Went here last night for a meal with my family. Most amazing food! The staff are very friendly and attentive. We all had 4 different meals and not one thing was left on our plates at the end. Highly recommend!

We have been here a number of time before January and since. However, for me, January was the month that Da Franco became my undisputed No1 restaurant. There was a whole fresh artichoke on the specials board for me to dip and nibble on to my heart’s content. And this is the thing. The main menu is excellent and constant. The specials board shows the true worth of this family run restaurant as the seasonal aspect of their offering comes into its own. Whatever your taste or diet, Da Franco will fill your belly with food cooked with love. Proper, Italian food, such as the minestrone soup, and the various pasta dishes. Nothing pretentious or stupidly priced. The drinks are also reasonable - I like to start with a negroni then pick from the selection of wine by the glass to suit each course. Finally the family who own and run this restaurant; they are absolutely charming and always look pleased to see everyone who walks through their door.

Oh what a poor meal. We have been several times before and found this restaurant to be quite good for a local venue. Not this time…. My fresh sardines starter were cold and had no meat on the bone. My liver, ordered pink, was lukewarm and very overcooked and dry. My sauté potatoes were hard. My wife’s artichoke was ordered with hollandaise sauce on the side, it came with the sauce ,that had separated, poured all over the centre of the artichoke . When she mentioned this to the owner he commented that he had noticed this but still sent it out! Her sea bass was hard and anything but fresh. Her mashed potato was lumpy. The service was slow and the elderly wine waiter must have been the inspiration for Victoria Woods and Julie Walters infamous “two soups” sketch. He also served the swirls of butter for the stale bread but managed to tip several swirls off the dish and on to the table. No problem, he picked them up WITH HIS FINGERS and put them back in the dish! Last time we will come here.

A reminder of the original Italian restaurants Warm welcome Wholesome food nicely served although a bit slow but worth the wait my calves liver was as good if not better than any had in a more up market setting Try and eat off the main menu as the specials seem a bit on the high side overall a very pleasant meal

What has happened to Da Franco? We are regular diners at Da Franco and were so disappointed at our recent visit. Long wait for the meals, had to remind staff for jug of water, no-one asked if we wanted refills for our drinks, cold and weak coffee. Other tables were obviously waiting a long time for their meals too.

Excellent food, excellent service - we keep going back to this perfect family run restaurant where the atmosphere is always friendly.

Our favourite Italian restaurant - sadly it is 200 miles from home so our visits are not frequent, but never disappointing. Nothing particularly fancy just fabulous ingredients beautifully cooked - the veal chop was amazing - but amazing is routine. Don't miss the specials board. Very good wine list. And the staff? So friendly and efficient. A little gem.

Although we have been to this Restaurant many times for Lunch or Dinner, this was the first time we decided to book for New Year's Eve. We were a party of 10. As we walked into the Restaurant, we were warmly greeted by Daniel, the owner who makes you feel more like a friend than a customer. The Restaurant was beautifully decorated with Black & Gold balloons and other decorations all on the same theme. Tables were laid and looked very festive with hats, blowers, streamers, and lots of other novelty items. A glass of Prosecco and a nice choice of menu including Cream of Mushroom Soup, Devon Crab & Prawn Salad as Starters, Mains including Prime Surrey Sirloin Steak, Half a Duck in Morello Cherry Sauce and Desserts from the Trolley. Very good value at £65 per head. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great. Staff all happy, smiling, polite and very helpful. Later in the evening, after people had finished eating, tables were moved to the sides of the Restaurant to make room for music and dancing. We all had a very enjoyable, fun time with very good food and excellent service.

Been here twice now. Great authentic and fresh food at very reasonable prices. Fantastic service. If you are considering a visit to Da Franco I recommend that you book a table. We will be back again and again.

We visited for my sisters birthday and had a lovely evening. There was a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I asked for a dish that wasn’t on the menu but they were more than happy to do it for me. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I just need to go back as I couldn’t finish my main meal!

An amazing lunch once again from Daniel and the team. Thanks from all the poets. The mozzarella starter was fantastic and the steak today was the best I've ever had.

This little restaurant is a complete gem. This is my forth and best visit. Friendly welcoming staff, lovely fresh food, generous portions and a great atmosphere. All of my party (6), were praising their delicious food. Highly recommend this place.

Da Franco’s is by far the most authentic Italian restaurant I’ve been to in London. The food was perfect along with the staff, so if your looking for a piece of Italy you will not be disappointed.

A wonderful authentic Italian family run restaurant with Wife, Martha as the outstanding chef. We had soup, artichoke, yummy venison and the most delicious veal Escalope. Followed by heavenly Tiramisu and ice cream. We and came for my husbands birthday treat have never had a disappointing dish here, we look forward to returning soon.

Great restaurant, highly recommend. Smart place, spacious, tables not too close to each other and lots of round tables which we like. Staff were friendly and attentive service. Food is excellent and there are specials of the day on offer. We had venison steak, requested rare and it was just right. Prawns served with head and tails removed if you don’t like dealing with them! Desserts were great…crème brûlée and tiramisu were the ones we had and they were excellent. Not cheap but you get what you pay for and the price is right at this place!

We had a wonderful meal for my Birthday today. The food and service was second to none. Everything we had was truly 5 star. It's very unusual to find a traditional Italian restaurants that has lovely white table clothes and attentive friendly service. Would definitely recommend this Restaurant. First visit for 3 of us, went on our friends recommendation. We had a table booked for 7pm on Wednesday, place wasn’t too busy so seated straight away, menus handed out and drinks were ordered. Great selection of starters, we had calamari, prawn&crab cocktail and Parma ham with melon. Potions were good, food was lovely. Mains we had porcini mushroom risotto, pancetta and mushroom tagliatelle and grilled liver with sides. Meals were fantastic, portions were huge, we couldn’t finish our plates. We had a breather before desserts and coffee but honestly this was such a lovely meal. We weren’t made to feel rushed, took our time and all staff were chatty, friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to return.

Left London 10 year ago, visited and went back, still a beautiful restaurant, made to feel so welcome and I was just so pleased to see it had t changed. Beautiful food beautiful people thank you, my heart goes to you all.

Havent visited here in 3 years , pre Covid, would it live up to previous ? Yes, friendly greeting , great prompt service, good quality food and good quantity , we had a fabulous meal .All staff professional polite and good. Yes will come back again but not wait 3 years

A real old fashioned Italian restaurant with many long serving Owners and Staff. Such a pleasure to be warmly greeted like old friends even though it is some years since we last visited. The overall flavours were excellent and the quality was very good. I really cannot fault anything here. Will definitely return soon.

We arrived at 8 pm. Restaurant was busy - service slow. 9 pm we were still waiting for our starters. Asked for more bread. Mains arrived - Dover sole looked amazing as did my three friends. Mine was disappointing- sirloin steak with pepper sauce. Overcooked, fatty and just not very nice. Salad was warm and ok. Not great but ok. They did offer to re cook but after waiting so long I just got on with trying to eat some. I’ve had this many times previous but this was the worst. However, others in my party enjoyed their hot meal - maybe it was what I had ordered. Bill was way more expensive than it used to be. Nearing £100 for two. I had a glass of wine, my partner fizzy water. Perhaps time for a change,

Friendly welcome and attentive service. Huge variety of all Italian food. It is family-run and a lady in the kitchen really knows her cipolle! I had a veal escallop which was huge but I found it a bit dry. Desserts were great as were the starters. I was very noisy so not the place for a quiet twosome. Doggy bags or should I say boxes available.

Choosing what to eat in this restaurant is always so hard because EVERYTHING IS AMAZING!! We have been visiting this restaurant since we first discovered it 6 years ago. The service is five star, the food is fantastic……one of the best restaurants we have ever been to! Daniel, Lester & the staff are always so welcoming & friendly. I would have to say this is by far our favourite restaurant that we have ever been to!! Would highly recommend.

I have used this restaurant for many years and it is one of the best and friendliest Italian eating houses around . The staff are terrific and the food is excellent. My only criticism is choosing what to eat as there is so many things to choose from on the menu and on their daily ' specials,' board. Looking forward to my next visit.

We booked last minute for a Sunday evening. We visited 1 year ago and had a great meal so visiting the area again decided to return. The other diners all appeared to be regulars so that is a good sign.We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly. The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice. My linguine with clams was gorgeous and so FULL of clams!We will be back next year!

Lovely to return here to this traditional Italian Restaurant,and was first time out since Covid. Delightful food with lovely staff. was our 50th Anniversary and when our kids said they wanted to take us out - Da Franco was my first choice !

Me llevaron al Franco's en Friern Barnet para una cena de cumpleaños. ¡Qué hermoso lugar! Es Covid seguro con pantallas entre la mesa y todo el personal llevaba máscaras. Nos recibieron calurosamente, nos llevaron a una mesa, nos dieron un menú (recubierto de plástico para facilitar la desinfección) y nos dejaron decidir qué comer. Nuestro camarero, Lester, fue amable y atento sin apresurarnos. Todo el personal fue agradable y el chef merece una medalla cocinando todo por encargo. La comida era absolutamente deliciosa. Me sentí un poco avergonzado cuando se apagaron las luces y me cantaron feliz cumpleaños. Aunque un buen toque. Las diez pasaron demasiado rápido, así que nos despedimos y nos marchamos después de una comida y una experiencia fabulosas.

Nos estábamos quedando cerca y encontramos este restaurante italiano a poca distancia. Después de leer las críticas entusiastas de TA, llamé para reservar una mesa a mitad de semana. En general, teníamos algunas dudas sobre comer dentro de un restaurante. Cuando llegamos, estaba bastante ocupado con familias y parejas. No es enorme por dentro, pero tenía pantallas de metacrilato portátiles entre las mesas, por lo que se veía y se sentía bastante seguro. Estaba un poco preocupado de que no nos pidieran los detalles de seguimiento y rastreo, aunque tenían mi número de móvil de la reserva. Nos llevaron a nuestra mesa que tenía una de las pantallas entre ella y la mesa de al lado. Todo el personal fue muy amable y nos sentimos como en casa de inmediato. A juzgar por las conversaciones y los saludos, parecía que muchos de los comensales eran "clientes habituales", lo que siempre es una buena señal en un restaurante local.Pedimos nuestras bebidas. No tenían jugo de naranja para mí, pero el camarero amablemente dijo que exprimirían algunas naranjas y el camarero se puso a trabajar. Eso es servicio.Teníamos pan y mantequilla gratuitos. Pedimos entrantes de paté con tostadas y espárragos con queso, sabrosos y apetitosos. Para platos principales pedimos espaguetis con marisco mixto y langostinos y patatas fritas. ¡Mi pasta de mariscos era INCREÍBLE! Estaba repleto de mejillones, calamares, gambas y vieiras y lo disfruté muchísimo. No pude comer toda la pasta, pero comí hasta el último trozo de marisco. ¡Definitivamente el mejor que he tenido!Estábamos tan llenos que lamentablemente no pudimos manejar un dulce. La factura total con bebidas fue de aproximadamente 70. Buena relación calidad-precio para una comida fabulosa. El servicio fue amable y eficiente. Gracias a todos los involucrados. Volveremos el año que viene.

Un excelente almuerzo para un 90º cumpleaños. Nada es un problema, incluidas opciones sin gluten, un menú amplio, comida memorable (por las razones correctas) y, aunque no le habíamos dicho al personal al hacer la reserva, se pusieron manos a la obra e hicieron la vela del pastel y la música con buen gusto. Y para colmo, la factura fue menor de lo que esperaba. ¡Volveré!

Hoy tuvimos un buen almuerzo en este excelente restaurante con buenos amigos. El servicio es amable y eficiente, la comida está bien presentada y deliciosa. El restaurante está lidiando bien con la situación de covid y se le solicita que use máscaras faciales en el restaurante, solo se las quite cuando coma, y use los desinfectantes de manos al entrar y salir del restaurante, de acuerdo con las pautas del gobierno.

La comida y el servicio siempre son excelentes.Buena comida recién hecha con el dueño Daniel, esposa e hijo con personal siempre atento.Si es posible, se ofrecen dietas especiales.Para los fines de semana, reserve con al menos 1 o 2 semanas de anticipación en este popular restaurante.Desde marzo hemos tenido comida para llevar, cuya calidad sigue siendo la misma.

Disfrutamos muchísimo de nuestra comida y el servicio fue excelente.La comida era deliciosa con porciones muy decentes, especialmente la carne marinada y los raviolis de John Dory.El servicio fue muy atento y nos sentimos muy seguros.Han logrado mantener un ambiente hogareño a pesar de las precauciones de Covid.

Hoy visité el Franco's para almorzar con un amigo. Había una buena variedad para elegir, ambos tuvimos la ensalada de atún ni oise. El dueño se encargó de preguntar cómo queríamos cocinar el atún, ¡fue perfecto! Excelente ensalada, muy fresca y crujiente. El servicio fue excelente y el precio bueno. Recomiendo ampliamente este lugar. ¡Gran ventaja, el estacionamiento en los alrededores es gratis!

Nuestra primera vez desde el encierro. Se ha redecorado el restaurante, se ha observado un distanciamiento social, un sistema unidireccional en funcionamiento y pantallas colocadas entre las mesas.La bienvenida fue cálida y amable, ya que nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. Como de costumbre, la comida era abundante, bien preparada y presentada y muy sabrosa.No puedo entender algunas de las críticas negativas. No tener prisa no es ser ignorado, sino permitirle relajarse y disfrutar.

Almorzamos aquí ayer. El servicio fue rápido y eficiente. la comida estaba bien hecha y bien caliente. Mi marido tenía linguini con gambas, que era una porción muy grande. Comí un bistec de hueso que era caro y la parte de filete del hueso era pequeña. En general, una buena comida. La única crítica fue el crimen br l e que por el precio estaba en un plato bastante pequeño.Optamos por el descuento del 50% del gobierno, lo que hizo que el precio final fuera asequible.

Almuerzo familiar para cinco el domingo. Restaurante espacioso y personal con viseras. Todos teníamos algo diferente, pero la cocina se adaptó bien a nuestros pedidos, que fueron oportunos y deliciosos. El personal es muy servicial a la hora de elegir qué comer y está feliz de sugerir opciones que se ajusten a los deseos del comensal. Nuestro bien educado niño fue bienvenido.Dijeron que el domingo era su día más tranquilo y que había un par de recolecciones para llevar mientras estábamos allí. Es una pena, ya que el Franco es siempre bueno, el personal es muy acogedor y encantador. No dudes en comer allí. ¡Gracias Franco!

Came to the restaurant after visiting friends in London for a reunion and a catch up. We decided to go after a suggestion by a friend.We where greeted warmly and seated quickly, we honestly immediately felt at home. Food looked and tasted amazing, don’t get me started on the smells! Everything and more, you would expect from a family run restaurant. Next time I’m back in London, I know where I’m going for my evening meal! I’ve been looking for good homemade Italian food for a while now in London since I came back from Venice. This place was so on point with the food and the hospitality. They really make you feel at home and relaxed and I’ll definitely be coming back with some friends next time!!

It is very difficult to find a restaurant that has all the necessary ingredients in both the wonderful chef Martha, & the equally welcoming ‘meet & greet’ Daniel. The combination is faultless and the entire team work in both a professional and personable manner. It’s one of the finest finds ever!!

Joya local - estado allí años. Recuerda venir aquí cuando fue dirigido por el padre del dueño. Muy concurrida y llena de ambiente incluso los martes por la noche. La ternera milanesa fue una de las mejores que he tenido en años y el spaghetti Napoli fue cocinado a la perfección.

Mi esposa y yo viajamos mucho una vez al mes para visitar este restaurante familiar.

Tuvimos una cena increíble anoche, habíamos pedido una langosta para el cumpleaños de la esposa y fue fantástico. Yo tenía termidor y ella lo tenía a la parrilla solo con mantequilla, ¡Daniel seleccionó un adorable blanco claro para regarlo, simplemente encantador! La única forma en que podría mejorar la experiencia sería tomar unas pocas pintas de Moretti Lager súper helada de su bomba de tiro recién instalada del día anterior. Comida de 5 estrellas con servicio amable como siempre.

Lovely family run restaurant, with good quality food, prices are not astronomical, make sure you book it's so popular.

Following a warm welcome last Saturday we were quickly seated, breads served and drinks order taken. After we settled, the Specials Board was brought andwe made our selections. As the restaurant filled up the noise level built up so high and conversation became difficult. People on adjoining tables were shouting at each other to make themselves heard. The food was really good and I had a super chicken liver pate. My veal escalope as slightly undercooked but still very tasty. Staff were great quickly dealing with any minor problems.all four of us really had a good evening but the noise would stop me going on a Saturday.

What a place first visit of what’s going to be many. Went here with my wife and friend we were welcomed like old friends the staff were so friendly and on the ball. We had aubergine with a tomato sauce and calamari to start great portion size and cooked to perfection. Then the veal escalope with spaghetti which was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

My hubby chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and what a fabulous meal we have just had. The food was so fresh, and tasted home cooked. Great varied selection , very reasonable prices and a warm genuine welcome and service. We will definitely be returning

This is a local restaurant where people seem to go to talk, everyone is chatting, the waiters are friendly and efficient and it has a traditional Italian family run feel to it.

Saturday night meal with friends. The menu choice was great, lots for all pallets. Service very punctual, friendly and efficient. The food was equally tasty, portions very generous and we were left feeling really good. Great resturant and well worth a visit.

What an absolute gem, our first visit and certainly not our last. Food was absolutely delicious and the service second to none.

Mis padres han estado yendo casi mensualmente durante años a este restaurante. Fui anoche en una pequeña fiesta de 7. Toda la comida era encantadora y se sirve en un tiempo razonable. El personal es muy amable y el propietario es excelente, muy atento y charla con todos los clientes. No me puedo quejar del todo.

I really really want to like this restaurant, I love Italian and it is so close.....but the food, decor, atmosphere just seems so stuck in the 70s. Although the average customer seems quite old so maybe there’s a nostalgia there. The menu and wine list are very limited, no children’s menu and the food average at best. I had a fish that was so dry it was inedible. Service is hit and miss too bordering on very helpful at times to basil fawlty at others. I’d like to think it was a one off but every time I’ve tried the restaurant over the last 15 years thinking it would be better, we’ll it just isn’t. That said, it has its clientele it seems who like this and it’s always busy so up to you.

Went with friends to this lovely friendly old style restaurant, which for some unknown reason I haven't visited in years. The friends booked it and was not until we pulled up outside that the memory of this smashing restaurant came back to me.

Un auténtico restaurante italiano. Muy buena calidad entrantes y platos principales, pero me gustaría verlos afinar el plato de pasta con marisco. No tengo ninguna queja con la cantidad de almejas en el plato, había un montón, pero la salsa sabía lo mismo que todas las demás pastas dis es que teníamos en nuestra mesa. No hay mucho que probar pescado con crema. Espero que pueden alterar este problemilla al poco ya que un pequeño es prepotente, italiano, con un personal muy amable.

Fui esta noche con la familia para el cumpleaños de mi marido, me recordaba del viejo estilo trattoria italiana.

Visitamos el pasado fin de semana con la familia para una cena temprano. La bienvenida fue cálida y el ambiente era precioso. Sin embargo, la comida no están a la altura de servicio - en particular, champiñones rellenos (en mantequilla y primas aguado) calabacín con experimentados en el hígado. Los niños disfrutaron de sus platos pero su era muy salados cuando ragu que probé. Yo realmente quería disfrutar de este lugar, ya que soy un partidario entusiasta de restaurantes locales, pero sobre la base de mi visita, prefiero el fuerte etiqueta italiana basada en la N20.

This delightful restaurant offers the warmest service I’ve experienced in and out of London. You feel instantly comfortable and welcome. I went with my old folks and I walked out feeling I had befriended the waiters. The quaint yet vibrant decor and general vibe is authentic Italian so you get what you go for. Most importantly they put the same warmth and attention into their food which is genuinely 10/10: so much variety and flavour. Couldn’t recommend more :)

If you like a plate full of food, regardless of the quality, this place is for you. As far as I am concerned, it serves the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant and is not cheap. The veal escolope was probably re-heated in the microwave from frozen, as it was wet and tastless. The pasta that came with it, was drowned in a tasteless sauce. The owner keeps the restaurant busy, by making sure he kisses and cuddles all the local clientele.

We were celebrating dads birthday and wanted somewhere that could cope with a large number plus deliver good food.

Excellent meal and service. Four of us went on a Tuesday night in October. The food was really lovely. I had the Veal chop with rosemary and garlic and was excellent quality and food portion. The vegetables(which we were get charged separately) were excellent, I had the garlic spinach, zucchini and freshly cut chips, all of which were superb (yet does put up the price of the meal by a bit). The rest of our party really enjoyed their meal. The restaurant wasn't very busy, yet it was a Tuesday evening yet on the plus side we were really well served.

We have visited this Restaurant several times with friends. We have always found it very friendly with excellent food.

My husband and I went here for my birthday meal this year. The service was great, food was superb. Really cannot fault anything about this restaurant. Cannot wait to go back!

We visited Da Franco yesterday. What a nice place.

Simplemente no puedes ir mal aquí, desde los camareros hasta la comida complaciente hacia el maravilloso entorno deliciosas dentro. Gran lugar para venir solo, con amigos y con la familia. Se adapta perfectamente a cada necesidad. El mejor momento para venir es por la noche cuando las luces se apagaron y la música siempre parece encajar perfectamente.

Amigos solía vivir en Barnett y visitado el franco, un restaurante familiar italiano. Lyrically que sobre el gran encerada y comida de bienvenida que siempre habían estado allí y nos invitó a probar por nosotros mismos.

We've been coming here for a long time now and the food is always superb. No matter what you order, it is always cooked to perfection. When you walk in you are greeted and treated like family. What a great restaurant.

Returned to a great restaurant with family and as before not disappointed!The staff are lovely and the owner is always nearby to help if you get stuck for choice re the menu!! Great service and lovely food. Terrific starters and great main courses all presented on blackboards showing specialities plus menu with extra choices. Never disappointing with such variations. Great crab salad with or without avocado plus perfectly cooked asparagus looking delish and tempting carrot soup plus even more. My choice tonight was Saltimboca ala Romana with a selection of varied vegetables - others in the family chose calves liver, gorgeous chicken in mushroom sauce, veal ala milanese and huge lamb chops looking so tasty. All finished off with Crème brulee to die for, Tiramisu and other desserts. Coffees served with mints and mini arametto biscuits and finally lovely licquers... Will have to let this all go down and then look forward to a return to a lovely restaurant very soon.

The food here is by far the best around and the owner, who is always on hand, and his staff are great people.Always enjoy the meal and always leave saying we need to go back soon!

Firstly the service was great. From the moment we walked in it was excellent. The food was amazing best pasta I've had in a while. Would defined come back again.

went for birthday treat for bro in law - 8 of us and had a lovely evening. Great food, well served with great portions. Lovely service. Chosen dessert selections made and birthday boy even got a candle and H.B. sung!! Nice atmosphere without being pretentious. Thoroughly recommend. Our second visit and will def return. (No waitresses - just waiters) even played our requested Italian music (after most had left!!)
