The place looks great, the servers are very attentive but formal, as it should be for a restaurant of this class, but the food is not my cup of tea. As an italian myself, pizza did not taste great, the toppings were not so bad but the dough is chewy and no cornicione on it. The paccheri al ragu napoletano were not bad, but it severely lacked salt, which for me was a big no no. Passable

Will have to say goodbye to my favourite restaurant in Barnet. I understand that with new management comes fresh eyes. However, the prices went up, the portions got very small, the new menu is much smaller not having different unique options comparing from other Italian restaurants in Barnet / Whetstone. The "today's specials" are not advertised anywhere and quite pricey for "today's specials". No lunch menu, no kids menu anymore. The wine you advertise on the menu is not the one you bring to the table and it's very expensive still. The desert doesn't come with the scope of ice cream anymore. I don't see any difference between you and other Italian restaurant in our city to make me come back. Table very close together with huge seats in between tables. Regretfully, not coming back.

The best restaurant I have been for a long time I have met the owner who I have known for thirty years, the food was outstanding. With a very warm atmosphere shall be going again. Went back today and left even more impressed as were my family The restaurant has a new owner and he and his staff have turned the menu and place around the food is even better than before, better ingredients are being used nice table cloths and linen napkins also a nice ambience and great music in the back ground.

Fab night last night. Went here years ago and that experience was absolutely fine. Last night was definitely on a different level. We normally go down to Whetstone restaurants, when in fact this place knocks spots off them. Much happier, friendly staff... 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I am so happy to see that this place is growing and that the new manager really cares about his customers. The food is superb and the service we had from Jose and Paulo was outstanding. Went to San Giorgio for an 80th birthday party. It was very good. Service and food first class.

Food is good overall but could have a bit more flavor to it. The ratio of leafs to meat in the carpaccio was leaning too heavy on the leafs. The deserts were home made and nice overall, but nothing too exciting. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The music sounded too much like elevator waiting music and a bit too loud.

Best place to eat in whetstone guys, authentic Italian cuisine and atmosphere with plenty of al fresco options. Staff are amazing and friendly and the way they talk about food you know it's a passion.

One of my favourite restaurants in London, I have been several times with friends and family. A large, traditional Italian place, clean and well-organised, presided over by its (new) owner Paulo (Giorgio himself moved off in early 2024). I’ve only ever ordered pizzas – because they are so good! One of my friends says the pizzas are the best he has had anywhere, and while I think that may be taking things a bit far, they are excellent. There is a long list of pizzas, and a much longer list of traditional Italian dishes, with and without pasta - enough choice to satisfy anyone. My friends who have ordered traditional dishes say they are very good. Paulo and his staff are friendly and efficient, though maybe don’t choose this venue if you are in a big hurry. Finally, it is good value for money. I’ll be back there is a few weeks’ time!

Our family had a great time my little boy found out how much he loves spaghetti (he’s 1 & 1/2) Great wine to go with delicious food! Pizzas are fantastic but the whole menu needs to be tasted for sure! Service is alway amazing here so much love for the staff

Visited last night with a group of friends. We were very well looked after, the food was good, we had a variety of dishes. Would recommend.

Extensive and interesting menu. Explained to the waiter that I was intolerant to onion and garlic and ordered a modified version of the halibut. When it arrived it was missing the ‘bed of spinach’. I asked for the spinach which was brought eventually. Took a mouthful and it was full of garlic. Took a while to get the attention of the waiter who replaced it with plain spinach, by which time the fish was cold. No apology. One of our party of 5 was still waiting for her main dish as was brought something she did’t order, and had to wait for the correct dish, which was incorrect yet again when it arrived. The more senior waiter came to check and I explained that despite my telling them my food sensitivities, I was brought something with garlic, which would cause me to have an upset stomach. He joked and asked if I needed an ambulance. No apology. Didn’t seem to care.

Excellent, no real complaints at. Only small thing was that while it was pretty reasonably priced, my starter (which was asparagus with goats cheese) cost more than a main course! Otherwise the food was really good. My tortellini di zucca (pictured) was superb. A great local restaurant that deserves to be supported and definitely would recommend.

The gorgonzola pizza is highly recommended! The dough is delicious, the ingredients are high quality and the tomato paste is very good. For its part, the chilli salami pizza is too greasy, personally I didn't like it for that reason. The service is very good, the pizzas arrive very quickly.

Best pizza ever in London! If you want to have the real Italian pizza, here is the right place to go. Also, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is very kind and available. I really recommend!

Cassata. For 30 years I've used Italian restaurants, religiously asked for Cassata (even the ice-cream variant would do) and been told various reasons/excuses for them not having it. Last night at San Georgio restaurant in Finchley I finally heard a "yes" for the ice-cream variant. Good food, good service, good prices and good Cassata. Bravissimo!

My guest and I found this restaurant to be perfect for a relaxed dine-in experience for the following occasions: solo dine in, couples dine in/date night and small group gatherings. The staff were friendly and charismatic and the quality of the Pizza met our high expectations with ease. The music was tasteful, not too loud and created a relaxed atmosphere which allowed us to enjoy good food in peace. It was my first time here and I can confirm that this restaurant is worth another visit. I look forward to dining here again and sharing the experience San Giorgio offers with more friends/family.

Very friendly staff, accommodating a large party of 10 people. The food was good, and protons were generous.

Meeting of relatives for lunch, 10 of us from different parts of the world. We had a great lunch. Wine was good and service great. We were placed in a part of the restaurant away from other diners which was great as we did not disturb other customers. The staff and owner were fantastic and they did not rush us. Everyone was very happy with the choice of restaurant and food. I would recommend this restaurant.

Superb! We had a table of 9 of varying ages - and everyone commented how good it was. My favourite starter of Avacado and prawns was the best I've ever had - but all the meals were excellent - really fresh and tasty. Service was equally good - so made for a really enjoyable family evening. My first visit (despite have gone past there a zillion times) - will definitely be coming back!

Got to the restaurant and upon entry I was rushed, the 2 male servers rushed me and my guest all night, even dropping some cutlery as they were rushing.. I didn’t feel welcomed at all and the chicken was undercooked.. I’ll never be coming back again. Very bad service, even after paying the bill no one said thank you or good bye as we left!!

We always eat well when we visit at St. Giorgio and the service is excellent. My only slight criticism would be with the constant, irritating, salsa type music being played in the background. A slice of Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin would get my vote.

The best Italian in the area. The pizza here made me think of "San Giorgio" as synonymous with "going out for pizza tonight". Amazing food, from pizza to pastas, and seafood starters that I've tried. The owner is a welcoming fella who makes sure the staff look after you the moment you step inside. Very good selection of drinks too, including non-alcoholic options. Wonderful place and I cannot wait for my next visit!

Authentic Italian restaurant with authentic Italian hospitality. The Gamborini Venezia was delicious

The restaurant was closing at 11 and we did arrive at 10, they did served us but I preferred not to. They started to throw cutleries and menus at the table very roughly, asking straight away what we want, started to make “jokes” to let us understand we needed to eat a bit fast. Once arrive the food, they kept coming to check on our place while we were eating to see how long we missing to finish. Keep asking us everything ok? But the way it was asked it wasn’t certainly because of caring of the service actually was another method to rush us, they asked about 3/4 times per place, no even time to answer the waiter said GOOD! In a proper rude tone impossible to confuse. HE WAS NOT CHECKING TO BE NICE AT ALL!! once finished straight away removed everything from the table again with such a rough method in two people 4 hands! The way we felt uncomfortable is not easy to describe, almost unsafe. I would have preferred them to not accept us at the restaurant in first place. I couldn’t eat the pasta because of how I was feeling I left all of it personally. Also the fish was tasking the same taste as everything. was frozen and unfrozen but for sure tasteless. Really don’t recommend at all.

Visited San Giorgio in the past week one evening and it was fairly busy.Great food but the rest is downhill absolutely no hospitality. Not what one would say acceptable behaviour and attitude by owner Giorgio very unprofessional . Observed rudeness to staff and not polite tone and manner to customers, we actually lost count how many times he raised his voice to two waiters who were absolutely rushing around in the restaurant while we were seated and also talking down to customers in a aggressive manner on occasion because he seemed completely stressed out, not exactly the type of hospitality that customers want to experience when you come to relax and enjoy and pay for a decent meal and service. We were recommend this restaurant by our friends who are well known in the football industry at the football association and FIFA and as I act as legal counsel on occasion for the football industry . They recommended the restaurant and informed me the the owner is well known to them for many years and normally have relaxing lunches at San Giorgio for privacy as it is convenient and local. Great food no doubt but we won’t be back and to see staff scared of their boss and absolutely micromanaged and being watched over every second is something i and my guests were shocked to see. The table adjacent to ours told us they are regulars and normally it is no such a tense atmosphere when busy and not as bad not as it was on our visit as their son is normally there and is more organised and calmer but unfortunately his son was off when visited . We won’t be back and nothing more to it. There are many great restaurants in London where service and hospitality is far better. No doubt great food at San Giorgio but that is the only great thing.Maybe because our friends our are well known in football industry the service and experience they receive must be as VIP clients. Service charge should be on the bill for good service and we should have choice to reward based on the service, food and enjoyment and atmosphere.

Great but slightly pricey Italian

We ordered a series of food and found it was clean, flavoursome, and well seasoned. The vegetarian options are to die for, and I'm a meat eater. The seafood options doesn't disappoint 🍕 options are bellissimo, divine 🍕 The owner uses fine good quality produce, which is evident when you take your first bite. Drinks - a lovely list of the usual (White & Red wine, Beer, Hot drinks, 🍷🍺☕️🧃etc); plus Cocktails & Mocktails 🍹🍸

Great service but with average food. Service was great - quick, efficient and attentive. They look after your table well. If your table is empty then they go check the status of next dishes, they top up your water and wine frequently etc. Food was average. Spaghetti con vongole was such a let down. It had WAY TOO MUCH grated garlic, you can see grated garlic coating spaghetti as if it was parmesan. All you can taste is garlic, overkilling flavour from clams. Overall 5 star for service, 2 star for food with huge disappointment on my pasta.

The Italian food was very good indeed

A really BAD experience. The service was diabolical 1 hour a d 45 minutes to receive our meals. No acknowledgement or apology, for this. The manager was extremely rude to us. We were a group of us and we all felt strongly, that we would never return. The food was mediocre. After waiting that long, the food was not even hot.

Manager rude. Table booked for 8pm and food was served at 9.45pm. No apology from the manager nor any of the staff. Will never go back. Plenty other Italian restaurants

There is a sort of Italian intensity about this place that, being very English, I don't know how to deal with. The food is good, with a varied menu and good portions. But somehow I feel inadequate. Unable to be who I need to be to eat here. Sorry, this is a bit personal, I do apologise.

the owner/manager called Lorenzo very rude. The worst service of my life. Food made in burnt oil! I wasted my time and money! On Mother's Day, instead of enjoying lunch, I was very upset.

I just absolutely love this wholesome restaurant. Hadn't been in a while and Georgio and his son welcomed us back with such warmth. Georgios son, also remembered my dads name (Andrew) and it's little heart warming touches like this that mean the world to us. The food was spectacular. Made with love. From the moment we sat. It was magical. Never change x

Food is always lovely. I ordered the steak last time though and it took ages like 45+ mins. Maybe they were looking for the cow, I don't know. Tasted good tho.

Visited on 13th November 2022 GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE ! We celebrated my wife’s birthday party here and 18 of us all had such a great time as the food and service was excellent ! Every single starter and main was so tasty and the portions were so large too , including the kids meals . The owner also gave us drinks and extra snacks on the house so all round a fantastic service and everyone who attended said it was the best Italian restaurant they had been to for a long time and we will all be going back again . Thanks so much to the owners Giorgio and Gianni and to all the waiters for making my wife’s birthday extra special !

Last night I went to San Giorgio for the first time, absolutely loved it there! A very pleasant atmosphere and the food was great!

I've been going to San Giorgio for years and have never been disappointed. I went with my wife and son who love this restaurant The atmosphere was great inside. The food was fantastic as always and the service brilliant. Cocktails were super. Really is good value for money. We were stuffed, not even room for a dessert. I had mentioned it was my wife's birthday and they shocked us at the end with a candle lit dessert and sang happy birthday which the other customers joined in. Thank you to Giorgio and staff for a great meal and night out. I would highly recommend this Italian restaurant above all others.
