food was really good we had pizza! really great taste! unfortunately the service was almost the worst I've ever had! the waitress forgot about us and was busy chatting in the kitchen I had to shout to get her attention! I understand we were the only people in the restaurant . however the only interaction with her was to take the order and serve it. no asking if everything is OK or do we want any more drinks! once she left our food we didn't see her again for 30 minutes!

Only had takeaway , the pasta dishes are soon tasty and authentic 😋

A fantastic evening at Avanti. 23 guests for a 60th birthday party. Excellent food, served to all 23 together. Great atmosphere, great service, great value. Just my favourite restaurant!

You must visit this little gem of a place. The food is all homemade on the premises and alot of hard work goes into making the dishes. It was an end of holiday meal with My family and wow delicious food. I had cannelloni it was so tasty. The price is reasonable too. Definitely a lovely dine in experience with the fairy lights and nice music too would make it a good venue for a romantic date too.

Sadly didn't get to try it, checked reviews, thought looked really nice/authentic so wandered down with 2 hungry children to find a note saying shut until 19/08/22. I know things happen but please keep your websites/Google etc up to date to avoid disappointment 😞

Food was absolutely delicious, great portion sizes. Although the garlic bread wasn't very garlicky still delicious, the greek salad was the winner for me. Will definitely be returning

We had a take away from this place, what a waste of money, most of it went straight in the bin. The quality was very poor, soggy limp onion rings, soggy tasteless bruschetta, the whole lot was not very good, needs more taste and attention to detail, who on earth wants soggy undercooked onion rings, they were disgusting. The only thing any good really was the olives, and they didn't have to cook those!!!,£36.00 for 2 small undercooked tasteless meals?? disgraceful, if there was a zero rating, it would still be too high.

Takeaway from Avanti Amazing! Feeling abit poorly so fancied something slightly naughty. So lots of carbs! Spaghetti Bolognese is favourite dish & this is beautiful! I also ordered cookie dough which is a brownie. Super soft and haven’t yet eaten it. Thank youuu! Will be ordering again in no time

I've only ordered take out so far but I've been really impressed with the food and politeness of the staff when I've gone to pick up, personally I think it would be a really nice place to take a date to and have a meal, it's always super quiet inside the restaurant but I think I kind of like that because it would feel a little bit more personal. Anyway; great restaurant, friendly staff, good food, can't complain

Tried this takeout for the first time and they did not disappoint. Food was absolutely lovely and we are a family with fussy eaters. Everything was hot when it arrived and you can taste the quality in products. Will definitely be ordering again from here.

Well worth a visit. The review score was high so we ordered a take away. We had a meat feast pizza, chicken wings and a cheese burger all very good. Keep it up guys.

Food is very very good, I tried a good selection of food has it was first time eating here we had carbonara , it was very tasty and well sized proportion wise, also the lasagne was large portion and fount it hard to get through. We also ordered a burger that seemed good value for money considering the patty are home made. I've heard good things about how authentic the pizza are and look forward to trying em next. If you like Italian this would be a sure place to go

Came here for the second time during our family holiday to Torquay. Staff are so friendly and kind. Beautiful food. The 3 girls even got a big bag of Maltesers after their dinner. Such a kind gesture. Would 100% recommend 👌

We decided to eat here because it was a rainy evening and we didn't want to walk into Torquay centre. Good ambiance in the restaurant and strict social distancing was in place. There were only two other diners in the restaurant but there seemed to be a constant flow of take-aways being sent out. Having eaten a lovely pasta puttanesca I can understand why people would order a take away from here. The food was delicious and very good value.

The caprese salad was tasty but the ratio was completely off. Way too many tomato’s and not enough mozzarella. The chips and curry sauce were tasty and a huge pot of curry sauce for only £2 which was a nice surprise. The real star of the show however was the cookie dough brownie. A really fudgy gooey brownie with bits of cookie in it, absolutely delicious.

We visited this restaurant tonight for my husband’s birthday. We shared a bruschetta starter which was amazing - the best bruschetta we’ve had in a long while. Lovely fresh bread and great flavour. The mains also really delicious - and my husband had a pizza so large and heavy with toppings he couldn’t finish it. The staff were lovely too. Would definitely come back!

I placed a order through Uber eats. £17 for a pizza cheese and tomatoe and bruschetta with prawns: pizza arrived LUKEWARM and way to much oil was used in cooking making it rubbery. Bruschetta one prawn on each piece that had so much olive oil on it it was soggy not crispy like a fresh french stix NO SOGGY like water absolutely DISGUSTING hear is good if you want a heart attack from excessive OIL/ this is not good Italian cooking . The driver goes to the wrong road doesn’t even apologise just says at least I will know for next time( DEFINITELY no next time) worst place ever ....

Really nice thin pizza, every time we order its fresh and taste amazing!!!! Calzone also highly recommended. Definitely the best pizza place in the area.

My husband ordered the homemade lasagne and I the al mare pasta, greek salad and garlic bread. Best take out in a long time. I would be more specific but im tired after a 7 hour drive. In summary highly recomended.

We called for a takeaway pizza last night and it was absolutely lovely. The restaurant looked like they were following Covid rules with hand sanitizer on each table. Would definitely call again next time we visit Torquay.

Ordered from here tonight, absolutely shocked at the disgusting customer service. Staff were unhelp and rude and the food wasn't good either. Would never ever use this establishment again.

This is a lovely restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and all freshly cooked on-site. It's only a small restaurant and is slightly out of the centre but really, really worth a visit. Hard to choose between the pizza and the pasta as they were both superb.

After reading many of the negative reviews we were cautious about going here. But we went yesterday and although we were the only ones in the restaurant, we had a lovely evening. We had bruschetta and celebrese for starters which were freshly prepared and very tasty. My hubby had a pizza which looked and smelled amazing and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had spaghetti with King Prawns in tomato sauce. While I do not believe it was an authentic Italian recipe, it was very nice and tasty. The icing on the cake was the tiramisu which was just divine. The card machine was out of order so I am cautious that this was an ongoing issue, to maybe keep taking cash to pay less tax. But that might just be me. A very enjoyable evening which showed that the majority of sales done here were take away.

No pizzas available so I had four cheese pasta. My partner had seafood pasta which had crushed up mussel shells in it & wasn’t seasoned, my ‘four cheese’ pasta was bland and tasted more like Colmans cheese sauce. The cheesy garlic bread and Prosecco were nice. The card machine wasn’t working once we wanted to pay the bill so the man drove us to a cashpoint which was a bit scary as the car was only three door so I felt afraid. Avoid. I also don’t believe they were Italian. Their kids were in the restaurant farting then took out their ball and constantly bounced it outside - bang bang bang bang. AVOID

Had no idea this place was here but found it through TA. Ordered 2 pizzas which are easily the best Pizzas I’ve ever had in Torbay. The following week ordered 2 Chicken Kebabs which again were delicious and tasted incredibly fresh and healthy (for a kebab). Plus they deliver. I wouldn’t think twice about ordering here again. Support your local businesses. Top marks guys.

Just had 2nd meal from Avanti. Large portions,beautifully cooked and delivered on time. Best lasagne I have had outside of Italy.

Found this place through trip advisor and ate in last minute. We all really enjoyed our food and it was all very reasonably priced with big portions. The tiramisu was amazing! Staff lovely too, we will return and will definitely be getting a take away!

Always a great time and good food. Not many prople dine there now so pretty much guaranteed to have the place to yourself. They have a good selection they do all that you would expect. They do more Takeaways than they used to. If you do dine in you must try the Prawn Brushcetta's. Mt wife says they are amazing. Home delivery available. Open Sunday to Thursday 11.30 to 22.30 abd Friday and Saturday 11.30 to 23.00.

Ho trovato questo ristorantino che faceva pizza da asporto su internet.. Non avendo voglia di uscire ho chiamato per ordinare una pizza con le patatine. A parte rispettare l'orario di consegna, da italiana ho trovato che la pizza è buona, quasi italiana, migliore di tutte le altre pizze che ho mangiato all'estero. Servizio take away impeccabile. Do describe Union Street as pleasant is an oxymoron but this very nice cosy little restaurant is at the top end which is fine. Having walked by a few times and seeing the good reviews decided to give it a try and collected a take away pizza and lasagne. Easy parking outside and called on a quiet Saturday evening where neatly laid tables with white linen awaited. The pizza base was thin and crispy and topping tasty. The lasagne declared fine by my lasagne connoisseur but considered economic with the beef. Portions for both were generous and next time one of either would have been sufficient for two with a side salad prepared at home.

Food was good. Tables were a little grubby but what really put us off was the poor service: The waitress was one of the most inattentive and unenthusiastic people I've ever dealt with, even to the point that we had to chase for the bill to be able to pay, despite the restaurant being virtually empty.

Walked through the door and thought are they open.. was a bit dark .. but hey a little gem it turned out... can't fault the service food or price so can only recommend and I'll be back

A very nice Italian restaraunt, not too expensive and the food is very authentic.The restaurant was not full and the service was very quick and efficient.We had pizza and also a pasta dish both were very good.The olives are to die for I would recommend this Italian fotr sure.

Such a lovely family run business. More like being welcomed into a Mediterranean home than a restaurant. So accommodating with our family of 5 including a messy baby! And my word the pizza is bang on! If you've eaten proper Italian pizza and you miss that flavor then this place will cure your longing

Tried numerous pasta dishes, several times, always hot,fresh and tasty.

We went to this restaurant after looking on trip advisor as we are from out of town we sat down eventually we got asked if we wanted a menu we then 5 minutes later got asked if we wanted a drink oh we were the only people in the place all 3 of us we ordered food which came and was lovely but the service was absolutely shocking

The pizza is the best you can get in Devon ! Hot and delicious. Don't know why it's not full every night. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed x

LOVE this place! Amazing thin crust pizzas done a traditional way and the food is great value. It’s quiet but the atmosphere is what you make it. My family and I love it! Would definitely recommend their bruschetta it’s fab.

The restaurant is pleasant enough and in a convenient enough location to get too. The menu seems a bit of a mish mash not much of an authentic Italian. Offering kebabs and chicken nuggets, burgers etc. Of which those sections appeared to be bigger than that of the pasta offered. That being said the pasta was actually pretty good just a shame not as many authentic Italian options.

My wife and I Had a lovely pizza each in the restaurant and a couple of beers it was very quiet because it was January but all in all Michael looked after us very well

Well situated near the clock tower the Strand torquay. great service tasty meal at a reasonable cost. A fair selection on the menu ,service was quick and efficient.

Lots of tables, but we wondered if this place does more takeaway trade. Staff smoking in doorway as we arrived & tablecloth a bit grubby. However drinks & food were fresh & tasty.

I love this place! I order from here at least once a week. They aren really good at accommodating my vegan Italian food needs. Pizza is amazing with their vegan cheese, I love the garlic bread and the bruschetta. The spaghetti that I tried lately is also very good! Thank you Avanti! Xx

Gute Alternative zu den vielen Restaurants am Hafen. Wir sind zufällig etwas abseits des Touristenrummels dort gelandet. Wir haben wirklich gut gegessen. Das Personal bzw. der Inhaber waren sehr aufmerksam. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis war super. Wir wäre sehr zufrieden

Instead of a traditional Sunday dinner we fancied a pizza and we weren't disappointed. I had a meaty Pizza and my wife chose a vegetarian Pizza despite not being a vegetarian. Both were delicious and the service was excellent.

We went on Saturday evening for dinner the decor was good the service warm and friendly, the food delicious the tomato and basil bruscetta was divine as was the squid , the pizzas were fabulous too, they even do a delivery so great food delivered to your door !! All in all a great evening thank you
