Howard's Neighbourhood Bar in Tameside

Overpriced and rude staff, terrible atmosphere. Really trying to be a big city experience but the only thing that resembles a big city experience are the big city prices.

This place has gone really downhill. Practically empty the last 3 times I have been in. Last Sunday bank Holiday it smelled of vomit on entering. We were told the garden area had been damaged by a dog so couldn't sit outside. Ordered a drink to be polite but could not get out of the smelly dark place fast enough. A real shame as I used to like it. Also all the wierd 'social' naming doesn't make sense.

I go in sometimes if it’s open and I’m in the area. It’s a nice bar that is a bit on the fancier side which makes a nice change to the other local establishments. Im not always crazy about their ale selections but they do have plenty of choice. Opening times aren’t great (for me)

Called in for Sunday lunch booked by my missus, now not really keen on Sunday lunches eating out as I'd rather have it at home. However I can honestly say this was the best Sunday lunch I have had by far and the staff are excellent. Would highly recommend.

My first time here I am not a bar person but soon as I walked through the door it was one of them places where it’s warm cozy feeling where you want sit relax eat , drink & have amazing conversations! The windows are massive ! The bar area is fantastic! Seating areas are amazing and cozy & well spaced ! The food well just look at the pictures! Staff are amazing & very child friendly & very happy to serve you ! A great place for events & parties or just to hang out ! I hear they do an amazing Sunday dinner so I will try this one day ! A massive thank you from me & my family ! The video shows how beautiful it is inside !

Pleasant bar for a civilised drink. Limited range of non-alcoholic drinks. Weirdly oversized serving area compared with the size of the bar as a whole

Great chilled atmosphere with some fantastic beers

We have been coming to Howards for a while and will be coming back a lot in the future. Food is always top notch. Pinsas are always lovely and we recently had a lot of side dishes and every single one was delicious. And as for the Sunday dinners, the very best in the area! Atmosphere is great, we bring our 2 year old along with us and they’re so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend for all occasions.

Lovely place, great ambience...the only thing I would say is the food smells drift into the bar so maybe a more powerful extractor is needed 👍😊

Nice bar, nice atmosphere but the toilets need a serious rethink.

Went in for a 50th. Private party. They'd had a problem with the gas. Not much beer available because if this. Not cheap either. First time I've had a pint of water in a pub for 20 years, after 3 pints of whatever was available. Thanks but no thanks.

Expensive drinks, it was very quiet. Staff friendly

Visited today with friends for Sunday lunch. We all ordered Sunday roasts and they were all presented well and tasted good. The service was excellent and the staff and owner are very friendly. This is the best bar around here by a mile and the owners have got everything bang on. This area needs more independent bars like this. Will definitely be back.

Had a fabulous night at Howard’s neighbourhood bar . Food , drinks, staff, venue all top notch but my warmest praise must go to the star of “Ain’t Miss Behavin’ “ Natalie Tuifo. Who performed a selection of songs for us in three sets. With jet hair, eyes you could swim in, and a smile you could read by. Natalie’s true gift is her honey toned singing voice. Her unique sound and charming dance moves delighted her audience at Howard’s . Her interpretation of some timeless classics in her very own retro style was a hit with everyone. I’d previously thought those iconic songs couldn’t be improved , but Ain’t miss behavin’ smashed it tonight. Everything from Gaga to the Beatles and ending on a personal favourite Titanium. She brought the house down with her third encore demanded by the audience who just didn’t want to let her leave. Howard’s Italian themed deli bar struck gold tonight with this act. She put a lot of bums on seats (well until they were on their feet) I had to keep pinching myself and telling myself I m in Denton not watching some Las Vegas residency act. As soon as Ain”t misbehaving’ is back in town we ll be booking.

Choice of craft beers but all a little too strong for early evening. Priced for city centre.

We love it here, been going since it opened. Nice for a quick drink after shopping or an evening with friends. Amazing food too.

First visit here on a Friday night. Nice cosy vibe, relaxed and friendly. Nit picking as I will definitely return but for feed back.. The bar top was very sticky, we all commented on it, give it a wipe now and again. When I asked what lagers they had the barmaid said, check the list on the wall, there are only 2 on draft so a smile and we have A or B is surely better customer service, than go check the wall list. Finally and my only real gripe. It’s shuts at 11pm, fair enough but putting all the chairs on tables from 1030pm felt a bit oppressive when I’d just bought a round for 4 for £23. However overall liked it and will return.

Popped into Howards Bar on Sunday evening on our way home. What a pleasant surprise! A wonderfully laid out and decorated bar with staff who were charming and helpful. I was very pleased to find several guest beers available as well as a good list of bottled ales, wines, spirits & cocktails. We went in for one, stayed for a couple and if we weren’t being picked up would probably have stayed for more. Will definitely be back; Howards Bar is a nice place!

Been meaning to go in for a while. So glad I did. Loved if. Had a live musician was really good. Nice selection of beers and cocktails. We had a little sing song and a relaxing evening. Nice to have on your doorstep! Keep up the good work.

Visited Saturday evening. Even at 7.00pm the bar was comfortably full, with a good atmosphere. Good service & selection of drinks, lovely pizzas and garlic fries - cheers Max, lovely staff. Very good male singer later in the evening. A cracking night was had.

We were taken there by our daughter and her partner. We had cocktails and coffee as well as delicious food from an invited chef. Italian that Sunday. We went back with her partner’s parents the next time we were up. Delicious both times. Very friendly and helpful, look forward to going again 🥰 sorry no photos of food - all eaten. Really good truffle oil chips with Parmesan - and I don’t eat chips. My cocktail was a rhubarb and cherry blossom martini

Visited this friendly little place on Saturday evening and was not disappointed! Great customer service and good selection of drinks. The bar is set out with comfortable lounge chairs making it feel cosy and relaxing! Fab little beer garden at the back too!

Lovely cocktails and friendly service.

Very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious as were the cocktails, coffee and desserts. A set menu as cooked there and then in small quantities. I will definitely need no excuse to go back. I had a rhubarb and cherry blossom martini, spinach and ricotta ravioli in toasted spinach butter with hazelnuts, sticky toffee tirimisu and double espresso. Had to share the pudding!

We had a lovely time at howards Neighbourhood bar, the bar lady AJ was pleasant polite and friendly easy to talk made you feel welcome.. we came from Birmingham for a weekend away the onwers are husband and wife they were lovely and friendly too...Ramsey's & Ranj.x defo when visiting manchester we will be come here again.

I went to it as a Deli rather than a bar (lockdown). Excellent selection of vegetables, pies and cakes along with plenty of other things (chocolate, alcohol etc). I'll be sure to check out their hot food in future but the Manchester Egg and the cakes I bought were outstanding. I'll certainly be back.

Love it here, my favourite local bar. Cosy and classy, great beers and cocktails. Comfortable furniture, very dog friendly. Staff are excellent, usually at least one of the owners are on and they're very friendly and chatty and passionate about their products. Everyone we have brought here loves it including our doggo.

Brilliant! Great selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Have been a few times previously when functional as the bar and had a great time. Visited the deli today and amazed by the great quality and variety of items on offer, sandwiches, coffee and wine to take home, incredible. The covid measures were in place but the attentive and knowledgeable staff made us feel welcome and safe. The blonde owner is an absolute stunner aswell, I think he's called Jack. 5 star, can't wait to go back.

First time I'd been here...hand sanitiser on entry and track and trace.. choice of table...colour touch lamp system on each table indicating whether you're ready to order or ready to pay...I thought this was excellent...amazing tapas menu...nice decor and lovely atmosphere..very helpful staff...definitely recommend and will go again

Really can not recommend this place highly enough. Jack & Amy really have put their all in to making this a place to go. Food & drink is amazing.

Can't recommend this place enough, it is owned by a lovely couple who are always on hand to offer advice and recommendations, the staff are lovely and always helpful. the Cocktails are delicious and made from all natural ingredients not from pre made mixes, they’ve recently added a food menu which has small sharing plates (although there not so small) which are delicious. Their COVID measures are the best in the area and they clean down every table/chairs after a customer has left. Keep up the good work Jack & Amy x

Geoff and I had a lovely time in Howard's bar last night. The place is clean and well organised for Covid 19. The service is excellent and we enjoyed drinks and a lovely food platter. It is becoming quite a regular for us and just the type of bar Denton has needed for sometime. I would recommend it to friends and family.

Went to a special night with a guest Italian chef who's looking to open a restaurant in the Denton area. I hope she does as the food was first rate. And not a pasta dish in sight. For those who don't know, there's more to Italian food than spag bol and garlic bread. The Arancini was perfection.

We recently visited here for the first time for our 5th wedding anniversary. The drinks were outstanding, really nice. It was lovely and comfortable inside with modern decor. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Was a really laid back atmosphere, will be visiting again in the near future.

First time I have visited and I will be returning. Lovely place and such a refreshing change for Denton to have a nice clean friendly bar. Rather than an old past its best type pub in Denton. You can call in for just a fresh coffe and they will soon be doing brunch. I would rather pop in here for a cofffee then some of the Denton cafes. I would rather give my money to Howards and meet here with friends for a coffee than Costa. Coffe is £2.60. Little bit more expensive for a pint at £4.00 but overall well worth a little extra. I will certainly be returning soon

Great selection of beers and lovely cocktails. A real step up for bars in the area and Howards bar leading the revolution, chilled vibe, music great. Will be back sooner , if we didnt live in London :(

Visited this bar whilst it was open, pre. Covid-19, good range of gins and beverages. Friendly, professional staff. I ordered their board in a box, it was delivered earlier than expected but a lovely surprise, the quality of the contents were superb. We really enjoyed it as it was something different during lockdown

Visited for the first time tonight... awesome bar with a really cool selection of beers and spirits. Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere. It wouldn’t look out of place in the city centre with the trendy interiors... reasonable drinks prices! Will definitely be back !

A welcome addition to Denton. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and the bar has a wide variety of drinks that are available. The easy to listen to music in the background creates the right atmosphere. Fixtures and fittings are are just right as well. Will definitely be returning.
