Still the best pizza in Newcastle

We've been coming here for at least 5 years now and it's always brilliant: it's comfortably the best pizza in Newcastle, possibly the best in Tyneside. Also: very nice mini arancini.

We travel 12 miles from Washington, specially for these lovely pizzas. Proper Italian style, lightweight base, great taste, quality ingredients and not overloaded with cheese

Great food here and at a very reasonable price. The pizzas are definitely restaurant standard and the interior is unpretentious, retro. A great discovery in Newcastle suburbia.

Amazing pizzas!!! We had the special Margarita with saffron and chicken, and Dolce Vita. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dessert was also superb 👌🏼 Highly recommended

Food here is wonderful- lots of options, mains, desserts and drinks. Orders have got mixed up a few times but overall a great place to eat. Only real problem is how expensive delivery is- I recommend going to the location and eating in or taking out rather than ordering online.

Pizzeria Italia served tasty food and was very welcoming. The restaurant has a beautiful frieze on the back wall. It proved an inspired choice of venue to meet with a friend. I was impressed by the texture of the pizza I ordered. The flavours were good.

First time of trying there pizza got the meat feast absolutely outstanding the quality of the toppings and the chewiness of the base bellisimo

Delicious pizza. Crisp, fresh dough and tasty topping.

Takeaway is lovely. I always get the rustica and it is so tasty and the delivery is always bery prompt. I would say adding extras is over the top expansive. You're looking g at over a pound to add a bit of basil but other than that cant fault!

Fantastic place for both a sit down meal or picking up a takeaway. The food is sublime and not just the pizza, but the lasagne and arancini are great as well as the chocolate cake and coffee. Service is second to none. You will always get a friendly welcome. It can be very busy at times though but worth the short wait. Lunchtime deals on pizza is very good on a Friday too. Overall it is just exquisite and can't recommend them highly enough.

It's best served on the spot rather than delivery.. But now gone much pricier and started to charge separately for dining inside... :-(

I’ve dined in, taken out and had delivery here and we haven’t once been disappointed. This is the best pizzeria, with the best service and the most amazing authentic pizza and sides ever. An absolute gem!

I love a Good Pizza and thats the problem its so hard to find an authentic Pizza place but luckily we have Pizzeria Italia on our doorstep and its the best we have had, every time its consistent thin crust cooked perfectly and enough topping to add flavour without sogginess as is usually the case with other places, it realy would be worth travelling to enjoy one of these !

Ordered single pizza for delivery, cost 20quid and arrived upside-down with all topping squished , son was devastated.

There are no words to describe this place, but absolutely wonderful, I come here all the time and it has never failed me once, pizza selection fantastic, drinks and desserts bussin and the crust is even delicious, I don’t really like the crust, but it was so good I ate it. Just fantastic food

May be place is small, but always can expect great pizza. I seen owner mostly in there as well which could be the reason to be so great as well.

Absolutely loved this pizza place! By far the best place to go if you want a freshly made pizza. The sauces and toppings are delicious. Definitely my go to pizza place from now on. Also the classic Italian desserts were so rich and decadent.

Absolutely delicious. For a salami and a margarita both where perfect. Very well priced and friendly staff too. We collected and the place was extremely clean too. Highly recommend.

I was told so many times how good this restaurant is. So tonight we ordered 3 pizzas and 2 chips for £41. I expected something special. We received picture perfect pizzas, lots of topping of high quality items just one seriously big problem all 3 pizzas were stone cold . I collected and live only 400 yards from the shop. So to say I am seriously disappointed is an understatement. I don't recommend unless you like cold food.

I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my life (friends don’t call me “Greasy Liam” for nothing) and I’ve gotta say, the cylindrical food discs they’re making over at Pizzeria Italia are something else entirely. These pizzas aren’t just reasonably priced, they’re so delicious they’ll make your eyes water. Don’t buy a Dominoes. Just, stop. Be kinder to yourself. You deserve one of these instead. Also the staff are really lovely even on super busy evenings. Honestly, there’s some nights I’ve popped in without pre-ordering and there’s 15 people in the queue and they’ll still be friendly when I get to the front. If I was them I’d be throwing bags of flower around and punching the dough, but no. They’re all grand. Anyway yeah I like it here you should try it out. Sorry the picture is naff, I was drooling loads when I took it and I couldn’t get a decent angle because I was making my phone all wet.

Very enjoyable fare. Just a stop over in the Pennines on my way to Scotland.. 40 minute drive from Edmundbyers but very worthwhile. Nice interior decor, good customer manner and delicious food. Deservedly high opinions in the reviews on Google

Delicious pizza and wonderful staff!

Ordered online through Deliveroo. Food arrived freezing cold. Overall it was “ok” but overly salty. Cheap dips that you would expect to get from a chip shop, not an Italian. For the price we paid (£37 for two pizzas and two portions of chips) it really did not live up to expectations. Would not order again. I notice the owner has now responded to my review. I appreciate that they may not have control over when Deliveroo deliver their food, however my point remains that if food arrives cold it reflects poorly on the restaurant that provides it. It is not my responsibility to ensure food arrives on time/hot; that is down to the restaurant and Deliveroo. Criticising your customers for using a service that you provide is not good customer service.

We recently ordered half a dozen or so pizzas from Pizzeria Italia. They were excellent. The bases were wonderful, tomato is well seasoned and the toppings on each of the pizzas were perfect. Thanks again to all the team.

Just picked up 5 pizza's tonight and the majority of the bases weren't cooked. You don't expect to pay for cooked pizza's to then take them home to finish them off in your own oven at home. #never again

Got a slice each with my mate and we had to go back for seconds.. Too good! We had some lemon cannoli too it was tremendous. Will 100% be back soon as possible

Absolute disgrace bought a pizza with chips on it and all you could taste was salt, used to be nice pizza but has massively went down hill since last year. Avoid !!!

Tucked away around the corner from the main Four Lane End shops this is an authentic pizza place that does take out as well as sit in. Small inside so probably best to book. The pizza is up there with the best in the city. Highly recommended. Phone ahead to minimise the wait. Fantastic.

No pida comida para llevar. ¡Acabamos de recibir nuestro COLD 20! Pizza de banquete de carne y patatas fritas prácticamente congeladas. La pizza parece quemada y apenas tiene queso o aderezos. Las patatas fritas son literalmente patatas fritas para horno. Podríamos haber hecho patatas fritas congeladas más bonitas en nuestro propio horno. Mira las fotos como prueba. Realmente decepcionado. Se supone que es una pizzería premium. Comer en pizzas puede ser agradable, pero evite las comidas para llevar. No volveremos a realizar pedidos ni visitaremos.

¡Primera vez aquí y no será la última! Nuestra pizza fue la mejor que hemos probado. Salió sintiéndome cómodo y no lleno o hinchado como con otros establecimientos. La corteza era ligera, esponjosa y muy sabrosa. Las coberturas eran frescas, sabrosas, diferentes y ofrecían una buena selección. El servicio fue excepcional y todo el personal fue servicial y amable. ¿El secreto mejor guardado de Newcastle?
