Otto Restaurant in Torbay

This place is just wonderful. Whether it rain or shine, the views are amazing and the food and service is second to none. A regular visitor for brunch and a delicious takeaway pizza. Sat outside, overlooking the harbour is my favourite thing to do. The food is local and of very good quality and the price is competitive. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I so enjoyed my Mothers Day Brunch and the free glass of pink prosecco made it even more special.

Been here a few times now for both Breakfast and Pizza, and both are so good! I'd say they're worth the price and really yummy. Always really quick service too. The only thing that would make it 5 stars is the drinks menu, specifically the cocktails! I really wish they had more options.

Lovely place to eat. We went for breakfast before heading home from a family weekend away. There were 10 adults and we all really enjoyed our breakfasts...from pancakes to eggs benedict. Food was delicious, service was quick and lovely surroundings...would definitely recommend!!! Dog friendly too!!

Good selection on the menu. Freshly cooked and very tasty. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. It was a busy Saturday lunch time nut we didn't have to wait for a table or too long for food. It is quite noisy and seems to echo.

Visited on the weekend and had the most delicious pizzas. Service was also very good and lovely views over the harbour and marina.

Great coffee that comes with a nice lotus biscuit which is an added touch. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is very nice. The location is great too.

A really cool place with great staff been here a good few times but on my latest trip the coffee was awful , tasteless milky and warm , ruined what is normally a great experience

Very annoyed today to have travelled from Bristol to try your restaurant and having booked a table beforehand, to have been told they were closed for a private party!!! Very disappointed and completely put off the place

Visited on a busy Saturday before going to the Princess Theatre. Food was great and fair priced, service was quick and staff very friendly. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

We had coffee here a couple of times and really enjoyed it but today for some reason even though I explained how I'd like my coffee it was completely ignored. It was watery and tasteless. It was remade but to be perfectly honest it looks ok but the taste wasn't good. Unfortunately the free biscuits didn't make up for it either.

Nipped into Otto as passing for a brunch wasn’t disappointed,everything was 5 star from start to finish. Great service wasn’t sat down long before a waiter came over for our drink order, drinks were with us quickly and nice and hot! I had chorizo hash and my daughter had hunters eggs,both cook to a high standard and hot when it arrived to the table. We weren’t rushed in any way either though they were very busy. A very good experience and will definitely be visiting there again.

Otto in Torquay is one of my favourite places to eat. The location by the marina is great, especially if you can sit outside and enjoy the view. The pizzas are always amazing – some of the best I’ve had – and the rest of the menu is just as good. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are friendly. Dog friendly too.

Food was nearly cold again? This is the second time we have been again and the food was luke warm, unfortunately this is there main pull for customers and it's going down hill, also I asked for my pot of tea to be serviced with my food and I did ask for it to be made when my food was coming? Answer "unfortunately because we are busy we can't guarantee that" not the answer I was looking for at 9 in the morning with a half empty restaurant?

Lovely place, and the food was great. The only downside was waiting an hour for couple of simple brunch items, with no advance warning on wait times or an apology when food finally came. We will give it another go though as great atmosphere, staff friendly and as I've said already the food, when it finally came, was yummy. Just need to make sure we've lots of time to spare just in case 😉

As a regular at Otto we always love coming in for Pizza! We tried brunch today but like most places around it was fairly generic and lacking flavour. Unfortunately recently it has been so cold inside! We were told the heating was on but it definitely wasn’t as the radiators were cold, the temperature inside was actually 11 degrees! We will definitely be back for our regular Italian evenings but unfortunately it just isn’t the same in the day!

Just have a fab evening with my daughter. It’s a lovely restaurant with delicious real Italian pizzas and wonderful staff. Can’t wait to come back again in the Summer and have drinks on their terrace with super views of the harbour. Highly recommended.

Can't fault it. Relaxed atmosphere with equally relaxed staff. Pizzas were top-notch (with a wide range of flavours to choose from), and the homemade tiramisu a delight for the taste buds. Dog-friendly too.

Having had my scalding hot coffee tipped over my lap, arm and feet by the waitress before the food had even arrived, quite honestly I was really fed up and annoyed and couldn't wait to leave. The food was okay but with a burnt arm the night was already ruined. Very disappointed and feel we could/ should have been compensated some what rather than being offered a desert which I wasn't interested in and just wanted to get home and out of wet clothes. White trainers and white coat are now stained! Sounds dramatic and I'm sure I sound a bit of a Karen but really poor annoyed by the whole situation! I chose not to make a scene at the time as there were other families around and I was out with my in-laws.

Whoever thought of the idea of chorizo benedict is an absolute genius; it works so well. Give them a pay rise! 😍🙌

Never known a restaurant that gets so emotional about asking to substitute one piece of back bacon for the piece of streaky bacon. Spend £60 and don’t get what you order. Lovely lady behind the desk but management shocking. Order what you want and don’t get it won’t come back very disappointed with service

It's a nice place. Nice views/decor etc. Stopped in for coffee and a cake and got given the world's thinnest slice of cake ever put in front of a paying customer. It was quite funny because the waiter put it down in front of my son with a bit of a flourish. When he left I looked at it and it was napkin thin. A slight gust of wind would've carried the slight collection of crumbs into the harbour! I don't even know how they managed to slice it that thin and get into a plate. It was impressive in a way I suppose! Wife's coffee was cold. Left feeling a more than a bit gouged. Everyone else's food looked pretty nice to be fair. Hope the next person enjoys the cake I paid for!

Went to Otto for dinner on a Saturday night and had a wonderful time. The pizza was amazing and came very quickly, absolutely devoured them. Can def recommend the garlic aioli too!

As a local we keep trying the food and unfortunately disappointed again. Location is great and friendly staff and perfect place for a drink. But just had 2 pizzas - light in the toppings but it is the base - too soggy & doughy. Really should be more crisp - difficult to slice and eat. Before you eat your pizza, check the base first and get it done again otherwise it is heavy eating. But as usual we will still support it but not not food.

If you haven’t been, you need to go. Just had a stunning breakfast where every ingredient was cooked with love. Decor and vibe is beautiful and the Staff were very friendly. Definitely be back soon 🤩🤩

Sat outside. Views were lovely. Outside seating could have been comfier. Full English breakfast was okay but I think pricey for what it was. Pot of tea barely fills 2 small cups so you have to buy more tea. £7 spent on tea for literally 4 smalls cups is a joke.

Came for brunch and the staff were really warm, food and drinks came within a good time and it was beautiful. Coffee snob and it was really tasty.

I've spent the entire week in Torquay and on the second day came across this gem of a bar. The food is absolute top notch but the best thing I can say about the place is now great the staff are. They were really accommodating with us having our puppy in tow. Currently here on my 4th visit of the week which says it all.

Visited for Brunch. I had a fisherman's breakfast and my wife had otto benedict. Both were delicious.

Stopped off at Otto after exploring the area. We nipped in for a few bites to eat and a drink. Just walked in by chance. The pizza was so light and delicious. The service was excellent. We was well looked after. Had a lovely family time. Dogs are welcomed ❤️

The entrance to the restaurant is up some steps, from the Pavillion Marina car park. You cannot book a table here so you have to queue up & wait until one becomes free. There is a set selection of pizzas, including a monthly special one. We had a Spinach & Olive one, a Pesto Pomodorini, a Ndjua Giallo & Diavola. Sides were also available as were desserts but we were too full. I'd like to have tried the Kahlua Tiramisu. During other times they have a brunch / sandwiches menu. NB you have to order & also pay for your drinks & food at the bar.

I would have written a glowing report as I had been eating here whilst working locally for a week and the food had been stunning, but I turned up today only to be told they had shut down the kitchen for 20 mins as they were ‘overwhelmed’ and there would likely be a delay after that too!? Overwhelmed? You’re a restaurant for heaven sake, you don’t shut down your kitchen! A very sad ending to my week in Otto!

Really great location! The service placed a lot of emphasis on ensuring that we had a nice view of the harbor and was very nice overall! I ate the most delicious grilled cheese here! The price was also really, really good!

Great pizzas and great service. I particularly liked the butterfly pea latte.

Worst coffee of my life, "Americano" looks more like a "Cube Gold" broth than a real sock coffee (it looked like dishwater). And the double espresso must have a PH close to 1 . Concerning the service, it is almost non-existent because you place your orders via a QRcode.... thank you for the human warmth. Fortunately the framework straightens the bill a little, because we unfortunately cannot count on the food which although edible, does not break three legs of a duck.

My wife and I visited while we were on holiday this week and the food was beautiful. Reasonable prices, great friendly staff and the food was amazing. The pizzas are beautiful. Keep up the good work guys.

We where in Torquay to pick up a pair of sunglasses that i like. And as it was lunch time we saw Otto and went in for a drink and something to eat. Wow 👌 all the meals are freshly cooked and takes a little time to get to your table. But that's not a problem as you can just admire the views and it's worth the wait. Thank you Otto we will be back the next time we come to Torquay

Had been told to visit this place but experience was ruined by a yapping sausage dog. DOGS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN RESTAURANTS. Two people walked out without staying. Such a shame staff were lovely food was great

Love it here so cute, indoors and out it’s just simply beautiful. Especially outdoors it’s overlooking the harbour. Just think prices are slightly high for the food that’s all.

Usually, the rule is that seaside restaurants with great views have poor food, but Otto is an exception! The staff were welcoming and efficient. The brunch we had was delicious, quality ingredients well prepared. Great coffee too. It was quite noisy so we didn't linger too long, but the outlook was terrific 👏

Ate here twice in a week both times the food was absolutely superb. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Will be out New go to for breakfasts in Torbay.

Just had a brunch there. Luckily we arrived early so had a choice of tables outside. It was getting much busier closer to 10:30. Service was really friendly, view was beautiful and the food itself fresh and delicious. The toilets were also immaculate. Would recommend highly and look forward to going back. It's the type of menu from which I found tricky to choose one thing!

I had such a good experience in here! From the moment I stepped in the staff couldn't do enough for me. The coffee was excellent, and my meal was delicious - fresh high quality ingredients, beautifully prepared. I came in with my dog and he was made a fuss of, snuck a sausage from the kitchen and made friends with all the lovely staff who were the sweetest people. Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere, and have I mentioned the excellent coffee? 10/10 recommend. Thank you to the wonderful staff x

Lovely staff and service. Good location. We stopped in for a coffee and sat on the small balcony. The music did get a little loud later in the afternoon though. They also had free (delicious) cupcakes for all to celebrate Otto's first birthday which was a nice touch.

Ex chef review : Considering it’s a breakfast/brunch place only I would expect more from food . Visited with my partner she had avocado toast overloaded with half tomatoes which looked they’ve been reheated and not cooked to order she mentioned there was something spicy there also … (would definitely be better with thinly sliced tomatoes or cherry tomatoes) I’ve had Otto Breakfast egg (fried) was basically well done , sausage and bacon also reheated, new potatoes hmm? seemed like they were just sat under salamander to reheat also, would definitely prefer deep fried hash brown the homemade beans were nice just not enough beans in it. Service alright they’ve checked on us if everything is good and we said yes. Chef sat at the front in his posh Michelin lookalike blue kimono doing something on laptop. Just put some effort to it and it may work out for few years that’s my opinion.

Was OK. We were there for brunch, food was OK, although there was more chilli in the avocado toast than you'd normally expect. Alcohol relatively expensive. Great view over the harbour

Now, we dropped into Torquay to catch up with an old bud. We haven't been for lunch in Torquay for a while and we dropped into Otto. Firstly a great location and good greeting. Views are great and the staff good also. Now being a cyclist you end up having a lot of cakes breakfasts etc in many cafes and restaurants while out. And I can honestly say I think that was one of the the best breakfasts I've ever had. I wish that was out on the trails while on the bike 🤣. Everyone else also enjoyed their food. We'll worth the visit.

Such a lovely experience! We had the eggs Benedict which was delicious and a good portion size. Brought our two dogs and they were very dog friendly, gave them a fuss and came to ask if they wanted any water or treats. Every single staff member was so friendly and helpful which was lovely. Nice vibe, decor and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Quite probably the best place we went to eat whilst in the area. The staff were wonderful, the place was busy (for good reason) and the food was brilliant. We are tempted to return on our remaining day in the area as nothing has come close to the standard of Otto's. Thank you!
