There are lots of cafes around Piccadilly but most are part of chains. This authentic Italian cafe is a delight. Lovely owners, comfortable atmosphere and delicious food. Over the past few years we have enjoyed freshly prepared lunch dishes and especially the breakfasts of freshly squeezed orange juice, Greek yogurt and berries and good coffee on many occasionsI would definitely recommend this restaurant

It was suggested that I try this restaurant by some friends when I told them I was visiting the RA's current exhibition and what a little gem! Although very busy and I had not booked, the charming lady in charge found me a table in the window and was soon back to take my order. The delicious coffee arrived almost at once and the freshly made toasted sandwich arrived shortly afterwards. Although not cheap (is there anywhere in London that is cheap nowadays?) it was good value with a good sized portion. There is a special daily lunch menu available together with the normal full menu and I have every intention of returning for an evening dinner!.

RIP OFF CAFE !!My husband and I visited Petrocchi yesterday for fresh juices my husband ordered orange and I ordered pineapple . On the menu all the fresh juices are listed at from £3.50 , the word from is printed in tiny tiny letters, and as any normal person would i just assumed all the juices would be priced at or around £3.50 as the waiter did not comment at all on the prices as we ordered them . The juices took about 15 minutes to arrive which is another matter entirely however we received our bill the orange juice was priced at £3.50 and my pineapple juice at £6.50!!?!!! My husband and I queried this price as it didn't seem right that we were being charged almost DOUBLE without no notice ?! I am assuming we questioned the manager Francesca who told me curtly that some juices cost more than others . I responded to this by telling her that If she was going to charge double for some juices then it's a bit naughty not to let the customer know at the time of ordering, which she responded to with " not its not" and just waited for us to leave !!! I could not believe the sheer level of RUDENESS . NO kind apology or empathy about the confusion at all !!!!! I have been here a few times, both for a sit-down meal (where I was served by friendly, junior staff and the food was good) and a number of times now for their take-away service. The idea of a take-away is brilliant and the choices are fantastic, ranging from pastas to salads. Unfortunately, this means the entrance of this tiny restaurant is clogged with take-away customers waiting for a very long time whilst customers choose and tailor their take-aways and meals are prepared on the spot, e.g. cheese is melted in the oven and chicken fillets cut whilst you wait. This means most take-aways take a good 5-7 minutes to serve from start to finish, much too long to wait for if it's busy. In addition, they are exceptionally pricey with extra charges thrown in at the ladies' discretion. I suppose complaints about this may cause their moody disposition. The more junior lady who serves at the take-away has a long-suffering face and a slow rhythm, the senior lady (owner?) wears a thin smile but struggles to disguise her disdain for her customers. Shame, a few tweaks could make this venture a lot more successful.

My Colleague and I decided to try this restaurant one lunchtime as it was near to our office and I'm so pleased we did as it's a real gem and would agree with another reviewer that it's the best Italian in town.our food was fantastic and didn't take long to arrive and the service was great, it's one of the few places I have been and came away satisfied with both the food and service and would definitely recommend.

I work in the area and ever since Petrocci opened I try to have lunch there 2-3 times per week. It is delightful to have a place in Mayfair (an area where most places are over-priced and over-rated) that offers great fresh food at a fair price. The service is extremely friendly, the interior very elegant and welcoming. Highly recommendable...

I am a regular at this small refurbished cafe-restaurant, where the food is fresh and of generous proportions, and served with elan and fun by their helpful European staff. The fresh orange juice and fine coffee confirms it my favourite for a light lunch in the west end.

Thankfully, we were tipped off about this little gem by the doorman of a nearby hotel, otherwise we would have walked straight passed. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing! The ingredients were fresh and beautifully prepared; the pasta was freshly made in-house. Each flavour was distinct and none overpowering. The cakes and coffee were also wonderful. We were in the area by chance but would make the effort to return just to eat here again. Highly recommended.

Really good value no nonsense Italian cafe offering unpretentious but good quality food at fair prices. On an area dogged by overpriced restaurants this is a good place for a quick lunch . Loos are very trendy!

Petrocchi is not a Michelin starred restaurant - but that's a good thing! The ingredients are if a very high quality, but unlike Michrlin starred restaurants, the portions are plentiful. This is the kind of restaurant to come to if you appreciate fine dining but have an appetite and don't want to spend a King's Ransom!!We had a mixture of plates and between us I tried the Burrata (incredible!), Vitello Tonnata (wonderful), octopus (not my usual choice, but very tasty), prawns with samphire and carpaccio if beef (both sublime). We then had pasta dishes for main courses (orichiette with salsiccia and taglietelle with veal ragu) which were both amazing. This is a restaurant for those who appreciate good food and like generous portions! I recommend it heartily.

Opposite the Royal Institute - which is also worth a visit Mon-Fri or on monthly family days- as other reviews state, it's a gem. Relaxed, warm friendly service, modern Italianate interior and great food. Worth a visit for the gelati and coffee alone. Infinitely better than any of the chain restaurant and cafe offerings on the busier streets nearby.

We've lunched here twice now, both times having an excellent salad, and thoroughly enjoyed it. On our first visit the weather was good and we ate outdoors so we were pleasantly surprised to find such a smart interior when we went in to pay. The staff are pleasant and friendly. My only criticism today was that the avocado that should have appeared in my salad had been replaced with courgette, without me being told. I hate courgettes but luckily my husband doesn't so he took mine. I didn't mention it but had I been lunching alone without someone to eat my courgette I would have drawn attention to it as I feel it should have been mentioned. However the rest of the salad was delicious and we will certainly eat there again when we're in the area. It's very convenient for the Royal Academy, and situated in a street with some very interesting private galleries.

Do not let the first impression from the street slow down your entry to this wonderful restaurant. It may have a slightly unusual physical layout and ambiance, but the staff are very accommodating and hospitable and the food is simply wonderful. Imaginative in nature, superb in quality, delightfully over the top in experience....this one deserves a try.

Being someone that loves restaurants, I am always looking for new place to eat in London. This restaurant is located in the heart of Mayfair. You can see Petrocchi has recently been refurbished with a great Italian/modern style. The service is fantastic and being in the hospitality industry, this is always great to see. Service comes first for me, however the menu here is also very tasty! Great atmosphere with perfect mood lighting and music. Great wine list which goes well with your meal. Must try the Veal and home made pasta, made fresh every day. Desserts are to die for!P.S The bathrooms are worth a visit!RO

Do not be fooled by the food counter at the entrance. This is a great new find and a great addition to Italian restaurants in this area of West End. Great food from a great menu, fresh and well severed by good staff. The whole experience under caring supervision from the owner just works. Already a favorite for lunch, going to dine in evening for first time this week. Wow!
