What an awful manager. The male manager spoke to his young teenage worker like dirt. I absolutely can’t stand seeing young kids in their first jobs being treated like rubbish. The food was below average and the prices above average. Poor service from the manager Excellent service from the teenager. Disappointing and won’t be back.

Visited here for a coffee and cake with my mum and dog. We sat outside, and as soon as the waitress came out (this took about 15 mins) she told me my cockapoo was not allowed on the chair - except he wasn’t on the chair, he was on my lap. Totally understand if he was on one of the cheap red plastic chairs but he didn’t even touch it. Least “dog friendly” place I’ve been to. My mum mentioned he was on my chair and not my lap before I got to say it, but she ignored us. She then proceed to make us get up and move the table for literally no reason. We ordered coffee, hot chocolate and cakes, waited around another 15 mins - coffee was very small and overpriced. Hot chocolate was cold. Definitely not worth the money, not a nice atmosphere and I’ll be happily visiting Grain and Grind next door where the coffee is much nicer and I don’t get told to get my own dog off my own lap :)

This is an appalling business! I have since read many awful reviews on Google and TripAdvisor which highlight the rude man who appears to be the manager. We visited for coffee. First of all, the deli is dirty and unkept. The staff appear to be young and inexperienced, they are clearly not trained and are in fact belittled by the older man who again seems to be the manager. This is uncomfortable in itself and a horrible way to treat staff. There was a customer waiting for vouchers, who followed the manager around the restaurant as he had been waiting and was keen to be served. He was then passed to another younger staff member who was unsure on how to take payment. This was witnessed by myself and likely by the other customers. Another customer was told there were no cannolis as the ones on display were off/out of date and we could also hear conversations behind the counter from staff looking for utensils & milk etc. Overall very disorganised, unprofessional and generally unpleasant. We waited more than 20 minutes for two coffees. I was served a horrible iced coffee that was mostly milk and definitely not the high quality Italian coffee that they advertise. I could hear the girl behind the counter asking what was wrong and it was clear she had not been given adequate training. The coffee was remade but by this time I was entirely put off and probably should have taken the initiative to walk out. The coffee came back in a regular latte glass, had been shaken in a cocktail shaker and the ice had been removed. Not what you expect nor what I had asked for. I was told the coffee had been tried and was lovely! Horrifying to think the manager had put a straw in my coffee and tried it for himself let alone tell me with confidence. When I handed him the coffee back explaining there was no ice he took the opportunity to patronise and degrade me. He tried to tell me that an iced coffee can’t be served with ice in it as it would just melt and turn to water and that he wasn’t happy as he’d just wasted two coffees which cost him money. He also asked me to explain how I would usually have my coffee and what I expected. I was then told if I’m going to order I must be clear on what I want and I’m probably better off just going back to wherever I usually go. He was right about the latter as I will continue to visit grain and grind next door which is a phenomenal coffee shop and boycott Pane E Vino. The man who runs this business should be ashamed; his manner is horrifying and the way he spoke to both staff and myself was awful. It’s worth adding this business is situated in Giffnock which is an affluent area with lots of competition. I will be encouraging people to avoid this business as I’m confused to why it’s still operating.

Waitress never stated they only do scrambled eggs plus only asked for 1 slice of toast and got 3 slices. Scrambled egg was very bland unfortunately. Young waiter was very nice and polite. Cappuccino and latte were nice. However what has really put me off was when I was eating my breakfast a customers dog pooped on the floor (diorreah) she only wiped it with a napkin leaving diorreah skid marks on the floor then walked out with her friend. I don't think dog's should be allowed into the restaurant for this reason. Felt sorry for the waitress having to clean up a customers dogs diorreah. For this reason I personally wouldn't go back unless dogs are kept outside. Last thing I ever want to see when eating breakfast put me right off. I hope the customer of the dog is utterly ashamed of herself too busy on her mobile phone to properly clean up her own dog's mess.

We ordered a penne pomodoro, garlic bread and a tuna salad. We washed them down with a 2015 Barolo chosen from their store collection. Everything was outstanding! I mean really outstanding. The penne was obviously freshly made and fantastic and the salad was not only wonderful but had an interesting and extensive mix of ingredients. The Barolo was very reasonably priced too and the corkage charge was only £7 which is way better than many other such establishments. The food was simply wonderful and the wine a perfect compliment. The shop allows you to have an extensive choice of wines to choose with your meal and experiment rather than be constructed by what is offered in the wine list. The two desserts were to die for. Fantastic profiteroles and a to die for cheesecake, with an outstanding coffee (an americano (a shot of espresso with a separate pot of hot water so you can have the coffee just the way you like it (I love that)) and hot chocolate. The premises have a really nice feel and ambience. Feel as if you are in Italy. The service was impeccable also. We had a nice quiet table and the young lady who served us was attentive but not overbearing. We bought some more wine and delicacies from the shop when leaving. We consumed them the next day at a sunny picnic. If you like dessert wines, the La Bella Estate Moscato passito is a must try!

I met a business colleague at this place for coffee. I was early so sat inside with a coffee. I have to tell you that I was made to feel really uncomfortable by the man who appeared to be the owner. He decided to outwardly and openly tear strips off a female member of staff. His approach to reprimand was brutal and if I was the female member of staff, I would have walked out the door. Nobody should be treated that way in private let alone in full view of customers. He was way out of order. I for one, will never set foot in there again and I hope that staff member finds a new place to work where the owners have a modicum of respect for other human beings.

Waited 20 mins (after them making my coffee) for the woman behind the counter to put a piece of cake into a box, 3 other people who came in after me got served before me (with larger orders) and the attitude from the woman serving was terrible, also made the wrong coffee, asked for 2 cappuccinos and one of them was just a regular coffee, both of which were cold from waiting about for so long. Very arrogant owner who threw her staff under the bus when our order wasn’t passed over, despite the fact she herself confirmed our order of the last portion of lasagne. Offhand, defensive apology made it worse when we asked how much longer we’d need to wait. Bottom line is we waited over an hour to be served, no apology, no offer of free coffee etc. A small offer to compensate would have saved us as future customers but we won’t be back. Arrogant business owners like this do themselves no favours. You need to realise there’s more to it than just the food. Look after your customers!!! Especially when things go wrong

I visited the deli to buy some higher end Italian meat for my carbonara. While I was advised that they were no longer a serving deli counter, I was nonetheless told that I would be helped out. I was referred to an older gentleman behind the counter who seized this as an opportunity to massage his own ego and patronise/belittle me in the process. An interrogation commenced about how I was intending cooking his product and he took great delight in me providing the wrong answers. It was quite an unpleasant experience and no way to treat a paying customer. The other staff I encountered were generally fine and the place has a warm ambiance. As a learning point, I’d advise toning down the arrogance of your deli man, no matter how skilled/knowledgeable he may think he is.

The place is a shambles, so many poor reviews also on Google and I see that the owner only replies to people who have given good reviews. We were sat in eye view of the pay point, around six couples who turned up after us got served before us. That was enough and left very poor and disappointed! I would avoid.

We have given this place at least 5 visits in the space of 2 months.. As an Italian I enjoyed the look and smell of the restaurant however on each visit the service was appalling. We sat outside a few times and we waited and waited for someone to take our order. I went inside to order and was told to go back to my table and someone would take my order. 20 mins later I ordered my breakfast and it was nice. I then enquired about a cake in the display and nobody knew what it was!! A coffee, some eggs and a cake took 90 mins! The remaining visits were very similar with nice coffee, food but terrible and some rude ( usually young) staff. I don’t think I’ll be back.

I visited this afternoon because I fancied some lunch and had often thought of trying out this place. I arrived to be told that it was table service only, so I took a table outside and waited. And waited. Someone came out to clear tables, but no orders taken. After about 25 minutes one of the people 'taking orders' appeared. I attracted his attention and asked if I could order - and was told to 'Wait a minute!' Two minutes later he reappeared and took the order for a couple who had sat down some time after me. I decided to vote with my feet, and left. If you are going to have table service, then make sure there are sufficient people with sufficient organisation to make that happen. I will not be returning and will not recommend. There are plenty of places locally where one can get a lovely lunch and be treated with some kind of consideration.

Dreadful lunch service on a quiet day. We waited 50 minutes for a panini! No explanation or apology for our surly waitress. We were told when we placed our order there would be a 25 minute delay which we accepted but 50 minutes is beyond acceptable for something as simple as a panini! We arrived about 12.30 but as previously mentioned both inside and outside seating areas were quiet so why such a delay? On a positive note, the food, when it eventually arrived, was lovely but that was the only positive on this visit.

Service, service, service.... no matter how many times the poor service I receive, I always go back to Pane Vino only to be disappointed again. Popped in on a whim whilst out a walk at lunchtime. Outside full bar one table, 2 gents sitting inside so not overly busy. Recently refurbished so unsure of ordering etiquette and eventually asked by a girl in the deli part if she could help. Said I wanted to order food to take away to which she replied "order at the other counter and there's a bit of a queue". Turned round to order and was then ignored by 2 young servers who were going between the outside and the coffee machine constantly chatting and making no eye contact. I then decided I might treat myself and sit in as one table left outside. Completely ignor and stood like a spare part so walked out. General attitude over a queue for food and others working there avoiding eye contact is just unacceptable . I went and got food from elsewhere and won't rush back. Next door for coffee for me and friends meet up if anyone suggests a catch up . I clearly don't fit their service criteria.

One of the ladies was on her second glass of wine taking her time when she was approached by a staff member who said are you hogging that glass of wine. Why was this said??? Were they drinking too slow for you....not buying enough. No customer should be treated in this way no matter what they order or how long there taking. You just lost a customer. Was a fantastic lunch we had here during what was clearly a busy time. This place does seem to do a bit of everything. Unique place which was very authentic feeling. Our first visit and a meal with visiting family. We got the only table near the door which was a little cold but before we had the chance to ask the waiter was checking we were all Ok and closed it for us. We had to wait a while for our food but this was fine as our waiter kept checking in and brought us water and lovely Italian bread while we waited (We thought he could be the manager?but weren't sure)was visibly running back and forth amid a somewhat hectic service -and the other staff all were nice and trying their best they were maybe a little undertrained or packing experience for how busy it was. ... it was also a bit pricey while I'm being negative... But no matter what issue (overall it was very tasty- though I did not enjoy the very oily broth I ordered from the specials and was brought a replacement bowl of minestrone which was absolutely delicious. The main of chicken was delicios) all felt very looked after and valued- our coffe our food everything we were asked if we were happy and were accomadated. If he could he went and fixed it personally such as our coffees which was a little on the cool side initially.... It all felt very personal which was lovely and we were able to sit for a while as we finished our free coffees and did not feel we were being rushed out like you do in some olaces &Brother in law picked up some wine and olives that we were recommended on the way out. Yes- we were all given free coffees at the end (a thank you for all customers we were informed) ! Thank you all at Pan E Vino for a lovely time we are still talking about- me and husband will see you again to try more of you lovely Italian delights.. but maybe at a quieter time L

Walking round Rouken Glen Park - we got chatting about Italian food and then we had a notion for some nice bruschetta. We headed along to Pane e Vino in Giffnock which you'd think would be a safe bet to satisfy this craving. What a weird atmosphere this place has. Folk outside sipping wine and enjoying the sun which is a good start indeed. Wow though - quite the contrast when you walk inside to the atmosphere that is just so tense. One elder Italian gentleman on the kitchen side and another older Italian gentleman on the counter side. The staff seem so inexperienced and really look like they don't want to be there. The guy on the counter side was scolding the young staff in front of customers which I cannot stand. I appreciate all staff need to gain experience but perhaps don't put 3 youngsters on shift on a Saturday afternoon. It needed 1 less of the teens and an experienced member of staff to organise things. Granted - I don't know the shift patterns/staff situation but this was my observation. So to the bruschetta we came for. I was slightly taken aback that it was written on the board as £7.50. This is the same price for takeaway as sit in. £7.50 is up there with Sarti's city centre prices and more expensive for bruschetta than most of the best rated Italian restaurants in the city. I eat out every weekend and don't mind paying good money for good food. Ordering and paying for it was a real hassle too. This place lacks direction, customer service skills and seems to be one of those places that used to be good and the term resting on their laurels springs to mind. In the car - I was stunned by how poor the product was when I opened the container. They really didn't treat the Altamura bread with any respect at all - what a let down! A few small slices barely toasted with a heap of finely diced tomato. No evidence of toasting/grilling, lacking in olive oil, seasoning and the basil as advertised on the menu. Where on earth was the garlic that was supposed to be rubbed into the bread? Soggy bread with tomato for £7.50 - nope - I won't be back. I've had some fantastic bruschetta in Glasgow and this was the worst version I've ever had served to me. The place looks lovely but that's not enough I'm afraid. C'mon folks - you can do better.

First visit here. Will not be the last, that’s for sure! We loooove coffee but, believe me, it’s not easy to get a consistently punchy, great-flavoured coffee in Ayrshire. We popped up to Pane e Vino in Giffnock today, predominantly for a good quality pancetta to make carbonara. Again, try and get that in Ayrshire - no chance! Take note folks - quality pancetta from Pane E Vino vs supermarket “lardons” - I’ll leave you to work out what’s best - my carbonara was transformed 😉.. Whilst there we had flat whites, Pelegríno and delicious cannoli. Let’s just say we were happy bunnies! We will pop up monthly, for sure - well worth it. Ayrshire coffee shops.. Take note!

This place has seriously gone downhill in recent years. I think the main problem is the staff, who show absolutely no interest in providing good customer service. Even when it's quiet, you'll invariably see them huddled together behind the counter chatting with each other and you often have to interrupt them to get attention. Service with a smile, it isn't. Shame because Pane e Vino is a lovely little deli with a great selection of cheeses, meat, wine, etc. From speaking to others in the area, the bad service clearly hasn't gone unnoticed...

Lovely wee deli, great selection of fresh and authentic Italian produce. Fantastic selection of wines. The coffee is great as are the selections of hot and cold food in the café.

Authentic food, with a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and polite. I enjoyed an antipasto and a glass of wine outdoors with my dog… it’s always a bonus to find somewhere that is dog friendly! I also tried the cannoli and Sfogliatelle 🤤 both of which were amazing! I’ll definitely be a regular now.

Went here with some friends for some brunch and was thoroughly disappointed. Staff were rude and inexperienced and seemed very stressed and agitated. The wait for food was extremely long and wasn't up to much when it arrived - I don't think £5.50 for a single sausage roll, sorry an "authentic italian pork sausage roll" is great value. This was accompanied by lukewarm coffee that had spilled all over the saucer and filthy glasses for water. Was also really draughty due to having the door open for "covid regulations" which I've seen in no other restaurant. Have no idea why this place has such a high reputation but I think it is probably because it is in Giffnock people automatically assume high quality - I'd give it a miss!

Very disappointing. I get the impression that this place, which always seems busy, feels that it doesn't need to try. It certainly appeared that way when our orders arrived. £5.80 for a pork sausage and roll delivered on a small plate, with no sides or extras is an absolute disgrace. Will not be coming back.

A brilliant place. I've visited a handful of times, but recently only to their deli because of the pandemic. I don't live close, but it's worth the journey. Had to buy a father's day gift - he's a big red wine fan -- and, as someone who knows less than nothing about wine, it was really refreshing to speak to an expert about them who advised a reasonable bottle within budget. All of the staff are super friendly, and if you're a bit like me who loves Italian food but doesn't quite have the know-how, the fellas behind the counter will be more than happy to give you a hand, not only to pick out what you want to eat, but also how to cook it! Really great stuff. This place is always busy, and that just about tells that whole story. Many thanks for everything & see you again soon.

Popped by on Sunday 6th June in the afternoon. Got an outside table and they served us there. Friendly staff and extremely tasty food. We will definitely be back. We had a bottle of white, the bruschetta and 2 platters. Loads of food and amazingly tasty.

I used to love pane vino. Although some who went there thought they were something. Apart from that, a beautiful wee cafe with outdoor seating and nice Italian food. I went recently with family and it felt a bit tense as if the staff were...

Very poor quality coffee for so called Italian connoisseurs. The cake was served on paper plates which for a cafe in Giffnock village isn’t very appealing. Cafe next door (Grain & Grind) is much better option. All very overpriced so will not be back.

Sorry we won’t be back. The girl serving was not pleasant, hair on plate, we asked for an orange juice for my daughter only for be given a fizzy drink, my children do not like fizzy juice rudely was questioned by the girl serving why my child doesn’t drink fizzy juice. It wasn’t what we ordered. This isn’t the first time the service hasn’t been great.

Since moving to the southside we have been desperately searching for a takeout that does a good curry - and we finally found it! The peshwari naan is exceptional & the South Indian garlic chilli curry was the best we have had in a long time! It was also extremely reasonably priced for the area. The staff were also very polite and the kitchen was in clear view and absolutely spotless. We will definitely be your new regulars 😁
