All' Angelo Italian Restaurant in Mendip

1.after not having breakfast because I was excited to having our special anniversary lunch. So disappointed!!It was an awful veggie meal. Didn’t eat my bruschetta.Slice of bread with beef chopped tomatoes. Main meal worse. A truffle resotto. A few mushrooms and rice over cooked with that test of vegetables oil. Could not eat it awful.

On Thursday 1st February I booked a table online for four at this Italian restaurant which we had used before. We got confirmation of the booking and reminders of the booking. We got there at 7.30 to find out the business had closed down on the Tuesday before. Nice of them to close the business but not the booking system. 😡

This restaurant has closed yet we booked online and received a confirmation email mail. Very frustrated that the website is still up and running as well as table bookings

Cramped seating . average food .high prices but pleasant hard working staff. Eaten Italian many times in many places and this is not on the return list.

Absolutely amazing 3 course meal. Went for a New Years Eve date night. Lovely romantic atmosphere, first class service and the food..just wow..Loads of choice, fresh seafood, everything made from scratch with a beautiful combination of flavours. What a talented chef! Best local restaurant by far. We will certainly be returning

This beautiful Italian restaurant is nestled in our little town always goes over and above on service, presentation and variety on their seasonal menu. Nothing is ever too much trouble and their professionalism shines through. Last night we celebrated my poppa’s 80th birthday and wow what a night of memories, friendship & culinary delights. Well Team All’Angello & to Tyler and Agnes for making the night run smoothly. 🇮🇹

Another excellent meal at this gem of a restaurant. Food is fabulous. Staff are very friendly and efficient and go above and beyond to make your visit enjoyable. Aggie was our waitress last night and was very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited this restaurant when it first opened & the service was very poor & slow. Wishing to visit a more local restaurant we thought we would give it another try. However, it proved to be that the service was just as poor as ever. It took the waitress 10 minutes just to give us a menu, 20 minutes to be given the most expensive over cooked (basically burnt) garlic bread. We then waited for ages for our main. We were seated upstairs & the staff were all downstairs. Nobody even asked if we would like another drink. Eventually, what we assume was the head waitress came upstairs & could clearly see we weren’t happy. We asked when we would be getting our meal as we had ordered it about an hour ago. 10 minutes later the waitress brought the food at which point she was very aggressive & rude. She proceeded to give us a time table of when we had ordered etc. At which point , we said how poor the garlic bread & we were hungry she asked if we had said anything. This was impossible as all the staff were downstairs & nobody asked us at any point during the meal if the food was ok. The head waitress’s condescending excuse for not giving us a menu was that they are an al acarte restaurant. The waitress clearly doesn’t know that that means you order off the menu like do at every other restaurant. What she meant was that we are trying to be posh.The duck was overcooked & the skin on the duck & pork belly was not crisp but like rubber. The waiter who took our plates then aggressively questioned whether we enjoyed the food & said speak now or forever hold your piece. The food was overpriced & clearly did not deliver for being more expensive than other restaurants & we have never experienced such rude staff, especially the head waitress.

On the whole, a disappointing evening. We started with bruschetta which was made from a slice of white tin loaf and all the ingredients mixed together to form a rather tasteless mix. I ordered Hake for my next coarse which was a small piece and not very fresh. For £23.95 fish has to be fresh. My husband ordered a pear and custard tart which he sent back. Our meal was not cheap and it was not good eating.

Wish we’d not bothered, out for birthday meal and what a total waste of time and money - tried to charge for tap water it was freezing in there bruschetta was worst I’d ever eaten. Service ok - lacks atmosphere. Will not return or recommend.

I have visited this restaurant several times now and it does not disappoint. Each time I have been the menu has been different as they change with the seasons and each time the food has been out of this world! The cocktails are amazing too! The staff are extremely attentive, very welcoming and friendly they really go the extra mile. I recommend All Angelos to all my family and friends and will continue to visit whenever I can.

This is our favourite restaurant to visit for special occasions. Once again it didn’t disappoint, in fact I think the food gets better everytime we visit. A big well done to the chef Jake. The ambience in the restaurant is lovely. The waiting staff are polite and knowledgeable. All the food came out piping hot and was very delicious. One point - the downstairs floor is very slippery for women with high heeled shoes. Be careful, an accident waiting to happen.

This restaurant is a real gem. There were 4 of us for lunch to celebrate 2 birthdays and had the set lunch menu and a glass of champagne. The food was gorgeous, well priced and there was good variety to choose from. The waiter was absolutely lovely. Thank you for a lovely lunch - we will be back

Absolute waste of money!!! AVOID!!!No idea how this place has been reviewed positively .From when you enter the premises it has zero ambience, it is too hot, it is trying to be something it certainly is not from the chap with woolly gloves on serving the mains as if it were fine dining to the decor which looks like a grandparents front room. The Tris di Bruschette was dry, under toasted and very much a let down. The portion size was however satisfactory be it the preparation was lacking .The main course of Beef Blade was tasty but the vegetables were diced and looking like they were from a packet....would be better served with seasonal vegetables.....Overall a very very very very disappointing experience and one I will not repeat and shall inform all and everyone I know to avoid. Poor quality poorly executed........Try Valentinos in Worcester for your italian experience....not a rip off and great quality and ambience ;somewhere we will go to again and again.....DO NOT EAT HERE! (The only good thing about the place was a lovely waitress!)

Awful...from when you walk in to the poor decor,too hot,to the poor execution of the food...the bruschetta was dry and under toasted,the beef blade main was as if frozen veg was served - overpriced wine over £13 per glass.....AVOID.....Waiter wearing blue woolly gloves was a step too far....trying to be something it certainly is not.Best thing about it was the lovely jolly waitress!!!

Beats the hell out of cooking the night before we went on holiday! Super friendly with great service. They have cut the menu down but it still has an excellent selection. Wonderful pasta. We will be back soon

Having been recommended to this restaurant we were looking forward to it.. sadly not as expected. Lengthy wait despite an early table booking, food arrived, pasta on a cold plate was not an ideal start. Tried the duck tagliatelle, which lacked taste.. requested a side salad but no salad at all available, not even a little rocket & Parmesan.. opted for a garlic bread which arrived as a hard, cold pizza base & at £8.50 not enjoyable at all. My husband had a steak, which was cooked as he liked, though vegetables were vastly overcooked and his sauce ( an extra) was forgotten until prompted. A side order of chips at a pricey £5.50 were not great & had substantial amount of scratchings… Service was good, staff attentive and pleasant Decor was not my taste and the room scent , an oud, is far too overwhelming for a small space.. it actually gave me a headche! Sadly not for us….

We have had two visits recently and both were fabulous. Food is genuinely the best Italian we have had outside of Rome. Service and attention to detail excellent...first visit in the evening with our four children was incredible - they loved the food and we popped back for lunch as a couple and the lunch menu is superb... We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary having seen the restaurant when driving through Droitwich. It is beautiful! Quaint building that is 100's of years old and steeped in history. Food was utterly amazing from the starter, to the gf pasta we shared, main course was something else and as for the wine... thoroughly recommend a bottle of 'Tank' if your partial to a glass of red. Tyler served us in the main and is an asset to your team and the same has to be said for the waitresses that helped serve too. Very friendly, polite and sincere when talking to us. Excellent from start to finish.. we'll definitely be back :)

We decided for our wedding anniversary to come to this restaurant for a special italian meal and visited without booking. It's not a problem for our waiter, Tyler, who sat us upstairs in a wonderfully decorated area. The food here is fantastic, we started with nibbles to share garlic bread with caramelised onion and pesto, this followed by starters of garlic mushrooms and vegetarian aracini with pasta mains of lasagne and rigatoni carbonara. All dishes cooked to perfection. Highly recommended restaurant for an authentic Italian taste. Tyler the waiter was fantastic with great conversation skills for the diner, which makes the meal all the more special.

Lovely little restaurant with a great selection of dishes on the menu. The food was amazing, every dish was spot on not a single fault with anything. The portions of pasta and seafood were very generous. Overall brilliant quality food and attentive service.

We had a meal on the evening of the 1st Sept 2023 and the food was outstanding as always 5* …….but We have been going to All Angelos many time before since it opened it is a real treat for us, more often for a special occasion (Birthday / Anniversary / Xmas/ Daughter home from Uni) and every time we are made to feel really special by staff. I booked a table for my wife’s Birthday on 1st Sept 2023 and I am keen when booking to know where we sit as we really like anywhere upstairs and it was confirmed table 15 upstairs . On telling the super helpful lady on the phone during booking it was my wife’s birthday she made a note and said to also tell staff on the evening and they would doing something special for desert. So all good. We arrive at restaurant at expected time and on speaking to younger gentleman staff member downstairs at arrival area (assume junior manager) he seated us downstairs, I mentioned table 15 and going upstairs but said he had a party of 17 coming in (fair enough we sat downstairs no big shakes) I did mention it was my wife’s Birthday at point of being seated with no response so we ordered bottle of wine and proceeded to look at the current seasonal menu. We knew unlikely but we were always encouraged by previous staff to ask if a item was not on the menu as my wife liked a certain dish from previous menu and again knew it was unlikely on that evening but we asked anyway, the junior manager was quite negative about the chances of this meal being available when we made the polite but gentle enquiry and did not even offer to ask the kitchen basically just said no (party of 17 upstairs🫣) we ordered our food and again no issue it was delicious. I asked for my carbonara dish to be spiced up a tiny amount (they have done it before in kitchen) but again a very small special request was met with issues and he would leave chilli oil on table. (I was reminded again about table of 17 upstairs) told him to ask Kitchen as it was a simple request and after coming back to table for further clarification it was done. The only feedback I could offer the junior manager who I am sure is very good at his job from a practical perspective is that confidence / over confidence can come across to a customer as not caring so much, please listen to the customer as it was a special Birthday night for us, go and ask the kitchen (even pretend to and come back) but did not leave feeling as good as normal due to the customer service we received and we actually felt quite deflated when we left We did not stay for desert. No plans to rush back as felt a bit unhappy more for my wife but happy to say the rest Birthday weekend with Saltfest and family celebrations went well into the weekend. (I hardly ever leave a feedback but to be clear this is not a reflection on the food that is amazing or the other staff we interacted with on the evening - I 100% recommend this restaurant)
