Pollino in Calderdale

The restaurant has changed since the last time I came for my parents wedding anniversary five years ago and before COVID. The foods and desserts are excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly and not too busy.

Great meal for our family gathering. There were 17 of us plus 2 babies and staff were very patient and managed to serve us all, despite us moving around and chatting! Food was lovely and we were placed in a space in the restaurant that allowed us space for the prams and felt like a sei private space for us. Thank you!

We came for Christmas dinner (24). We decided to return for a meal and were not disappointed, the food as before was impeccable. The staff were funny and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Called in again for tea before the theatre. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Good selection of drinks behind the bar. Extensive menu. Food was excellent, well cooked and decent portions. Great choice of alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks. Panna Cotta was to die for.

The best panna cotta I’ve had in ten years! The starter and main were great as well but I’m a sucker for a good dessert!🤌

Early Saturday evening and the place was already buzzing when we arrived at 5.15pm. We were quickly supplied with menus and drinks ordered. We chose from the regular and specials menu and the food was so delicious. The staff were nice and all working well to handle the constant stream of diners arriving. Wish we lived closer, but if you live in Halifax and don't know it - you should definitely book a table and enjoy the atmosphere, the food and great service.

Went on new years eve, even though it was really busy the service was still fantastic and the food was great. 2nd NYE there now and we’ll be back for next year! Probably some inbetween. One of the best italians in Halifax.

Took two of my kids and they loved the pizza and breaded chicken breast. The staff were all lovely and it's a great atmosphere. Can't wait to go again.

Excellent affordable lunch, and a nice table with splendid views. Minor problem with one dish, which was a tad too salty for my taste. Bit otherwise a great experience and I shall return.

Just had to share how amazing Polinos in Halifax is! We've been there a few times now, and it's totally become our go-to spot when we want to make something special. The food is just incredible—like, the pizza and pasta are next-level delicious. But let's talk cocktails for a sec. They're fantastic and honestly worth the trip alone. You've got to try the Mai Tai cocktail—it's absolutely stellar! The service is fantastic and personal, making you feel genuinely valued every time you visit. The staff really go above and beyond to make your dining experience special. If you're a steak lover, you're in for a treat. The steaks are cooked perfectly every single time. We even tried the large tomahawk sharing steak, and it was phenomenal—melt-in-your-mouth goodness! And for the size of that thing, it's actually reasonably priced. Oh, and the views! You get this beautiful landscape of the Calder Valley while you dine. It's seriously the perfect backdrop. Honestly, Polinos is well worth a visit. It blows any other Italian spot in town out of the water. Highly recommend!

We were a party of six. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, which believe me is a very rare occurrence. The staff were lovely, attentive, but not 'in your face'. We will definitely visit again.

What a wonderful experience we had today. 26 of us seated in the conservatory for my Mums 80th birthday celebration. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing. Special shout out to the waiter who went above and beyond to help make it such a lovely afternoon. Highly recommended.

Saturday afternoon... Brighouse, I had never been to this place before, it's a very popular place, and with it being a surprisingly warm afternoon, the place was really busy, a nice looking building, very interesting indoors, the service was very good, the staff welcoming despite the fact that they were obviously busy... The menu looked great, I didn't eat there, but promised myself i will the next time I go there...

Phenomenal restaurant. Had the veal, mum had salmon. The food was excellent. Staff were super attentive and polite and not scared to have a chat. I was served by Elise and Leon, who made our night. Highly recommended. I'll be sure to bring the wife next time.

Beautiful restaurant with what looked to be stunning views little bit dark out to make the most of it. Food was lovely and staff were friendly and welcoming too & were good at recommending from the menu, lots to choose from and seemed to be something for everyone. The carrot cake was Devine!!

I came today for the first time for my 22nd birthday meal and I would fully recommend dining here. The menu has such a variety and I tried the pizza and it was so fresh and light and delicious. We had a waiter called Alphonso and he was absolutely fantastic. Checked up on us frequesntly, was prompt in getting us drinks and food out. Was very funny, chatty and good service all round. Thanks guys for the great experience.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, the atmosphere was amazing, the food was authentic and delicious. The service was top-notch, the coffee was hot and delicious. Will definitely be going back, even if I have to pay for myself.

We've been to Pollino a couple of times. The food has been fantastic both times.

Went thier with my wife and two of my cousins. My first cousin is a woman who has issues with certain foods including all allium s which posed a significant issue.The restraint did it's best to be honest but unfortunately my cousin left disappointed. The rest of us really enjoyed our meal which was very good the service was good. We left a £5:00 tip

Nice enough food. Friendly staff but waiters not particularly trained/experienced (nobody seemed capable of carrying more than 2 plates of food, and each time the table was cleared the staff just stacked the plates vertically on the table then carried them off). Obviously not the end of the world but it's not hard and at the prices charged it's fair to expect basic waiting skills. The tuna was nicely cooked but quite a small steak sliced up and spread across the plate to look bigger. Also, avoid sitting in a high traffic area - the flexing laminate floor made every passing member of staff feel like a bus going past. Strange decor choices in places do not create a premium feel to match the price - are those shower panels on the ceiling and some of the walls?!

We are regulars at Pollino. For no other reason than the food, service and attention to detail is always first class.

I was given a table with no previous booking as I was unexpectedly in the area for the evening and was served with efficiency and courtesy with a beautifully cooked seafood risotto.

Food was good. Cocktails amazing and service was great. Brooke was behind the bar and listened to specific adjustments to cocktails so they were perfect for each of us. Definitely recommend the cocktails (and obviously the food!)

Attended here last week a large group of friends. Had a drink upstairs first, lovely bar with fantastic views. Then downstairs for a meal. Great service and lovely food.

They forgot our order and we were sat for ages waiting at least 1 hour waiting fir our food. One if the waiters suddenly noticed and quickly put the order into kitchen. We saw them realise and they came to offer free drink but we were so fed up by then so didn't really enjoy it by the time it came abd we had gone past our hunger. Food was good but such disappointing service

Pollino my new Italian favorite 🤩 - Halifax I loved the experience from start to finish. Excellent customer service, it is very clear that staff are well trained and very friendly. Food and taste was just spot on. Prices are a little higher than a usual Italian. But is it worth it? Without a shed of a doubt!!! Free car park, easy to find, clean inside and out and very delicious food. 🥘 The million dollar question; would I intentionally go back for another meal?????? 100% yesssss. Thank you Pollino team. The Mothering Sunday menu was sparse so the six of us decided to order from the main menu instead. The food was quality despite being a little overpriced. Service was good and we never felt rushed to be in/,out of the restaurant. Lots of other families having drinks and food, which contributed to a warm atmosphere
