We recently moved to the area and this one has become our favourite local Italian place. The place is very cozy and the food never disappoints

Although it is the best pizza experience in North Finchley it isn't a real Napoli pizza. The service and atmosphere tries very hard to suit a typical Italian restaurant, but there are a few things they missed. Most important pizza should be served along with a pizza slicer, so you can slice it by yourself. Apart from that I do strongly recommend.

This was the worst and most hurtful dining experience I’ve ever had. I’m shocked by the racism and overall lack of humanity of the owner. When we walked past the restaurant the menu looked ok and the place looked authentically Italian. We’d also been fooled by the amazing reviews this place had(more the fool us!!!) The owner came out, did not greet us, smile or offer a warm welcome. We were surprised at this as other nearby restaurants operate very differently! His aggressive tone complete lack of customer service awareness as the lunch prevailed has left me with a bitter taste. Our food arrived there was no politeness or kindness in his service. Not even eye contact. Just silently put food on the table and removed it without even asking if we’d finished! My pasta dish was admittedly good(but not great and certainly not worth all this). When we paid, we were open about leaving this place a review(because it’s more honest to help a business grow through feedback which is was our sincere hope for this owner). This was met with aggression and rudeness and as we walked out of the door he said “I don’t know where you’re from but here in this country we don’t take two tables”. For context it was a very hot day, the inside of the restaurant felt hotter, we sat outside at 2/3 small tables facing away from the sun and instead of asking nicely he aggressively said “You’re taking two tables?! That’s how youre going to sit?!” We said we’re happy to move if anyone comes and that he could ask nicely (but the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty inside and out if anyone had stopped there was another table and we would have happily moved but he was VERY rude in the way he spoke with us). His service was abysmal no eye contact no manners no customer service…even AFTER we had moved for him taking plates away and putting food down without a word. This level of ‘customer service’ is unacceptable but the racist comment? And his reply to the other comment posted by my family member where he has reworded what he ACTUALLY said? Unforgivable and we, nor our friends or family will be returning. We suggest you really think about one of the other INCREDIBLE restaurants that are family owned, friendly, welcoming and refrain from ignorant offensive comments. Sub standard food, no customer service, with racism on the side? No thank you. Good luck to you Bella Mia. You’re going to need it.

"Maybe in your country"-Racist comments directed at us. Went here on the 14 July. We sat outside as it was a sunny day. We sat on two tables so we could both face the sun. The owner came outside as asked us to occupy one table. We politely explained that we both wanted to face the sun and asked if that was okay. The owner said yes. When he brought our food out he told us very rudely "you need to move now". We moved to one table and i politely said to the owner that there is a polite way to talk to customers. The owner kept on being rude. The couple who sat next to us were given olive oil and seasoning without them having to ask-we were not. The owner also took my plate without asking if i was finished. The food was good and the portions were generous. We went inside the restaurant to pay. After we paid, the owner followed us outside, continually asking us "where are you from?". We ignored the comments, and he then said "Maybe in your country, people sit on two tables". We pointed out the racist comment and the caucasian couple sat next to us were visibly mortified that we were treated this way. Irrespective of the fact myself and the person with me were born and raised in the UK and speak with English accents, the fact that an owner of an establishment (themselves a migrant to the UK) saw fit to make racist comments was shameful, disgusting behaviour. Finchley (and London in general) is a diverse area and we should treat fellow human beings with respect. I am always keen to support local, independent businesses (especially when they are family owned) but I will not be coming to this establishment again. Thankfully, Finchley is not short of Italian restaurants and friendly, warm business owners.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to, ordered the seafood spaghetti topped up with parmesan cheese. Great food experience.

The most perfectly cooked pasta and deliciously light garlic bread we have had in a very long time. Wonderful service, chilled atmosphere. We had a late lunch/early dinner. Highly recommend the Penne Arrabbiata or the Spaghetti with roast veg and goats cheese. Wish we lived closer so we could go often.

VERY RUDE OWNER / MANAGER Ordered via Uber Eats, and we had an issue with our address. Rang the restaurant to give them the correct address and said that they would let the driver know, and it would be fine. Food was delivered to the wrong address, got in contact with the restaurant again, and the lady on the phone was helpful and apologised and asked for us to contact Uber Eats. Which was fine with us and ended the conversation. The manager / owner then decided to ring me back to shout down the phone, telling us how it was all our fault. Was and very rude and showed a complete lack of respect to a customer. Will never order from here again.

This wonderful restaurant is just amazing; be it a celebration or just a cheeky pop in, you'll always be made welcome and looked after.

Brilliant Italian food. I've driven past this restaurant for many years and finally decided to book a table. We were not disappointed. The pasta was fresh and service was amazing. Also the tiramisu was incredible!!!! Looking forward to taking family there over the Christmas period.

Wow such tasty pizza! It was very late at night - the restaurant was about to close i think, but the very nice man said he could do us a pizza to take away. It was beautiful pizza. So very tasty and fresh. We will definitely come back again for a nice sit down meal 🥰

Last week me and my partner came to this restraunt for a late night pizza. We where sat in the back of the restraunt whilst there was a free table in the front. Which was slightly anoying as its not as nice in the back. The food was served fairly fast and was pretty good. The food didnt feel heavy.

Couldn’t ask for a better experience, not only is the food of the upmost quality but the staff are amazing and friendly, the setting is cosy & family friendly and my belly is never left disappointed.

Really lovely, proper Italian food. Friendly staff, even when it's quiet or busy. There's the usual pictures of Gina, Frank and the Godfather everywhere, but it's homely rather than kitsch. Do visit.

The food was incredible from starters to dessert. We went as a group of 5 and everyone enjoyed their dishes. I had a prawn spaghetti which was delicious. It’s gorgeous family run restaurant which is well worth a visit.

Amazing family restaurant, delicious food Gluten free pizza crispy no different taste as usual pizza i can recommend for 100% .My boyfriend had seafood pasta 6 stars from 5. Wine card was very impressive too. We will be definitely back again.

Had an amazing dinner. The owners are super nice and very friendly. The Caprese was amazing and fresh. The Spaghetti Bolugnese was amazing and it felt like I was back in Italy. Hope if you have time I would hope in and try it. Before I go home I want to try the pizza next. Update: I went back and and ate here another 4 times. I love this place and the people that run it are amazing.

The pasta lacked flavour . Is not worth the price a microwave meal tastes better .

Staffs are welcoming as usual. Calamari is fresh! Last time I tried their pasta, lasagna was wonderful. This time I tried their pizzas, good varieties to choose from. Savoury ones are better than desserts in my opinion

Im from USA and was visiting London. I ordered spaghetti bolognese from Bella Mia...OMG, It was DELICIOUS 😋. I could taste the freshness. Not frozen ingredients and not greasy, just perfect 👌

Second visit here with my friend. Delicious wine, pizza and the salad was so good, my friend ordered a second!

Went yesterday evening with family and so enjoyed it I returned this evening with an old friend. Although from this area, I now live abroad and this restaurant is ideal for a relaxed place to enjoy good food, wine and relaxed atmosphere in which to catch up, enjoy freshly cooked and beautifully presented food in this friendly, family run restaurant. They are open also at lunchtime. Oh, almost forgot, the house wine is a delicious Montepulciano! Desserts looked good, but we were too full up.

Our favorite pizza place! We get it delivered and absolutely love it. Every pizza we’ve ordered has been so tasty and fresh.

The owner have a such bad energy if he prepared my food ill get cancer, saw him being disgusting disrespectful with riders from delivery companys, in average i got a bad experience.

So happy this place is back, it seemed to go really downhill during the pandemic, the standard of the food seemed to take a real hit but that is all in the past they seemed to have come back with a bang and are now producing superior food to their closest competitors

Great to have this little local Italian banging out good food again, was genuinely concerned this place would close during the pandemic as standards slipped but it is back to its best and mile better than Sam giorgios on the other side of the road

I use to be a regular takeaway customer, but in the last few times I was very disappointed, pizza margherita without Basil, risotto porcini mushrooms and tartufo came with out tartufo and with regular mushrooms I maybe found 3 or 4 porcini Mushrooms in the risotto

Unfortunately my carbonara was awful (sauce tasted like the jar one and really strange 'pancetta') - had to bin it. It's a shame as my aunt really recommended this place.

Excellent food - was fresh and hot. If you want prawns shell-free, remember to ask in note to restaurant. Also if you want Parmesan - was the main thing missing. Would order again.

I write this review with a heavy heart because I love Bella mia. It was the first restaurant we ate at when we moved to the area 5 years ago and we were so delighted we'd found a really good local Italian. Over the course of the next few years the place started to make me feel sad, it's always near empty while most of the other local Italians are full, a big reason for this is the food, it's gone down hill rapidly and been eclipsed by others. The pizzas are ok but the pasta is the big issue, my carbonara just tasted like cream, none of the other flavours came through. The mozzarella balls were full of water/oil where the cheese had begun to separate. I will continue to support Bella Mia as they are our locals and much nicer people than at funghetto or San Giorgio but they need to arrest the slide in food quality and start caring ASAP before they lose my custom entirely

Best pizza it’s almost as good as being in Italy!

Food was prompt, hot, and the toppings were pretty generous/high quality. The base/crust was a bit of a let down, pretty chewy, took a bit of tearing to get into it. Maybe we ordered too early and got yesterdays cast offs? >.<

This Italian restaurant it by far the best place I've eaten in in a long time. Brought back so many happy memories of Finchley 60 to 70 years ago. Lovly young lady who served and took an interest in my story. Very well cooked and served lunch. I will be going back in the future, it's a real find!

Ordered a calzone and a vegetarian. Food arrive promptly and hot! Basically the only complaint is that the base of the calzone in the middle got hella soggy and the onion on the vegetable pizza was a little large. But we've had ice cold food from places much closer, so great experience overall.

Pizzas were as always absolutely delicious. So fresh and tasty and still roasting hot when they were delivered. The driver tracking is a great tool also

The pizzas were great - still steaming hot! And Bella Mia have always delivered well before the projected delivery time. Only issue was the gatto e volpe pizza was meant to have artichokes on it and there weren't any... hopefully next time we order they'll be back on!

El ciclista de Deliveryoo se olvidó de incluir el Prosecco con mis artículos, así que llamé al restaurante directamente y pregunté qué había sucedido, y el restaurante fue tan comprensivo y se disculpó que me pidieron que pidiera algo pequeño y luego obtendrían las burbujas que faltaban y tirarían una botella de casa gratis para pedir un perdón extra. Pedí la pasta de hongos que necesitaba un toque más hierbas pero estaba delicioso y la bruschetta era simplemente perfecta. Ese no fue un buen comienzo para la noche.Fue una velada completamente decepcionante. Somos "locales" que hemos cenado en Bella Mia en varias ocasiones. . . pero, me temo, ¡nunca más!

En primer lugar, no saben cocinar italiano, ya que este NO ES UN auténtico restaurante ITALIANO. Sirven agua fría en platos fríos. Cuando devolví mi plato principal muy cortésmente, el jefe de camareros me reprendió públicamente y en profundidad. Decir que necesita capacitación en habilidades de servicio al cliente sería generoso con él, ya que la realidad es que está más allá de la ayuda. Verdaderamente pésimo servicio de un matón discutidor y abusivo y la comida estaba muy por debajo del promedio. Para agregar al ambiente general de una noche horrible, el chef estaba quemando aceite rancio que apestaba al restaurante y a nosotros. Luego, cuando el chef estaba quemando comida y el restaurante era una cortina de humo, el encantador jefe de camareros dijo que era nuestra culpa ya que estaba lidiando con nuestra queja. ! ! ! ! El mejor consejo: no VAYAS AQUÍ y Bella Mia despida al camarero / Gerente o pronto descubrirás que estás fuera del negocio.

Fui a pasar una buena noche con mis amigos. La actitud del camarero fue indignante. Me temo que tiene mucho que aprender sobre el servicio al cliente. El primer plato de calamares y calabacín frito era muy pobre. El plato principal fue aún peor. Mi comida era salada y la comida de mis amigos no era comestible.Mientras estaba allí, la cocinera quemó la comida y todos nos ahogamos con el humo de la cocina. Traté de entablar una conversación razonable con el camarero, pero fue imposible. Nos quedamos con un olor a humo quemado en la ropa y totalmente disgustados con el servicio y la comida.Fue excepcionalmente grosero.

Quería una pizza takaway en este momento difícil. (COVID-19 ) . . Luchamos normalmente porque no podemos comer ajo. Afortunadamente, esto no fue un problema, ya que podrían vivir sin él. Tres pizzas para llevar por 30 y estaba lista en 10 minutos para su recogida. Claramente, esta no fue una noche ocupada para ellos, pero volvería en un instante. Buen servicio, puntual y educado en la recogida. Gran pizza también. Hemos comido en este restaurante antes y el servicio también fue bueno, pero no escribí una reseña en ese momento. ¡Fue entonces cuando nos dejaron salir! Bien hecho Bella Mia

Decidimos que necesitábamos algo durante el encierro, y toda la familia quería una auténtica pizza italiana. En la recolección, el personal fue amable y las pizzas estaban deliciosas. También recomiendo encarecidamente la guarnición de frijoles franceses: ¡encantador y con ajo!Volveré a usar, y espero visitar el restaurante cuando vuelva a abrir.

Food arrived quickly. I ordered a pasta dish which was supposed to be a mixture of seafood with pasta, but the seafood included barely 1 prawn, a handful of squid and the rest was mussels. I would have expected some fish, more than one prawn and a lot less mussels....

A really lovely restaurant for a traditional Italian meal. Family friendly. Delicious food. The garlic pizza bread with tomato & pesto is superb.

Came here with the family for a lunch as we all love Italian food, and Bella Mia didn't disappoint. Big portions of tasty food at reasonable prices, with lovely inside decor - simply can't complain!

Portion size for the price quite small, so food was tasty but not value for money. Wish they did more vegetarian/halal options. Food was ready at collection time.

The antipasti Misto was disgusting. For £8.95 I expected more than cheap meat, the tiniest piece of rubbery mozzarella and once slice of grilled courgette. The salad was tired iceberg lettuce which I didn’t eat. Pizza was good.
