud enough for everyone to hear. Extremely unprofessional. The Mac N Cheese was good, definitely had better, very small portions and overpriced.

Is this the best m ‘n’ cheese I’ve ever had? Unquestionably, yes! It’s located in Grainger Market and my wife and I were having a wonder round and because this place was on my list of places try we had to pay it a visit. I’ve had mac n cheese before from vendors and they always seem watery and disappointing. I was curious about this place because the reviews were excellent and the pics looked beautiful. I ended up going for the carbonara which was a special. We only had to wait a few minutes and then it arrived, and holey moley, it looked incredible. Thankfully my wife doesn’t like cheese so there was no sharing. The taste was amazing and the consistency of the mac n cheese was spot on. It was also a substantial portion. I was so surprised that it wasn’t very busy because the food is unreal. It looks like they add/change items to the menu semi regularly which is good to hear. This mac n cheese heaven would be scored even higher if the customer service was a bit better. The guy that severed us was a wee tad miserable and I would have liked a smile or some chat. Apart from that everything else was brilliant!

Not only is their food absolutely GOD TIER but their staff are the kindest & loveliest people. Nothing can keep me away 🤍

What an amazing mac ‘n’ cheese is this place! The sticky rib was AMAZING! Lot of cheese and delicious!!! Its very comfortable to sit and enjoy your meal with a soft drink. We are traveling Europe and this macs are definitely worth it!!

I visited Redheads Mac ‘n’ cheese again after a 3 year wait and was not disappointed. The menu has some amazing flavours with toppings that just make an absolute delight to share at the dinner table or as a takeaway. Loving the delivery service and the fact that it can be bought in some local shops. Keep up the good work Mac n cheese team.

Best Mac n cheese we’ve ever tasted in a super portable pot. What’s not to like?! Not generally a big fan of Mac n cheese but this was incredible and has converted us. Kids absolutely loved it too.

Regular visitor here. The Grainger Market has some excellent food places and this is one of the best. Sticky Rib highly recommended. A great lunchtime treat!

Been coming to redheads for a few months now after discovering them down at the Quayside markets, outstanding food and even better service. Can’t knock the food one bit, I’ve tried all the different options now and they’re all a 10/10. Very reasonably priced and portion sizes are large. Will continue to visit👏🏼
