The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

I loved this place, always visited when we stayed at the Cresta Court airport hotel down the road. Always a friendly welcome, fabulous food, incredible cocktails. We were so sad to turn up and find it closed. I've recommended this to lots of my friends. I hope it will re-open one day as it was really missed on our last visit

Excelente pizza y pasta. Personal muy amable que es muy acogedor y cómodo con mi hijo salvaje ASD. Realmente aprecio un lugar donde el personal no muestra miedo a las necesidades especiales y este es uno de los lugares más acogedores en los que he estado. Una ventaja adicional es que sus pizzas Margarita y Quattro Formaggi son increíbles - fabulosas bases italianas y sabor. ¡Me lleva directamente a Italia!

You might think from this review I'm the owners dad, but when a restaurant goes the extra 50 miles, they are worth gushing over. The food delicious 😋 The staff, genuinly delightful! The atmosphere - exemplary! The chef is a brilliant example of a human being. Eat here, you will not regret it at all.

Vine a Paulos el sábado por la noche con un par de amigos. El restaurante estaba muy ocupado y el personal era increíble y muy atento. Tuvimos una botella de bonacchi chianti 2021 entre 3 de nosotros. La carta de vinos era excepcional y había mucha variedad. Para empezar pedimos jamón y melón de Parma, calabacín y sardinas. Todo estaba muy fresco y sabroso. Para nuestras comidas principales, pedimos lasaña, lingüine de pescatore y salti en bocca alla romana (ternera), luego un par de lados de espinacas y puré cremoso para acompañar la ternera. El lasanga fue el mejor que he probado. Vino servido caliente y el camarero me ofreció parmesano y pimienta negra después de recibir mi plato. En general tuve una gran experiencia cenando en Paola. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante y volveré de nuevo muy pronto. Gracias de nuevo por la increíble experiencia!

So very sad to hear that Massimos has closed. We have spent many happy times there, with lovely food. We are left with our memories, and offer our good wishes to all the family in any future endeavours. Tim and Janet.

Really disappointing meal, when we arrived we were asked if we had booked we had but it wasn't there don't think it mattered though. We were sat by the window which was a little cold and we felt a bit forgotten about. I think we waited about 20 minutes to ask what drink we wanted they then came fairly quickly. Menu looked promising with lots of choice. Had garlic bread with cheese to start, didn't really taste of garlic and the base tasted cheap and premade. This came about 40 minutes into the meal This wasn't a good omen for the pizza we had a four cheese and a picante, the cheese tasted good on the four cheese but the tomato sauce was lacking in flavour and it had the same nasty base. The picante and a spicy chilli next to it on the menu but had some tiny flecks of chilli in it and a pathetic amount of pepperoni. Our friends had pasta and didn't enjoy that either. It took about an hour to get to the point when the mains came out and the restaurant was hardly full. When the owner took the plates we asked for the bill but 20 minutes later that hadn't come so we walked up ourselves and paid. Didn't tip which is the first time in ages. Would not return, felt abandoned in the conservatory area poor service and below average food.

Friday pm. Around 8ish. Called to order a couple of pizzas for collection. First call rang, and rang, and rang and eventually rang out. Tried again, call finally answered, I was asked to hold the line, could hear a separate conversation going on within the restaurant, waited for a further minute, no one had come back, put the phone down and ended up eating at home and saved £25. They must be inundated with custom that they can lose business…

Delicious orange lemonade and ham and cheese pediona (I’m probably misspelling it- but it was a lovely flat Italian bread). Affordable and a good pit stop.

My husband planned a surprise birthday meal for me, and it turned out there were ten of us. The rest of the party had pre-ordered their food, they allowed me to choose as soon as I got there. The food and drink service was prompt as always. Delicious meals, plentiful portions and piping hot. Our server Daniel is always polite, friendly and obliging, knowledgeable about the menu. We’ve been here many times and we’ll be coming back again for sure. It’s an intimate little restaurant but perfectly capable of accommodating a large party.

It’s a nice little restaurant very cosy and serves good food nice place to go for dinner my family all enjoyed it

No puedo dejar 'Loulou's' fuera de mis críticas londinenses, aunque he expresado mi opinión en otros lugares. En primer lugar la comida: Es poco aventurero, bellamente cocinado, presentado y servido, y asquerosamente, el cabello - cada vez más caro. En cuanto al aspecto del lugar, podría haber sido diseñado por un comité de obispos medievales, o posiblemente la selección de fútbol de Inglaterra. El cardenal Wolsey conoce a los Beckham. Birley presumiblemente visitó Versalles, tomó algunas fotos y decidió que era justo lo que Mayfair necesitaba. Lamentablemente para él, la clase real siempre es discreta. La actitud moderna -en gran medida transatlántica- que requiere que los de vasta riqueza se aseguren de que todos los demás lo sepan, no seguirá de moda por mucho tiempo.

My food was ok. My friends was cold and had a very strong aftertaste of what we think was olive oil. The music was very loud so it was not a relaxing atmosphere. The waiter took my friends dishes away before I had finished and then we realised he had taken our pot of tea as well. Won’t return.
