Fortunate to have this lovely restaurant in walking distance of us. Very friendly owners are always welcoming. Food always nicely cooked and tasty. Lots of favourites on the menu. Not had a bad meal here. Service is usually quick, first couple of times in the government deal a bit slow as suddenly had weekend numbers of people coming in but now much better. Nice specials. Highly recommended.

A lovely meal with great food and friendly service. The fresh tuna and spaghetti with clams were both amazing!

The place is amazing. Food is always excellent, service is impeccable and the atmosphere is why we go. The owners are very welcoming. Nice little touch with the surprise birthday singing and ice cream, definitely worth a visit.

Good food....homely and confortable with excellent service from the staff. Happy hour is 5-7pm (although we stumbled on this by accident) being hungry at precisely tea time. What more could you want!

No complaints here, great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and fantastic food. We live in Italy and visit Mama Mia when we come home to visit family. The food here compares with anything back in Italy, not surprising as the owners are Italian. Great food, recommended!

A phone call early doors on Friday past confirmed the availability for 3 adults and two children (12+4 years old to dine.The stairs from street level make Mamma Mia’s would make it impossible for access for wheelchair users and difficult for people with walking.We were greeted and shown to our table,furnished with menus and asked if we desired a drink.The drinks are from wine to beer to soft drinks.The menu was substantial but without a children’s section however we were told the children would choose off the menu for half price.There was a busy “chefs special”.We had calamari,prawn cocktail starters,three Italian dishes and the children had macaroni cheese and pizza for mains.While waiting we were given topped bruschetta and there was bread too.We were attended to professionally and the food was very good in a small restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere with music at background volume.Overall I will visit again and we were pleased with the visit.

Called in on spec with my wife on Thursday teatime while out for a drive. A charming authentic Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and Alex was so polite and interesting to talk to about Italy. The menu was varied and the food was excellent very tasty. The music in the background and overall ambience was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Decided to visit here with my partner whilst out for a walk and unexpectedly decided to stop for something to eat. Never visited before despite always living in Sunderland. It was Good Friday so unsure if we would get a table, it was early evening a few tables already taken. The restaurant is warm and welcoming and a traditional style Italian which is always nice. The staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was a problem. We were given a bruschetta to sample each and also fresh warm bread and butter, lovely touch and rare these days. Nice to see an old style Italian local. I had prawns and my partner had mushrooms both which were delicious, for mains I went traditional with amtracciana pasta with bacon, delicious with fresh parmesan, my partner had the chicken which was with prawns which was nice although he wasn't too keen on the sauce (personal taste). Overall a lovely meal and somewhere new to add to our list. Great service & lovely food.

A visit with my Mam and Dad on a return trip to my hometown and this little ristorante did not disappoint. A homely feel to the place which is above a local pub. A specials board and what appears to be a regular Italian menu - however the food that we were served was beyond that.

Really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant, we received a very warm welcome and were seated quickly with drinks order taken by the waiter while we decided on the menu. Very varied choice of meals to choose from including pasta, pizza, fish as well as a choice of pork and chicken, something for everyone. Be sure to check out the blackboard menu for the daily specials. I went with the Pork fillet served with garlic mushrooms and vegetables, it was delicious. I couldn’t manage a dessert, but the family enjoyed the Baileys cheesecake, apple pie with custard and creme brûlée. This was my first visit to this restaurant, but will certainly return.

What a disappointment - stodgy food, dreadful decor, lack of atmosphere - lifeless and dull, dull, dull.

I went with my son for a mid week evening meal and we had a lovely experience. This was the second time I had visited and we found the stafff very nice seating us at a lovely table next to the window.

We were in Sunderland visiting friends and family and booked our evening meal at Mamma Mia's. The welcoming and homely atmosphere, together with the excellent quality of all of the dishes we had, some super wine, and the friendly and efficient service, all made for an extremely enjoyable and relaxing evening. We had a mix of starters and meals from the main menu and the specials board and were not disappointed with anything - there were several vegetarian options, with beetroot gnocchi being a star. Fish dishes were cooked perfectly and sauces were properly seasoned. Portions were just the right size, so we had room for desserts and coffees. All the meals we had were excellent value for money and I would strongly recommend Mamma Mia's.

After climbing the stairs we were presented with a small but cosy restaurant. We were met by the waitress who led us into the bar. After ordering drinks our table became available and the waitress insisted in taking our drinks to the table. We were quickly served our meal, the food was of a good quality. Staff were friendly. It's worth giving Mamma Mia a try.

We'd heard that Mamma Mia was serving Tapas. We had five between us and it was delicious. Service is quick and very friend would really recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is located on the main coast road between South Shields and Sunderland in the village of whitburn.

We have been here a couple of times now, with hubby and the kids. The restaurant is cosy and warm,the staff was professional friendly and very welcoming at the same time. The service is outstanding as the food we got sirloin and fillet steak, perfectly cooked and tasty. For the kids we had lasagna, which was one of the biggest portion I've ever seen.Highly recommended.

Went again last night as a last minute treat. Had a beautiful meal, with a fab bottle of wine. The staff always go the extra mile for you and the little extra touches just make it special. Look out for the amazing things they have on the specials board.

I can honestly say that this is the only restaurant which I continually recommend to friends and family and no one has ever been disappointed! We have some very nice restaurants down here in Warwickshire but, this takes some beating for both the food and the ambience. We make it a priority to visit Mamma Mia's and the staff go out of their way to accommodate our needs - we often turn up rather late after working a stressful day and we feel instantly relaxed and welcome in a lovely setting.

The food was simply awesome. The wine incredible. The service second to none. The atmosphere warm and cosy. Big thanks to everyone at mamma mia for making my wifes birthday so special. We both can not wait for our next visit.

It is a good few weeks since we first went to this restaurant but all I remember was how wrong the main course was. The soup starters must have been fine but my Chicken Cacciatore was overwhelmingly flavoured with mint instead of parsley or rosemary I would have expected. I regularly eat out at Italian restaurants and this was just bafflingly wrong. It's obviously an awkward situation to send food back, particularly when it is a restaurant you haven't been to before (and we've all heard stories about this situation!)

Our table was pre booked and we were seated immediately upon arrival.

This was our second Sunday Lunch time visit.It is very popular and this is not surprising as the food is delicious.I had enjoyed Lasagne on my first visit and could not resist ordering it again.It was lovely.My friend enjoyed a Ravioli containing a mixture of fish and said it was super.My husband who does not like foreign food had English Sunday lunch and ate every mouthful. I think these comments speak for themselves.

Booked for early dinner (6pm) we only had mains as we are still fighting off the over indulgence of Christmas.

Went here in December with a group friends, had a great night and food was very good. However as we were sorting bill out I nipped to the ladies loo. As I was washing my hands in walked chef she used the facilities then left without washing her hands. Disgusting, no the wonder people get illl with the likes of Noravirus.

Went there has a treat to cheer a friend up. Never again. With been busy we just order a main course. My friend had the lasagne which was ok. I order the calzone which I order most of the time when I go for an Italian and usually ask for a seafood one. Now the chef really went out of his way to loss a customer here he thought it was funny leaving shells in the calzone. And don't even have the nerve to offer me a fresh Calzone or replacement then had the cheek to make use pay full price or there where going to call the police. Keep well away unless you want to choke on a shell fish. And no I am not making this up.

Fuimos para una cena tranquila de los martes por la noche. Un bonito detalle fue el aperitivo gratis. Comenzamos con las setas y el ajo gamberoni. Ambos tuvimos pasta como plato principal. La pasta Mamma Mia y Siciliana eran muy buenos. También había un digestivo. Sin duda volveremos.

Acabamos de regresar de una una cena maravillosa aquí. Fuimos con nuestra hija de 7 años en el último minuto, porque era tarde y vimos como nos pase.

Went out with friends on Saturday, we started at the Italian kitchen further along the road that we were so disappointed with, we ended up booking here last minute - we were not disappointed.Service, food, cost and ambience were all 100%A small place but definitely a great restaurant.Will make this our first choice in the future.

We have been eating here on a regular basis for a while now. We have taken friends as well as just going as a couple. It is positioned above the Jolly sailor pub so beware there are stairs to climb. There are seats as you enter along with a bar and a room at the back as well. Paula has a wonderful display of photographs from Italy on display to give it a more authentic feel.We have always been warmly welcomed by the staff and you definitely should book to avoid disappointment, they do have a lot of regulars.We have also visited on special occasions such as Halloween, Valentine's Day and new Year's Eve. On these occasions there are always additions to the usual menu or in the case of NYE a set menu which had to be pre ordered.There are always home made bread buns awaiting you followed by another treat on the house. The menu is varied and there is always a specials blackboard. The starter selection is varied but if you plan a dessert go hungry as the starters are definitely not mean portions.We have tried pretty much all the menu between us and whether your taste is pizza, pasta, meat or fish you will not be disappointed. A dish of either veg of gorgeous chunky chips comes with your main from the meat and fish and a side of salad is enough for two should you opt for that.The desserts are very reasonably priced and often have a seasonal special on them. Coffees are a good price and the wine selection is varied and again a decent price. There are a few typically Italian cocktails on offer too.At the end of the meal you are offered a digestif to set you on your way. We have been in a large group for an outing and they cope steadily with delivery of the meals to all without a long gap.The real draw is the friendly welcome and the kindness the staff display along with the obvious hard work to please the customers.Alex has a dry wit and is delighted if you have a good evening.There is a happy hour from 5 with 25% off menu prices.It is closed on a Sunday except for special occasions.

Been quite a few times now and tried a variety of meals are all very good. Nice service with good touches such as complimentary bruchetta and aperitif. Recommend the rib-eye steak which often appears on the specials menu.

Went last Thursday with my partner and been utterly impressed from the specials we had from the black board which reminded us of the great food we had in our many trips to Italy. The service was also remarkable, the staff very attentive and friendly making us feel at home in a relaxed atmosphere. Absolutely spot on, highly recommended.

My husband booked a table for 8pm 23 December 2016 for my 65th birthday. He made the booking well in advance to be sure of a table. We arrived just on 8 o'clock on a cold very blustery evening so we're looking forward to getting our coats off, sitting at our table and ordering our meal in comfort. We booked in at the bar and were asked if we would like a drink. No mention that the table was not available. It is a small busy restaurant with no real room to stand at the bar, we had to shuffle several times to allow the waiters to pass with food. Menus were shuffled across the bar towards us, still no words spoken. After 15 minutes a waiter asked if we were ready to order. Still in our coats and uncomfortable. We complained that we had been waiting for 15 minutes for a previously booked table and was told the couple who had our table were finished and would be leaving soon. Couldn't believe the attitude. We told the staff the service was not good enough and we left. They spoilt my birthday by making us feel were didn't matter. We will never consider the place again.

We had ordered the beef for our Christmas meal been holding back all morning to build up a good appetite it was presented well with some veg not much potato using the knife I tried to cut into the beef but it was just too tuff so managing to get a waiter to get me a steak knife I managed to cut the meat but after a few attempts to chew it was absolutely clear it was uneatable it was just so full of fat and grisly so had to make do with a bit of veg. Having payed good money for a Christmas Day meal it just ruined the occasion some what, so on getting home I had to cook something to eat. The staff where apologetic and friendly I have to say but a restaurant is a place to go for good food after all, and on this occasion I'm afraid it really failed. As for going back again ?

This restaurant is lovely for quiet meals or a date night the food is amazing and quickly prepared and served so you don't have to wait around for long. All of the staff are friendly and polite.

Upstairs above a pub and has a little bit of a run down feel but don't be put off. Food is generally very tasty and excellent value. House wine goes down too well and again a fair price. Bit of squeeze sometimes when 4 of you on a table in the back room but cosy and you can hear each which isn't always the case at some of the other localItalian restaurants. Staff generally very friendly. Mussels were the best I have had for a good while but the garlic prawns as a starter and main seemed to lack garlic and any real taste. Shame as they looked good just didn't taste.Pepper sauce was superb and luckily came in a large gravy jug as I was fighting everyone off who wanted done for their chips. Chips were crisp and tasty - so good they could have been served as a separate course !Some interesting dishes on the specials board but even without the specials the menu has some different dishes as well as all the standard Italian ones. Yes worth a visit

Our first visit for our anniversary. Excellent food and service. The host was hilarious! Home made bread and free appetiser. Reasonably priced. We'll be back!

You wouldn't notice this restaurant normally, it's located above the Jolly sailor pub and has quite a few regular customers. The staff are so welcoming and the food if amazing. It's a true authentic Italian that I don't really want to tell anybody about incase it becomes too popular! A favourite of mine is a pasta dish with broccoli. Not the normal ingredient but it's out of this world.

We turned up last minute but we were able to be seated, so thank you. Lovely food as normal with lovely atmosphere. We love coming here to chill out and relax.

We have been to this restaurant a few times and hav always enjoyed our meals, and drinks. Is fairly priced, service is good, and they do take out for collection only that we hav had a few times.

We had a great meal early evening which was excellent value on the early bird menu. My 9 year old son said it was the best spag bol he has ever had. Pizza and lobster risotto also great. The staff were friendly and great service. Busy with a nice atmosphere.

This family run Italian restaurant is fantastic. The service is great and the staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere. My 4 year old son's favourite meal is their spaghetti bolognese. Highly recommend.

Three adults and three children arrived without booking, staff friendly and helpful. Only wanted a main course each, but little extras, watermelon while we waited for meals were offered. When they came, the meals were superb. Even better, when the bill came discovered we had arrived for 'happy hour' and the pizzas and pasta the children had selected (and which looked so good) were only £5 each.

This is a restaurant that we kept meaning to visit but never did until a few days ago. It is on the first floor and does not have a lift. The handrail could do with a clean and polish so I was a bit wary. The food however was very good. As well as the bread that is given when you sit down, we were also given a piece of water melon which was very nice. My main course was chicken mama mia which was chicken in an orange sauce. Fantastic. Please note that there is no bar area as such.

Visited mamma Mia and the staff were very welcoming and it had lovely decor inside. The food was very tasty and it was very reasonably priced and deffo worth a visit. Perfectly situated in village and very easy for us just to walk down.

Have visited on several occasions and each time the food and service get better, a wonderful atmosphere, food excellent, service superb. This visit was to end a few days holiday and what an ending, absolutely fantastic. No matter what the reason for eating here it has always been a delight.

As the title says another great meal. I had buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes to start followed by a 10 oz fillet steak which was wonderful. My wife had mussels followed by monkfish in parma ham. Excellent attentive service but not rushed. Always a pleasure going here. The only thing that may put people off it is upstairs.

We have always had a good reception and because we are the type of family that go for the full starter , main course and sweet. We have never had a meal that has not been well received . I sometimes have had to stop just to squeeze a sweet in on some occasions. The selection of starter's and main courses are always an issue because we never know what to go for . However the Hot chocolate Fudge cake with Chocolate Ice cream with Pouring cream is a set favourite of mine. We are there again tonight and boy are we looking forward to it.

We called in on the spur of the moment after dropping our daughters off at Beyoncé in Sunderland and had a wonderful meal. We were greeted with welcoming smiles and were well looked after throughout our meal. I had Monkfish in Parma ham with vegetables and my wife had lamb with garlic and rosemary. Both were cooked perfectly. The choices from the menu looked very good but these two were specials from the board and caught our eye. The restaurant decor is simple but effective at creating an Italian feel. We felt it was an excellent choice and would thoroughly recommend it.

This restaurant is within walking distance of our house and we are so lucky to have such a lovely family run restaurant so close by. The food is lovely but it's the friendly welcome and relaxed setting that really makes it a fab experience. Last night we were even provided with a mini decanter for our delicious wine!

Not too big and with a sea view Mamma Mia is a very comfortable place to eat which we do from time to time. Staff are very friendly and relaxed but at the same time professional. The food is good and well priced and you definitely get value for money. I can really recommend it. An added bonus is that on a fine summer's evening you can walk along the prom from Whitburn and on to Seaburn. What more can you want.

Great to have this lovely Italian in our village. Have been there several times since moving to Whitburn last year. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and remember us. Food is always delicious and some of the specials are even better. Various freebies are often given including liquors and bruschetta. It's so nice and has enough choice that if we fancy Italian a visit here is a no brainer. Family and friends agree.

Visited this restaurant for the first time last week, greeted by friendly staff and a menu together with daily specials . A good menu of traditional Italian dishes at reasonable prices. We tried the special board halibut in a lemon sauce. The fish was two beautifully cooked pieces and we shared a side of vegetables and chips. Excellent halibut beautifully presented.

Visited this restaurant with my family yesterday. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service was adequate. The food however (the main reason you go to a restaurant! ) was very poor,the pizza's had very thin very crispy (almost overcooked) bases,with very greasy toppings. The garlic bread again was very crispy (overdone) with to much oil (almost like fried bread).The place was very quiet and if yesterday's food is anything to go by I am sure it will get even quieter.

chose our meals from the menu. starters arrived after a while, they were just say warm and not alot of taste. waited another while (so did others) for our main course and the garlic chicken what was ordered was just flattened deep fried plain chicken. waiter told us they dont do garlic chicken. but it states that they do on the menu. after the waiter checked the menu he went straight to the kitchen to speak with chef. he returned to our table and apologised and said they dont cook the garlic chicken with garlic. ehh! but its on the menu !!. he cancelled the chicken off our bill which was acceptable. overall the food was tasteless and bland. the waitress cleared our plates away and took the unused bread roll aswell, to put on another table for people waiting to be seated. good job we didnt cough or sneeze or wipe our nose on it. been there tried the food but wont be in a hurry to go back.

Had an wonderful evening in what is a bit of a hidden gem. After sharing a beautiful sharing starter off the specials menu (monkfish ravioli and chestnut gnocchi) I enjoyed a lovely Chicken Breast in a creamy sauce with Mushrooms and Prawns. The service is top notch and any restaurant with real ale on tap gets a massive tick in my book!

I'd passed this little restaurant many times and wondered what it would be like. My wife and l went last night ( late decision on a Friday) I rang for a table an hour before and the managed to find me one by the window. The staff were so friendly and could not do enough for us!! The food( starting with the free appetisers of tomato,pesto on toast ) was incredible!!!!! A very generous potato skin starter for me, king prawns in garlic and white wine for my wife- huge pollo cacciatore main for me and generous pasta for Mrs...... We were too full for desert!!!!! Great quality food ( well done chef)food, lovely staff( well done ladies) and very reasonable prices.

A lovely little place located above the jolly sailor pub. Cosy ambiance friendly and efficient service and excellent food. The sea bass is particularly good and the best we've had anywhere. Well worth a visit.

Phoned up tonight at 5.45 ask for a table for 3 adults and 2 children. We were told yes as long as we could finish at 8 pm said yes.The meals were very nice steak diane, pasta, pork ,spaghetti ,garlic bread.All very nice and my great nephew had a vanilla ice cream.Resonably priced. Lovely atmosphere.

What an absolute treat to find this restaurant away from the seafront eateries. The food was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The dining room was comfortable and welcoming - no tables crammed together to maximise space as in other restaurants in the area. All in all a great evening and one we would hope to repeat in the future. We wish the staff well and hope that their hard work brings them the success they deserve.

Have been visiting here quite a lot lately. Its warm welcoming atmosphere and lovely food always draw you back for more. Comfotable and fuss free surroundings make for a cosy and relaxing time. The service is brilliant and the food is gorgeous. Also highly recommend the pub downstairs!

My wife and I decided to try Mamma Mia on the 2nd of October. We found the service to be excellent and friendly along with the food being some of the best italian we've had in a long time. The specials board is excellent and I hadn't realised that what I was wanting to order as a main course ( wild boar ravioli with black forest mushrooms) was actually a special starter so they offered to make a larger portion for me. I think anywhere else would have just told me it was a starter and I would have had to choose something else.............. :-)All the food was excellent I would highly recommend this Italian. I would also book a table as there is limited space but it is well worth it!

We visited this place for the first time tonight and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. As a family we eat out a lot and I have to say we were impressed.The staff were all welcoming and the service swift- as soon as we were seated our drinks order was taken and we were left to browse the menu. The starters arrived and the fiery thing that struck is was the presentation - this was excellent. Just little touches but as an example the prawn cocktail came in a shell. Not over the top though - just right. When the mains arrived they were literally steaming hot - and looked delicious. We ordered spaghetti for my son, my husband got the rib eye steak (which was huge) and I got the lamb (the special). The meat was so succulent and tender. Having enjoyed our starters and mains we decided to order dessert. Well we were not disappointed. My husband had lemon sorbet, my son ice cream and I had tiramisu - all of which were lovely.All in all it is a lovely little place, the staff are lovely and it has a great, chilled atmosphere. The food is was beautiful, well presented but not pretentious - we will definitely be returning.

Visited in July with friends. They had been before and recommended us to accompany them next time they went. Didn't disappoint. Great atmosphere. Very attentive and knowledgable staff. Good menu selection and even better wine list. We discussed with the waiter and tried a couple including one not even on the list when we discussed our taste. Only thing wrong with this restaurant is that it's too far away from home. Even so we will be regular visitors from now on. I've put mid range pricing, but it is probably between mid-range and fine dining range..... Still worth every penny.

Before attending Mamma Mia in Sunderland, be warned that the restaurant is up a long flight of stairs, and that there is no downstairs seating. Fortunately, for those who have difficulty with staircases, there is a side door into the main seating area that skips out the last quarter of them - unfortunately there is no getting around the majority of the passage, however.Once inside, a table was found for our party of six reasonably quickly, and menus were brought. My partner and I found the house white to be very good, and both drinks and starters were brought in good time. Two tomato soups were enjoyed, as well as a garlic pizza bread with cheese, and my pepper and goat cheese bruschetta which was absolutely delicious. In fact it was so delicious, that upon the starters being cleared away I asked to add some goat cheese to my pizza; the waitress, unfortunately, took a long time to understand what I was asking for, and even after she left we were still not certain that she had understood. Fortunately, when my pizza arrived, it did have goat cheese on it. The pizzas tasted good, and my other toppings (tuna and onion) were nice, but on all of them the bases were appallingly bad. They were floppy and soft, not at all like the thin and firm traditional Italian bases; these were even worse than the bases at Dominos. The Spaghetti Bolognese was reportedly also good in flavour, but absolutely swimming in far too much sauce that made the dish get a bit sickly after a while.The meal was enjoyed by four of our party, with the other two coming away disappointed. Fortunately, I was in the former grouping - though I would definitely recommend that the chef of the restaurant learns how to make a proper pizza base before returning. Prices were good in comparison, but regrettably the food quality makes me feel that it was all going so well... until the main courses were made.

Visited on a Wednesday evening in July. Party of 6. Located above the Jolly Fisherman pub in Whitburn. There are a steep set of stairs up to the restaurant which may be a problem for the elderly. Staff pleasant enough and we were seated quickly with no reservation. Starters - tomamto soup - very good, a goats cheese starter and a garlic bread - both of which were enjoyed but be warned the garlic bread is large. Mains - those of our party who had pizzas thoroughly enjoyed them. However the three of us who ordered pasta, all felt there was a common fault. Way too much sauce - after eating half a bowl it was difficult to find the pasta in the thick sauce. Definitely spoilt the enjoyment of the dish and none of the three of us finished our pasta. The price was reasonable, but I would not chose to return. Only the fact that the starters were good and the pizzas were enjoyed prevented this being a 2 star review

Just visited mamma mia for the first time. From the outside doesn't look special neither the massive stairs make it plesant. But when u got inside you are welcome by very nice staff, got the table straight away and even though our order hasnt been taken for a while it was worth to wait. Food was superb and left us really full. It was nice we could have taken a break before our main course. Apple crumble wasn't too good but overall really really enjoyed that place. Definitely be back!!

Just had another great meal at Mama Mia. The food is always excellent. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. We can not recommend this restaurant highly enough. It never fails to deliver.

Visited tonight on the recommendation of friends. Excellent evening. The squid and mussel starters were cooked to perfection. I had the fresh swordfish from the specials board in a little olive oil and fresh lemon - delightful. Lovely to hear nice Italian music in the background. The service was great. We will be back!

This was our first visit. We arrived for Happy Hour and immediately liked the décor and staff. The staff were excellent and very professional. The meal, shared with our Australian visitors, was excellent - fresh, beautifully cooked and served. I never dreamed that we had such a gem on our doorstep. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

As others have stated, the staff in here cannot be faulted - every single one is exceptionally friendly and welcoming....in fact, I don't think I've ever encountered such lovely restaurant staff! We booked for Father's Day Sunday lunch, expecting it to be packed as we had tried on other occasions to get in, but it was always too busy. However, we were very surprised to be the only people there until just before we left. Unfortunately that meant there was just no atmosphere, and eating with two children meant I was very conscious of any noise they made. Not the restaurants fault of course, but an empty restaurant isn't great to sit in :-( The food on the whole was lovely (as was the gorgeous sangria!) and we enjoyed the meal. In particular, the lobster ravioli was very tasty, and my husband loved his steak.

What can I say, another fabulous meal, can't get any better, food is second to none, staff are so friendly and service is very good give it 5 stars *****

we went there last week, it's becoming quite a regular place for us, as it is just walking distance, what can I say, once again the food was superb good atmosphere and lovely friendly staff, will give it 5 stars*****

been meaning to try this place for quite sometime and just got round to it. 6 of us went and the service was excellent, it was a bit of mixed reviews from people about the food but generally good.Would definitely recommend the chicken alla crema best I have tasted for sometime, mussels could have done with a little more sauce but the taste was excellent.Prices not bad for main meals but starters a little more expensive than other Italians
