The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

The food was lovely. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff was kind and friendly. La Stella is a highly recommended visit. Thank you for such a lovely time.

We needed a nice meal before a show at Bush Hall and this Italian restaurant was a great choice. It’s not very big so definitely make reservations. Food and service were great!

Had lunch here with three friends on August bank holiday Monday during the Sandwich Festival when the restaurant was fairly busy but not packed. We all ordered pizzas and then waited a very long time noticing that other customers who had arrived later were being served before us. One pizza arrived 25 mins after ordering and we waited another 10 minutes for the other three. All came on disposable plates with flimsy disposable wooden cutlery which proved incapable of sawing through the tough pizza base which had not been pre-cut into segments. After breaking two forks and making no impression on the pizza base with the knife I asked for metal cutlery and was informed that they had none. When I explained the problem and expressed my unhappiness the waiter shrugged his shoulders and wandered off leaving me no option but to tear my pizza into pieces with my bare hands. Thereafter no member of staff paid any attention to us and I had to go to the counter to order desserts and pay the bill. If you insist on eating here I recommend bringing your own cutlery.

I really enjoyed this pizza. I ate on the pavement watching the world go by I’m the characterful Exmouth Market. Service was very nice and they are really dog friendly - dog treats, not just a water bowl! It’s a good spot.

Las recomendaciones para el vino para adaptarse a mi gusto eran perfectas. Los especiales fueron increíbles. Lovely service, amazing authentic northern Italian cuisine. I eat out in London a lot but especially trying to find good local Italian joints. just. utterly. delicious. will be going back again and again!!

My friend and I were visiting Crosby and decided to stop for lunch. Food OK but service awful. Young girl pleasant, can't say the same about the older woman who served our food. No smile, no pleasantries, i wouldn't say she was rude but her attitude wasn't. If you work in hospitality, be hospitable. A smile goes a long way. Won't go back.

There was eleven of us we all ordered different items from the menu and all the food arrived hot and well presented and enjoyable the atmosphere was nice reasonable priced worth going again

Visited with my wife. Hadn’t booked but that wasn’t a problem. Seated straight away by very friendly staff. Pizzas were cooked to perfection and were really tasty. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back again. Only downside is they don’t sell fries, but having said that, the pizza was enough on its own.

Fue amable, a un precio razonable y acogedor para los clientes de todas las edades. Las pizzas eran deliciosas y las cervezas eran sin duda un paso más de las ofertas habituales en los pubs. Not enough staff and food appalling. My sister and I ordered Tuscan soup to start (which I had ordered before and liked) but it was totally inedible as it tasted sour as if it was off and we had to send it back, so just had bread that came with it. My main was spaghetti bolognaise which has very little sauce and had to ask for more. The dessert I had was chocolate cake with mascapone cream. The cake itself was heavy and there was only a teaspoon of mascapone cream served with it so again had to ask for more. So the starter, main and dessert were all disappointing. They also didn't have any mash which was meant to come with my sister's main.

1.after not having breakfast because I was excited to having our special anniversary lunch. So disappointed!!It was an awful veggie meal. Didn’t eat my bruschetta.Slice of bread with beef chopped tomatoes. Main meal worse. A truffle resotto. A few mushrooms and rice over cooked with that test of vegetables oil. Could not eat it awful.

Only had coffee & cake but it was great & the staff very efficient & friendly.

Good coffee, kind staff, and drinks prepared promptly if you’re getting a train. The seating is comfortable and there were a good range of drinks available.
