The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

The most authentic Italian food I've eaten in a long time. Served in a relaxed style, very generous portions and great tasting desserts.

Very busy Saturday night but staff were great, helpful and friendly. Food came out quickly. Lovely deep fried potato skins as starter and then one of the best calzones I've had. My wife really enjoyed her spagbol

No lo han sido durante veinte años. La comida sigue siendo absolutamente brillante. Sardinas seguidas de pan de ajo y lasaña de queso y una ensalada más una gran botella de vino. Qué noche fantástica. No esperaré 20 años para ir de nuevo.

Food is fantastic and friendly service !

We ordered two meals to be picked up and they were ready on time , very hot and most enjoyed. We have never done this before.

This was one of the more bizarre visits I have had to a restaurant in many years. Spectacularly diabolical!!! The waiter was nice enough but they were out of half of the already tiny list of dishes on offer. It was like “spam, spam or parmigian”! My mate got some gnocchi straight from the supermarket with some cheese only food stamps would buy (the waiter was nice enough to refund this inedible effort). My order of vitello alla Milanese with patate arroste was a big flat lump of breaded meat from a packet complete with... oven chips!! The whole time we had to listen to some bizarre argument in Spanish and Italian between the cook and the waiter. The subject seemed to be how much the former was being paid- he’s been very fortunate to have ever been paid, from what I can see!!

Came here to try it out due to the high reviews. It didn’t disappoint. The chocolate brownie ice cream was full of flavour and the texture of the ice cream was very smooth. £4 for a small Scoop is the only downfall I would give the store.

Pizza is always great, love the atmosphere at this venue, such a great space. Ideal for a quick bite on the way home from work. All the staff are super friendly, special thanks to Salvo the last time we visited.

So pleased that we found this little gem in TW. The outside does not do justice to the authentic high quality food this little family restaurant provides. Lovely, friendly owners who are delighted to talk about their food and history. Its very small so probably need to book for dinner. Give it a try.

Best Carbonara to date. Cooked the Italian way. Fantastic would recommend. Friendly staff. Fresh home cooking and great atmosphere.

Delivery..was two hours late and disgusting . Pizza was basic but not Italian. Husband felt he had been cheated . We phoned three times to catch up .

This is not called il Caprese anymore - Michael’s Bistro as it is now called, was lovely for starters but the main courses were disappointing - it’s a shame’s especially the ramen which was without chili

Really disappointing experience. Arrived at 8.30 while travelling. Shown to a table with a dirty cloth. The building was freezing and I had to turn around the radiator to get it to point at me. Order food … a salad, mushrooms, pasta and bread that all came at the time. The food was okay but stodgy. No check to see if so needed another drink, which I had finished sometime ago. I then stupidly ordered the brownie. Heard it being popped in the microwave. It was only half done … on edges hot but completely frozen on inside. Really disappointing overall and would not come back. What is weird is looking down the reviews you can see that people have had two very different experiences of this restaurant. Sadly this was not a good day!!
