Caffe Macchiato in Rushmoor

I’ve stopped going here, as there’s a guy called Carl who is preaching religion and holding a cross which I don’t appreciate when I’m just trying to have a coffee and a breakfast:-(

Caffe Macchiato is the best place with amazing food, full atmosphere and helpful and kind staff. Very happy, will sure comeback again.

So far downhill since being taken over but yesterday was awful...I ordered a mocha as I walked in and said I'd be staying....I used loo came out sat down and 10 15 minutes later the guy said you like a drink so I reminded him it was me thwt asked him when I came in... I had not eaten so ordered Poached eggs on toast that's it brown toast.....40 bloody minutes but the kitchen was busy...not true...when I walked in it was busy on tables but come in 40 minutes and then cold took back to heat....then not runny all in a terrible visit...also noticed blind had fallen on one side...not going back

We were in Aldershot for a funeral and looked for somewhere to have a quick bite to eat beforehand. We choose Caffe Macchiato by looking at Trip Advisor and were really happy to have found it. We had a Lamb Shawarma Wrap and a Chicken Shawarma Wrap. Both were delicious and the wrap was large with a good amount of filling and a side dish of yogurt dip. They came with a lovely salad which including things like olives and red pepper strips with a tasty dressing. Such a welcome change from the boring salad you often get when eating out. It came to £24.60 for the two meals and two flat whites which we were really happy with. It's too bad we don't live nearer or I'd be visiting this place a lot!

Good outdoor and indoor seating areas. The range of options on the menu was very extensive so lots to satisfy most people. I tried the chicken and pesto panini and had some baklava as well which is well worth trying if you have a sweet tooth. Staff were very friendly too.

I have always visited this restaurant over the years and it has been very enjoyable with good food and good customer service. However, since the new owners have taken over it has gone downhill. The guy that owns it is lovely but the last few times we've been, he's ignored us and been on his phone until we prompt him. I've just been for lunch with my partner and sat in a nearly empty restaurant waiting to be served. I had to walk up to the counter to ask if we could order. We then waited 50 minutes for a panini (which incidentally turned up as a baguette) and a wrap. I had to go up and ask where our food was as I only had an hour for lunch. We decided that we wouldn't tip as usual and wouldn't go back again, such a shame as there is nowhere else in Aldershot as nice. Disappointed :-(

Last visited this cafe here on the drab Union Street thoroughfare over 3yrs ago and I think the layout and management has changed since. It’s table service and although it takes a while for someone to take your order (staffing issues?) it does arrive within an acceptable timescale. The breakfast was fine but my tea had a horrible bitter taste and was served lukewarm in a cup - personally I prefer tea in a pot but maybe I’m overly fully fussy 🤨. Prices seem to have gone up and portion sizes down, but guess that’s a sign of the times 😟. Background muzak when we visited gave the unfortunate ambience of a funeral parlour 😞

Really nice food, well priced, friendly staff. One of the better places to eat in Aldershot. Great menu. Looking forward to sampling the Baklava next time

Well done to the team running this fine Cafe - they are truly delightful and deserve lots of success. Used to go fairly regularly a few years ago but then felt it wasn’t quite what it was…..but sooooo happy I remembered it recently and called in for a lunch. Been back several times already and really recommend to everyone. So much choice to please every taste. I’ve not really got a sweet tooth but seeing the freshly made fine baklava’s by the talented bakers - I bought some for a Greek friend who loves them - and she said they are the best & lightest baklava’s she’s ever tasted - fine praise indeed.

I am so glad that I visited this place. The food was absolutely lovely, although it was difficult to select what to have because of the diverse menu. The level of customer service was impressively high and I shall definitely return.

What a restaurant!! They stayed open just to serve us and were very accommodating. The food was outstanding and very authentic and also exceptional value. The Bill came to about £35 and were left a £10 tip. We will certainly return

I went here for dinner with my husband last week and quite simply it was wonderful, a nice little gem in my hometown that I’m annoyed that I didn’t find out about earlier. The salad was so tasty and also looked sublime, i may bring a few girlfriends here for brunch soon.

We tried the manakeesh (very thin pizza bread) with cheese and za’atar and it was delicious, we shared that and a tricolore salad. Great that the waiter automatically delivered extra plates so that we could share easily. Iced coffees really nice. Ordered their delicious baklava to bring home.

Decided to have a business lunch here and ordered our meal. Looking forward to the starter and were horrified when our starter and sides turned up along with our main meal and sides! Staff oblivious to comments. Ruined our lunch

Went with the intention of having a hit chocolate but after seeing the menu we decided to have breakfast there. The atmosphere was good with big cushy sofas and we ordered to eggs Benedict royal aWhich were lovely and fresh. Also ordered one sparkling water and a coke. The coke glass was clean but had lots of water marks which shows that they don’t regularly polish the glassware which made it quite unappealing. The service could also improve as there wasn’t really any, we sat for about 15 minutes before we were even asked about drinks and when the food arrived we were not checked back. I would go back as the food was lovely but I am not in any rush.

This venue is a favourite bolt hole of mine locally where I often pop in for a latte or a panini but I’ve noticed that under the new management standards are slipping. Popped in after work last week for a panini and a latte. The place was almost empty - half a dozen or so customers. After 10 minutes the young boy who had taken my order came back and asked what type of coffee I’d ordered... so I told him again.After 35 minutes no sign of the panini so I told the manager how long I’d been waiting and was it coming any time soon! There was a bit of shouting between him and the boy in a foreign language and I was told it would be with me in two minutes. 10 minutes later it arrived - but it was barely warm and not hot.I won’t be rushing back any time soon!

There is not a lot going for Aldershot when it comes to eating out unless you want to sample one of the dozens of takeaways. The one exception is Caffe Macchiato on Union Street the main pedestrianised shopping street. It's open from 8.30 for breakfasts and coffees through till 6.00pm. The menu is mainly Italian but with some British favourites like ham, egg and chips and toasted tea cakes. There is a comprehensive range of light meals, snacks and full plates and plenty for the kids to choose from. All the food appears freshly cooked and with good service but not always that talkative. All in all a good family coffee house or eatery and very good value for money

We had lamb shawarma and their super ones with a coffee and it was all delicious. The service was great and very well priced.

Called in here for a coffee before I went to the see Aldershot Fc. Coffee was excellent will definitely call in next time and have something to eat. Staff were very friendly will be back.

I love this place and visit this venue very often -mainly with friends. The food is amazing and the coffee is very good. The staff are very friendly and always give us a warm welcome and the whole place has a very nice ambiance.It also has outdoor seating for smokers or when the sun is shining.

I have been coming with my father, other family members and friends for years. Perfect destination to meet for a coffee / brunch / lunch or afternoon meal. Brilliant quality of food and ingredients, they have a updated menu creating a fusion of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Most things on the menu you can ask for a smaller version like the pastas or salads which is perfect for children , a smaller pallet or for a lighter meal. Lovely selection of pastries and cakes to enjoy with a selection of coffees of many different varieties including iced coffees and syrups for those with a sweet tooth! The staff are so kind and remember your usual orders, good team cohesion and you can tell they are like a family. You also can get takeaway aswell!!

I am a great fan of this Italian style cafe. I was disappointed, however, to order one of my firm favorites, penne verde, to find that I could not finish it because it was much too salty. Nevertheless that was the very first time that I had been disappointed in the food.I shall certainly give them another chance. I am sure it was just a bit of a blip!

What a lovely cafe in Aldershot, truly a hidden little gem in the town. The food is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Such a lovely family run business.

Atmospheric and cosy, compared to the outdated, dreary surroundings of Aldershot. Good drink selection and well presented, tasty meals. Can sit outside in the summer, and sufficient seating for a lunchtime crowd inside. If the staff were polite and could manage a smile now and again, I'd give it 5-stars. Prices are okay.

This little cafe has a very "family run" feel to it. The minute we walked in, we felt warm and welcomed. As soon as we sat down, someone came over and asked if we wanted hot drinks (it was raining outside), and they were happy to make any of their specialty coffees with sugar-free syrup for me. My husband had the Mushroom risotto and I had the meatballs. I don't eat very much, and the meatballs were the perfect size for me! We plan on returning regularly.

It's so lovely to have a truly independent place like this in the town centre. Pasta is lovely salads are fab. Lovely place would recommend

I would say I am a regular customer here as the food is great! The eggs benedict they do is amazing. However, the waiter and waitresses seem to be getting worse. It's fine when the manager/owner is there but on this day he wasn't here. Took about 20 minutes for them to ask me what I wanted and even then it was like "what?"

It is over a year since I was last at this Italian style cafe. Once again, whilst having the car valeted around the corner I popped in for a single course lunch. Penne with chicken and spinach in a cream sauce washed down with a glass of the house red. It was excellent. Highly recommended for the quality of its café food , the efficiency of the staff and the value of the menu.

Aldershot is a drab town and Union St is no different. Decided to try this cafe for a change and have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Order at counter and your order will be table served. Menu has a wide variety of options to choose from and although the seating feels a bit cramped, the only problem is if customers talk loudly (as happened when we visited). Staff are great and service quick - there’s also a rack of papers if you want a read.

There is nothing i can fault with this great place.The coffee/food are both top quality.It is well run by Polish people,they have obviously put a lot of thought into Macchiato.Simply the best of the best.

Highly over-priced coffee, average paninni and over-stretched service. Confusion at the till, where they would have lost ten pounds, on a twelve pound bill - had I not pointed out their error. Pity the food and service quality, did not match my honesty!

Our son came down earlier this week and we said we'd take him to lunch..We often come in here for a snack but have never eaten here as such I was very pleased with the quality taste and freshness of the food. Good selection on the menu and the daily soup is always good Made from scratch every day by the chef

Have been here a number of times and the food is consistently very good. It's nicely decorated inside with a nice relaxing atmosphere. The portions for Greek salads are huge and I adore their milkshakes too! You can quite easily walk past this place without noticing but this is arguably one of the best cafés in the area, a visit is recommended.

Great place to go for a very fine breakfast, well cooked and presented with very friendly staff. The atmosphere was good and the décor and seating very good. Well worth a visit even for afternoon tea. The coffee is good recommend for all round good catering, First Class.

Una vez más, mientras que tener el coche dejamos a la vuelta de la esquina, que tenía el almuerzo en el café de estilo italiano. Penne con pollo en salsa de crema, regados con una copa de tinto de la casa. Fue excelente. Altamente recomendado por la calidad de su café, la eficiencia del personal y la relación calidad-precio del menú.

Now that a certain large department store is no longer in Aldershot i no longer go there to shop which is sad because i was born and bred in Aldershot and have a fondness for the town. However, yesterday myself and a friend met up for brunch at Cafe Macchiato and would highly recommend this Cafe to everyone!We had coffee and panini's and they were brilliant. Certainly the best i have tasted in many other eateries. I struggled to get through mine and looking at dishes that were being served to people sitting around us, the portions looked equally large.Well done to everyone at Cafe Macchiato, Aldershot needs more places like yours. It is a shame it is not open in the evenings, i'm sure there would be enough trade once word got out. Will be returning!

My daughter and I went to caffe machiato for the 1st time yesterday. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Excellent value for money. We will be making this our regular place from now on

only down side its closes sundays and early evenings mon to friday but as having been a pizza pasta chef i know good fresh food and its right up there

Aldershot after a long decline is slowly on the up and Cafe Macchiato is example of its growing resurgence! Food is excellent..service and staff friendly and welcoming and the decor tasteful and civilised! A long overdue oasis for a tired high street! Always busy as a sign the town requires more like it! Would recommend to anyone!

It is over 6 months since I last has a pasta lunch at this Italian styled restaurant. The food is particularly good. The staff are efficient and friendly. For a lunch it is perfect for me. I particularly liked the penne al verde, chicken spinach and paste in a cream sauce. As good as it gets. The house red wine is very good and sensibly priced.Highly recommended in a sea of mediocrity.

I often pop in here when I'm in town for a cappuccino and a slice of apple tart and ice cream. This is a great little eatery and is somewhat more upmarket than most of the other similar local establishments. The ambience is pleasant, the staff are friendly and the clientele (usually) are quite civilised. I recommend Caffe Macchiato for solo diners, couples and small groups wanting somewhere convivial locally to meet.

I've always found this cafe preferable to the usual Costa or chain cafes that are on every High street, the staff are friendly and the food is always prepared freshly for you. Chocolate cake is yummy and the Tiramasu!

Came here after leaving a previous cafe that was clearly struggling. Caffe Macchiato had a calm atmosphere, was clean, tables wiped after use, and coffee is good. Customers appear to be relaxed eating and drinking here. I'll be back. That is all.

Came here because I was early for a meeting. Found inexpensive on-street parking 100 yards away and this was the first place I came to in the pedestrian zone. First impression: clean, airy, plenty of space; friendly and welcoming staff. Nice pastry, chilled water and a well made espresso, although the coffee was slightly harsh for my palate; I prefer an emphasis on Arabica. Love(d) this place - I really did!! No longer than 6 months ago this place was brilliant - food was awesome and you got generous portion sizes and so I was happy to pay their premium prices... However, things have changed recently and not only have portion sizes gone down, but prices have also gone up and there's less available on the menu. Gutted!Overall it's still a decent place and the food is still good quality but the pricing has become a bit extreme especially for the smaller portions now but also due to the lack of customer service... Put it this way a bacon sandwich (even without their side salad) still cost me £5 - I used to be able to get one of their full breakfasts for less than that!It's a shame things have gone downhill but still one of the better places to go in Aldershot!

The food is excellent, and the restaurant is very comfortable. A taste of Italy in the middle of Aldershot, in typically understated Italian style. The staff are attentive, polite and efficient.

When ever my friend is in town we go to Caffe Macchiato for Eggs Benedict and it is to die for. The staff are very friendly and the food is just amazing I would highly recommend.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I have not eaten here, however the coffee is a tasty drink and the easy chairs are very comfortable, the decor clean and pleasant .I might try a light meal next time around.

Caffe Macchiato is well staffed by pleasant staff who are professional in all aspects. The premises are ideal for two or more people to meet and have a quiet coversation. The Caffe attracts many business people and couples. Wine and beer are both available but is not overbearing. Nice place for familes and couples. The menue offers something for everybody with a wide choice of pasta and traditionl english food.

We called in for Saturday afternoon meal and were welcomed. High chair for the little one and tables for 4 adults.The meals were superb - very generous portions and varied. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Met up with a friend for lunch - ordered carbonara which was the best one I have eaten in a restaurant in the UK. Would recommend this to anyone, especially for a leisurely lunch. The atmosphere is very friendly and the menu choice was very good.

This place is amazing, great food and good wine with a brilliant atmosphere. My partner and I often pop in for lunch or a early dinner and everytime we are very pleased with the service and most importantly customer attention, food is all fresh, and freshly cooked, to order.The only way I can describe this restaurant is a little piece of the continent in Aldershot. Caffe Macchiato is a beautiful coffee shop in the centre of Aldershot. Most of the staff are Italian and the food is always delicious. Everything is freshly cooked and, if you like Italian food, a visit to this cafe has to be on your list. My son and I visit for lunch every week and have never been disappointed

Visit nearly every Saturday for coffee and cake or light lunch. Good atmosphere. Attentive staff and good food. Especially love the art work on the walls and the scooter by the toilets!

I'm keeping this simple ! What a hidden gem , been here a few times now weather it being just a coffee or breakfast to lunch too. The food is superb and good value and the restaurant is really nicely presented and very relaxing. Staff are nice too and the young waitress is friendly and welcoming. Really recommend this place. Not much good left in Aldershot but this is a great place.

It was with some trepidation that I ventured into the pedestrian precinct of Aldershot. To say this place is a little run down is somewhat of an understatement. BUT pop into Caffe Macchiato and you are in for a real treat. It is cosy and welcoming. The coffee is beyond excellent. I had a dish of Penne Verde, pasta, spinach and chicken in a white wine and cream sauce. I have not had better. Not in the heart of Chelsea or anywhere else. This food is seriously good. With a couple of glasses of the house red and a large expresso to finish I still had change from £20. Brilliant.Would I go again? Without a shadow of doubt. Do not be put of by the surrounds. Go!

Hidden in the rather run down military town of Aldershot is this wonderful little gem. After seeing the other reviews and knowing we were going to be in the area I and two others decided to give it a go. There is a selection of different types of seating from sofas to more formal tables. We took a more formal table that could see the counter and into the kitchen as we planned to eat lunch. It all looked generally clean and had a welcoming atmosphere.Unfortunately there was a slight mix up with one of the dishes ordered but they didn't hesitate to whip,it away for replacement. However, the dish smelt and looked so good that the member of our party who's order it was asked if he could keep it.....they took some convincing but let him in the end and it was what can only be described as a fortuitous accident.....he loved it! All the food was delicious, no muddy, flavours, chicken tasted like chicken, prawns like prawns but they sat comfortably amongst the other flavours that created each dish. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the garlic bread crispy. The portions were large enough to be plenty but not oversized. If you don't have a good appetite you might find yourself leaving a little.My ratings are based upon what you expect from the type of business and its location and for an independent "cafe" in this location it deserves more than a 5. If they were closer I would probably find myself eating there often.

So far I have only tried the coffee and pastry selection but will definitely be having lunch there sometime soon. It's a shame they are not open in the evenings as I would probably visit before or after a visit to the cinema/theatre.

Came here for late lunch on Saturday, service was excellent as always served with a smile. Whenever we come here we always order from the breakfast items so we decided to try their lunch and we weren't disappointed. Served with a large bowl of salad I ordered the chicken with tomato and garlic sauce with chips. This were served on a large plate and I was so stuffed I didn't need dinner that night as we'd been given such a large plate of good food. Can't wait to go back. Wish this place would open on Sundays!
