There was eleven of us we all ordered different items from the menu and all the food arrived hot and well presented and enjoyable the atmosphere was nice reasonable priced worth going again

Visited Friday with my daughters. Food was not great and extremely disappointed the time it took to order and serve . 3 out of 4 people were all sick afterwards all having different dishes . Won’t be returning which is shame it’s on our door step .

Been here before and nothing has changed, lovely food, very friendly, good value for money, excellent service. Don’t be put off by the outside it’s absolutely spotless inside including the toilets. Will be back

Nice little restaurant in Hipperholme, the beer is Menabrea which is a decent Italian lager. The early bird menu is excellent value and difficult to ignore if you want pizza or pasta. I had chicken liver pate starter which was good. The mains were a long time coming afterwards but worth the wait for the pizza which is hand rolled and full of flavour. My partner had a vegetable risotto dish which had no seasoning whatsoever and could easily be mistaken for a packaged rice with some veg mixed in so a little disappointing. We were in no hurry to get away but nonetheless the service was a little unattentive although friendly when it was there so no complaints on the staff in this regard. Would happily visit again but wouldn't rush back immediately.

The food, atmosphere and staff are all excellent.We went as a family this evening and we couldn’t fault it.We had both the meat and fish platters and they were excellent.We ate so much as the menu was great.We finished with some yummy puddings.First time here but not the last.

We’re regular Customers at Mamma Napoli as the food and service are consistently brilliant. There’s always a friendly greeting when you go there. As a group of friends we all like something different and Gianni and his team always strive to provide that. The prawn cocktail is a meal in itself. The pizzas are fab especially the Calzone Kiev. We’ll definitely be returning Customers

Have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions and it has never disappointed us. The staff are super friendly and make you feel so welcome. A group of four of us came on a Saturday night, we had starters and mains and were all full at the end as the portions are a good size. They have a wide selection on the menu, but my boyfriend and I find it difficult to venture too far from our favourites. We will definitely be back again! Thanks for a fab meal as always.

Had a meal here tonight with my family & parents & wow what a fabulous place. The food was excellent, service outstanding & it's really great value for money. I would highly recommend this place

We thought we would try this establishment for a meal for 2. The tables are cramp in, the pizza I ordered was just a pool of grease and my partner spaghetti carbonara had no flavour what’s so ever. After getting the bill and then waiting for 10-15 minutes, I asked for the card machine to pay and I was shouted at and told to pay down stairs. I will never return here and I urge you not to go to this place.

Just had the best pizza ever at mamma Napoli. Eaten with a glass of wine and a salad. Perfect way to start a weekend.

Something tells me this review contradicts many others. There's a nice family feel to Mamma Napoli and the menu was pretty extensive. As it was december there was a set menu for £16 for two courses or £19 for 3 .. Now I'm certainly not saying that's expensive but a pizza/pasta and a desesrt for £16 is surely just standard fare? Certainly not anything to shout about. I ordered mozzarella carrozza and carbonara .. Plenty of really good bread was brought to the table and then my starter which was a good size portion.. Unfortunately the mozzarella came across a bit cheap. Like budget pizza variety. It was just fine. My carbonara came and it was extremely disappointing.. Carbonara should be egg cream, pancetta ideally but bacon isnt going to cause upset and a good amount of parmesan. To my taste this was definitely a plain bechamel/white sauce and soft ham .. Ive had plenty better for less money. My friends meals looked nice enough but nothing made me think i was missing anything special with my poor choice. Deserts were too small and overpriced too. To be fair i enjoyed the tiramisu which was a saving grace. Two set menu three course meals and three glasses of wine came to a pinch under £60. Also table space was a little tight in a half empty (half full?) restaurant. I honestly feel theres too much good local competition to recommend Mamma Napoli as a stand out choice. Service was good yes. It just didnt redeem enough for me. Likely two stars if the better priced set menu wasnt available.

Good quality authentic food and friendly staff. However if you go for the early bird it feels like they want you to buy more alcohol and extras. If you don't they lose interest. Shame really. Thought they appreciated all customers but I get the feeling it's all about the money....

We only live up the road from this restaurant but have sadly overlooked it in favour of the bigger more flashy one across the road, but not again!

Visited with our 4 year old son. The staff were fantastic with him & made him feel very important - he even got a table of his own at one point!! The food was cooked to perfection & service was second to none.

Have been to many restaurants local but this is a first. It looks from outside nothing special but go inside what a place to eat. Excellent food,both waitresses in there brilliant. Great service and good for a laugh. The food,second to none, if they can put up with me and my brother in law good on em they deserve ever last star I give them we will definitely be back

We just found it by accident and the service as well as the food (fish) was amazing. Definitely come back if we find ourselves in this part of Yorkshire again.

This is a great Italian restaurant. We are always made to feel so welcome. The portions are generous and very tasty and served by efficient and friendly staff.

Whilst this restaurant doesn't look anything special from the outside once inside the food is excellent and belies its external image. The welcome from the owner is very friendly. The dining area is on the first floor and is not all that large but is all the better for that as it adds a friendly atmosphere. I had sea-bass which was one of the tastiest I have had. The menu has all the usual range one would expect to see in an Italian restaurant and the dishes going past our table looked delicious

Looking at this restaurant from the outside it would not raise your expectations that high but you would be wrong. The welcome is warm and friendly. We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy. The main dining area is upstairs and not all that big. When we arrived we were quickly shown to our table. The menu has an excellent range of choices. I had sea-bass and it was delicious as were all the other mains that were served to our table.

Visited for date night - lovely meal served by very friendly efficient staff made to feel very welcome- living locally I don't know why we haven't been before but will be visiting again and will probably try there takeaway service soon 😁

Excellent tasting Italian food - atmosphere lacking a little - too noisy and no music - would be nice to have a little background Italian music. Too hot - our request to turn the heating down was met with silly remarks that they wanted the place to be as hot as Italy is! Service a little “oppressive” waiters hovering a little, too conspicuous! Felt like we were rushed to finish out food and leave! Not a bad place but a few tweaks in service would make this a local gem! Train your waiters - or change them!

I visited Mamma Napoli with my wife and son last night. We thought it was fantastic, as we walked in we were greeted with the lovely aroma of Italian food, and a warm welcome from the staff. We were taken straight to our table, and our drinks order taken quickly.

Food here was delicious and served promptly. Staff were friendly and were happy to help with any questions. Only minor downfall is that they state on the menu cordial costs £1.50 but then charged £2.50 for it, which is ridiculous for a small amount of cordial with tap water in it.

We visited here with two children aged 5 and 6, the 3 adults had the early bird menu and the kids had the children's menu. It was a lovely rustic atmosphere, the service was good, and food was faultless. Good value for money. Will be back!

For our recent wedding anniversary I thought we would try the Amarone with our Pizza. It was the best wine I have ever tasted and at £43 you will find it hard to beat. The starter of seafood salad was gorgeous and the Calzone was to die for. service was attentive and friendly as usual. Its not the poshest place you will ever visit but it is consistently good.

1st visit and definitely will be returning,food was just out of this world!!!...Also the house wine great value for money..The staff very welcoming and friendly...Been to other Italian restaurants in Halifax..Mamma Napoli is the best by far..Seems like we've been missing out and wasting our money elsewhere..quality of food & service is the best!!!

10 of us went for a Saturday night out. We were given the downstairs area to ourselves which was great. The service from all the staff was wonderful. The draft Italian lager was very quofable as was the house eine. The prices for food and drink were all reasonable. We all ordered a variety of starters and mains and everyone enjoyed everything we were served! We will definitely arrange another night here soon.

Not blessed with an idyllic location, being at the junction of major roads at Hipperholme crossroads, but the happy, chatty staff and solid Italian cooking make Mamma Napoli an attractive attraction for locals and travellers alike. Pizzas are thin-based, which my other half loves, the pasta dishes are unpretentious but heartily sized and satisfying. House wine is good value too.

Dined at mama Napolis last sat night for my grandson and granddaughters birthday what truly delightful experience the food and service were first class made so welcome from the outset.this was our first visit but it will certainly not be the last I highly recommend this restaurant ps the Italian lager is gorgeous

Met a friend here for a catch up. Very friendly attentive staff & authentic Italian family run business. We had lovely fresh pasta and risotto dishes- both of us really enjoyed our meals and good value too. Would really recommend this place- easy to pass it by on the busy crossroads but well worth visiting and you can park at the car park over the road next to Tesco for free. Food hygiene rating of 5 too! :)

A friendly family run Italian restaurant on the outskirts of Halifax saw our family celebrate on Saturday evening. The family age range 11 to 69 found something we all liked from posh pasta to pizza and at an acceptable price. Top tip, order by 7.00pm for their discounted house menu which was delicious. The pizza's were so large but they even provided a takeaway carton for the remaining portion!

Delicious,authentic Italian food- just what we've been looking for!Service was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.This was the first time we've visited, but we'll be regulars from now on!

Friendly and kind service, including setting up a table downstairs which helped my father in law as he can struggle with walking. I had the pate with toast which was fantastic in flavour with right amount of toast. Then had the fabulous lobster ravioli. Beautiful thin pasta full of filling. Families had lovely food. Overall price was excellent

Mamma Napoli is a sweet little Italian restaurant serving excellent pizzas. I'm sure the rest of the menu is equally good but I have yet to try anything but pizza. Staff are utterly charming and cannot be more helpful. Although a small restaurant, we found it quite chilly. We were moved upstairs next to a radiator but it was still not really warm enough. I'll definitely return when in the area as it's very good quality and value. Staff could not be nicer.

This place never fails! Whenever i ask my 5 year old where he wants to eat he always chooses here. The food is beautiful and the staff are brilliant. We usually go early and have the early bird which is great value. It's a selection of starters then any pasta or pizza from the main menu. The kids menu is also great value. My son loves the penne pasta followed by ice cream. Its a lovely family run restaurant and i continue to go again and again. Anyone who has never been needs to give it a try. : )

We had a fabulous night at Mama Napoli for my partners birthday. It was a large booking of 13 adults plus children and a baby. It isn't a huge venue but we didn't feel cramped in. The staff were very attentive, especially towards the children. The food was delicious and the atmosphere great. People in our party were very impressed and said they would be returning. It's worth noting they do an early bird deal Tuesday Wednesday Thursday from 5pm to 7pm which is great value and is just as good .

Visited here on a Friday evening with a group of friends. The staff were attentive, and really friendly. I had the king prawn pasta dish which was really nice. Good quality food, everyone enjoyed their dishes. This was my second visit and I'm sure I'll be back.

It was our sons birthday which also coincided with our daughter and son in laws first wedding anniversary, so we decided to go to Mamma Napoli's.From the moment the six of us walked through the door until we left, we were treated with fantastic service. They even provided our son with a birthday cake & the birthday song, and they gave our daughter a large cocktail on the house to celebrate their anniversary. The food was so good that we all were very satisfied with what we had chosen.I get the feeling that anything from the menu would be stunning, it's that sort of place, we will definitely be back.

Just a quick review to let you all know that Mama Napoli are still the bees' knees.We went at short notice on Saturday evening and had (yet again) 4 lovely meals with great service and lots of laughs with the brilliant staff. Really don't know where they get the energy from!Will certainly keep going.

It was nice to return to Mamma Napoli with a couple of friends. We came for a catch up dinner and arrived in time to have the early dinner menu which is very good value. Pleasant greeting and seated quickly downstairs with a menu and a drink and time to make our choices, and were then transferred upstairs to a table. Service was as good as I remember, and when our food arrived we each agreed that was good too. This is a good family restaurant and deserves its popularity, it is clear that many customers return and many become regulars - not possible for my friends from Cheltenham but I am sure we will return! Good experience and will certainly recommend.

Driven past this restaurant many times and finally got the chance to eat here this weekend. The staff were very welcoming and managed to fit us in last minute (didn't book prior to calling in) even though they were busy. Bread was brought to our table free of charge even though we didn't wait long for our meals. The service was quick and food was lovely I ordered pasta in cream sauce with bacon my husband had pizza. Both meals were very nice, hot and large portions. The staff were very attentive and polite throughout our meal. Would definitely return.

After spending a couple of weeks with the Yorkshire cousins we headed here for a last meal together.Food was excellent and the service was even better! Our waitress from Sardinia kept us entertained while making sure our drinks were kept full and our good served promptly.All meals were served together and we all commented on how nice the food was.It was a great way to farewell my cousins until next time.

We were a little bit after 7pm but staff still let us order off Early Bird menu which we really appreciated. Fantastic, genuine Italian food with very generous portions. We have been a few times now as we live local and always get fantastic service and fantastic food.

The food was delicious and the service from the staff was excellent. I ordered a mushroom pizza which was piping hot and very filling. I then ordered the tiramasu which was also very light and delicious. I ordered a latte to finish which was also delicious. My sister ordered the fishcakes with a chilli dip followed by the pork medallions in a rich tomato sauce. The only thing which is a slight disappointment is the lack of room.

Visited one Friday evening as we have driven past on numerous occasions and looked like a nice little Italian. On arrival staff were friendly and we were asked to take a seat in the reception area, we were offered drinks and were given menu's, our order was taken around 10 minutes later. We were taken upstairs to be seated and it was really disappointing, it was like a cafe you might pop into on your dinner break rather than a restaurant for an evening meal, the table was tiny, the chairs uncomfortable, the lighting was way too bright and we were sat right next to the kitchen. The food was good but nothing special, I had rack of lamb which was really nice but came just came with a few boiled potatoes, cauliflower and a few carrots which really let it down. All in all it's probably OK if you live local and can't be bothered cooking one night but if you looking for a nice evening out at a restaurant, maybe for an anniversary or birthday then I cannot recommend. They need to dim the lighting, add a candle to each table and make it feel more like the cosy little Italian it looks like from the outside and it could be a really nice place.

This is a great place. I have been eating here for a few years during my frequent visits to Halifax and have NEVER had anything other than a great meal and a happy time. The staff are gems who are constantly smiling and if you engage with them their lovely sense of humour comes into play. The food is genuine without being too complicated but there is loads of choice and in fact they even once let me invent a 'Pizza Calzone Keith' with my own list of ingredients in it....cool or what?Everyone usually parks in the Coop car park above, or in side streets nearby as it is on the corner of a busy road junction so parking not a problem.Prices are low to medium (Early Bird £11.95 2 course ) so a family of 4 can dine here for a lot less than may town centre restaurants. You must give it a try.

we visited on the 30th of January for a birthday meal and to be honest it wasn't what we expected if anything it felt a little crowded with all the tables it could do with less tables to give a bit more room and the food wasn't what we expected either sorry

Food wasn't great ! ordered Chicken Kiev and when I cut into it the whole plate was swimming in garlic butter and grease. ( see photo ) on a plus side the staff were very friendly!!

We visited on NYE this year and had a great time. The food and atmosphere were fantastic!I choose, King prawn and calamari for starter, fillet steak with mushrooms, tomato and red wine sauce and creme brûlée for dessert followed by a hot chocolate (as I don't drink Coffee) My husband also had the Fillet steak, goats cheese for starter and sticky toffee pudding for dessert followed by coffee this was followed by a glass of prosecco each at midnight which they kept topping up.The evening started between 8-8-30pm when we arrived at the table we all had a little box with party poppers, party hats, bubbles and great squeaky flying re-usable balloons which were great fun. It started off quite mild but as people had more to drink the atmosphere livened up with the flying balloons been let off all night at each table, everyone joined in and it was like a big family party, we were also treated to a lovely firework display at midnight which everyone went out to watch. The whole bill for the night for 2 of us only came to £115 including drinks all night (my husband had Saltaire Blonde and I had prosecco all night. We would visit again on NYE as it was just lovely Well done Mamma Napoli for the great effort you put in to make everyones NYE special.

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my family on a Saturday evening. The welcome was enthusiastic and we were given menu's to look at while our drinks arrived. We were taken upstairs to our table shortly afterwards and shown to our table. Its a truly authentic Italian restaurant. The staff were so welcoming and such fun and the food was excellent. I enjoyed lobster ravioli while other members of my family ate pizza, cannelloni and a seafood pasta. Nobody had any complaints and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We even got chance to practice the little Italian language that we know and we will definitely visit again.

Always come out full. Has a relatively small dining area which can become crowded. Need to book. Their Early Bird is also very popular. Very popular with the locals. Will be returning.

First time visit. I go to Italy monthly and eat in a lot of different places in the Milan and Lake Como area. Eating here just reminded me south of the quality of food and hospitality of Italy. Fantastic!Thank you to all the staff for such an enjoyable meal. We will be back :)

We have visited Mamma Napoli In the past.However last night the service was below standard due to having booked a table and arriving on time, after being asked to sit down in the bar area nobody came to collect our drinks order and then a party of 7 people walked in through the door and were served with drinks immediately. We left after 10 minutes as we had still not been asked for our drinks order.Will not be returning!

It is more special when at an Italian restaurant,the staff are Italian, more authentic. This is to be found at the M.Napoli. The atmosphere at Mamma Napoli is typical of the Italian eating places, welcoming,bustling and uplifting. Will certainly go back there.

This tiny spot is a locals local serving honest mainly Italian style fayre but then it would as it is operated by a Italian team and a lovey one at that.Its great value for money and grand early bird venue.

This was our second visit having been here last year.The food was as good as we remembered it.The friendly welcome made us feel at home immediately.As it was only early we opted for the early-bird menu which was fantastic value.The portions were the same as the a la carte and the quality was brilliant.We will certainly return on our next visit to the area.Well worth the effort!!

First visit yesterday to a place that I pass on my way to work every day. The quality of the food is wonderful and the service is excellent. Ok, the location and decor may not be prime, to us that gave it a more authentic feel. Much prefer this to the faceless restaurants you often see. Would recommend to anyone.

Went with 8 people always a authentic Italian I had for starters spicy spare ribs which were good and for main I had sea food linguini had plenty of squid salmon and other fish which was brill .The wife had deep fried mozzarella which was lovely for mains penne davioli which was lovely and spicy all in all a great meal

We have been for the early bird meal at Mama Napoli's before and the food and service have always been excellent. This time was no different. It is the best Italian restaurant in the Halifax area. The food is delicious and the early bird provides great value for money. They do not reduce the size of the portions they serve on this offer (like other restaurants I have tried). Overall a five star experience

Always go back to the comfort of the familiar, when down. We paid a visit on a busy Saturday evening, service faultless , food delicious, maybe need to change menu now after all these years, but it always delivers

We love this perfect little restaurant for informal family meals and cosy, romantic dinners too, it really is the most hospitable restaurant you could ever visit. The menu has plenty to suit every taste, garlic bread with tomato is divine, and the steaks are delicious. I'm not usually a big fan of pasta when dining out (it's easy enough to make at home, right?) but the dishes here are too gorgeous to miss! The wine list has some super wines, try the Malbec, it's perfection in a glass! For a reasonably priced, quality meal, you won't go wrong with a visit here.

Absolutely love it here!! The staff are so friendly, the early bird is fantastic value, same size portions as though you have booked off the normal menu!! (this doesn't happen everywhere!)They are so accommodating too if you want something changing from the description on the menu. Excellent!!! We also ring to pick up food to take out great service!!! You have to collect yourself, but knowing its as good as it is then its not a problem.

My partner and I ate here on Tuesday night,we arrived at 7.30pm and was suprised how busy it was.the staff were very pleasant,the food was lovely and very flavoursome.decour was tired and needed sprucing up.But at the end of thee day I would prefer great food any day over posh surroundings.The next time we visit we shall make sure to arrive pre 7pm.Thank you for a lovely night.

Though if you do go for the early bird it includes ANY pizza or pasta, rather than a limited selection, as well as other selected items. Bargain! The atmosphere is brilliant, and it is always busy. Went for tea with a group of friends. Atmosphere was good &, food excellent. I had deep fried brie followed by the salmon from the early bird menu. It was beautiful. Couldn't fault anything.

Great night out at Mama's again.Lots of people in which made a great atmosphere. Food was gorgeous. Can't wait to go again................ Early bird is great- hearty portions still.

We booked our table and were seated immediately. Extensive menu plus a specials board. All the food was delicious, although I member of our party advised her duck was cold in the middle. Veg was accompanied with the main courses which is unusual as many restaurants it is a seperate charge. Lovely home made Creme Brûlée! The staff are a fabulous assert to this restaurant! We will be returning.

The biggest asset of the restaurant is the staff from ringing up to book a table, the welcome when we walked in the door to the waiters and especially Josie a lovely lady who never stopped smiling. The lobster ravioli was delicious and we will go back. Not recommended if you want a quiet, candlelit dinner but if you want to experience the real taste of Italy give it a try.

if your after top class bulls..t overpriced restaurant,where the place you eat in is more important than the food then look elsewhere.if your after a place where the staff.remember you are freindly,the food is fantastic,the wine and coffee brilliant than come here.My wife and I have eaten here at least.10 times,never had a bad meal,the food.is brilliant,the homley atmosphere fantastic,this is like going to a mates for a meal,however the food is brilliant and the atmosphere superb,doesn't look much to look at but its brilliant,well recommended,its as near as italy as ive been to in the uk,best in the Halifax area

I've reviewed Mamma Napoli before but visited again last week, after a hard day. We hadn't booked but we were greeted warmly, as always.Prompt service, superb food. The fillet steaks are wonderful. Lovely staff.Still our favourite Italian by a long, long way.Thoroughly recommended.
