Ricci's Place in Calderdale

Dinner with friends. Absolutely delicious food. Best seafood linguine I had in a very long time. Tempura of king praws and mushrooms were also really nice.

Excellent restaurant in centre of Halifax. Good food, friendly staff. I had the steak burger which was well cooked and tasty! Partner had belly pork and fillet steak, both of which I am told were well cooked and very tasty.

Service was excellent, swift, professional. Run like clockwork. Was recommended by a friend to attend, and couldn’t find any fault whatever in the food (not that I was looking for fault). Food absolutely pipping hot, value for money. Would 100% go again

We love Ricci’s Place. Every opportunity we can we visit when passing through. Top service from the servers and manager and amazing food. Big portions, top quality. Went back for breakfast the next day. Helpful with my lacto intolerance. Next visit pencilled in for February next year

Visited here on Wednesday night, unbeknown to us colleagues had booked for us to visit again the very next day. Cannot say I was disappointed. Delicious food, very generous portions, friendly and attentive service and fantastic drinks menu. Couldn’t find fault with it, it was a great, value for money experience. Would go back in a heartbeat. The duck gnocchi was superb!

My partner and I visited Ricci’s place for breakfast and ordered the ox cheek Benedictine and the French toast. Both very different dishes so I’ll comment on them individually. Ox cheek Benedictine: Very generous portion size. The ox cheek was tender, rich in flavour and there was plenty of it to enjoy. Eggs cooked perfectly, nice runny yolk. The other components of the meal (crumpets and sauce) also done very well. Overall a great dish and value for money. French toast: Unfortunately this dish didn’t quite hit the mark for me personally. The toast itself was slightly burnt. The berry compote was smothered over all of the bread, rather than placed on the side for me to dip as much or little as I liked. Also they put a dollop of orange flavoured Greek yogurt on top, rather than on the side. Therefore, the overarching flavour of the dish was very tangy/tart, and the syrup flavour was somewhat lost for me, which is a shame as I love a good sweet French toast. (Obviously this is just my personal preference). Restaurant: Staff were attentive, polite and helpful. Food was served promptly. The drinks were excellent (coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice). Good atmosphere. Only negative thing to add is there was a loud, constant humming noise, possibly an extractor fan? But it was a little annoying. Overall a decent visit and we will return to try other dishes.

My friend and I called in for a very late lunch. The food and service were excellent. I had the chicken caesar salad, lovely fresh salad, anchovies, eggs, croutons and 2 char grilled chicken breaststroke. I ordered the chips with aoli. All of it was delicious. Even in the middle of the afternoon there was a steady flow of customers. We will definitely be back.

I'm not surprised you have to book a table here - great place - great food - great service. What else can you say. Will definitely eat here again when in Halifax.

We visited with a last minute booking on a Saturday evening. We haven’t visited in a VERY long time! We ordered a starter each (both specials) which were delicious - and large!! The Arancini special was delicious! Our mains - meatballs and crab linguine - were also very big portions which we could not finish. Both were lovely. The linguine was a little oily (I just avoided the bottom half as the portion was so big) but otherwise both were enjoyed. Prosecco was perfectly chilled with lovely, cold glasses. This was really appreciated!!! Cutlery was replaced after starters without having to be asked and staff noticed when drinks were empty (or almost) to replace in time. There was no rush to leave either which was a nice change. The hostess was brilliant. Not too over the top but seemed to care and down to earth. We popped downstairs after for a few cocktails which ended our evening perfectly. A great experience and we will return.

I love the service, the food and the cocktails. Always my go too place. Portions are big and there is always something new to try.

Lovely "house" full English breakfast. Everything top quality, and done to perfection. Staff really friendly, venue really nice with lots of character. Could have sat there drinking coffee all day, to be honest! If you're here for breakfast by the way, the options are more comprehensive than the menu on the wall outside the front door lists - eggs benny etc. are available on a seperate "breakfast specials" menu inside. Will definitely be returning on my next visit to Halifax!

Staff squeezed us in on a one hour slot pre a gig at the Piece Hall. So accommodating and friendly. Even got hugs from the manager for getting away asap. Great food and fabulous hospitality. Next visit to Halifax I’ll make sure we make time to enjoy the place properly.

Had breakfast here twice solo and dinner with my husband on a recent business trip. Breakfast costs about the same as the premier inn but is a world away with burrata scrambled truffled eggs on sourdough, lovely staff and swift service. Dinner great as well crispy belly pork and ravioli of sea bass with lobster and crab. I am covid cautious and with 7 sash windows and the front door open air quality was as good as eating outside at about 450 co2. Portions are generous having eaten breakfast I wasn’t even remotely peckish until 2 pm
