We had a fabulous family meal celebrating a 40th birthday. They closed the restaurant for us. The food was delicious and services friendly. Highly recommend

Fuimos a casa de Sofalino anoche con seis amigos y tuvimos una velada maravillosa. Todo sobre la noche fue excelente, desde la deliciosa cerveza Peroni hasta los agradables vinos tintos y blancos. Comencé con paté de salmón y caballa, seguido de una lasaña de ternera tradicional, y culminé con un Profiterole decadente especial de postre. El servicio fue atento y eficiente, con la comida llegando en los intervalos justos. Los ocho disfrutamos de la comida y el ambiente vibrante. ¡Una noche feliz y divertida!

One of the nicest Italian meals I've had in a long time. We went at an awkward time (after lunch but before dinner). Food absolutely yummy - all the starters , mains and ice cream dessert. And loved the Italian music as well.

Family run Italian restaurant in North London, authentic feel, Umberto Tozzi's Gloria playing in the background while an old Italian couple sitting up front watched the world go by. Amazing food, service hot and quick. Highly recommended.

Italian restaurant on the Whetstone High Road in North London. Friendly greeting makes a good first impression. Food average. My fish described as pan-fried sea bass but no crispiness or frying evident, also overcooked for my liking.

Sofolino is a very friendly restaurant. The service and food were really good. Eight of us went for a family get together and had varying foods. We had a mixture of pasta, pizza,schnitzel and calves liver. All were amazing. Next time we are in London we will be back.

We had my husbands 40th birthday party at Sofalinos and we had the most wonderful afternoon. Adriano and his team made every effort to make sure we had everything we could possibly need. The food was exceptional. All of our guests commented on how lovely everything was. We will be back soon! Thankyou so much!!

Sofalinos is my favourite Italian restaurant! The atmosphere is amazing! The service is outstanding each and every time we go to eat! The food is of the highest quality, always fresh and very authentic! I’ve had birthday celebrations, big family meals and christenings here and again time after time the quality of food is of the highest standard. Highly recommend!!

We attended a private birthday party here. Which was very nice and food was very tasty.

Two for a catch up dinner. The service was good. The food was excellent. So why the dropped star? Because, although the menu on their website reads "© Copyright 2024, Sofalino", the prices for everything were much higher, which was unexpected and unacceptable. Add to that the disgraceful charge of over £3 for a Coca-Cola probably bought from the cash & carry for less than £1 and there goes the 5th star.

Came here as it's very local to me. Almost missed it when driving past. Family run restaurant. Food is nicely cooked and flavourful. All dishes we had were nice - grilled seabass, lasagne, penne bolognese and chicken milanese. Reasonably priced as well.

tried this restaurant but were totally underwhelmed with the food. Pizza was thin crust but very chewy and difficult to cut let alone eat

Lovely restaurant, good food but our server was not friendly and almost made us feel like he didn’t want us to be there which was a shame as we’d been looking forward to going to this restaurant for a long time. It was disappointing.

On a visit back to Whetstone, we went to Sofalino for the first time in 10 years! It was good to see the quality of the food and service had not changed in those short 10 years! All three of us enjoyed our starters and mains. We really enjoyed our visit, the food and the friendliness and professionalism shown to us. We hope to get back there soon when next in Whetstone. Thank you for a very enjoyable and tasty lunch.

Very tasty food and very friendly staff

The service here is great, the staff are attentive. A wide variety of Italian dishes. Some dishes could do with some more flavours such as the Gnocchi to make it feel more authentic but on the whole a nice comfortable place with a good standard of food.

I’ve been here a few times and never had a bad meal. Today I went with my mum and sister for mums birthday, her choice. Mum loves Italy and has spent time there so knows Italian food and this place passes her strict test for authentic Italian food. The staff are lovely and friendly, but then so are we, that might have something to do with it! I had calves liver and it was perfect, it’s easy to mess up. Plus the chocolate and almond cake is unmissable but my mum loves tirimisu and they comped it, very kind: and put a candle in and sung happy birthday. All in all it was a lovely lunch, they even put the flowers we bought mum in water for her at their suggestion. Thank you so much for helping to make her birthday so special

As a local Italian serving fresh pizza and pasta, I cannot rate this place highly enough. Friendly service, nice portions and reasonable prices. Totally recommend.

We choose this restaurant to celebrate my 70th birthday for approximately 40 people firstly because we live locally and are regular users of Sofalino’s. We were delighted with the service, the quality of the food and the friendly and efficient staff who looked after us all afternoon, nothing was a problem and we got some lovely comments from the guests about the quality of the food..

Despite living in the area, this was our first time to sofalino. We have been missing out!!!! Absolutely delicious food, friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff. We had such a fantastic experience and can't wait to go back!! They also serve melonchello which made my night :)

We regularly visit Sofalino to enjoy authentic Italian food, fantastic atmosphere and good service. The quality and the range of red and white Italian wines were excellent, something we always enjoy and look forward to in our next visit.

I recently came to Sofalino for an evening out with my Italian family. I have been coming here for a while over the years and have always been happy with their food and service. The place is cosy and inviting. I did read their last review and was rather surprised to read the negative comments. As an Italian from Northern Italy, I recognise the regional dishes that Sofalino sometimes offers on its specials board and they are always good. I ordered chicken broth with ravioli along with a pasta and fagioli soup as a starter. Both dishes were authentic and the broth in particular was very well made, it was well received from my Piacenza family. Vitello (veal) was lovely in a marsala and mushroom sauce. Primitivo wine is always excellent here, however the Malbec is great too. Desert was good, I ordered apple cake with ice cream and tiramisu.. excellent. No complaints here, a really good evening meal. Espresso is good here ( I am fussy with coffee but it's spot on here) Well worth a visit.

Firstly let me say that I don't like to run down a business especially in these difficult times. but when you are spending almost £40 per person in a restaurant on less than average food i feel entitled to explain our disappointment. On arrival at the restaurant we realised we had made a mistake before even trying the food. It was 1.30 on a Sunday lunchtime and every restaurant /cafe along Whetstone High Road was packed out .Sofolino was empty. We had booked beforehand for a table of 7 and walking into the restaurant there was just one other table of 4. The atmosphere was cold, dull and miserable and not at all inviting and although the place was empty we were put on a cramped table towards the back. I thought that maybe they were expecting a full house so I asked the manager/owner if more customers were coming and he said "yes 2 more at 3 o'clock and someone at 5pm". I will be brief about the food. Some of us had the pasta Fagioli soup it tasted like it was Heinz out of a tin. The others had the special pea soup and it tasted like it had been watered down to stretch to make up the required portions. Main courses again were average..4 Risotto, 1 linguini with invisible king prawns. 1 Melanzane which was very good and I had the Veal fungi which was so tough it was almost inedible.As I had left most of the veal on the plate I would have expected the owner/waiter to make some comment... he never did. For deserts a couple of ice creams and tiramisu and some coffees. 3 glasses of cheap wine, a gin and tonic and £270 later we walked out of the cold dull restaurant leaving the man wearing the same miserable face that he had from when we arrived and throughout the whole service. I really dont know if he was the owner or the waiter but you would think that in these difficult times he could put a smile on his face and be a little bit chatty even if he hates his job and his customers. Obviously he doesn't care and neither do I that's why I am writing this report. By the way, it was so cold in the restaurant the 3 women kept their coats/wraps on throughout lunch.

Outstanding cuisine, excellent service in a bright, comfortable restaurant. Have been here many times. Really enjoyed salmon and tuna pate starter, followed by melanzane parmigiana as a main course.

Our favourite go to Italian … great staff and fabulous food. The standard menu is great but we often have their specials which are always excellent. The desserts, particularly the tiramisu and panna cotta are by far the best we’ve ever had. The staff are attentive and always welcoming - would recommend 100%.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch. Partner had chicken risotto, I had mushroom and truffle risotto. Desserts and delicious. Tried but failed to get the waiter to smile. IMO he spends too much time standing on the doorway deterring potential customers. Atmosphere sombre and would be livened with flowers. Nice music.

Fantastic customer service, delicious food and tasty wine. Prawns in garlic butter were tender and fresh, chicken liver pâté was light and full of flavour and cured meat platter had nice selection of meats. Primitivo red wine was fruity with a very slight sweet aftertaste and their house white refreshing and easy to drink. Tiramisu and polenta lemon cake were also delicious. If I want to fault only one thing , I would say fried calamaris were a bit chewy and rubbery however, not greasy which is really good.They offered us amaretto on the house which is really a nice gesture from the restaurant.

A very pleasant local Italian restaurant. I had a risotto for a main course....it needed more flavour. Everyone seemed happy with their dishes and the service was very pleasant and helpful. Would go again.

A nice airy atmosphere with good fresh Italian food. There is a lot to choose from and we had a cold salad starter and some delicious pasta. I was eating lunch with my sister, so it was nice to relax and catch up without any bustle and noise that you can get in busy places. We will definitely go back.

Had lunch here today with a large party of family. I honestly couldn’t fault it. Starter of giant prawns swimming in garlicky butter perfectly cooked, followed by calves liver medium rare which melted in the mouth. Lovely glass of red wine to accompany it and followed by a delicious pud .Everyone was happy with the food and the attentive but unobtrusive service. Highly recommended

Living near Sofalino, I've always wanted to try it so with a friend went along on a Friday evening. We found the restaurant very relaxed and inviting. The menu has some great dishes and I tried the special of ravioli filled with duck and chestnuts....

We really enjoyed our meal at Sofalino, we were very well looked after by the staff who were pleasant and helpful. Great food and a very extensive menu, we are all (5 friends) keen to return soon. Rarely have I given a 5 Star rating...

I recently ordered food for a dinner party of 6. Prior to placing my order, Adriano helpfully suggested items from the menu and we flexed the items ordered to accommodate varying dietary requirements. My order was delivered on time and was piping hot! The food had been freshly prepared and the quality and standard of each starter and main were exceptionally high.Overall, I experienced a professional, approachable and friendly service.
