We visited this little Italian restaurant tonight and had the most amazing time. The menu caters for all ages and the food was fresh and very flavoursome. The owners and waitress were very warm, welcoming and friendly. Amy served us and she spent time talking us through the menu and nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive and served our food as if she prepared it herself. The restaurant is a family business and that’s what made it even more special and authentic. Despite the name of the restaurant, it serves vastly more than just pizzas and all the food is very reasonably priced. One of the best local Italian restaurants we’ve visited. Will definitely be returning and I’d fully encourage others to visit. Thank you to all the staff as you made our night out special.

We have eaten at the Pizza Place on many occasions and love the friendly family atmosphere. The food is excellent and the team very engaging. Yesterday we booked the whole restaurant for my wife’s retirement party and they did us proud. Serving 30 people at the same time with hot tasty food is not easy, but they managed it brilliantly. Paul, Sharron and Amy looked after us so well and we will be back again and again. Thank you all ( thanks to chef too but I forgot his name)

Absolutely amazing place. Waitresses couldn't have been more helpful and even the chef came out to make sure my food was OK when we had eaten when I needed to ask for a specification with my dish. Food was delicious and we can't wait to go back

We were out and about quite late looking for a restaurant we could still have dinner. We were greeted warmly here and it was no problem at all to get food. The food was very good. You could taste that everything was homemade. It was delicious. The father cooks, the daughter serves. Everyone was warm and very accommodating. We would be happy to come back.

Visited due to previous reviews. Lad preparing pizza was eating out of the containers, as he worked, waitress was eating out the back every time I looked up? Do not understand the previous reviews?

Really lovely atmosphere and a place where you don’t feel rushed through your meals. The food was delicious, hot and freshly made. Stuffed mushrooms Prawn and advocado Cesar bread All lovely starters. Mains were lite carbonara, lasagne, bbq chicken pizza and a mista salad. Absolutely lovely and polished off! The hosts are really friendly and can’t do enough to make sure you’re happy with your meal. Can’t wait to go back again soon. Thank you.

I don’t normally leave reviews, and this isn’t our first visit either, but this place is fantastic and if you don’t visit you’re missing out. The pizzas are freshly made and cooked to perfection,. Prices are incredibly reasonable and service is friendly. For a local business this place is a little gem.

Really enjoyed the food, all items on the menu were really affordable and came hot and tasting delicious. The only issue was the number of people in the restaurant could do with being busier to have a better atmosphere but the staff or food could not be faulted.

My favourite pizza restaurant in the area! Pizza Place never ceases to impress, the food is exceptional as can be seen from the photo's. I also like the fact it is a small family run business, and the owners are very much hands on - always friendly and polite, making sure all customers are looked after. Myself and my partner have been eating here for a number of years, and always prefer to eat here rather than some of the main chains. Would highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms - legitimately the best mushrooms I've ever tasted!!

Slow service pizza not fully cooked don't sit on a table by the door as if it's raining outside you get splashed by a leak in the window that they know about. Took over two hours to get our food. Conditions inside the restaurant very poor needs cleaning and major improvements to walls and ceiling.

Our family often visit this small Italian restaurant where the food is always delicious and the service from the friendly owners is excellent. Very clean too with proper tablecloths and candles. We all enjoy the freshly cooked pasta dishes and piping hot pizzas straight from the oven with a choice of tasty salads. Selection of ice cream flavours & other desserts for those who still have tummy room! Best to book a table beforehand as they are very popular. They also offer a takeaway service. My personal favourite in the Bexley area - even the music they play is perfect! Thank you to Paul & Sharon for another great welcome last night - we will be back again soon :)

A little expensive but worth the money! I don’t really like thin crust pizzas so Paul, the owner, always makes mine with a thicker base and it’s no problem for him! Food is very, very tasty!. The dough balls are always my go to and they have an amazing chocolate cake on the dessert menu. Staff are very friendly and attentive and always offer service with a smile. The restaurant itself is small and cozy which gives it a warm, welcoming family feel.

Ordered this on Uber Eats for me and partner .... we opened the pizza box and both gave eachother the same disappointed look. The pizza was expensive and tiny, not cut into slices and the toppings were of poor quality. Mine tasted like a pot noodle. I really am confused as to why there are so many good reviews - this pizza would be nice after a night out but I wouldn’t recommend eating whilst sober. :( :( cost £25 with the garlic bread :(:(

We came here on recommendation of my husband's friend. I thought we would be impressed seeing as he had recommended it to us. We pre-booked a week beforehand and specified where we would like to sit. On the night we had to wait as the table had been given to some-one else. Luckily we were not in a hurry to eat. The waitress was a bit ditsy but polite had to wait a bit to be served even though it wasn't busy. The food was ok nothing to rave about really. The atmosphere was ok-ish. And the price of the food was a little bit pricey for what it was. Would I go back again ? Not really.

My family and I attended our friends daughters 18th Birthday Part at the Pizza Place. They had reserved the whole restaurant. I had never eaten here before, to be honest I didn't even know the place existed. I have nothing but admiration and praise for the owner and staff, considering we were all one big booking each course came out of the kitchen in a timely manor and piping hot. The food was delicious and having spotted dick and custard for dessert finished the meal off nicely. Top marks to the Pizza Place what an awesome night!!!

Went there with 11 friends and family on Saturday night to celebrate my 50th birthday. Even though I messed up the booking (forgot to include myself!) another table was immediately set up with no fuss or recriminations. The food was superb as always, very reasonably priced and the friendly service and cosy atmosphere made for a really great evening. Whether you're going there for a family do, birthday celebration or couple's night out you won't be disappointed.

Came here for the first time this week... and disappointed I haven't visited sooner! Food is very tasty and the pizzas taste just like those in Italy. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is pretty and cosy. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes Italian food. I shall definitely be Back!

Pizzas were so delicious with empty plates all round & kindly tailor made a fish pizza to my husband's taste. They also said they could make sure they had some lacto or gluten free bases if a couple of days notice was given. Perfect evening & very friendly.

Love this place there are no negatives friendly family run place, been comimg here for the past five nearly six years, this time i visited on the 23rd of august for my birthday as always the waitress goes the extra mile to make you feel happy in fact all the staff have smiles, they look geniuely happy to be there.

We visited the night before my wife gave birth to our first child. A fantastic meal and a very nice chat with the owner who was waiting on his grandchild also.

Been going here for over 15 years and always lovely to visit. Cosy, friendly and unlike the pizza chains, the pizza is made from fresh dough and individually made in an open kitchen for you to see. Recommend the pesto chicken pizza

This is a small family run eatery with impeccable service. The food is always piping hot and homely. We've visited here since our children were babies either sat happily sleeping in their pushchairs or at the table when older. The restaurant opens at 6pm and is a dining room from home without the washing up so great if you want family fare without the effort! Always made to feel welcomed. It's an easy going restaurant so if it's busy and you haven't booked be prepared to wait for your food and sip some wine! Go with the flow. The food is lovely and comforting. The pizzas are cooked in the oven in front of you. Would highly recommend this for those people who enjoy a relaxed evening, lovely welcoming service and homely pizza or pasta! The lasagne is amazing but order the garlic bread to dunk up the sauce! Love this place!

We visited this restaurant recently on a Wednesday night as it's local and we hadn't tried the place yet. The restaurant looked quite nice from the outside and the waitress was friendly on arrival and let us have our choice of seat as it was quiet.We ordered a bottle of wine which the waitress couldn't open so she just handed it to me and said "I'll leave you to open that and pour yourself". We ordered the Ceaser Garlic Bread to start based on a good review, this just turned out to be shop bought garlic baguette with melted cheese on top, very disappointing. The pizzas for the mains were also disappointing, under cooked and soggy as they had been cooked in a frying pan, the vegetable toppings were raw and crunchy and it generally didn't have much flavour... needed lots of chilli oil to liven it up but even this wasn't spicy!We also thought the restaurant itself looked very tired, it had cracked and missing tiles in the toilets and a well used hand towel instead of a dryer or tissues for drying your hands which I don't think is very hygienic.Overall, it was a disappointing meal and we won't be going back.

Having been coming here for couple of years with my family. Food is always spot on. Can never fault it. If there is going to be a little wait on food they always tell you. Value for money is also good. My only negative comment is it could do with a little update, in that the chairs do feel like some could break if you sit on them. I always change them to be on safe side :) also they don't open until 6pm which can be a little late for young children.

This was about the 5th time we visited and is just great.Nice little selection of pizzas and pastas. Kept simple but very well done. All priced very reasonably. Nice selection of wines and beers to suit every taste. Hospitality is wonderful as you almost always find with small family run restaurants.Great for an occasion or a spur of the moment thing. Highly recommend if you like the Italian feel. If you go and struggle to decide can highly recommend the meatball calzone and cannelloni.

I think we could class ourselves as irregular regulars and have been a few times now. We have always had faultless friendly service. Food - whether pizza or pasta is very tasty and excellent value for money. The dough balls are superb! Wine list is limited but they are very good and reasonably priced. It is a shame that the toilets do need some work, but this is the only negative. The owner is so accommodating that I am surprised by the previous comments on service. Don't be put off by these please.

Have been coming here since children small. They are now 21 and 14. Food always great and freshly cooked. Service friendly and you are never rushed. New chocolate cake amazing but very chocolately - nothing wrong with that! I can fault this lovely friendly small restaurant. It is a an absolute gem. Just had a lovely comfortable Friday night with family, good food and a bottle of prosecco and walking distance from home. What more could you ask for?

After seeing several good reviews on here, we decided to visit for a family members birthday.We arrived and were stuck next to the door, normally this isn't a problem but with a dodgy door that people struggle to open/close, it became a huge problem the whole night. We were constantly up and down closing the door because it was being left open on a cold march evening. The service was extremely slow, it took 45mins for a starter, The bruschetta was lazy, with no seasoning or basil and just huge chunks of tomato which was plain and boring, an hour after our our mains arrived, i had a seafood pasta which all stuck together and had a clump of tomato sauce dumped on top and almost an hour for our desserts (some simple ice cream and profiteroles, when the desserts finally arrived, the waitress exclaimed that she couldn't get to the freezer because they were doing pasta, why that meant almost an hours wait, I do not know. I had to ask one waitress 4 times for a drinks menu and finally received it after asking a waiter. Also, the toilet was absolutely disgusting, puddles of water on the floor which had dripped down from the ceiling, the sink was black and dirty and you were provided with one towel to dry your hands, which i find unusual and quite unhygienic.Overall, a disappointing and fairly tasteless meal. Will not be returning.

Pizza Place is a small family run pizzeria in Bexley, Kent. The charm are the friendly staff who make your dining experience special. Many of the staff are youngsters who have been given their first chance of employment by the owner. In doing so he has maintained a great atmosphere. The food is of a good standard, and most of it home made. Meatballs made from scratch as well as the ministrone soup.I would highly recommend the meatball calzone, which you can have as spicy as you like.A nice relaxing evening out - if you want to go on a weekend make sure you book, it does get busy

Last minute decision so had not booked. We were given a table close to serving area and told there would be a wait for service which was fair enough but there was another better vacant table unused that we were not offered. Wait was not too long and we were provided with drinks in the meantime. Food was good, I had Spaghetti Bolognese and my wife a Vegetable Calzoni. After that however we were not offered any desert or coffee. The tables are quite close to each other and only paper napkins are provided. The back part of this fairly small restaurant needs some attention there are some holes in the ceiling. The prices are very reasonable however and this appears to be a family run restaurant that has been in situ for many years. The fact that most of the tables were occupied on a Thursday night speaks volumes.

This was our 2nd time here, there were 3 other birthday parties here at the time. Service was good, this is a family pizzeria and it makes a difference. There were 5 of us, we could not fault the food which was a mixture of pasta, pizza and lasagne which was especially good. Price was very reasonable, the same would off cost you double in Pizza Express. Music is good as well, a good all round balance.

This was our first time at this restaurant, as we have walked past many times before but it has always been packed, but this time we were lucky. Lovely feel to this place with a friendly waitress service. Although this is a small restaurant the tables had a decent amount of space around them and you were not all on top of each other. Food was really fresh and tasty. We had dough balls to share for a starter and 2 pizzas (Pesto Pollo & Tex Mex) all of these were freshly cooked (as we could see the chef preparing these in the open kitchen). Small menu but sufficient and they tend to offer straight forward pizza's or pasta, which if refreshing these days. Overall we really enjoyed our meal, service and drinks (which were perfectly - chilled wine and bottled larger). Price was reasonable as well. We are already planning to return probably for a family meal next time.

Went for our wedding anniversary. we have been here a few times before and it has always been good. Really good service and made to feel welcome. It is best to book at the weekend as it gets busy. The pizzas and pasta were really good. My favourite Italian in Bexley. Good value. We had a three course meal for two with a bottle of wine for £50.00.

A charming place - small and cosy. My husband and I took our 7 year old son there early one Friday evening. Good service and very friendly. Brilliant with our son. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good - the pasta was fresh and although the portions didn't look too big were very filling! Our son had the pizza which was also freshly cooked and delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a casual family/couples meal.

This is obviously a very well loved restaurant by many, but can't say I share their sentiments. Had a very disappointing meal. The starters were really poor - Garlic stuffed mushrooms which were passable but not worth the price (3 small mushrooms, grilled in loads of oil) and my partner had a bruschetta which was simply diced tomato plopped on top of a raw ciabatta roll. No salt, basil, no nothing. The pizzas were reasonably priced, only slight problem - they weren't pizzas. The base was identical to that of a dutch pancake, soft and raw cake-y texture. If you're doing a thin crust pizza it HAS to be crispy. The toppings were simply warmed through and not cooked or caramelized at all. (raw pepper, raw onion, raw pepperoni). We won't return, but it wouldn't have been an altogether unpleasant experience if it hadn't have been for us being seated just next to the grill, with wafts of burnt olive oil smoke blowing across our table for the entire stay. I like open kitchens as a rule and understand it's a small place, but having a table there is just unsuitable.This was as close to Italy as central Africa.

I visited here for a 'Leavers' Party', and had a delicious ham and mushroom pizza and vanilla ice cream. The staff were very friendly and the service was good, too. Would definitely recommend it to other people.

Visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night, had pre-booked but there were tables available. It's a restaurant that knows it's place with it's plastic tablecloths and candles in the wine bottles it feels like your abroad on a summer holiday but it works. We had the dough balls to start - home made and huge! Pizza's for main were thin, crispy and authentic and exactly as expected. Wine was good and very reasonable. Overall a good experience and we'll be back.

Went to Pizza Place in Blackfen for our anniversary last week. We wanted something really casual with the potential to eat 'junk food' but well cooked. It's what we got. Good honest Italian freshly baked pizza, lasagne and coffee. Started with an old school prawn cocktail and hubby had stuffed garlic mushrooms. All was delicious, fresh and simple. Not pretentious but delicious. Good take away too if that's what you want. Give it a try if you fancy Italian without the fuss. Nice staff too. Try to sit on a chair that is padded as some are simple wooden chairs and you feel it after a while!

If you have any dietary needs they try their hardest to make sure they can help.The food is all homemade and cooked in a proper pizza oven in front of you. Just got home from our first visit here and this will now become a local favourite! A Wednesday evening and was as busy as I would expect it to be on a Saturday! Great prices, great staff (made to feel very welcome and relaxed), great portion sizes (best Calzone ever so my partner said). My one and only (very minor) downside is that I was looking forward to finishing off my meal with a Tiramisu, but it was not on the menu, so went for second best (Calypso coffee), which hit the spot very well :) Enjoyed a very lovely and relaxed evening out, really can't fault this place in any way!

I have been visiting here for so long and the food, service and value is simply brilliant. It is small but that makes the ambience even better. Hosts are very attentive. Food always good. I would much rather eat here than a fancy restaurant in Blackheath or Bluewater where the food would not be as good but the price x5 more! So good

We've been here several times and the food and service are excellent. The service is warm and friendly both from the owners and Joe, the young waiter. Pizza Place is a small, Bistro style restaurant with an open style kitchen where you can see the pizzas being freshly made and candles in Chianti bottles which gives a romantic atmosphere. There is a good choice of pizza and pasta dishes. We will be back often.
