Poma in East Riding of Yorkshire

Lack lustre service with a team more interested in singing and giggling (I'm all for a happy team, but in a small cafe very overpowering) then clearing tables and serving. Problem with order resulted in a replacement just plomped on table with no apology. Particular interesting at 4.15 they were commenting on not wanting customers in as it closes at 5 - unprofessional at best! Training in customer experience severely required, and quickly.

What a superb business this is. Despite being so busy we were served promptly and wow the choice was amazing. We had ice cream and it was the most delicious ice cream we have ever had! A true gem of a business with superb staff!

Stunning Gelato, we love Poma but today I had a three scoop waffle cone with Dark Chocolate, Pistachio and Maple and pecan, gosh they were all fabulous! Go try for yourself!

Stopped for a light snack and hot beverage. Unfortunately you couldn’t accommodate such a large party, however those of us who did get seated very much enjoyed our visit. Friendly staff along with nice hot drinks selection and cakes. Thank you

Whilst shopping in Beverley my wife & I wanted a coffee & came across Poma & decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. My wife had an americano & I had a latte. We were welcomed on entering by a cheerful greeting, gave our order & asked to sit down & we would be served. The staff were very polite, pleasant & cheerful. The cafe was very clean & also had a good selection of cakes & ice creams. The coffee was excellent. We would highly recommend this cafe. This was our first visit but we will be back.

Visited with a couple friends over the Christmas period. Pleasant interior, got sat by a cosy window table to people watch. Ordered scrambled egg on toast - delicious! Expected to just get one slice, but got two packed with egg! Not a fan of hot drinks so asked the girl at the counter if she would be able to make an iced coffee for me (didn't see that option on the menu) she was more than happy to make the drink for me though, great service.

Beverley generally seems to cater better for dogs than vegans, with at least one specialist doggy shop, so we were delighted to discover Poma. It isn't exclusively vegan by any means but there are several dishes to choose from. It's a rea; treat for us to go there.

Poma always serve delicious food and drink. They know how to make an excellent flat white, they have a huge range of vegan options at no extra cost and their menu is unlike anywhere else in Beverley. We came for a vegan hot dog and wow it was amazing, I’ve been craving a hot dog for so long but it’s impossible to find any vegetarian! It’s be awesome to see this on the menu as a longer term choice. The broccoli teriyaki flatbread was awesome too. And the portion sizes are fab and always so affordable. Thanks Poma for yet another lovely visit!

Myself and my daughter visited Poma and had some drinks which were really delicious and the service was quick. However, when we arrived we asked for the table to be cleared and the waitresses acted like we were inconveniencing them, rudely saying they "didn't have time" to do this despite chatting happily behind the counter when we walked in. There were multiple tables that needed clearing and very few other customers in the cafe. The toilet was really unclean- there was water all over the floor and the toilet seat was dirty.

Eaten here twice now and really enjoyed our meals both time. Lovely coffee too. Some refreshingly different dishes on offer, today I had the goats cheese and roast vegetable sandwich with the bean salad. Scrumptious! Busy cafe and good ice cream trade too, Staff a little slow to clear tables, all were empty but uncleared. Managed to find one that was clean, but they were busy and very efficient and friendly taking our order.

I hate to leave these type of reviews, however I feel compelled after waiting 30 minutes for a simple lunch dish. During this, we had to endure listening to one staff member singing loudly along to every song on the radio. No apologies despite the obvious long wait. We ate and left feeling staff couldn't careless. I can only assume from the endless sound of pots clanging and karaoke (and since there werent any other food orders before us) that emptying the dishwasher and singing along was the priority of the moment. What a shame. Please remind staff customers don't mind waiting but we do expect some priority over the pots and staff enjoying themselves.

Great little independent cafe, honest, reliable, charming. The gelato is worth the trip alone but with sweet cakes, bakes and savouries to boot it’s a must whenever in Beverley. Espresso not bad either.

First time visiting Poma and I’m so impressed! As a veggie/vegan I find it hard to eat out and I didn’t realise how many options there would be here and how delicious it would be too! I will be returning - often

An absolutely lovely venue, tastefully furnished with great food and friendly staff. Food is prepared fresh on site and it really shows - it's delicious! We'll be back for ice cream when the weather's warmer!

this is a small cafe at the minster endof beverley high street. It sells the best ice cream i have ever tasted(even better than my own) worth a trip for a cornet

Not many ice cream flavours on offer, but some unusual and all interesting. Different size cones available. I would highly recommend the mango and raspberry one ! Some tables available outside in a very nice setting.
