We stayed nearby and had our first meal on Saturday night it was so so good we had to come again the following Thursday ! There is so much to choose from. Staff are very welcoming and service faultless. Food is excellent quality and worth every penny.

A few things... First and I think most important is food , so fresh ingredients, good taste, sensible portions sizes..., but far away from proper Italian food... We have- bruschetta ( very simple - good taste ) Fish balls ( good taste but nothing special) Decorations was " English style nothing close to Italian style" Mains- Lasagne( baby size , our choice) big portion, well made it, good taste. - linguine with prowns ( special offer, more expensive like rest of linguine's) delicious a few good size prawns. - Pizza Napoli, very well dough , cooked perfectly, it was an only 1 dish that I can compare with what we have in Italy ( several times) ... worth recommending... Staff very friendly, except one situation when the "show man -waiter" asked me "" sorry I'm confused, where are you come from""🤔🤦‍♂️🤔🤦‍♂️ Restaurant as a general needs some refreshments... Generally, if You are not a refined connoisseur of Italian cuisine and little things don't matter you,then you will enjoyed with fresh good food , tastes very well an a bit away from Italy...

It was OK, but I've been served slower at multi site restaurants. As such, with a family owned/ operated Italian of many years, I expect a slower, more family orientated experience. It was more a turn and burn the covers than a night out. The bill for two was £87 , the welcome to exit was less than an hour. The food was OK,

We ate here after a day’s cycling needing something tasty and filling to refuel. The pizzas were excellent with lovely thin bases and ample toppings. Good atmosphere and service.

Been coming here for years and always had consistently good food. I would 100% recommend the garlic bread for starter. Staff are really nice and a large range of foods to choose from. The only thing I would recommend they improve on is the decoration. It's very sparse.

We all enjoyed our meals. Food good and plenty of it. My only complaint (not serious!) - the dessert was huge (I had tiramasu)! The atmosphere and service was very good.

This great family restaurant had me hooked at Calzone. The quality of the Calzone with a side of bolognese sauce included is my favourite from their tasty menu. Friendly service but always book to avoid disappointment.

Please please please don't use tinned mushrooms on your pizza or in anything they are soggy and tasteless! Why have Pan and Vino started doing this!? Fresh mushrooms are an absolute must for an authentic Italian restaurant!

Great food, reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. They were very polite and went out of their way to make us feel looked after. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good and we will return. Also the Nutella cheesecake is to die for.

The pasta and the tiramisu were absolutely marvellous! The portions were generous and the staff members were really nice. A must-go Italian place in Pocklington. My husband and I will definitely be back!

We've been worried about this eatery for some time...a bit care worn...menu tired...still can't get in mind!!...anyways , got in this evening. Really a great return to form. Pleasant atmos...staff willing.( always good anyways) ..menu interesting...brilliant and tasty...hope we can get in again...even do a not half bad Negroni ... yes!...cocktails!!

Wow!!! I've lived in Pocklington since 2007 and Pane E Vino has always been exceptional. Wonderful food and service!!!

Only in the area for one night but was amazed by the quality of everything. Really busy on a Sunday night too which was a good sign for us that it would be a good meal and it really didn't disappoint. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through or new to the area. Staff were all very lovely too.

Fantastic - they were very accommodating to our vegan diet and offered to make vegan versions of anything from their menu, 10/10!

Had a last minute booking which they luckily could accommodate. Fantastic service by Francis, she was welcoming and friendly. Didn't catch the name of the other waiter but it was authentic to hearing him speak in Italian. Gorgeous food and house red! Will definitely visit again.

We came here as was spending a couple of nights nearby and were so glad we did. We prebooked and arrived slightly earlier and was greeted at the door by friendly staff then shown to our table. The setting was really nice and was warm inside. The food was phenomenal..we had a pizza with tomato base to share for starters and then Lasagne and Mushroom and gorgonzola Risotto for mains. The lasagne was the best I have ever had. The mince must have been slow cooked and done in some kind of sauce as it was so tasty. Exceptional service and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.

Lovely family run Italian. Booked for my wife's birthday, and we took our three little'ones. We loved it, the boys loved it and we'll certainly be back.

Authentic Italian bistro style restaurant with a good range of food from pasta and pizza to chicken fish and meat. Well cooked and piping hot. Excellent wine by the glass but no choice. Limited wine selection by the bottle but if the quality of the house wine was anything to go by then that doesn't matter! We went early on a Sunday just as it opened and we're lucky to get a table. Given how full it was at 6pm BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Highly recommended.

Behind a dark facade from the street, this restaurant serves very tasty Italian food. It’s not obvious just from walking by, but step inside and the food and service are lovely. Enjoyed cannelloni , very hot but, super tasty.

We rang up previously prior to ordering to ask if they could accommodate a big order. We were told to ring again at 6:30 and the phone wasn’t working. We drove to the restaurant and was told they had a powercut but they were still cooking orders. We were told weren’t able to order. We’ve tried several times prior to this to order from this place but have never been successful. Was supposed to be a treat for the groom the night before his wedding but i guess we’ll have to settle for takeaway pizza from the kebab shop instead

Pizzas lovely the cannelloni arrived and I was told to be careful the dish was hot. Boiling was the better description as I touched the dish to move it and got a blister on my finger. Had to wait a while to let it cool before able to eat it. Was put off!!!

We had a party of nine and were very well looked after Generous plates of very tasty byfood and very fair prices

Delicious antipasti starter with garlic bread and olives. First class sea food linguini.... Service with a smile and helpful and attentive... 6 of us with 2 children... Great experience...

The food is absolutely fabulous! I went with an American friend. She said she’d pay BUT she never left a tip! Next time I’m going with somebody else!!

We were a group of six, we were seated promptly. I would recommend to book like we had has people were turned away. They were very prompt at taking your order and bringing your drinks. The food was good size portions and very hot. They were a attentive at bringing condiments, mozzarella, pepper, extra drinks. We split the bill and was sorted out very easily. A very pleasant visit. I would recommend.

Pane E Vino was a wonderful experience. We were warmly welcomed into the restaurant and all of the staff were kind, helpful and welcoming. Our whole meal was excellent, I would highly recommend the linguine dishes.

Having been on a 9 day trip around Yorkshire, we were only in Pocklington for one night. We felt very welcomed into this comfortable friendly restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were attentive and efficient, really helpful. The food was truly delicious – sauces to remember, I struggle to recall an Italian meal I enjoyed more.

Unfortunate visit. I would have hoped, with a potentially promising menu, that the food would have been exceptional. On opening the door, the smell was inviting. However, the pizza (their spicy one) was bland. From the base, to the sauce, to the meats used even, all bland. Base was tasteless and not dissimilar to a Jacob’s cracker. The tomato sauce was watery and unseasoned and there were large amounts of peppers that just added to the watery tastelessness of the pizza. That said, the garlic mushroom starter was tasty, albeit over £8 for mushrooms on a small slice of bread and the alforno was definitely better than the pizza and a sizeable portion. Service was ok but nothing offered for the pizza that a large amount was left. Disappointing to be honest.

It's little surprise Pane Vino haven't bothered to claim this TripAdvisor listing, respond to any customers and take onboard everyone's suggestions. They get away with murder in there, average, often microwaved food with a dated and dirty interior. They have a captive audience of locals, some of which are fooled into thinking it's alright. Pocklington deserves a lot better.

We visited early on a Tuesday evening. We had met with family as it was a good half way point for us as we are in York and family in Hull. The food was fantastic. A few of us had pizzas, a few had lasagne and carbonara and starters so a good range was tried. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and found the prices to be reasonable. My fav was the prawn starter! The prawns were incredible. The staff were also really friendly and the place was clean and well presented. So ticks all of the boxes. We will definitely be returning.

Always super friendly Family run Sardinian food . Excellent and varied dishes always freshly made to a high standard . We have been here many times over the years . It is the best restaurant in the area , not just Pocklington Take away service also available

We visited the restaurant early evening on a Saturday with our grandchildren. We needed to eat quickly since we were going afterwards to the theatre next door so we all chose pizzas. They were delicious. Thin crispy crust and the ham on mine tasted home cooked. We'll definitely go again when we have time to enjoy a full meal.

Staying at a local log cabin and was recommended to eat here. Called to see if they had a table did nt think it would be an issue on a Wednesday evening but they only had tables at 8 30 which shows it must be...

Having read the rave reviews we were looking forward to a taste of Italy . Sadly disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful , pizzas were good but the pasta dishes were average to poor, tasted like supermarket pre cooked chicken pieces in the pasta dish....

Went out with family, ordered some different dishes and a starter. The food came quickly and was absolutely amazing. The staff were lovely and friendly - a really great meal out.

Great little find as we were staying in a tiny village with no amenities so was great to find a nice restaurant to eat at. Staff were great, and food portions were extremely generous. Only negative is that the decor lacks authenticity for an Italian...

The place is a little soulless to be honest. I feel it is relying on a few locals who have little choice to dine elsewhere so keep returning pretending the place is amazing. It is not. Everything was fine, I couldn't really complain about anything...

Because this place is so busy I expected something special but I was disappointed. The prawn starter was too salty, the chicken pasta main course was bland and short of chicken. My husband's calzone pizza was overcooked and, despite promising a lot of ingredients, was mainly filled with thinly sliced ham. Not very impressed.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, the food is great, but the staff are marvelous! The customer service is way beyond what you normally receive these days, next time we come back up this way we'll be back

Been over a month since we visited and it's take me that long to figure out what to say. Because on one hand it was exceptional, on the other, diabolical. The pizzas had to be some of the best I've tasted in the whole of the UK and defo rates five stars. Really flavourful and delicious. But the fregulla verdure was a disaster and left 2 members of the party unwell. But the worst bit was that THREE times we asked if they had lactose free dairy. Once on the phone, once when we made the booking, and finally when we arrived 30 minutes early for our table (leaving extra time so I could go and buy some lactose free cream for them to use). EVERY SINGLE TIME they reassured me they had lactose free dairy I even saw the chef nod when the waitress asked him. So we relaxed, and prepared to enjoy the evening. When we came to order we asked for lactose free carbonara... only to be told that they couldn't do it, they had no lactose free products.... I could have screamed. The dinner was for my dad who is 102. He adores creamy food and, as it was a celebration, I wanted him to have a meal I knew he'd love. That so many staff lied about this was infuriating and upsetting. Not because we didn't 'get our way', we would have been had we known beforehand, but I hate being lied to. I am a chef by profession, I know what's involved in making separate dishes for painful customers and I know it's a pain but next time guys, don't lie. Tell your front of house not to lie, tell your chefs not to lie. We wouldn't have cancelled the booking, but we would have known to manage expectations. But again, one of the best pizza's I've had in years :/

What can I say about this beautiful place, my husband and I are there this evening and from start to finish we had really good food ,drinks and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The food is gorgeous, and plenty of it, we were so full. Staff are very attentive, thank you for such a lovely evening, we will definitely return to sample more there food .

Visited last night for a family meal. It was all absolutely delicious. The garlic bread was fantastic, the salmon pasta dish was absolutely gorgeous, so tasty and easily the best i’ve ever had. Followed by Nutella cheesecake which was perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

Busy and quite noisy, but friendly with a good atmosphere. Excellent food with very large portions- don't have a starter unless you are v hungry! Recommended.

Great little Italian restaurant. It was fairly quiet when we visited, with only about half the tables in use. No surprise then that service was prompt and helpful, our waitress was excellent helping us choose from the menu and nothing was too much trouble for her. Food was excellent and we will definitely be making a return visit.

Went here tonight with my husband for my birthday meal, enjoyed listening to staff singing happy birthday to someone else in the restaurant as well as a very nice meal😁❤️. There were no faults-I appreciated the chef talking to us (wish I knew more Italian). Will definitely go back 😁 xxx

Great take away food, however make sure you park in the bays correctly, back wheel over hanging the bay which is hard to see in the dark and a £50 ticket to pay
