The food here is amazing, really tasty. We came here last night. My husband and I had the spaghetti bolognese and the kids had pizza from the bambino menu. Then for desserts we had profiteroles and the amaretto cheesecake. I cannot rate it highly enough for quality and value for money. We have eaten here four or five times now and have never been disappointed. Would come here every night if I could. I don't write reviews very often - well hardly ever; but if you want excellent food at a very reasonable price you should try this one.

The best Italian restaurant in the town. We were a party of 6, 3 generations of family and we have been coming to Aldo’s both here and in his first restaurant for over 20 years. Always a great welcome, and Amber the waitress is like one of the family, we love her to bits. Aldo’s food is genuine, it’s generous, it’s rich it’s bloody delicious. We started with a garlic bread and a garlic and tomato bread, lovely and crisp and tasty, then chicken wings in a BBQ sauce, sticky ribs falling off the bone, Polpette Boscaiola,(meatballs in a rich red wine, mushroom and tomato sauce), and Fegatini di Pollo, (chicken livers, pan fried with onion, garlic and a little chilli), all excellent For mains it was Spaghetti Bolognese, two Bologna pizzas, Calzone pizza with spinach and ricotta and a tomato sauce served separately, Pollo Cacciatore served with a dish of fresh veg and Monkfish in garlic and chill which my husband had with a spicy pasta, he said it was superb, my grandsons, despite being to full to eat all their mains, (they have the remains for lunch the next day), decided that dessert was called for, so tiramisu and blackcurrant cheesecake, and both got a thumbs up. Hubby and I shared a bottle of wine, and had a coffee to round off a fabulous evening. Amber brings a smile to all she serves and is an asset to Aldo’s. Give it a try if you’re looking for the real deal, you will not be disappointed!

Have been eating here since the week it opened. It hasn’t changed much and neither has the menu, but working on the “if it isn’t broken” principle then you have to argue it’s definitely doing something right. Have enjoyed too many meals here over the years to remember but our last one was unforgettable for the wrong reason. After enjoying yet another meal here the other night we were about to place our dessert selection and as my son is coeliac he asked what desserts were gluten free. The waitresses response….and wait for it because it’s an absolute master class in what NOT to say.…was….”I have no idea”. I’m sorry, you have no idea??? She didn’t even make ANY attempt to go and find out (or as far as the law is concerned) provide my son with the legally required list of allergens on the menu. To say the entire table was stunned into silence was an understatement. As this was a family meal paid for by my elderly mother to save her any discomfort or embarrassment the matter was not pursued. Instead we declined any desserts, she paid and we all left. Never to return again regrettably. Valentino’s needs some serious and urgent staff training if the response to a legitimate question concerning something as important as food allergies is “I have no idea”. They have been reported to the FSA who will hopefully be able to provide them with the help they so badly need.

Absolutely LOVE this restaurant!! Been 4 times now in the last 2 months and every meal has been absolutely perfect! Zachary & co are brilliant waiters and so lovely to myself and my toddler, blaine. Blaine even had a dance with them at the music night which was brilliant! Totally recommend booking your dinner that night especially! Service is always quick but we don’t feel rushed! There’s nothing I don’t like about this restaurant and I cannot wait to make my way through everything on the menu! See you soon Joanna, Ryan and Blaine

Booked the private room for a work gathering. It was on the advice of some colleagues - so went with it. Was not impressed that I was told 12.5% would be added to every drink and the buffet. It was non negotiable. On the evening the room looked pretty and the staff were nice, especially the gentleman who I think, may run the restaurant. He was excellent. When I queried the amount of food for the £400 we had paid - he couldn’t have been more helpful in replenishing it. However I thought this was damage limitation, as the snooty serving staff said - yes, this is it! I am not convinced the service charge goes to the staff - so I get her attitude. But overall, it is overpriced and not a patch on Carluccio’s.

We booked this place online, received reminders of the booking and it was only on turning up to eat did we find out it was closed indefinitely. There's clearly some automated booking system still active so be warned. Shame it’s closed as the place actually looked really cozy.

Popped in here for lunch as it looked busy and cosy from the outside. We both had wild mushrooms - hen of the woods, king oyster etc. with garlic on toasted sourdough. Most delicious and a generous portion. Would definitely come back here.

Second review for this restaurant Firstly the drinks order. I ordera "strong" orange cordial with tap water, as you can see from the picture it cannot be described as strong One of party ordered a fresh orange and lemonade, he received a similar drink to mine ie cordial and water The Bruschetta the picture can explain Finally the Pizza when it arrived it was stone cold and in my opinion undercooked. We called the waitress over who went to report this. The owner came over picked up my Pizza to prove it was cooked ( no gloves) I told him exactly the same. He then took the Pizza away and reheated it I had the same Pizza returned this rendered it inedible ( it was like cardboard very over cooked) Once again I complained only to be told " no one else had complained " After a very short discussion it was decided that we wouldn't be charged ( we couldn't wait for a fresh Pizza as we were attending a show which they were aware of this). As one of the party paid the bill an apology was offered, but not to me
