Five of us called in while in London nearby for a business lunch. Very different as you have to do down into an underground area. The decor is modern but with an industrial/classic feel. I am not a fan of pizza but we all ordered pizza as recommended by one of our group and I am glad we did as it was very good - as far as pizza goes. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for somewhere interesting and quirky. The only down side was it was a bit pricey but I suppose we were in London!

When we finally found it we were totally unsure of where we were meant to go for food and staff were whizzing in and out of a door which was the kitchen and no one asked if we were ok, when we were finally told abruptly that it's down the stars (in the tiny kitchen area) we were shown to a table and which my partner was glad it was happy hour on the cocktails still! We ordered our food and it was really nice! And for the price completely spot on! Couldn't fault the food! However the one thing we were disgruntled by was the 12.5% added on for a tip, I don't feel we got the personal service to add on a 10 pound tip at all!! And not only that because the bill came after happy hour we were charged full price. As we felt we were being a lead on a little to take our money as much as possible and as quick as possible we didn't stay for another drink as first planned when we chose to eat there. We were in a awkward spot where people were knocking our chairs to get past and standing right next to table having conversations. So this put a damper on the evening and chose else where to drink and continue our evening! But I will emphasise that if you are going out a good food then I really can't fault the place.

I love going to London and sitting outside in Covent Garden watching the hundreds of tourists walk by. And I like italian food so it's a win win. I had a margarita pizza with chicken which was perhaps a bit greasy but I still ate it all as I was very hungry and love pizza but there lovely thin bases so they are nice. We also had the beef stew which was fab and a mushroom pizza and goats cheese pizza. Quite expensive but you are paying of the scenery. A treat for the hard workers!

As a party of 8 (4 children in toe!) we looked for a place for a quick lunch. We saw 21 and asked if they have a space for us, thinking they are only in the piazza. The helpful lady showed us inside and downstairs into what opened up to be in impressive (small and snug- but big at the same time) restaurant. Its like entering the tardis! We got seated next to an impressive fish tank, which entertained the kids to no end. We were in a booth that was like a cave, it was very cosy and nice. We ordered pizzas, garlic bread and olives. The food was delicious! The olives have jalapenos on them so they are spicey. The pizzas are really excellent. They are very big though- one pizza is enough to share between 2 adults. Be warned though- it is a pricey restaurant and the bill quickly mounts up. So if you are in the area- give it a try :)

Friendly staff, good Italian food, pizza, pastas and stews. A limited choice but fine, vegetarian and meat dishes. Authentic pizzas and pasta. We only had the one course and a couple of us had drinks, think with the service charge it cost about £18/head. The building is semi underground and this provides an interesting setting. It's seemed less busy than some of the other restaurants in Covent Garden.

Pizza was very nice, however the staff service was poor. The manager was argumentative and domineering, whilst the waitress was slow and inattentive - except when collecting the bill. At one point she leaned over us to collect the two plates - which had been empty a while - only to pull her hands away in order to turn around and coo over the newly seated family's baby. May I add the family with the baby had been seated by my friend and I who were smoking at the table (the baby placed closest to where the ash tray was). This made both parties feel exceptionally apologetic and uncomfortable. So yes, good pizza, but is it really that much better than many other places in London? At that price, certainly not.

We wanted a nice Italian meal around Covent Garden and found this online, London is so busy and sometimes you look at a place and its bursting at the seems so imagine you would never get a table which is why we booked up. On arrival it was raining, they have a lot of outside area covered over which was heaving with people, I thought we may be sitting amongst the throng of the crowd and eating soggy pizza but we went up to a member of staff and because we had booked we were ushered straightaway downstairs which was absolutely delightful, full of character and had a lovely cosy ambiance. We ordered an antipasti platter of meat cheese and bread to start. This alone would have been sufficient for the meal, for our mains we both had pizza and although they were really lovely neither of us could finish because we had so much to eat, if you knew my other half that doesn't happen often so you certainly get good portions here needless to say I can't comment on deserts but wine was good and not expensive. Our whole meal with a bottle of wine and water came to about £77 which I think was fantastic value for the great food and fantastic service that we had. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

The cookie and ice cream sandwich was larger than expected (no complaints there) the boss couldn't decide wether to climb eat or eat it, she went for the latter and it was fantastic! Very friendly waitress which helped make for a perfect evening. My friend and I were going to the Royal Opera House and were looking for something fairly affordable in the area. I found this place through one of the restaurant booking sites and went for the set menu. When I got there, I noticed that there were a couple of free tables outside and since it was fairly mild and there were heaters, I asked if I could sit outside. The answer was "yes" but the set menu does not apply outside (!!). As I did not want to pay a fortune, I decided to sit inside, which was almost empty. The area looks okay but being in the LG floor means that there is no signal so I could not reach my friend. No wi-fi either so no communication with the outside world. And some people may argue that this is good because it's nice to have dinner with someone without phones etc etc but it's extremely difficult when you try to arrange to meet with someone. When I asked about wifi, I got a funny reaction from the person working there (it must have been the reservations manager or something, not one of the waiters as they were all nice and friendly) as if I told them that the restaurant was dirty! I was not asking for anything unreasonable. Anyway, I had to go up and down the steps to be outside a couple of times to send my friend a message then up again because someone my husband was popping in to say hello. They could not find the place so I spent all this time going up trying to explain them. The food was okay but nothing wow. Service was slow and we did not have time for the 3rd course or a coffee as the show was to start. Our reservation was for 6pm and the show started at 7:30pm and we only had 2 courses. There is plenty of choice in Covent Garden so I would not return.

Booked a table for lunch with friends at 21 Convent garden on a weekend. When we arrived we had to look around for the entrance of the main restaurant, as there was also an open-air section of the restaurant. We were led down to the basement that reminded us of a wine cave, with brick walls and wooden accents. The server was friendly and quickly brought us the menu. We decided on sharing some starters; the crostini selection, croquettes and risotto to start, and ordered the baby chicken and fish as a main. The crostini and croquettes were very tasty, but the risotto was definitely the highlight; creamy and full of truffle taste. The Spatchcock (baby chicken) was well cooked and tasty. The fish was good, but nothing special. Overall, it was a great lunch. Next time though, I would dine in their open-air section that over looks the Convent garden square.

Pouring rain and a busy morning left us wanting a good lunch in Covent Garden, we literally went to the first place we saw that did Italian food and I'm so glad we did. There was outside seating for very brave souls but they also have 2 floors of indoor seating. It's beautifully decorated inside, lots of photos of film stars - some autographed to the owner's family, and the staff were lovely. They do a very reasonable 2 or 3 course lunch special and I found a pizza on the menu that I hadn't seen since we were in Rome! My friend's macaroni cheese was delicious and my pizza was excellent. We both had dessert and they too were excellent, very innovative way of serving the chocolate pot in a kilner jar and my gelato was served with a cup of espresso and a shot of hazelnut liqueur to pour onto the gelato as I pleased. Service was quick, efficient and friendly and I think this was my favourite restaurant in my whole stay in London. It is definitely on my list of places I must visit again next time I go to London. Booked a table for late afternoon/ early evening dinner with a friend at 4.30. Understandly the place was quiet at that time. We were led downstairs from the hustle of Covent Garden piazza to the vaults under the building. Has a nice feel, lots of booths and even though a lot of tables it doesn't feel packed in! We ordered drinks to start and then a sharing board. It was nice, lots of variety and presented well. We then had a figaro pizza and the crab linguine as mains to share. The pizza was great but the pasta was a bit sticky. The flavour was lovely but as you put your fork in it the entire contents of the bowl were trying to leave with the fork. We seemed to have an ongoing issue with getting drinks. We'd order then for all bar one order we had to remind someone.Don't get me wrong it was a nice meal and the guy who came on duty for the evening shift as a waiter was better than his predecessors but I don't think the service we received warranted the service charge that was included in the bill. We went to 21 before the theatre for my birthday, and so had the pre-theatre menu. We had allowed almost 2 hours before the show started, so it should have been fine; also surely the nature of the pre-theatre menu is that it is quick?? Not the case; the food was painfully slow and didn't come out until almost 7 (the show started at half past!!!) despite us frequently asking. When the food did come out it was completely wrong; not even things from the menu we had ordered from!! It was not like it was a complex order; four margarita pizzas and a couple of pastas. I am vegetarian and was given a pizza covered in meat. I was told there was no time to make anything else for me and so I spent my birthday meal picking bits of meat off a pizza which I then had to wolf down just so I had something to eat. My grandma's pasta was cold. And the food we did get wasn't even nice (even overlooking the fact that it was late, cold and wrong). So upset, and then we had to absolutely sprint to the theatre where we nearly weren't allowed in because the show had started. Horrible. It was meant to be a special trip for my birthday, had taken the day off work to come up, and 21 royally ruined it.

great place in Covent garden, lovely rooftop terrace for a drink, had a good meal in the restaurant, inexpensive for London, we had pizza and a pasta dish, no complaints, and the house wine was cheap, my second visit

Not really knowing where to eat in Covent Garden we picked here as it was close to where the Main Street performers do their thing and it had a kids menu (ours are 3 & 7). Although we were seated quite close to the neighbouring table they were very good about it and it was a table right on the edge of the outside area which meant the children were able to go off and watch the street entertainers and we could see them. Yes, the food wasn't gourmet. Yes, it was a little overpriced, but you know that before you sit down. You are paying for the the location in Central London. The service was good, friendly and the food and drinks came out quickly. I would definitely return especially if we were sitting outside next to the street entertainers.

We ate here before our theatre show. What a mistake. Our reservation was downstairs in what can only be described as a near dungeon. Low ceilings, poor lighting, cramped space. The decor is wobbly tables and chair and onld movie photos placed haphazardly around. The food was mediocre, nothing special at all. There are so many other options in Covant Garden, skip this one. In fact run away quickly.

We ate inside - downstairs in the cellar and it was stifling hot. No ac and tables were close together. We ordered baby chicken, salad, pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and the ravioli. The food was very bland and took forever. I won't be back. They have a nice upper deck but they don't have any food. Watch out for the 12% service charge. Its a tourist trap in Covenant Garden.

Stopped in here on our first night in London and had a meal, it was great sitting outside and watching everyone go by. The food was delicious especially the chocolate pot for dessert, was scrummy too.Overall a nice wee place to enjoy a meal that doesn't cost the earth.

If you fancy being shouted at by a waiter (he was working outside and had a beard).....then this is the place to be!!! You need to sit and be gone in 10mins if you don't want to be shouted at. My friend and I waited and waited to order drinks, then before our drinks arrived we were told to either order in two minutes and leave. Awful man.....basic customer service training needs to be addressed.

Well, we came for a quick meal before a show, and that is what we got. Mediocre pizza, the antipasti were ok but not exciting. All well presented but not a lot of flavour. Ok for a quick grab before the show, indeed.

Covent Garden is a superb tourist draw, and great fun, but the downside can be indifferent to downright poor food and service from restaurants where almost all of the clients are tourists/passing trade. So it was with some concern that I booked 21 Covent Garden which is right on the piazza itself. We had an early booking for four (pre-theatre) so the restaurant was quiet when we arrived. The layout downstairs is a warren of alcoves and small spaces, great for a degree of privacy and probably much easier to converse in with friends when the place is full, unlike large open spaces where the noise can be deafening, . The waiter was friendly and helpful, even going back to the bar to check for me on the provenance of a Cuban rum that I had not had before. We ordered a selection of cocktails for the four of us, all of which were excellent,We followed this with a sharing plate of Italian meat and cheese which was plenty between us, and excellent quality. For main courses we had three of their enormous thin crust pizzas and a pasta dish. Everyone thought the food was excellent. Certainly I found I had plenty of toppings on my pizza and we were all happy and full by the end of the meal.Averaging out at £35 per head including service, those cocktails AND a very nice bottle of Pinot Grigio rosé made it a good value as well as a good quality meal for this area. Service was fine throughout and I would definitely go there again.

We booked a table for 6 of us at 21 to celebrate the 16th birthday of the daughter of a friend visiting from the US. As they were in the area we did some research on Italian restaurants in Covent Garden and thought 21 would be a good choice. The staff were all extremely helpful and nice; no complaints there at all. However when the food arrived we were very disappointed. The pizzas were £14+, very thin with minimal cheese & pepperoni and the pasta dishes looked and tasted as if they had been warmed up; not good at all.

Spent a sunny Saturday evening eating the most amazing pizza, with great atmosphere.Who could ask for more. Service was good. Tables are tight but even that was fun. Got to know the other couple on our table and it made the whole experience even better.Looked good inside too but loved being out right by the performers. Perfect London summer evening.

We had previously gone here and had enjoyed the atmosphere of covent garden. But it is the location that makes this and not the service! We were seated at 15.30 (not lunchtime or dinner time) . We ordered drinks and desserts. We were asked f there was anything else and as there wasn't our order was placed. However 10 mins later we were told we had to leave! As we didn't want main meals they could not serve us. It was so embarrassing being told to leave. We had our 2 young children with us who were both really upset. Everyone was looking at us as we were told we had to leave. No one mentioned we had to order a main meal and no one asked us how much we would order before we were seated. What was worse was waiting 10 minutes after ordering before being told we had to leave! Obviously the £30 we would have spent wasn't enough for them!!!! Clearly money means more than customer service. I know this review wont effect this business but would I go back---no chance!!!

We decided to eat here after walking past other visitors to the restaurant and having serious pizza envy. We dined outside in the piazza as the weather was so good and each enjoyed a lovely pizza and glass of wine. You can at least pretend you are in Italy :)

I pre-booked a table at this restaurant with my husband for his 60th birthday whilst we were visiting London accompanied by our grandchildren aged 11 and 16 years. I had informed them that it was a special occasion and asked for a good table. On arrival we were shown to a table in the main restaurant, they have a roof top terrace so I was a little disappointed but accepted what we were offered. Once we had finished dining we paid and made our way to the roof top to have a final drink but were stopped as we were told it was for diners only. On the way out a large outdoor section with benches and tables was cordoned off and approximately 75% of which was available. We sat ourselves down but then were told again that this was for diners, although it was more or less empty we could not sit there. When I complained the staff member shrugged and said rules are rules. The food was good not great but the whole evening was spoiled by the restrictions and lack of flexibility - I wouldn't go here again.

Me encanta la comida aquí, la baguette de salchichas de desayuno es el negocio, aunque el puntaje es bajo para el servicio, que generalmente es un poco "agudo".

Walking I noticed this small pizzeria characterized by a wood oven. The furniture is typical of an Italian trattoria. The staff is friendly, rapid and attentive to the customer just as you expect in Italy. The pizza is exceptional. The dough is well leavened and, therefore, light. The condiments are of excellent quality. Cooking is perfect. Excellent beer and ice cream also fully satisfies the palate. The account is adequate.
