The best restaurants serving Italian food in East Midlands

My wife is a Vegan.So she was delighted to see a separate Vegetarian and Vegan menu with lots of choice. Except, of course, that most things were vegetarian not Vegan. And a lot of the Vegan options included fake meat.Nothing wrong with that ...except my wife's a Vegan because she doesn't like the taste of meat! There was only one pizza without fake meat..and that was a Vegan Margarita! Boring. And they couldn't even add Mushrooms because all their mushrooms are pre buttered. Here's the good bit of the story! The manager was an absolute sweetheart. He explained why the Vegan choice was limited and then offered to put any vegetables they had available on the pizza. Then the Vegan chef sacrificed some of his personal Mushrooms, so she got a Mushroom and vegetable pizza, which was delicious! ( my lasagne was fab and the Vegan garlic bread was lovely!) Lovely food and top notch service..so I can recommend Prezzos. But a little flexibility from the top might be helpful here...a selection of untainted vegetables to top a pizza should be very easy to supply.

The only down fall was the starter. I ordered the crispy mozzarella. Very disappointed. Only. 4 small pieces no sald Garnish to make it look more appealing, pot of salasa type sauce. £7 for that dish.My daughter gets 2 on the bambino menu as a starter. Why charge so much. I won't be ordering that again.

Visited with friends and was really looking forward to a real lasagne, as had enjoyed on many previous visits. Waited an age for it to be cooked, the presentation was not good, not even served with any salad garnish and the meat was non existent. They gave us some free olives as an apology for the wait (only a couple of other diners as we went early doors) but won’t ever order lasagne there again!

Nos ha gustado Rabia’s en el pasado. Así que trajimos un grupo de amigos mientras visitaba Boston. ¡Nunca más! El restaurante estaba vacío cuando llegamos (en el North End, ahí está su cartel). Una vez que pedimos que tomó MÁS DE UNA HORA para obtener nuestra comida, y 2 / 3 de los platos que pedimos no como se describe en el menú. Cuando se mencionó esto, nuestro servidor se encogió de hombros. Las 6 personas en 2 mesas entraron entre el momento en que pedimos y nuestra comida salió, así que no fue eso. Además, la habitación estaba incómodamente fría. Fue en los años 30 afuera y cuando le preguntamos al servidor sobre calentarse, ella dijo “mi jefe se enoja si lo encendemos”. ¡¿Qué! ! ! Este tiempo de espera extremo fue especialmente doloroso ya que solo estuvimos en la ciudad por el día. Nunca más les daremos nuestro negocio. Demasiadas opciones en el extremo norte para conformarse con esta horrible.

Fantastic evening and family dinner at Cheikos - the waiter was fantastic and attentive- the food was quite incredible. We had it on a voucher deal but quite frankly it is a very reasonable priced menu anyway - would highly recommend - my friends are now booking and we will definitely return again - thank you

An anniversary meal and chose what WAS a great restaurant The text sent the dat before stating that had to reply with name number and time of booking made over a week ago as it would not be confirmed till this detail was given. Welcome was not what had previously experienced there and not given a great table. Had to ask one of the four waitresses if we could order a drink 10 minutes after being sat down - wouldn’t have minded but there were only 3 other tables occupied. Ordered starter without ‘peppers’ I had to explain to the waitress what peppers were as in “bell peppers, the green, red, yellow, orange ones- bit worrying really was not asked if we had any allergies which was surprising as this is a repeated question you’re asked nowadays. After and hour of arriving for our reservation, ordering and finishing our starter the main came. My wife ordered smoked salmon and pasta, what arrived was cooked salmon in the pasta not smoked a totally different taste and flavour. I asked to check the menu and smoked was stated, we explained this to who appeared to be the head waitress, who could not comprehend the difference in cooked or smoked, no apology or explanation was given and we were only asked to reselect, lasagna was asked for. I had ordered and had a lovely veal Milanese, with salad, which I finished, my wife asked that hers now be cancelled as would not want to eat on her own as I was finished, minutes later a lasagne arrived this was duly returned and the bill asked for. Very unprofessional No apology Poor service A total and unfortunate change and a restaurant I will not voluntarily go to again Times are a changing and this is a shamefully wrong direction

I visited the restaurant on Saturday 25th Feb as part of a large group (50+people). Now I understand that 50 people arriving at the same time is a bit of a nightmare but, as I understand it, Marco was given all of our menu choices in advance. Anyway, we arrived at 7pm and received our starter at 8.20pm. This wasn't a huge issue as we were enjoying the company of our friends, however as the night went on it meant that some had finished their meals and others hadn't even had their mains, some never got them and left. The waitresses did their best to calm the waters and generally the mood was OK despite the obvious problems. The food when it did arrive was acceptable, but I had expected slightly better than acceptable to be honest. We asked for parmesan and was told there wasnt any tonight. Some on our table didn't eat their mains as they said it was bland and left before their deserts. As I say, I get 50 people is a bit of a logistical nightmare but surely the restaurant should have been prepared for that? All in all I would advise not to visit if you're in a large group.

Best place in town for ice cream and coffee. I tried the waffle and it was fab. Quirky setting, comfy booths. I recommend it to my friends.

Absolutely awful. Ok so I can’t comment on the food because when we arrived our reserved table wasn’t ready, 15mins later they took our order but after 1 hour and no food (and 4 other tables being served) we decided to leave. They care more about the take away than the customers - personally I’d avoid the longgggg wait.

I can see why the reviews are so mixed, we ordered a takeaway of 2 pizzas and olives with breads and one pizza was ok the other not so great, overall you could probably get a better pizza in Asda, the olives and breads were good but would expect much better with the pizza.

We stopped here for lunch after a walk around Mablethorpe, we had a toastied sandwich each and they were lovely! Just enough to keep us going for a few hours, it was quality and not quantity. We had the pepperoni, mozzarella and onion with garlic butter each - very tasty! As we were stopping over, we were originally planning fish and chips but the chippy closed earlier than expected so ended up coming back here for tea, and so glad we did! We had the pollo rosso supreme pizza (12 inch) and spiedini chicken kebab (we each had a bit of each!) and they were both very tasty! Would definitely recommended to anyone looking for a quality take away or eat in.

I’ve just been for an enjoyable meal at Bel Pease. The food was of good quality and nicely served. The waiter completed the evening with his charm and humour.

I order from here at least 3 times a week and food is always great. today was not as mycooking instructions request was ignored meaning I ended up with sloppy chips donner meat was not well cooked

We visited SCOOZI PIZZERIA on Wednesday night for a light bite before the Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight Concert at Southwell Minster. What a find!!! The restaurant, the staff, the lovely atmosphere, the service and the food were all absolutely gold standard exceptional. A freshly cooked Pizza using a rainbow of fresh vegetables, spiced and seasoned exactly to our liking, served piping hot. It was obvious that SCOOZI is very, very popular in the area, as the takeaway custom was constant. My husband maintains that his Pizza was the best he had ever enjoyed. We will definitely be going back, making the trip just to visit SCOOZI. Thankyou to you all *****
