Disappointing Experience – Unacceptable Customer Service After hearing many positive things, we were excited to visit this restaurant, hoping for a wonderful dining experience. Unfortunately, our visit was nothing short of shocking. As someone with two years of experience in hospitality, I rarely complain, understanding that mistakes can happen. However, the treatment we received on this occasion was unacceptable. Firstly, we ordered our starters, but about five minutes later, the waitress returned to inform us that they had run out of calamari—an issue we were happy to accept. However, she didn’t offer a menu to help us choose an alternative. This lack of initiative was frustrating and unprofessional. When our main courses arrived, two of us had ordered the same dish—vodka pasta—yet one of the plates was served completely cold. We were told that a fresh one would be made, but when it arrived, it was placed in front of us by the manager with no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. The pasta was clearly just reheated in the pizza oven, as the plate was scorching hot, not freshly prepared. When we questioned this, we were told, “We don’t even have a microwave,” which felt irrelevant, given the visible pizza oven. Despite this, we accepted the dish and continued our meal, as it was already quite late, and we didn’t want to further disrupt our evening. The situation worsened when two of us stepped outside and encountered a chef who was already outside. He rudely shoved one of my friends out of the way, stating, “It was because you were in my way.” This occurred as my friend was standing near the door, trying to avoid the rain. Instead of asking politely or giving him a chance to move, the chef aggressively pushed him. This behavior was completely uncalled for and highly inappropriate, especially considering that we were paying customers. To make matters worse, when one of us tried to move past another staff member (who had witnessed the incident), the staff member blocked his path and then accused him of “harassing” them, claiming to have CCTV footage of the situation. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience we've ever had, and it’s particularly disappointing because the restaurant had so much potential. The lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and disregard for basic courtesy not only ruined our experience but most likely disrupted the dining experience of others as well. The underlying issue here seemed to be the chef’s refusal to accept that the meal served was not up to standard, especially given the price we paid. While they did offer to take our entire food bill off, in my opinion, we should not have been charged at all. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, and they need serious improvements in both food quality and customer service.

Absolutely loved the pasta, and pizza. The food is absolutely delicious. I can highly recommend it if you are a fan of pasta and pizza.

My friends and I all had a delicious lunch. I chose the jacket potato with cajun toasted peppers, jackfuit and hummus and the flavours were amazing. Good value compared to similar places in town, staff are friendly and helpful and there is a nice atmosphere. The ice creams look delicious so we will be back in Summer to try them.

Really enjoyed my breakfast at Macchiato, friendly accommodating staff , super quick service and lovely food. Great coffee too.

Excellent place for a drink and a nice atmosphere. There was a special offer on the Monday so the wine was at off-licence price! My only criticism was for the Avo- cetta which was unexciting and bread too thick. Otherwise recommended

Tuve que dar mi experiencia allí tres estrellas, ya que esperamos mucho tiempo hasta que nos sirvieron. El personal se disculpó por nosotros. Había una camarera y un hombre ayudándola, pero necesitaban más personal para atender a la multitud. Definitivamente volveremos con la esperanza de que haya suficiente personal la próxima vez. He visitado Avanti varias veces en los últimos 2 años y me arrepiento de no haber ofrecido una crítica antes , ya que cada visita ha sido excelente. El servicio es siempre amable, educado y muy complaciente y su pizza golpea a todos los demás locales de pizza Chiswick fuera del parque. También tienen una carta de tapas finas (la paella parecía popular en nuestra última visita y se veía increíble) , y una selección decente de vinos. El ambiente es íntimo y acogedor y también ofrecen una zona al aire libre cubierta que es agradable en el verano. Really disappointing. Underwhelming entrance looks like a takeaway. Basically sat in the kitchen, and whilst food tasted nice enough the portions were small, and you had to order a load and overpriced. Eg the fermented cauliflower, with mushrooms for £19 (would have cost 19 pence to do), no accompanying potatoes or veg with that. Wine and beer are very expensive. Wouldn't recommend it.

Service was excellent. Good variety of starters and mains. Food was piping hot and delicious. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely return

food was really good we had pizza! really great taste! unfortunately the service was almost the worst I've ever had! the waitress forgot about us and was busy chatting in the kitchen I had to shout to get her attention! I understand we were the only people in the restaurant . however the only interaction with her was to take the order and serve it. no asking if everything is OK or do we want any more drinks! once she left our food we didn't see her again for 30 minutes!

Very poor service regarding atmosphere and service

La comida estaba muy bien cocinada y la bienvenida del propietario, Paulo, cuando llegamos era cálido y amable. El Antipasti era absolutamente delicioso, pero enorme y una comida por derecho propio. Mi esposa es algo así como una doncella de pasta, y rara vez sabe mejor - para que conste, ella tenía Carbonara y yo tenía el Porcini. Para cerrar, el Tiramisu era ligero y cremoso Un delicioso tinto orgánico (Albarroja) de su propio viñedo en Piemonte fue fantástico. Lástima que no había café disponible, pero nada iba a arruinar una velada gastronómica simplemente maravillosa, servida con calidez y consejos serviciales del propietario. ¡Qué hallazgo de verdad!

Ben era nuestro servidor y era encantador. La comida era genial, y los tés helados de melocotón y el helado era refrescante. Lo recomendaría defo.
