Having eaten in many Italian restaurants, including in Italy, I find it near impossible to find a decent Italian restaurant. However, the food and atmosphere is as good as being in Italy. The food: Always delicious. I've eaten here more times than I can remember. I've never had a bad meal. The dishes are all full of taste with generous portions. Everything is homemade and tasting amazing. The service: The owner Fabio is a true host. He is friendly, welcoming and always happy to recommend and help you choose. Despite being busy he makes time to come to your table and say hello. Atmosphere: A restaurant with every table full, all smiling, laughing and often regulars, what more can you ask for. In my opinion you will love this restaurant. Everyone I have introduced has come again and repeatedly loved it.

Bien, yo estaba equivocado! Este lugar es una joya. La comida es buena y abundante, a un precio muy asequible. He estado dos veces y volver y probar más de la carta!

El actual escenario es sucio, con una mezcla de actores italianos pintados en estuco de yeso y fotos en blanco y negro de Al Pacino en Scarface. . . Moda derecho?. Bien es peor. . . El menú es vaga, empecemos con vinos. . .

I have been coming here for years and always recommend for my friends and family to pay a visit! The owners and staff are great and the food is very good quality! Pictures of Italian celebrities on the wall and other displays really give a good atmosphere.

I had dinner here with a group of friends. The negative was that there were ten of us squeezed round a table comfortable for six. However, that was more than made up for by delicious food, good and friendly service and very keen prices. If I had not been driving I could have enjoyed the limoncello, peach schnapps and sambucca that we were offered.

Great venue. Brilliant atmosphere and superb food. The portions were huge and sooo tasty. Would definitely recommend a visit. The staff were very attentive and the food was brought out promptly.

We have eaten here a few times and really enjoy the food, traditional Italian but with quite a few novel twists and everything cooked to perfection. The service is also lovely, friendly and super-efficient at the same time. Last night's top hits were a delicious king prawn and clam pasta, brilliant fritto misto and the best sauté potatoes I have eaten in years. All in all a very, very nice unassuming place.

This was my second visit and 5 of us had a great time as well as great food, the gigantic pizzas are the tastiest l have had in London ever. They make a fuss of you if it's your birthday. All the staff are helpful and friendly. We got some complimentary monkey nut as well as lemoncello and the birthday girl had a bottle of wine to take home. We will be back.

My flat mates and I came here a few months ago having stumbled across it as we live nearby and had a great evening and so we decided to come again for a leaving meal. The food as before was delicious, the staff were friendly and fun, and what made our night was when the birthday music came on for another diner and the staff got every table involved. The lights were dimmed, music cranked up and everyone was on their feet having a dance! The Lemoncello they give us after our meals is the cherry on the cake. We will definitely come again! 22-27 year old male and female actors

Good food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere. I visit family in the area 5-6 times a year and stop here for either lunch or dinner. The pizza is great but I have also enjoyed the calamari or simple grilled chicken with salad and fries. Simple food cooked well. Highly recommended.

Second Christmas Eve here (plus visits in the year) and we just love it.Great food, staff and atmosphere - especially at Christmas. And also amazing value for money!! Such a good local to have, honestly can't fault it.

Love this place!, came with the family for my birthday lunch, the service here is always top notch, food is very good, love the pizza. you are guaranteed to have a good time at D'Artita! the free limonchello, fruit, cake and chocolate just add to the good service, they really want to make you have a good time. Don't expect silver service this is a small Italian so expect not everything is perfect but be sure to have a good time with good food, fun and service.

We had dinner at this local trattoria & were impressed with the standard of the food- huge, super thin & crispy pizzas that could have come straight out of Italy, generous portioned mains at reasonable prices followed by a complimentary fruit plate to share & a bottle of limoncello to help ourselves to afterwards- we will return for certain!

I found myself lost and hungry with my girlfriend in North London. Having parked up, we walked into the Restaurant. Having thought OTT décor to begin with it warmed on me as the food arrived.The pizza when it arrived piping hot, tasted just as, if not better than it looked which was wonderful.To my surprise, 2 drinks, 2 mains, 2 coffees and just under £30. Will definitely be going back.

Wow wow wow wow, what a find!!!! I went to Il Tocco D'Artista to eat with some friends on Saturday evening and as soon as I walked in the door, I was transported back to Italy! The atmosphere was brilliant, the food was just amazing and soooo tasty, my mouth is watering now just thinking about it! The portions were very generous, it was good value for money and the added free extras of fruit, nuts and Limoncello were a lovely touch and all went down very well! The staff were really friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them, I just could not fault a single thing! Il Tocco D'Artista is my new favourite restaurant and I cannot reccomend it highly enough and I just can't wait to go back, Buon Appetito!!!!

The food was ok, as was the service.The surprise came however when I checked the bill as I always do. The total shown at the bottom of the bill was not the sum of the amounts listed above. When I asked why this was I was told by the waiter "the total includes a service charge".This is obviously done to catch honest trusting people out and fool them into leaving them a tip twice - not a nice way to treat their customers.I wonder how many times they have got away with it, well it didn't work this time and we won't be going back.

I've been to this restaurant three times. Once as a group, second with my two teenage children and third (recently) with a friend as it was her suggestion.On two occasions the food was mediocre and on the third it was awful. The only reason I didn't complain was that my daughter asked me not to. The waiters are somewhat over the top in that they don't let you alone and kept arriving with things, albeit free, that we didn't want; a plate of nuts, fruit, peach liquor. All we wanted was decent food without the fuss. It's probably a good place for a crowd who want to get drunk, which the waiter did on our first visit!

I went there with my husband and 2 kids - 1 and 4 yr old and we had such a great time! The staff were so friendly, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We ordered pasta and pizza, both very generous portions. The dessert was a little disappointing, chocolate/vanilla ice cream with chocolate cake. It was mostly covered in lots of cream with not a lot of cake. The kids ate well and the staff were very attentive and all were Italian speaking which made the whole experience feel very authentic. Complimentary fruit and lemon liqueur was lovely but wasn't keen on the monkeys nuts. Will definitely be going again!

We phoned on the Saturday morning to book a table for 5 at 7:15 that evening. The service was friendly, attentive and fast. There was a good selection of Italian basics: standard pasta dishes, large pizzas spilling over the edges of the plates, classic meat and fish. We had pasta and pizza. All our food was good and authentic, and excellent value. Highly recommended for good-value, basic authentic Italian cuisine.

Brilliant cosy and warm - you will forget you are in London! The staff really make us welcome. They even grab your hand and dance the night away!! Let's not forget the superb quality of food. And if it's not on the menu, they will do their best to get you what you want. An all round 5* experience!

The pizza is really good, the decor is a bit over the top (with autographed pictures of celebrities everywhere), the staff is very nice and they obviously care At the end of the dinner they put on everyone's table a bottle of limoncello - you can drink how much you want, for free!

Today, I took my Foodie Group to Tocco d'Artista in N. Finchley. They have an amazing lunchtime deal, whereby for the princely sum of £6.49, you can choose any pasta or pizza on the menu, together with a drink....which can be a soft one, wine or coffee.I ordered the Pizza La Scapigiata and an enormous pizza arrived, overlapping the plate and which no-one thought I'd finish. However, it was so delicious, with generous serving of prosciutto, that I managed to clear my plate. The pasta al vongole was also much appreciated by two our our guests, as was a Pizza Americana and another pasta dish. I chose a glass of red house wine, which was smooth and complimented the meal.I must also mention that the service was charming and we were all very happy with it. Terrific value and we'll certainly return.

Been here a couple of times now. Found the food to be really nice and it was good value too. A nice calm local restaurant I would defiantly recommend.

When you arrive there are some offered good olives on the table just to start. The waiters will arrive immediately to take your order and you don't need to wait for ever! I didn't really like tge rosemary bread as i couldn't taste tge rosemary but just tge garlic... But anyway risotti and pastas are excellent and the portions are very kind!I suggest risotto with seafood. The salads are OK as well. And when you finish to eat... They will bring for free pinenuts, a small portion of fruit and a bottle of good Italian limoncello! And not finish... When you ask the count also chocolate!!! So a super kind restaurant with a nice Italian atmosphere and super good food... Everything said by an Italian!!!

Visited this Restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Had Minestrone soup to start which was a little disappointing as it was not really authentic but did taste nice. The mains were more authentic and very tasty. Were given a few extras before and after the meal which were welcomed and appreciated. Overall it was very pleasant and the cost was reasonable.

Been coming to this restaurant for a while now after my friends parents recommend it. The food is amazing! Have been here a few times and I really like the food so do all my friends that have come with me. The pasta is cooked just right and the pizza is really tasty although I find the portions massive (not a bad thing) . There are times that you might be waiting a while to be served but it is a small family run restaurant.

What can I say, great place, great food and great staff. The pizzas are HUGE and their pasta is beyond yummy. My husband works near here so we often meet here for lunch and we have never been disappointed.

The was our first visit — but surely not our last — to Il Tocco d’Artista. We had not actually intended to eat here but after a mix-up with a booking for a different Italian restaurant we were lucky to get the last table for four on a busy Saturday evening. We sensed that it was a good choice as soon as we walked in. The place was occupied by groups of three to six people who were clearly all having a good time — happily chatting among themselves but without creating the unpleasantly high level of noise often experienced in busy Italian restaurants. The background music helped to create a Mediterranean air, and one of my companions said that the ambience was such that he could imagine we were dining in a trattoria in Sorrento. As designated driver I was disappointed that the restaurant does not serve any alcohol-free beer, so I stuck to tap water, while my companions enjoyed the modestly priced house white wine. Nice touches were that the wine arrived in a wine cooler and the tap water was served with ice and lemon. All our food was excellent. For our main courses, two of us ordered pizzas, which turned out to be 15in in diameter, served on 13in plates. Since we were sitting opposite each other and the table was only 24in wide, eating was at first a little awkward, with the pizzas not only overhanging the edge of the plates but also sticking out from the edge of the table! My own pizza choice was Pizza Nettuno — a traditional cheese-less seafood pizza that I have not eaten for a while because it does not feature on the menus of other Italian restaurants we visit locally. Despite its size, I managed to finish it because the bread base was superb and the topping of tuna, capers, olives, etc, was delicious. The serving staff were pleasant and efficient and seemed to be enjoying their work. After we ordered our desserts we were given complimentary limoncello in ice-cold shot glasses, followed by two other liqueurs. “Well, it is Saturday night,” said the waitress by way of explanation. “Il Tocco d’Artista" means “the artist’s touch”, and there were certainly some artistic touches to the service we received. When the bill arrived (accompanied by chocolates) the figures scribbled on it did not seem to bear much relationship to the prices we had seen on the menu but the total seemed reasonable for what we had had consumed, so we happily paid up.

Visited with 6 family members on a Friday evening, such a friendly welcoming atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious! The pizzas are fantastic! Felt incredibly relaxed and looked after, we were at the table for 3 hours as it was so enjoyable... Would definitely return and recommend!

Certo sono italiani.Ho provato la pizza (economicissima per essere a Londra) delle linguine al pesto (basilico freschissimo porzione e condimento abbondanti) il tiramisù (buono buono buono) e per finire sempre e rigorosamente limoncello ghiacciato. Ora... Cosa c'entra il pizzaiolo??? Simpatico napoletano sessantenne( ma ne dimostra 50) con il quale scambiare due chiacchiere a fine serata se avete nostalgia dell'Italia. Il resto è tutto da "scoprire"

This is a pleasant small friendly place with an outgoing host and the décor and menu of a 1960s trattoria.. Four of us were on a table for six - important as you will see. I had risotto with mushrooms and seafood sauce; very bland and so hot it must have been in a microwave. My wife had a veal dish; tasty but a small portion. It came without any vegetables so if you add these it becomes an expensive dish for a local eaterie.. A friend had a pasta dish which she said was tasty. The star of the show was the other friend's pizza; so large he had to move to the other end of the table to eat it. It had a delicious thin base and was generously topped with his choice of ingredients. Certainly a winner.I would return to have a pizza but not for anything else.

This is a great little place with an Italian atmosphere as soon as you walk in.The starters were amazing- loved the garlic bread and rosemary bread with the mushrooms.Mum and bros pizzas were very nice and especially y calzone.Dads salmon was perfection. the quality of the food is definitely worth the price.Bottle of lemocello at the end and ice cold shot glasses to cleanse the pallet was just what you needed.This our new favourite Italian place

The best Italian food I have had in London. From the moment you walk in it feels like an authentic Italian family restaurant. The majority of the customers were Italian and talking merrily with the staff in Italian. We had the calzone pizza and a pasta dish with broccoli, a tomato sauce and Italian sausage. Both dishes were excellent. The portions are a good size. At the the end of the meal we were given a bottle of lemon cello, a nice addition. The bill came to about £35 for 2 mains and a bottle of the house red. Would highly recommend, the only problem is its the other side of London to where I live.

I regularly go here with my family as the food is fantastic and very reasonable. Pizzas are huge and well-topped and the lunchtime deal at 5.95 for main and soft drink is unbeatable. The staff are very friendly and always accommodate my husband's odd pizza topping requests!I love the fact that they give you free fruit, monkey nuts and limoncello after your meal!

This is the best little find of an Italian around here by a long shot. They do a comprehensive lunch menu, which includes a drink for £6.45p! The pasta is like "something Mamma would make". There is a great selection and no matter if it is a party of 2 or 20 they cope magnificently and all the orders come out at once. More often than not, no need to book either, just turn up. The staff are delightful. Honest too, a friend left a handbag there and they kept it for safekeeping. An absolute must if you're in the area.

It all started off tasting good as the 1st was nicely seasoned but then the mains came (risotto and Milanese) and sadly the flavours were bland & if you had blindfolded yourself it would have been hard to tell what the flavours were meant to be! My suggestion would be to try Rugaleto a few doors along which is better and has more atmosphere

The owners and chef are from Sardinia if I remember correctly and very friendly! The pizzas were huge and very authentic! They had a nice selection of decent wines and i am definitely going back soon for a bite! Cosy little place!

Went on my own with my 3 year old son on Mothers Day as a treat. Although was busy, the staff could not have made myself and my son feel more at home. My Son got a wonderful spaghetti and I had a lovely fish dish from the specials menu. They never overlooked us despite numerous bigger parties (they were attentive to everyone as far as I could see) and truely nothing was too much trouble. They offered and I accepted doggy bags, due to the very generous portions, which made the lunch also supper. You don't get better value than that.!With lovely extra touches at the end, such as letting my son go and choose his own ice cream and a Limoncello for me, It really was lovely.I will go back whenever I can and recommend. I will be back and cannot recommend highly enough.

My family and I have been coming here for years and have also introduced the place to friends, The food is delicious, fast, great quality and fantastic value. We have a restaurant as our own family business and as food lovers at the end of the day when the last thing you want to do is cook we end up here. The owners and staff take their time look after you and make sure you are happy. Its great for families, young children, romantic evenings still maintaining a very homey local feel about it. We will be going for many years to come.

Went to this restaurant twice in one week and what a contrast. First time was 2 of us for the lunch special which was excellent value and the pizza was huge and very nice. Pasta portion was smallish but still good value for the price. Second time was in the evening. 4 of us had starters and the portions were large, but for mains 3 of us ordered veal in a sauce, which wasn't cheap, vegetables were extra and we needed a magnifying glass the see the veal hidden underneath a plate full of sauce. Although the food was full of flavour, I think they have a cheek charging full price for half portions. Much earlier write ups say the mains are huge - either they're reviewing a different restaurant or this restaurant has changed a lot in the last few months. We didn't get any free bread either. After the meal they give you Lemoncello, fruit and nuts (according to ad in paper) but we only got the Lemoncello and had to ask for the fruit - we didn't get any nuts. I may return to this restaurant, but only for lunch.

I was really happy to find such a lovely restaurant not far from where I live, by the way the actual postcode is N12 0EY not 0EA. The first time I visited the restaurant was for a quick lunch with a friend, the staff was really friendly and the overall look of the place reflected the traditional atmosphere that you can find in Italy. Two weeks after, I decided to introduce my husband to what I consider to be my 'Italian treasure'; we had dinner there and I was glad to find that the place offers a constant good quality service and great food at all times.Great place for families or dinners with friends, plus they are really generous and always offer nuts and fruits on the house, which is a bonus. Both me and my husband became regular customers of this place and recommend it to all our friends every time we can. My friend decided to organise a little party with our work colleagues after I recommended the place, and the surprises continued, not only is a great place to eat is always a great place to have a great night, lots of dancing and music, the staff did a great job in interacting with clients and inolve all of us in a traditional Italian dance. Convenient. Friendly. Just Great.

I have been there once.Pretty poor. Represents the classic Trattoria that was used to 20 years ago in Italy.Trattoria= was a "restaurant" doesn'tt care at all, where the only people to work were an elderly woman in the kitchen, and the Oste (the husband) to serve food and drinks in procche crock, dressed in a white T-shirt with a lot of straps.The food was homemade and the floor's quality pretty poor.In short, a local who wants to be Professional while serving the Coke cans.Many main courses are frozen.

I went to this small but cosy restaurant for two times and the first time I went with my English boyfriend, I was delighted with service, the waiter was very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent with a good price.Among several options in the region i decided to come back another day with a friend and for my surprise we were super mistreated by the same waiter who was too impatient and rushed us all the time. For pay the bill the waiter proved to be even more impatient because we had problem with the card and we were surprised because our bill was higher then the price in the menu.My deception was great, because I already had plans to return more often.Excellent food, although charging a price different from the menu!

We went to this small local place about two weeks ago on the night we had an enormous snow fall and it was packed.The service good, although we had to wait a little as we arrived at the busiest time. The place is family run and you are made to feel very confortable. Even the decor full of family photographs makes you feel at home.The portions as warned were enormous! The food fresh and homely, without the high sophistication of certain restaurants, but well cooked. We should have shared starters in order to make room for desserts which looked delicious. I did tell them that if they did reduce the portions, they would have more takers for the desserts!

A friend had a small party on the Friday night when she was actually 40 with six of us and then a massive party on the Saturday with about two hundred. Friday night was Il Tocco d'Artista and we had a great time. The king prawns in garlic sauce were absolutely fabulous, we were brought free Limoncello and all the waiters came in together banging drums and holding aloft a massive cake whilst sing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday girl.A memorable and not expensive evening with delicious food.

This is our local restaurant - cheapo and cheerful. where can you get a 3 course meal plus wine, with olives thown in at the beginning and limonchello and fruit thrown in at the end for £20 per4 head or less. To be honest the food isn't progbably more than about 2**, apart from the pizzas wheich are made opn the premises and are great. We went on a Saturday and the place was packed out, but because we're regulars, we always seem to get a seat somewhere. Great for a birthday celebrations - the staff really contribute to the celebration - lots of drum banging and happy birthday music.

Wow! Just wow, i just had the biggest pizza! Was lovely.This place is a little gem. The food and service is fantastic! The menu is varied and prices are very reasonable. The head waiter is amazing and will happily add or change an item if you wish. The interior is italian decor and works very well. Pizzas are freshly tossed and cooked right in front of your eyes. The restaurant is very clean.Ive also heard that during the week lunch is £5 for any pizza or pasta and a drink. Bargain!They even do Pizza Delivery! This is my new fav place!Definately returning to this place.

I am very fortunate to live locally but I have many friends and family who now travel to eat here. I have tried both pizzas and pasta dishes and have never been disappointed. Garlic pizza bread is superb too. Let's not forget the homemade chilli oil :-) If you love good Italian food then you can't go wrong with this place. Great Value, generous portions. Fantastic Restaurant. Small, cozy , great atmosphere. Excellent service and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

What a find,an authentic Italian restaurant in Finchley.Food as you would eat it in Italy.Any of the large choice of dishes are freshly prepared for you. While you wait olives and Italian bread are provided for free.Portions beautifully presently are almost too large and prices reasonable.The service is friendly helpful and efficient and the atmosphere is very relaxed.The restaurant is light and airy.Not surprisingly my wife and I are regulars.They are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
