The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

I ate here tonight with six of my friends for a birthday celebration. We had a lovely round table by the window. The evening was exceptional and I cannot recommend this lovely Italian highly enough. Firstly, the service: The restaurant was very busy with around ten tables occupied. There was one waitress and the manager doing the whole service yet we were treated like Royalty. Service was punctual, friendly and warm with nothing being too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious all round. We started with garlic bread to share, several platters which I know is quite a basic dish but it was the best I’ve ever tasted. Most of us had either veal or chicken plus one ravioli. We all agreed that the quality was superb and was thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be back again soon

The food is severely overpriced for what it is. Waited 2 hours for your food to come out, very disappointed. Apparently the chef didn’t turn up…

What a little gem……my wife and I were in Hexham for the day and called in for lunch, great food and service. Will definitely make the effort to call again.

The most authentic Italian food I've eaten in a long time. Served in a relaxed style, very generous portions and great tasting desserts.

Visited La Bocca on the 6th August while I was on Holiday in Cornwall from Manchester...... I had a wonderful evening with some excellent Food that was absolutely delicious, and in a restaurant with great standards and friendly staff that were extremely helpful.....La Bocca has very much become one of my favourite restaurant's and I ensure that I will be visiting again sometime in future when I am next in Cornwall thank you very much once again La Bocca

Very busy Saturday night but staff were great, helpful and friendly. Food came out quickly. Lovely deep fried potato skins as starter and then one of the best calzones I've had. My wife really enjoyed her spagbol

As we cannot respond to the owners review on our previous review. Thank you for your reply to our one rated review. However, after using your restaurant for years, and having zero issues, we are extremely disappointed with tonight’s outcome. Our advise is, don’t use an online booking service, if your business is quite clearly not able to manage it!

This was one of the more bizarre visits I have had to a restaurant in many years. Spectacularly diabolical!!! The waiter was nice enough but they were out of half of the already tiny list of dishes on offer. It was like “spam, spam or parmigian”! My mate got some gnocchi straight from the supermarket with some cheese only food stamps would buy (the waiter was nice enough to refund this inedible effort). My order of vitello alla Milanese with patate arroste was a big flat lump of breaded meat from a packet complete with... oven chips!! The whole time we had to listen to some bizarre argument in Spanish and Italian between the cook and the waiter. The subject seemed to be how much the former was being paid- he’s been very fortunate to have ever been paid, from what I can see!!

Came here to try out the ice cream. Had vegan chocolate, absolutely delicious. Nice that there was seating and the staff were super friendly. Would definitely go back to try other flavours.

Pizza is always great, love the atmosphere at this venue, such a great space. Ideal for a quick bite on the way home from work. All the staff are super friendly, special thanks to Salvo the last time we visited.

So pleased that we found this little gem in TW. The outside does not do justice to the authentic high quality food this little family restaurant provides. Lovely, friendly owners who are delighted to talk about their food and history. Its very small so probably need to book for dinner. Give it a try.

Randomly stopped in after a long day of travel and didn’t disappoint. Great drinks and excellent food. Pizza was awesome along with speciality pastas.
