Have been here 3 times now, exceptional service family run business, the most romantic place in London, step back in time to the most authentic Italian restaurant. Has a really cosy romantic atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommended.

Easily the best family run restaurant in Hendon. Decent specials board with 3 or 4 choices per course and they were flexible to change and mix up things if when asked. Easy parking close by by check google.

We arrived and and finally a waiter arrived to take our drinks order I asked for a Jack Daniels and Diet Coke "sold the last JD yesterday" OK 2 glasses of Proseco then,"we only sell bottles" I ordered white ate it was so over cooked but my friends wanted to come here so I said nothing next course liver & onions well you would have thought I'd ordered leather,the sauté potatoes were also burnt!! For desert(I was the only one having) I asked for cheese and biscuits I was served a small piece of dolce late with some bread,yuk.We had 3 starter,4 mains,1 desert,2 lates & a bottle of wine total bill £150,believe me we eat out every Sat/Sunday evening this is one place we won't be returning too again

This is an absolute gem of a local restaurant and we often take family when they visit. Prices are very reasonable, there’s lots of choice and the food is all fresh, and Neal is SO attentive and just a joy to chat to. Just perfect.

Had a lovely meal at Valentino's last night. We went with our son and daughter-in-law who live locally. Neil, the proprietor welcomed us like old friends. The food was excellent, the service good and it was not over-priced. Will definitely go again.

I visited Valentinos for the 5th time tonight and brought my bf along who had never been before.

I really loved it here. Great atmosphere and excellent food. Both my wife and I agree that the bread is the best we have ever had in a restaurant. The good news however doesn’t stop there. The meal was excellent, and a very good, inexpensive house red helped too. Top this with a friendly welcome from Neil, who even though we had not met before, made us feel like we were more than just customers.

Starter of bruised and black avocado salad. The presentation was Chunky. No finesse at all. Main course sirloin steak. Fatty and thin. Vegetables were overcooked and the peas were tinned! Crumble was tasteless and very little fruit. Shame...as it was recommended. Will not go again.

I've been dining here man and boy since the 1970's .Neal has owned it since 1999 and makes everyone very welcome .The Northern Italian Chef has the Midas Touch in the kitchen and takes time to talk to the many regulars there when he has finished cooking Whether it's just a quick Pizza eat in or out or a special occasion dinner or party .Valentinos offers quality good value and warmth

Yo no estaba muy seguro de qué esperar, pero me sorprendió gratamente Valentinos. Valentino's is a wonderful restaurant, nothing is too much for the staff, they are extremely accommodating, friendly & the food is great. I recently went there for dinner with a group of 20+ and I have to say, everything was spot on. Nothing was missing, there wasn't a long wait for food or drinks. 10/10. Thank you!

5 of us ate here and had we all had different delicious meals. The customer service is second to none. All meals were served promptly from start to finish, everything was so fresh and tasty.

This place is quite local to where I work so go quite often and the customer service is fantastic and the food is really good value for money.

My husband and I like Italian food which is not so easy to find . Than we found Valentino's by chance . We both really enjoyed it! We had minestrone soup, grilled prawns and veal . It was all delicious ! We will return .

I just come back from dinner at Valentino’s and oh my goodness, it was delicious! It can only be described as homely and Neil so SO welcoming! They even do half and half! Half pasta, half pizza, heaven! It’s so reasonable too. So happy we’ve finally found a fantastic local Italian. Can’t wait to go back

Just left this restaurant, a very happy customer. My boyfriend took me for a lovely evening, as we always drive past and always wonder what this lovely cute restaurant is to Valentinos. My boyfriend had half pizza, half pasta (the Margherita, and the aubergine pasta), and I had a pasta bake (the lasagne with no meat)- which they were very happy to change for me. They were all ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. the bread to start was also very nice, heated up which is always really good. The service as well was brilliant, the owner was so welcoming and kind and knew everyone's names who came in!!! We felt very looked after, and ate lovely food. Will definatley be going back !

This is s charming little restaurant in an unlikely location. Next to a main road but step inside and you could be in the heart of Italy. They have been there for 40 years and no wonder why. Their food and service is just superb. We had mussels to start - having just spent the weekend in Bruges I was dubious. But the mussels were divine, fresh served with fantastic cream & wine sauce. As good if not better than Bruges.Main course we had a carbonara and calves liver with sage. The liver was cooked to perfection; beautifully soft inside and seared on the outside. The carbonara was the best I've ever tasted.As for the service, Neil the owner was welcoming, attentive but not intrusive. I witnessed him immediately offering to replace a dish a lady ordered but was struggling with the spiciness. This place is a must if you are in the area. First class.

Two weeks ago we went to Valentino. I had not been there, through a variety of reasons, for quite a while.Neil, the proprietor and his lovely wife, were really most welcoming towards both of us and our two friends.Whilst it is not Haute Cuisine the food is good, freshly cooked and plentiful.There is always a large choice on both the menu and the specials. I had an impeccable pollo sorpresa and my wife ordered veal in marsala whilst our friends enjoyed liver alla venezia and veal in white wine, cream and mushrooms.A lovely bottle of crisp white wine from the Veneto was the perfect accompaniment.It is not a posh restaurant but it is a very good example of a local Italian and you will NOT leave hungry. I shall not leave it so long again to return.

Following a day out together I went on a 'date night' with my daughter, we were a little tired an hungry and as we passed by we thought we'd stop in. The staff we ever so friendly and welcoming. There were clearly several regulars and repeat customers, which is always a good sign. Food was good and came out pretty quickly, despite there being a good number of people in the restaurant. Would definitely go back. If I was going as a group (anything bigger than 2) I think it would be better to book to avoid disappointment. They also did take away food as well.

Myself and my partner have visited this restaurant many times before and every time the customer service and food have been spot on. The owner is a lovely man who makes us feel very welcomed and at home here. The food is gorgeous too and I would definitely recommend a visit to Valentino's if you haven't already!

I visited Valentino's many years ago and don't know why I haven't returned until now. The service is excellent and the food equally excellent. They couldn't do more to help. From the initial booking until paying the bill I couldn't fault it. Can't wait to return!

My husband and I went for an early dinner last night and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. A very warm welcome and excellent customer service. Our food was great, generous portions, we particularly enjoyed the home made apple and rhubarb crumble. Very good bread to start with. An authentic Italian restaurant, refreshing after having eaten at chain Italians for several years. Easy to park in surrounding streets.

What can I say we love this place, the food is full of flavour and never fails to hit the spot. The chicken Kiev is my favourite.. and we always start with a great soup. Not only is the food great, the whole experience down to the decor makes the night something different from all those big chains out there!!! And to finish it off the host completes the evening with really looking after you and does this with such care and attention to detail.We've been coming here for 16 years, you'll never find a place like it. Once you are through the door, you'll never look back. Complements to the host/owner.

I absolutely love this place. The decoration, the table and chairs, the art work .. it's so lovely and a unique find considering most places are just these big chains. The host is the most genuine, welcoming and attentive I've ever come across any where. The food is very nice too !

First the pros: the owner is really welcoming and genuinely friendly. Cons: worst pizza ever. The dough is just wrong, it seems more a pastry than a pizza dough. Tomatoes sauce not dressed and mozzarella is more a cheese substitute. Very bland flavour and felt sick all night. Very expensive prices as well- a pizza around £11. Also the wall was dirty with stains and made me feel uncomfortable.I didn't complain but I won't be back.

Ate here on spec and was very impressed. The manager was attentive but without being intrusive. The food was excellent and delicious. Will certainly eat here again when opportunity allows and recommend to other diners.

I agree with the other reviews that the staff are really friendly. The restuarant is a little on the tired side and quite dark. It was quiet when we visited with only four other diners in so perhaps this is a more enjoyable venue when it's a little busier. I liked the crusty bread served almost immediately to get you started and my main (veal escalope and pasta) was decent enough although nothing special. This is one of those times when I wish TA had a 1 to 10 marking system as 3/5 seems harsh but 4/5 is too generous.

I visited here with my fiancé and two friends on a Friday night. Upon entering the restaurant the owner greeted us and shook my hand (lovely man). The atmosphere was quaint, perfect for our catch up with friends. Specials were written on the blackboard and had a great selection. We went for the stuffed mushrooms to start which were delicious, the chef even put one more in the usual serving of 3 for us! We all want for pizza (when in Rome and all). A nice selection and the option to make your own. I have to say my marharita was so good, only minor gripe I had was the quality of the base. It was more crisp than baked, but still delightful. With it being close to where I live I can certainly say I will go again. The food isn't high end, but I don't think it's trying to be. A lovely family run place with plenty of warmth which I will visit again.

A group of friends and I went to Valentino's on a Friday evening. We were taken back at first how busy it was given the location of the restaurant near the main road, but soon realised why this family run restaurant has garnered a lot of local interest. The good was good but the main thing for me was the service by the owners. The food was slightly pricey for what it was, however for the service and atmosphere it's well worth it. The owners make you feel welcomed and were very attentive throughout!

The owners were with out a doubt the kindest and sweetest people I've ever come across... The food was lovely and authentic Italian, the atmosphere was cozy and the owners who work there are knowledgable and beyond friendly. We had a large gathering of over 20 people for a Xmas dinner. This could easily have overwhelmed this relatively small restaurant. Rather that become frustrating or inadequate the service made it quite a fun evening and added to rather than detracted from the event.We have been here a few times and the food has always been good honest food. Its not Michelin star nor does it claim to be but there is nothing to find fault with either. Wine is a bit hit and miss (otherwise I would have given it a rare 5 stars) and is something to be wary of. too many of the whites are fine for a long summer picnic but not in a restaurant with a meal. Service was slow - but that is how we wanted it. When we have been here in more of a hurry, as long as you make that clear, it has never been an issue.Pizzas and pastas are Italian (no thick base or overcooked pasta). So, not an absolute favourite or ours due to the wine but not one we avoid either. Great if you cannot be bother to cook and you know what you get.

If you live in North London or even beyond you need to try the food here. The service is brilliant! Definitely will be making this place my regular eat out...

As a party of four we called in on a Saturday night without booking. The friendly waiter offered us one of two tables. We were lucky as the place soon filled up. The atmosphere was great. Ok it may be a little worse for wear but the friendliness of the owners and the quality of the food and wine more than made up for that. The food was simple, traditional Italian, the pancakes were delicious and the house red was one of the best we've had.We all agreed that this was a little gem of a place and we hope to eat here again when we are next in London.

It is a very friendly Restaurant, however, quality of food in our opinion is not as good and do not match the superlatives we find from others.The restaurant has simply dirty tables and chairs which needs urgent treatment.

We came to this restaurant for a birthday meal and can honestly say is the best Italian food I have had - including compared to a recent trip to Rome! The restaurant is old fashioned Italian and super inviting. The service and owner were faultless- nothing was a problem and everything arrived hot and in good time. We enjoyed our food so much we personally thanked the chef.This is a definite try for friends, coupled and families of all ages.The food is good portions and it is easy to park just round the corner.We will be back!

I have been to Valentino's three times. In the past I have enjoyed the food very much. This meal was not one that i honestly can say was the best. The others in the party enjoyed the meals from the menu. I choose Garlic bread with mozzarella and a Napoli pizza . The garlic bread was very large and enough for three people . This in itself is not a bad thing , but when someone is ordering pizza and the others are ordering starters it's size should be pointed out . Unfortunately the pizza garlic bread was very tasteless and flakey ! Somehow the magic ingredient was missing which was tomatoes and there was very little mozzarella to be seen. I struggled with it which is unusal for me. The pizza eventually arrived it was the same base as the garlic bread . However it did taste better than the previous course. Valantino's is not a low price meal resturant and compared to others like Zizzi's, Ask and Pizza Express is expensive. The resturant overall has a pleasant atmosphere . However some low level music would be nice .

We had another super meal last night at Valentino's. Not only was the food delicious and plentiful but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming as a full house was catered for with all the care and cheer they are so good at. We love this restaurant and make a point of eating there whenever we are in Hendon.

You can always be assured of a warm welcome at this old fashioned Italian. All the usual favourites are on offer (the crespoline stuffed pancakes are absolutely delicious), but look out for the occasional specials (my mother really enjoyed the new foil baked trout with spinach). This place is great for all ages and our family group ranged from 22 to 90. The chef will make a special effort to vary dishes for anyone who has special dietary needs and this is much appreciated. There is a good selection of wines to accompany the food as well.

Great food, lovely, friendly owners, and a family celebratory meal made it a memorable night. The owners were kindness itself, and very attentive. We will certainly return if in the area. Highly recommended.

We went with friends on 14 September 2016 and had another good evening where the service friendliness and food are excellent. Neil the owner always makes customers feel very welcome and you are greeted like old friends.The food is beautifully prepared and there is always the special menu board if you do not require the main menu and the chef is very adaptable and will make a dish to customer's own request.

My family and I were in the Hendon area for my sister's passing-out parade and chose Valentino's at random. We are so glad that we did, as it was the icing on the cake of an already wonderful day. Owner Neal and his wife are the loveliest people - when we arrived they made a real fuss of my sister on her special day and then made sure we were completely looked after all evening. Nothing was too much trouble - I'd asked on the phone beforehand if Neal could provide a little surprise for my sister, and he duly brought out a dessert taster plate at the end of the meal. The food was delicious and honestly-priced. We chatted to the owners in between courses and felt like we'd known them for a long time, although we'd just met them. At the end of the night they waved us off with hugs and smiles. Thank you so much for a night to remember.

Nice venue, homely environment, very cosy. Menu was simple with great choices on offer, especially the 1/2 pizza 1/2 pasta deal for around 11 quid. Food was amazing, authentic and traditional, just what I was expecting!

How nice it was to go back in time, back to 1977 when this restaurant opened. With nearly 40 years of heritage from the old 01 telephone number outside to the original decor.What was as nice was the old fashioned Italian menu and choices, just like ma'ma would have made it.Roll on 40 years and it is in pretentious still with the original owners who put their heart and soul into offering old fashioned service, nothing was too much.Now the food, from the soup, lasagne and whitebait to start to the various veal and fish dishes and the masses of vegetables it was very plentiful and enjoyable. No room for deserts. If I was going to be critical, less salt on the sauté potatoes and zucchini (which were on the house) as they ran out of the starter I wanted.We will return as was good value and home cooked food with soul.

The service was great and the team did very well to make us welcome. However the food was not of a standard we were expecting of an authentic home cooked Italian and we are baffled by the excellent reviews. We had veal, pizza and garlic bread plus some wine. All below average, oily and without flavour. De Franco in Barnet much nicer!

Had very high expectations of this restaurant based on the reviews here and on Google. However, none of the food was "impressive". It was quite bland actually and I would question the freshness of it / potentially a lot of pre-cooked stuff.The restaurant has been going for 40 years and nothing has changed in that time (including the decor). Apart from the prices which are very high considering what one receives (overcooked pasta, bland sauces, pre-cooked items, minimal flavour).Note, it was full and lots of people will swear by it. If you like old skool, bland London-Italian style food then yes of course (lots of suburban / older people do). But its definitely not fresh or tasty. Sorry, I really wanted to like this place. But I would never go back.

We had a night at Hendon Hall celebrating out anniversary and ate here after reading some of the great TripAdvisor and Facebook reviews. When we entered, we were greeted with an extremely friendly man called Neal, who was very welcoming and charming. The restaurant has a very authentic and rustic feel to it. Similar to places we have actually eaten in whilst in Italy. There is a standard menu and extensive specials menu that is regularly updated. The food is great and tastes very fresh. Potion size was great and I would definitely recommend the homemade limoncello tiramisu!! Neal and the staff were very friendly without being overbearing. A great little gem of a restaurant, that is authentic, serves great food and friendly service. I would highly recommend!

The food here is authentic italian cuisine excellently made, a very personal friendly service offered, cosy welcoming environment, really lovely place to eat.

A good friend recently passed away and we decided to organise a lunch in her honour at Valentino's, her favourite restaurant. They don't normally open during the week for lunches, but agreed to willingly on this occasion. We simply phoned up and gave Neal the numbers attending, and he and his staff did everything else. A superb buffet was put on with some of the tastiest cold dishes I've ever eaten, together with some wonderful desserts. Neal seemed to be everywhere, meeting, greeting explaining dishes and serving drinks. It was a lovely lunch and everybody agreed how wonderful it had been. What could have been a very sad occasion turned out to be a really pleasant one, so many thanks and congratulations to Neal and Ferdinando.

It really is great to see a lovely quaint Italian restaurant, that actually make you feel like your in Italy. The service is amazing, super friendly and welcoming. The food it tasty although we would have preferred more of a vegetarian choice (egg-free).

Warm welcome from staff on entry. They really try to be helpful and accommodating. Probably need to hire some more though. The food was fine, but could have been better in terms of taste. However, I was very impressed by the service.

Homely, cosy, family atmosphere with a fawning "Basil Fawlty" owner who cannot do enough for you, even shaking hands with everyone as they leave! The menu is classic Italian Trattoria fare with some exceptions. There is a printed menu and a chalk-board one with all the "specials" of the day. The food was good but not wonderful. Excellent service.

We had an occasion to visit this restaurant during May and we found the food very tasty and the staff were very helpful,and accommodating. We had a lovely time in the establishment. We would recommend it to people from out of the city of London. It's small but homely.

My wife Viv and I went to Valentinos on Saturday night to celebrate her birthday. This was the first visit after about 9 years and it was great to see the same staff and same menu from all those years ago. As always the food was excellent and great service from everyone - in particular Neal who remembered us after all that time - and what we liked! Service is neither too quick nor too slow and it was great to be re aquainted with veal milanese with spaghetti - and a great cheese platter to finish. A fabulous evening at a local restaurant which has managed to buck the trend and survive providing continuity and value for money outside a main shopping centre. See you all again soon!

Me and my boyfriend have lived in the area for a couple of months, and we googled restaurants in the area to find somewhere different, and we found valentinos! Literally the most loveliest place I have been in a long time. Amazing staff, incredible food! (With generous portion sizes! ) and a warm atmosphere. As one of the few restaurants in this residential area, we've visited a few times including special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, especially when we have our kids with us. The food is lovely too. The last time we went we complained that the portions were too big! Unfortunately, looks like they've heeded our advice :-(Nevertheless, this is a lovely place which we would always recommend and hope it continues to fly the flag for local run restaurants.

I have visited here on a few occasions now. Each time the staff have gone totally out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed and even a free round of drinks for a birthday meal. They are happy to go through the menu with you in detail and give you lots of their time. The food is on point every time. The New Year menu was absolutely delicious. Fantastic value for your money. I can't recommend this venue enough.

Valentino's is simply the warmest and friendliest dining atmosphere you can hope to find almost anywhere. This family run business offers honest, traditional Italian food but, with a real smile. I have been 4-5 times as I pass through London and It's like meeting old friends every time. They let me mix and match ingredients, nothing is too much trouble. It's the perfect London pit stop for me and they even do amazing deals on take away pasta! Parking is pretty easy too.

We were here from 2pm and didn't leave till around 8pm. My friends have been coming here for many years as it is a wonderful, traditional Italian restaurant. The staff are so friendly, so funny and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I had the most tasty seabass with sauté potatoes and a very generous portion of fresh vegetables. The minestrone soup was very flavourful and the trifle was wonderful. There were 10 of us and one or two are quite flamboyant, being in the music industry . I would definitely recommend this restaurant - it's the real deal, from the staff who have been there many years, to the lovely atmosphere and of course the wonderful dishes. I will definitely be back. Thank you to all for a wonderful afternoon lunch that ended in the evening!!!!

At arrival we was welcomed by a very friendly staff. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a table not far from the door and I noticed that all customers was given a very warm welcome at arrival. For me it looks like most of the guest were regulars. The food was very good. We had a lovely evening at Valentinos.

Valentino's is a must for anyone looking for an excellent meal in the Colindale area. The atmosphere is fantastic! Neal is a lovely and very accommodating host and his food is to die for. The bruschetta was so tasty especially the pate! The ravioli was beautifully done and tasted like an excellent home cooked dish. Desserts were also great! I can't wait to come again soon and sample more of the menu!

Have been coming to this restaurant for years. Neil always looks after us. Food always plentiful and delicious, always something new on the specials to try. Welcoming when we bring our children to, who love the pizza.

It was quite on our arrival at 12:30 we had pick of any seat in the place. And although valentines Sunday lunch we found other couples had the same idea. Some old freinds of the owner and some new passer with families. It made for a real comfortable feeling and with great and tasty food i cannot knock it.Would recommend a return.

Like many we don't do reviews normally but whenever we fancy a good Italian meal this is where we go.Very varied menu - blackboard with special is extensive. You will not be disappointed and quality of food is excellent - great ambience and ideal for couples and with family/friends.Great for Pizzas and me grand-kids love making their own Pizzas on a Sunday when they are not too busy.Neil is always attentive and always makes you feel welcome - for the locals I tried that new place (Domenicos) in Mill Hill High street and realise just how lucky we are to have Valentino's!!My best to Frederico and Daniel as well as Mo and Maria that help out at week-ends.If you like Italian food then this is the place to go.

My partner and I visited here last Saturday night. Now i have been here twice before with my family which had always been enjoyable but i did feel it may be more suited to smaller groups as the tables are quite small and close together but this is due to the classic Italian look of the restaurant so not a negative at all. We shared a garlic and tomato pizza for starters ( as i prefer it to the garlic bread on starters) and then i had a vegetarian pasta dish and my partner the lasagne. All of which were very tasty. When the bill arrived we were actually quite surprised at how cheap it had been as we had also ordered 3 drinks. All in all a lovely night and dinner.

We went here for the first time tonight. Absolutely love this place. Really cute decor, wonderful staff and very welcoming. And the food was delicious. I loved the place within a minute of entering. Will for sure be visiting again :)))))

Found Valentino's via TripAdvisor and so glad we did.A warm welcome, great friendly service,delicious food and a complimentary limoncello at the end...what more could you ask for? !Would definitely recommend. ..my 2 daughters loved it!!!Thank you ! xxx
