Rabia's Restaurant in South Holland

Returned to have dinner after eating here a few years ago on vacation. Same great food and pleasant atmosphere. Even had our same waitress. Quick, safe walk from the Marriott Courtyard. The North end is always fun and vibrant. If we ever make it back to Boston, we would absolutely return.

Wine and food was wonderful. We had the Chilean Seabass and ot was amazing. As for the lobster roll, it was average. The mussels appetizer is a great choice as well.

We are in Boston for 3 nights and decided to just grab a bite near our Hilton Canopy hotel. Robia’s Dolce Fume was a 4 minute walk. Our ressie was 6pm and we were seated immediately by our server Milosh from Serbia. First and foremost his service was personable and efficient but not intrusive. My daughter wanted the rigatoni bolognese (no cheese) and Milosh suggested the “powered up seafood tower and pasta” for 2. It included 1 whole lobster, tons of shrimp, grilled octopus, calamari, mussels, clams, all in a tasty tomato broth with zucchini and peppers all for only $76. It was amazing. We ended with carrot cake and a surprise of pistachio limoncello from Milosh

So many restaurants to choose from, but we liked the menu offerings (puttanesca & fra diavolo) and prices. Made reservations both times, but didn't need to, although both visits had a large group event going on. Food was excellent, service was excellent, and we did free advertising by sitting in the front window showcasing our food! Be forewarned--if your waiter says the main dish could feed 3, he isn't kidding!

Ok Italian food, but not great. It was better when I last visited 20 years ago. Bread was greasy garlic with Parmesan would have preferred just the bread. I had chicken pasta, just ok. I don’t think I will be back.

The food was spectacular and I appreciated the level of service. My brother is autistic and very particular. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. The calamari, lobster bisque and lobster ravioli were better than some of the overly hyped restaurants. The cocktails were really good too. The next time I visit Boston, I’ll be sure to check them out. When the staff is enthusiastic and friendly it creates a space that you want to return to. You get that when you visit. Our waitress even gave my brother a hug. I cannot express how much her kindness and patience meant to my family. Please check them out!

Sat in the restaurant side, service was so friendly and loved the atmosphere of the nearby street and restaurant workers. All 4 of us loved our meals, would def return. Had Fettuccine with Veal, just delicious.

Oh my god. The food here is heavenly. The clam chowder is the best I’ve ever had and the crab roll was excellent. Also, very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend. 5 stars!!

The staff was warm and friendly. The food was AMAZING! The best shrimp cocktail I’ve ever had in my life. And the salad was spectacular too. Even the bread was remarkable delicious.

This is a very mixed review. The food at Rabia's is excellent and we've dined there before. But we will never go again. The payment and leaving processes at the end of the evening was ugly and unacceptable. It turned what had been a lovely dining experience into a poor one, one that I will long remember, but not at all in a good way.   First, I noticed a significant difference between the itemized bill they gave us at the end of the meal and the credit card voucher that they process. There was no explanation, but when I asked (after waiting several minutes to get the server to come over, even though there were few customers at the time), I was told it was a 4% 'credit card fee.' I've never had this at another restaurant and it was not stated either on their website or even on the credit card voucher.   Second, and even more costly, when we got to our car at the Haymarket (Parcel 7) Garage, they said our parking slip was NOT validated, even though staff of Rabia's had told us twice that it was. I tried to call the restaurant that we'd only left 10 minutes before and just got put into their voicemail. Again, they were not at all crowded.   When I talked to the manager the next day, she denied any responsibility for anything. Her attitude was an immediate 'not my problem,' to everything we discussed.   Too bad. A restaurant with such an unwelcoming attitude will not last long.

Excellent food and service… and no wait!! Authentic Italian and seafood. Above par mixed drinks as well. Nice mix of customers with families and young singles enjoying themselves

Had a wonderful experience a Rabia's Dolce Fumo last night! The food was delicious and great portion size. The drinks were to die for!! I had the Risotto al Frutti di Marre .. everything was cook to perfection! I would definitely be back, and brings more friends to girls night out!

Went there for my wife’s bday. We had a beautiful table by the window. Yaya was awesome. The manager was really nice as well. She gave my wife a bday sash. We had the Treasure of the Atlantic. The ocean on a plate of ice. Yum. Thanks for the memorable experience.

If you want excellent oysters this is the place. The happy hour is $1.99 each for some of the best oysters. The drinks are good too but expensive.

The staff was very lively! There were several celebrations going on while we were there (it was graduation weekend) and they helped those groups celebrate. Seemed like they did a great job for those big parties, and our food still came out great and we had great service as well. Our group was all about the lobster: lobster roll, lobster bisque, lobster risotto, and lobster ravioli - it was all wonderful! Every plate was scraped clean - we loved it all!

Went there for lunch. Bread was fresh out of the oven. Had the bruschetta for an appetizer. Excellent. For entree, my colleague, who is an Italian citizen had lobster ravioli and RAVED about it. I had the Frutti di Mare pesto which had scallops, shrimp and mussels with a creamy pesto sauce broccoli and homemade fettuccine. The best seafood dish I ever ate. It was fantastic. This place us a GEM

The food was great, the staff was fantastic! This place is a hidden gem in Boston. I had a lobster version of a Caprese salad. So good! The ambience is warm and inviting. They even helped me charge my phone! Please eat there- you won't be disappointed!

Stopped by for dinner with friends and it didn't disappoint. From the oysters to the mussels to the pasta everything was delicious. Will definitely come back and recommenced

Food was good, service was pretty spotty. Ordered the stuffed chicken and was pretty impressed. Had a coke and ordered a refill but it never came. I was charged for 2 cokes so I assume they don’t do free refills on a $5 glass of soda. Regardless, pretty neat little place in the North End. The inside is cool but you can also eat outside if it’s warm.

We had intended to try Neptune’s for a lobster roll for lunch but the line was long and it was cold and drizzling. Took a chance on Rabia’s and it was amazing! Service was outstanding and so was the food. The warm garlic toast was divine. I had some crazy cocktail with three kinds of rum and pineapple that had dry ice in it! So good! My son got the charcuterie platter and it was unbelievable. We all sampled it! He also had a Caesar salad. I got the rigatoni bolognese, my daughter had the minestrone and my husband got the penne alla puttanesca. All our meals were outstanding. This is a little gem in a sea of Italian restaurants. Highly recommend!

Outstanding gem in the North End. Service, food and drinks are phenomenal and well priced. Christan the owner pays attention to every detail and you will not regret your decision to dine here.

Wonderful. Off the Main Street so it’s quiet and charming. Cold, cold Boston day. We both had soup and shared a panzanella salad. Hit the spot. Staff very friendly. Definitely we will come back Oregon Residence

We stayed near the North End on our trip to Boston. Our hotel bartender suggested Rabia’s for dinner and it was by far the best Italian food we’ve ever had. Great service and drinks also! We will definitely return!

We happened upon this place because there was an extremely long wait at our choosen destination and we were not disappointed. Excellent service just before the lunch rush everywhere else. I had the best, freshest Risotto Frutti de Mare ever! Perfectly prepared risotto and packed with fresh lobster claws, scallops, baby octopus, prawns, calimari and fish. The wait for Neptune was 2 hours and we were hungry. The restaurant next door, Rabias offered many of the same oysters at the same price and we decided not to wait.

We were supposed to eat at another restaurant but found this one more deep in the street. We were hungry and this was the only restaurant that did not have a lineup. The food and the service was great. The food came very slow, and the ambiance is very dark. If you want more light, this is not for you! We particularly loved the clam chowder, and I personally ordered pasta! They also served plastic straws and a small single-use plastic spoon to use with the salsa which I found every annoying and unnecessary. It is also annoying because of our widespread plastic pollution and climate crisis problems! Maybe you can ask them when you order to not serve any single-use plastics!

As we ambled down the sidewalks of the North End looking for a restaurant the host of this establishment identified us as an easy lunch seating. He promised us great food and matching service. He was correct. We sat at the bar. Had a lobster roll stuffed with about a pound of lobster.

Was looking for something historic, and not new and trendy. A great place for lunch, well actually for oysters and lobster...and found it! This lovely place has been around for many years, not always a good sign, but in this case, it was. Had a wonderful plate of local oysters paired with great Spanish white wine. Am generally not a big fan of lobster rolls, but it was lunch, so thought I'd give it a try. Served warm and with butter, it was fresh, sweet, tender and just plain delicious. Staff was friendly, attentive, but not smothering. Was the perfect spot for lunch, and highly recommended.

This is a charming restaurant with authentic Italian speaking staff (my conversation with our delightful young waiter Nemo was totally in Italian) and the best Seafood Risotto we've ever eaten - better even than in Italy. Perfectly al dente arborio rice, stuffed full of seafood, it was a symphony on the palette. The two of us shared it, and also shared a side of delicious garlicky spinach. And a very nice bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva. Great music too.

Originalmente habíamos planeado encontrarnos en un restaurante a pocas puertas de Rabia, pero la espera fue una locura, así que terminamos en Rabia por casualidad. No hubo ninguna espera en absoluto! Teníamos un grupo de 5, y nos acomodaron enseguida. Inmediatamente nos dieron agua, que estaba siendo rellenada constantemente, ¡lo cual siempre es bueno! Fabulous evening. Our request for a simple dish of lobster was met. Extensive list of Italian wines. Lovely evening with friends.

Fuimos con otra pareja y nuestros cuatro hijos pequeños. No hay menú para niños. Pedimos un plato de pasta para dividir para cada niño. El gerente salió y nos ladró frente a todos los demás clientes que teníamos que gastar un mínimo de $ 20 por niño o se negarían a servirnos. Qué raqueta. El restaurante estaba casi vacío y no es de extrañar por qué. No íbamos a darles nuestro negocio después de un encuentro tan insultante, así que nos fuimos con cuatro niños hambrientos. Que horrible manera de tratar a un cliente. Nunca volveré y le contaré a los demás lo mal que tratan a las familias allí.

Stopped in for early afternoon drinks and two appetizers. Drinks and appetizers were average. Appetizers were expensive at $20 each. Service was very good though.

We read the reviews and reserved a time. We arrived early and were seated promptly. Kate made sure we were well taken care of and she was attentive and professional. The Ceasar salad was great but the salmon over risotto was even better. My date had the grilled octopus in pesto and was wowed. To finish we shared a cannolli draped in chocolate and cream. Food was timely and well prepared. We plan to go back for my birthday. I highly recommend the food and service was excellent. Salem street is off the major street but this place is a great find and approachable. Well worth it.

If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. We should have known something was up when we passed several restaurants with very long lines and at Rabia's, there was no one waiting. We should have known, when standing waiting for our table, we saw a diner send back her meal. We also should have known when the very rude manager (It would be a shame if this guy was the owner) brushed us aside taking two other parties that came in right after us and sat them first. One with a reservation, as we had, and one without. All the while we noticed an empty table that we were ultimately seated at 15 minutes after we arrived. They try to pack as many seats as possible, in fact the woman at the table behind me said several times she was sorry for bumping me. Ok so all these little signs should have told us something but we figured we were seated so we might as well stay. We had a concert starting in 2 hours and figured we had plenty of time to enjoy a meal. Ohhhhh we should have known better! We were greeted promptly by our server and our wine and appetizer arrived in a fairly decent time period (15 minutes) However after 30 minutes, I asked our waiter what the hold up was. He said he would check. 15 minutes after that we asked again. He told us he was sorry but the kitchen MISSED our order and we would have to wait. He assured us it would only be a few minutes, another 15 minutes later, we asked again, he said it would be '3 more minutes'. At this point, our 2 hour time window was reduced to 15 minutes! We decided to inhale our meal was not what we wanted and asked to cancel the rest of the order and asked for our check. You would think the nasty manager would have come over and offered some sort of normal courtesy, maybe just saying he was so sorry, instead he became combative and told us to sit down as the meal was coming out. Wait, what? I have been in the restaurant business for many years and rarely come across such a mismanaged store. Needless to say, this is not a place we would ever consider again and would never recommend to anyone. Also be aware that their website states one price for various entrees items but once you sit down and receive the menu, you will find many items have gone up in price, as they literally hand wrote the increased price over the price printed on the menu.

Amazing food, fantastic service! My server recommended a nearby pastry shop that was wonderful local culture! A little pricey but WORTH IT! If you like seafood, this is the spot for you!

We ate lunch here and the lobster roll was one of the best I've ever had. It was pricey, but since there was so much lobster, I'm not complaining. They offer their lobster roll 3 ways - warm with butter, cold with mayo and celery, or with melted cheese. Being a traditionalist, I had mine cold with mayo and celery and that's the way I like it. Our server said that most people order the hot version. My husband enjoyed his oysters, and also an order of clams.

Had plans to go to another restaurant, but could not get in. Found Rabia's and was told that they could seat us as soon as our whole party of 5 was at restaurant. By the time we were all there, there were no tables and was told it would be another 20. After waiting way more than 20 minutes we had suspicion that other groups got tables before us, we went in to complain and were given a table about 15 minutes later.

Went to Rabias for a quickish meal before a concert at TD Garden. Very crowded even at 6.00 p.m.. Tables are very close together. Typical Italian dishes which were very good. Service was very good and quick considering the crowd and tight spaces.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Prices are a bit high but is in norm for the area. The oysters are amazing and the lobster roll rivals the competition a few doors down. Don’t pass this place up.

Apple ravioli with figs was unique, memorable, and tasty. The seafood pasta was good, not great as the seafood was a bit over cooked and slightly tough. Lots of seafood however and it tasted fresh. The oysters were tasty and the starter of fresh bread with olive tapenade was nice touch.

Glad we made a reservation. Very crowded and tables are packed very close to each other but it has a fun feel. It is on the pricey side but very good. Fresh bread and fresh pesto was a nice start. I would pass on the lobster caprese next time. Not worth the $30 and the price isn’t on the menu. $20 would be high enough. I did have the Seafood Risotto which was very good. Just the right portion and the addition of a few pomegranate seeds was clever. My husband had the Almafi Linguini which he loved. Lots of seafood in it. Service was average as the servers are so busy with the large crowd. We had 2 glasses of wine and our total was $112. I would go again but pass on the appetizer.

The clams and oyters were fresh and DELISH! The lobster was better than what we had in Maine. Service was excellent, prices reasonable, clean, and food was Exceptional!

The food & service was very good, but very pricy! Probably the line of the best lobster rolls we've had, great wine too, but overpriced for sure!

Went there for lunch, had the $30 Lobster roll, even at 1/2 the price it would have been a rip-off. Lobster was too chewy and drenched in butter, which made the fries underneath way too soggy. Work on the plate presentation! My friend's salmon was OK, but the asparagus was not fresh and vibrant, looked old and had no crunch to it. For a $35 salmon plate, shouldn't it be top quality?

Felt like we wasted one of our night’s meals in Boston. Ordered pasta with lobster and shrimp...shrimp really large but rather tasteless. Beet salad ok but should have ordered lobster caprese.

We were window shopping on where to eat and a couple came out raving they had been here twice so thought we would try it. The wait was about 45 minutes but we didn't have reservation and it was Saturday night. Once seated service was good. We had the meatballs and seafood pasta both were good. They did bring out bread to nibble before your meal. The place was packed and cute inside.

Todas las otras casas de ostras tuvieron largas esperas el domingo por la tarde, así que éramos escépticos. Not so good! Food is mediocre. Had much better elsewhere in Little Italy and for half the cost. Server was lackluster. Water not refilled without having to request it, when there were only 3 tables filled in the entire restaurant.

Une fois passée la surprise du serveur grognon et qui ne semble pas parler un mot d’Italien, on se régale d’abord avec le poulpe au pesto grillé puis avec les gnocchi maison au pesto. Je les soupçonne de contenir un peu de semoule ou de farine de blé, ils sont un peu durs mais excellents! Charme désuet, véritable trattoria!

Where else do you get a marching band down the road while eating dinner every Sunday in summertime? Plus, warm figs served with gorgonzola & balsamic= divine. The owner (I believe) was taking such good care of us. Lovely glass of Montepulciano de Abruzzo for $9. Pasta was good but honestly starters were amazing! I suggest going for the specials menu. We picked this place especially for of the vegetarian options for my teen. I thought it looked great too (not overly fussy but still nice) & was not disappointed. Lovely evening!

Waited a REALLY long time. Food was not worth the wait. Gnocchis were heavy and mushy, tomato sauce was not very good. We were disappointed.

Had guests from SC who we wanted to provide a great memory of cuisine at the North End.

Sentarse en el bar y conseguir ostras en media concha. Wellfleet y puntos azules eran mullidas, marino y helada. Excelente lugar para experimentar el marisco en el extremo norte.

We visited Rabia's in the middle of the day on a Friday, so we avoided the dinner rush. All five of us were very happy with our meals. Specifically, we liked the 4 Cheese Gnocchi, the Rigatoni alla Bolognese, and the Vermont Red Apple Ravioli.

Was not interested in waiting 1 1/2 hours for Neptune so we took a chance at Rabia’s, glad we did. Waitress was attentive and very nice. Lobster roll delicious with bisque on top. French fries not so but steamed veggies were a good side. Reasonably priced lunch:)

The seafood were chewy and tasteless. Pasta was hard and dry. Service was subpar! Do not waste your time!

Como la mayoría de la gente, nuestra gran fiesta de esperar en la cola por Neptuno y caminamos unos pocos metros para rabia. Qué agradable sorpresa! Tuvimos varias formas deliciosa langosta. . Rollos de langosta. manteca, langosta ensalada caprese, langosta, y rollos de langosta con una llovizna de langosta. Felicidad langosta!

Visitamos este sitio italiano y comimos clam chowder y lobster roll, ambos platos muy buenos, acompañados de cerveza local. Buena atención.

Hemos estado varias veces antes de Rabias y no tuvimos problemas. Fuimos un sábado para el almuerzo. Nadie en el lugar además de mi marido y yo un viejo caballero fue nuestro camarero. Él trajo las bebidas y le dijimos que nos gustaría esperar y pedir en pocos minutos. Volvió a unos 15 minutos más tarde y mi marido pidió ostras.

After waiting in line at Neptune for 30min in the rain we found out that the restaurant was no longer accepting walk-ins...so after a short walk~100ft we were greeted by a friendly gentleman at Rabia’s who was able to seat our party immediately. Service was timely and friendly. We started with lobster rolls as well as lobster caprese salad and it was amazing! We’ve been to many Italian eatery’s in the North End and Rabia’s will be on our list again in the future.

I ordered the ravioli with apple, fig and Gorgonzola sauce. 6 half moon ravioli cost $21. I also tried the clam chowder. A small bowl was $9. Neither dish was particularly good. The ravioli was very sweet and had a grittiness like sand I'm guessing from ground stems? It took 45 minutes to receive our food and another half hour to get our checks after we were done and all the dishes had been cleared. The waiter did next to nothing. There was a young girl that we could ask for things. The waiter was gruff and angry from the moment we asked for separate checks (which we needed to submit for per diem). Altogether we spent nearly 2 hours being largely ignored and waiting for food or check who knows how long we would have had to wait if we had a credit card or needed change. Avoid this place.

This restaurant was so disappointing. I’ve traveled to Boston for over 30 years and have eaten in Italian restaurants in both the North and South end. This was really the first time I was completely disappointed. My experience began when I asked for a glass of red wine, specifically a Pinot Noir, and I was served what tasted like a cheap Chianti. I overlooked that and went on to order a simple veal parm with eggplant and linguine because I wanted something classic and comforting. The veal was tough, the linguine was over cooked, and the sauce had no flavor. I never worry about paying for a good meal, so I added eggplant to my dish for a 4.00 up charge, and when my dish arrived, there was one slice of eggplant on my veal. This was not the quality I’ve come to expect from Boston. Don’t waste you time or money here.

We’ve been in Boston for a couple of days and have had nothing but seafood. We decided on a good Italian meal but didn’t get it. The pasta was very ordinary, the sauce wasn’t anything close to traditional Italian tomato sauce, the veal was tough and the eggplant bland. My wife even ordered a Malbec and they brought something that was a watered down version of Chianti. There are lots of great Italian restaurants in the area. Please don’t waste your time or money on this one.

Came into Boston before the u2 show, dinner here was great. Louie our waiter was great, very attentive, gave us just the right amount of space. The food was great. Had a Caesar salad and shared the veal Marsala. And a nice bottle of wine. Not outrageously expensive.

First the good stuff. IF you are someone who only cares about the food and everything else is secondary, you may want to try it here. In complete fairness our food was pretty good, not really gourmet or anything, but it was enjoyable if not somewhat forgettable.

We ate at the oyster bar next door the day prior (waited 1.75 hours to even get in, you can figure out 'where' that was) & we decided to try Rubia's the next day. I can tell you that after eating at both places - I won't be waiting 1.75 hours just to get seated again. Rubia's had a smaller selection of oysters but they were all fresh and some even tasted better! In addition, the additional dish selections made it great for my husband to also have a pasta dish since he eats so much! The wine was good, the bread was great, nice seating areas, nice staff and an overall great experience. We enjoyed it and would return here again.

We were told when in Boston we had to try Neptune Oysters but, after being told at 2:40pm on a Friday that there was over a 2 hour wait, we decided to try this restaurant which is literally 2 doors down from Neptune and we were not disappointed. We were in the area with our son and daughter-in-law and tried a few specials (lobster caprese salad and a fig dish; both of which were absolutely delicious) as well as lobster rolls and two main courses loaded with seafood which were equally terrific. We all shared a tiramisu which was 'to die for'. All in all, for a restaurant not on our list of choices, we're glad we went and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Glad I read the reviews after going here; I might never have stopped if I had. Will definitely return when in the area again.

We came upon this restaurant by chance, liked the look of the menu, and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The armosphere was comfortable, Service was attentive and friendly. Our starters - chowder and Caesar salad - were well made. The risotto dish was exceptionally tasty and the pasta dish, though less ample, was good as well. We left the restaurant feeling quite satisfied with our dining experience. I would return to this restaurant if I was in Boston again.

Nestled next in the North Ens next to the exceptional Neptune Oyster Bar where I have eaten before with fully trained and licensed service animal, this restaurant flagrantly violated the Americans With Disabilities Act last evening. The incredibly nasty

Slightly old school. Fresh seafood. Looks like it would be a great place to drink wine in the bar & eat seafood.

We were very disappointed of the meals. $65.00 for seafood special was not worth it. It was not tasty at all. The entrees looked good but did not taste good. Have had much better food at some other restaurants.
