La Bocca Looe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Just had our first eat-in meal at La Bocca. The young lady who served us was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The team there made a tomato- and pepper-free pizza for my missus (not the greatest intolerance to visit a pizza restaurant, I grant you, but hey, that's how it is). My inferno pizza with extra cheese and jalapeños was superb and the Shiraz was one of the best I've tasted. Attention to service and cleanliness way up there! Definitely going there again!

We had a meal here in late September both of us had a starter and main course being oats cheese bruschetta,squid,wood fired pizza and gnocchi all dishes were excellently prepared and presented. Definitely recommend

We went on the off chance of a table at 5pm & the place was empty, by 6pm it was heaving! I'm not the worlds biggest pizza fan but they were amazing, so good, we're going back & I'll be having another! Portions are generous & beautifully cooked. Very friendly, helpful & efficient staff & the place has a real buzz about it. Great place to eat!

Ordered a takeaway and it was quickly made in ten minutes. Pizza was bland - plain tomato sauce base, no herbs, not much cheese. My pizza was undercooked. Good size but was expecting better.

5 takeaway pizza’s and a pasta dish all ready in 15 minutes! Excellent friendly service whilst making our order, and when it was ready, the food didn’t disappoint. Thin base pizza’s with fresh ingredients, made for a happy family! Highly recommended.

We ordered a takeaway from here, as we had our dog with us and it isn’t a dog friendly establishment. It was ready quickly and the team member who took our order was friendly and on the ball. The pizza was delicious; cooked on a thin base with fresh ingredients.

Really tasty food, spoiled a bit by the barn-like decor. I get the trimmed down look they were attempting, but this just seemed stark and uncomfortable. As appetisers we ordered the calamari and some olives. The calamari was spot on, tender, hot, served with a garlic mayo dip, v tasty. The olives however were a disappointment, they were soft, and mixed with soggy mushrooms, mushy pepper and garlic cloves. I'm guessing bought in bulk to cut a corner, but avoid, avoid. 4 of us had pizzas, and we were all impressed. They are big, tasty, and with a thin base we prefer, but not extraordinarily good. We'd definitely visit again, but would encourage owners to up the comfort level.

Stayed in Looe for a week and this was by far the best food we eat the whole holiday ! Great food , good service and very reasonable

Located at the end of Looe, just near the end of Market Street. We didn't book, and it was approx 7:30 pm when we arrived - and within half an hour the place was packed. Just as busy for takeaway too. Greeted by a member of staff, who was very polite and offered a nice table. There is a great choice of pizzas and pasta to choose from - and good selection of drinks too. You can see the massive wood fired oven, where the pizzas are cooked. by a young lad called Andrew. When I complimented how nice my pizza was, our waiter ( Joe ) said he would pass on this comment. Joe later said Andrew was pleased with my compliment. There was also a very pleasant young girl, whose name I didn't get ( sorry ) - who was also very polite. There are some slightly negative comments, about how the decor looked - but I don't agree with these. If you want an authentic wood fired pizza - served up by a friendly staff member - then I recommend you eat here.

I’m Italian and I was impressed! Molly was our waitress and she was amazing with our daughter, super helpful, professional, naturally warming to customers and professional. Caitlin was also excellent from behind the bar / front of house! In fact all members of the team were exceptional. Decent food although nothing to really shout about. Pizza was ok and pastas were nice, but a little cheap(ish) and cheerful. Atmosphere was fine despite the interior being a bit basic, but the staff were all excellent. Wouldn't put anyone off visiting and probably being a little overly-critical, just not one of the week's better meals.

We ordered a pizza and a pasta to takeaway, which came to £30. The portion size and overall quality of the food did not reflect this price: the prawn pasta was incredibly small and bland, while the pizza was chewy and over-cooked. With regards to the service, when we arrived to collect our order we were not politely welcomed, but bluntly told we were 9 minutes early. Fair enough that it wasn’t ready - we were early - but some element of politeness would have been appreciated, especially given the fact we acknowledged we were early (and apologised for it) and explained we were simply letting them know we’d arrived for when the food was ready. Would not recommend and would not go again.

Family of 4. The restaurant gets busy early on. Strangely there is little pizza competition in Looe. Wood fired pizza but to be blunt not that great. Pizza dough was dense and for me and toppings not of a high standard. I had the Inferno which is standard for guys I guess with pepperoni and nduja. It could have come out of a packet to be honest. The kids Margaritas were a bit better. The pizzas are supposed to be bear shaped. The edges are much more fluffed up but ultimately it’s a dense heavy dough. If I were to compare to even a chain like Franco Manca or Pizza Pilgrims I’d say you’d be very disappointed. Totally overrated based on reviews. Staff are very nice and the venue is light and airy. The tables are not too close together. Toilets were nice and clean.

Absolutely first rate! Four of us, (2 adults and two children), we were attended to and seated quickly and after the first 40 minutes of opening every table was taken and diners were patiently waiting for tables to become available. This speaks for itself! Our pizza’s were all superb and the attentive, friendly and professional service of Molly and Joe could put to shame some front of house staff I’ve encountered in “high-end” establishments. The pair of them worked flat-out, never failing to miss the requests of other diners and their approach with the children was superb. Thank you both. Let’s not forget the back of house team who put together such excellent pizzas. A great team effort and richly deserving of this complimentary review. Thanks.

We come every year. Even tho if h we were staying in port Isaac we made the trip to LOOE for our pizza. Amazing food as always.

We called early on a Friday evening and La Bocca was filling up fast. We both ordered pizza - prosciutto and fungi for my wife and Contadina (meat and peppers) for myself. Visited here on Friday night for the last night of our holiday. Staff were really friendly and helpful, had to wait 10 mins for them to clear a table but this was no issue. Ordered a pizza and a calzone and a portion of fries. Everything was lovely and good portion sizes. Price was also reasonable and we would definitely return.

Bruschetta starter, very disappointing, basic in terms of flavour, just seemed to be made as cheaply as possible. Pizza was very good, very tasty, all pizzas looked good. Meatball & pasta, so disappointing, it looked like it tasted, basic, not great, sauce lacked any flavour, meatballs tasted very similar to your Sunday roast stuffing balls. Desserts very nice. Pizzas good price, pasta dishes very overpriced for basic tasting food. Best things here are pizzas, garlic bread and calzones, best to stick to them
