Giuseppes in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This is a great restaurant tucked away on Wendron Street (best booking) as is open 6.30pm to 8.30pm. My wife, 12 year old son and I went again this summer. The waitress is very friendly, will go through the menu and recommend dishes and the atmosphere is authentic. The menu is full of original dishes - pastas, pizzas, seafood and chicken etc. Would thoroughly recommend Giuseppes - the food is delicious and you dont wait long.

I had forgotten that restaraunts were about great food and spending time with those you love. Three courses of outstanding authentic Italian cuisine. Charming lady serving Giuseppe obviously below stairs working some magic. Off the beaten track but ignore the location the place is worth the visit. Be patient and you will be rewarded. Stumbled on this restaurant by accident. One clue was another diner returning his meal as we arrived but we optimistically carried on. Coffee was made by a machine so wasn’t great. The carbonara I ordered was so greasy I couldn’t eat it, the main turn off being the thick rind on the bacon which was hard and chewy. My husbands pizza was very bland and they forgot to slice it, so the waitress cut it at the table. An easy mistake but seeing someone’s thumbs in your food is off putting. Wouldn’t recommend.

A delicious meal (including desert!). The staff were helpful and polite. The meal arrived quite quickly, which was great as we were off upstairs to the cinema after eating. I'd definitely recommend it.

We were unsure what we were going to eat or where on this particular evening and stumbled across Giuseppes by chance. And what a great eveining it turned out to be. There was a lovely young lady serving and Guiseppe who we met briefly cooked the meals to perfection. We will definitely eat there again next time we are in Helston

We have lived in the area for a few years but hadn't come across this gem before, its a bit tucked away which is a shame. Our food was excellent, everything you would hope for in a traditional Italian restaurant and great value for money, We chatted to the chef about his Italian heritage at the end of the night, he was really friendly and shared a few foodie tips. We really enjoyed the food and will be back!

Excellent evening. They opened a little earlier to fit in with our cinema visit. I has Sea Bass - beautifully cooked with accompanying new potatoes & vegetables. Others in my party had a couple of different chicken dishes. All was fine. . House red was OK, but after 1st bottle we paid a little more for Cab Sav but not sure whether it was worth the extra.

Last evening on holiday and our eleven year old son has a milk allergy. We were aware of Giuseppes from having driven around Helston and it looked quaint and homely (without sounding cliche). We received a lovely welcome and our son found a good choice meanwhile my wife and I were really impressed with our choice. The waitress was doing a fantastic job, organising everyone, taking orders, drinks etc. Our meals were beautiful (pasta polpette, pasta pescatora and raviolini). To see if our son wanted a pudding the waitress allowed him to try the sorbet and vegan ice cream. She was very accommodating and we were delighted to have found Giuseppes but sad it was the last evening of our holiday otherwise we’d have been back!! However will be back in summer 2019!!

Real Italian cooking. not just pizza and pasta. My favourite Italian restaurant. I eat here whenever I can

The day we visited the credit card machine was not working but assume that was just a glitches It is a small restaurant and there was only 1 waitress working, but she handled everything in a friendly and efficient manner. The food was fairly good and plentiful and the price was fair

Unfortunately there are not many restaurants in Cornwall that serve really good quality food. Giuseppes was a very pleasant surprise – the staff were lovely, the food was super tasty (amazing raviolli), good portions and reasonably priced. Go check them out!

Have passed this restaurant so many times and not eaten here, tonight however it was my choice on where to eat so ‘Guiseppes’ it was (the husband isn’t a massive Italian food fan). Best choice ever.......that is all 😊💗 (and he agreed)!!

We came here after a day at the beach and wanted a quick meal before traveling home. When we arrived we were really hungry so we were very happy to find breadsticks on our table- this was a nice touch. The woman working at the bar was very friendly and chatted to us about our day and recommend places to visit in St Ives. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty- the pasta was cooked perfectly and the pizza was a big hit too! Giuseppes is a small restaurant and didn’t seem very busy, it deserves more customers. I would definitely recommend eating here!

We had a lovely welcome at Giuseppe's, and had lovely and authentic food. I particularly liked my mozarella starter, and my partner's pizza was perfect

We chose to go here after a cinema trip. We chose it over another Italian out of town. Whilst I can't fault the quality of the food we had, (carbonara and garlic bread), I would comment that the menu was less than "extensive". This is an Italian restaurant and yet ther's no lasagne on the menu. Pro secco is the most famous of the "Italian bubbles" but no small bottles for diners who'd like a glass. (Not sold by the glass either.....?? The atmosphere is pretty bland, so not likely to revisit, which is a shame but Simply telling how it is.

Attending a family funeral in Helston we found ourselves in Giuseppes when we managed to grab a bite to eat very quickly. The restaurant was small and welcoming and the waitress couldn't have been nicer. I had a pizza and my wife a chicken pasta dish, both were outstanding and served with a bottle of the house red - which was a Montepulciano - made it perfect.

We have eaten at Giuseppe's on numerous occasions, in fact it is our place of choice now to eat out and we are lucky enough to have it located only a stones throw away. The food is always freshly prepared, the waitresses are very welcoming and attentive and all in all, I couldn't fault it. The portion sizes are good, we never leave hungry and we find that compared to other restaurants in the area, Giuseppe's is extremely good value for money. The menu has a varied choice that caters for everyone's pallet. If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine, I would absolutely recommend going to Giuseppe's every time.

First of all unwelcoming, had one table in (5 people) so was to busy to fit in a table for two because they where expecting a table of four later in the evening. Ok fine how about you just advertise for bookings only or atleast explain it might be a while and offer a drink or something. Dont really want to go any deeper as it wouldnt be fair as we didnt get to try the food but after reading some of the sarcastic and slightly agressive replies to peoples reviews id rather not give this place our custom

None of the Touristy restaurant about this place, really nice food and wines and really nice people. If you have ever eaten abroad in Italy Or Sardinia you will see family restaurants like this everywhere (where the locals eat!!!). You truly get the Italian feel... lovely people.

We visited while on our first night in cornwall after a 4 hr drive and 2 tired hungry boys!

Booked a table for 8 people on a Saturday night (9-9-17)

Nos alojamos en el Premier Inn Helston en y, entramos en la ciudad (alrededor de una hora y media), quedamos bastante decepcionados al encontrar que la mayoría de los buenos restaurantes en tripadvisor parecía estar en Porthleven, 2. A 5 km de distancia. Finalmente encontramos Giuseppe's y contratamos a las 7 pm. Para empezar, yo tenía una bruschetta y mi esposa un plato de mozzarella. Para los platos principales tuve el pato con salsa de fruta y mi esposa Pollock y ambos estuvieron deliciosos. Con un gran vaso de buen vino de la casa de calidad cada (me rojo, su blanco) seguido por café la factura llegó a unos cincuenta libras.

Tuve que llevar a nuestro hijo de nuevo para una comida de primera clase esta tarde. Simon inicio desde Hertfordshire para el fin de semana mejor que tenido ltalian. Como dijo en 7 semanas ver u cuando él es el hogar para una boda. Esperamos que la Whiebait dice.

Long awaited trip to Giuseppe's didn't disappoint despite being very quiet so lacking some atmosphere. Excellent food cooked to order.

Una mesa para 15 compañeros de trabajo en una noche de jueves fue organizado. El restaurante le dieron tres días de anticipación, con una lista de los grupos y el menú fue elegido por adelantado con una opción de 4 entradas y 5 platos principales y 5 postres que hacen que sea fácil para el restaurante. Las órdenes eran entregados rápidamente y todas las comidas calientes nos sirven adecuadamente. Uno de los partidos fue dado un postre que ella no había pedido y me dijeron que estaba en la lista y me sentí obligado a aceptar. Otro miembro preguntó si ella podría tener el postre pero no había pedido anteriormente y me dijeron que sólo había uno que ya habían servido. Todo esto parecía un poco mezquino. Se ha afirmado que cualquiera que tuviera 3 campos se ofreció un café gratis, y esta no se extendió al resto.

I came here with my two nieces after we couldn't get into BooKoos - and I am so glad we did. The food was lovely and staff so welcomming. The food service was a little slow and it isn't cheap - but it's worth it when you know you get freshly cooked authentic Italian food. My niece even said "you get takeaway pizza, then you get frozen pizza...and then you get proper pizza like this." High praise indeed! If I was ever back this way I wouldn't hesitate to go again

Small restaurant with 8 tables. We didn't book but had no trouble getting a table. The food was moderately pricey but excellent. The wine was good. The waitress was friendly and efficient. We will go there again.

Had a lovely meal here before the cinema: wonderfully delicious pate' starter, delicious Italian white wine, excellent seafood pasta dish and a good carbonara. Midweek, so very quiet, but friendly and welcoming and really good value.

Was in Helston visiting a friend who suggested this restaurant for dinner Saturday night, food was amazing, friendly service and great value for money, will definitely go back when we are in Helston again, thank you Giuseppes!

Down in Helston, walking round looking where to eat (Friday before New Year) tried Henleys, no food on! Luckily, we found Giuseppe's just round the corner. As good a pizza as we've had, starter of whitebait seemed fresh and home battered in a lovely light bread batter, bread was lovely (could've been honemade). Service was superb, caring, efficient and knowledgeable. Just about full, but service was excellent. Sensibly priced. Thanks guys, see you when we move in. Thanks.

Dad runs the kitchen, daughter runs the restaurant. Genuine, tasty Italian food as Mamma made it and it won't break the bank either.Make sure you book Giuseppes, HELSTON by the way. There is another Giuseppes in the area and with the same area code. Apparently, mistakes can occur! This one is located at 4 Wendron Street in the centre of Helston town centre.

Went to this restaurant tonight for a Birthday meal, having walked past it a number of times, only living 10 mins away, had a great meal, served by a very knowledgeable waitress, good selection of food and wine, all reasonably priced, will certainly return, thanks

We were drawn to this restaurant by the menu we read in the window whilst browsing. However, we then confused this restaurant with those that have similar names in Falmouth and elsewhere in the area. We need not have worried as once we had discovered our error we were delighted by the place. I had the best pizza since visiting Naples two years ago and my wife very much enjoyed her steak, sauce and accompanying range of vegetables. My wife also enjoyed the House Red wine whilst I particularly appreciated the quality of the coffee with the depth of knowledge displayed by the very friendly Front of House Manager who is also the daughter of the excellent Chef. I am no expert on Italian cuisine but I do know what I like and I enjoyed this restaurant very much. Thank-you for a wonderful meal!

What a lovely little restaurant found when wandering around Helston. We arrived just after they opened at 6:30. Nothing was too much trouble we had pizza and pasta and both were good. Very cosy place.

We have been here several times for different special occassions and i can honestly say we have never been disappointed.The food is cooked to order and is of the highest quality and the authentic Italian flavours are second to none.The service is quick and very friendly, we love it hereLooking forward to celebrating my birthday here this Friday with family and friends.

We have been living with my partner 2 minutes away from this restaurant for 2 years and past it many times without considering it. What a mistake!!! We gave it a go not knowing what to expect and I have to say we had a great experience. The started were really good and we both had pasta for mains that were cooked to perfection. Service was very good. It is run like a real family business. Caring about the guest and delivering good food and service. The prices are really good, we will definitely come back.

Table for two on Saturday night at this family owned and run restaurant. Good choice of wines - we had a bottle of the Primitivo. Interesting choice of starters inc baked mozzarella with spicy dip, bruschetta piled high with cheese, meat and tomatoes. For main course we had crab & prawn ravioli and seafood spaghetti served in generously large and hot bowls. Great coffee too. A delicious and memorable meal.

This is a lovely establishment with no more than around 10 tables. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, and it's a family affair (father is chef, daughter is waitress). We had a warm welcome, and the food was divine. I can honestly say it's the best steak I've ever had. Certainly well priced and a great range of food. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely place, and will certainly be coming again if and when we visit the south cost of Cornwall again.

Wow the food and service is perfect. Nothing was to much for out lovely waitress. She informed us about the food we were ordering and was very helpful. My partner eats a lot of steak but he even said this was the best steak he had ever had and asked if he could have another one for pudding! The pizza was so fresh nd the desserts were lovely Thank you so much for an amazing experience

such a lovely little restaurant we visited, everyone of my family enjoyed there meals! the only criticism was that the pasta was quite a small portion but so so tasty.. I had the scallop and prawn pasta with tomato and crab sauce. Defiantly book as it is quite small but 100% worth a visit.

We've visited this restaurant many times as a couple and with friends and never been disappointed. The pizza is always great and the blue cheese steak I ate the other evening was one of the best I've had recently. The service is great and you feel very welcome with it being a small family run business.

Love Italian so gave Giuseppes a try and afraid not impressed. Food not bad but the ambience was way of the mark needs a big kick up the backside. When we got home all clothes had to be put straight in the washing machine as we stank of greasy cooking.

Despite never having visited this restaurant before I booked it for my 60th birthday. We received a really warm welcome, nothing seemed to be too much trouble- even a garlic pizza with no garlic!! Every dish we ordered was freshly prepared and excellent, including the desserts. We will definitely be returning, as will our friends. We recently dined at Rick Stein's in Porthleven and I can honestly say that this was 100% better. A totally understated restaurant. Would highly recommend it.

Refreshingly different from chain establishments - personal service with pleasant conversation - family business that prides itself on quality ingredients, authentic cooking and superb service. It is not good to give an adverse report but to me this establishment can't seem to make up its mind whether it is a café or a restaurant. The Italian food has to be said to be authentic as it is owned and run by an Italian. I thought the décor uninspiring.

Visited last night after a little drive around Helson looking for somewhere to eat. Excellent service from the second we stepped in the door, with a very attentive and friendly waitress. A good choice for all three of us, especially considering we were three vegetarians with various dietary restrictions. Food was very tasty and piping hot, which is always a good sign. I had the Mozzarella Fritti to start which were delicious with a superb tomato sauce on the side, the salad garnish was a little underwhelming, but still fine. For a main I had the margarita pizza with some mushrooms as an extra topping and it was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten (and I eat a lot of pizza), it was very generously topped, cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty!Sadly we were too full for anything else as portion/pizza sizes are fairly large.Value for money was also good, with 2 starters, 3 mains and 3 drinks coming in under £45.This is a place we will certainly add to the list of places to visit again when back down in Helson.

I just tried to call this restaurant to try to order two takeaway pizzas at 6.45pm on a Saturday night and was told "sorry we are quite busy tonight and won't be able to fit you in"!It must be a good restaurant if they are that busy on a Saturday however from a service perspective I think this is quite poor. I also find it hard to believe that despite it being Saturday night that they cannot make two pizzas between 6.45pm and when they close.

We visited the restaurant whilst staying in the area. The food was great and freshly cooked always a bonus. The portion sizes were very ample. Thank goodness we choose to share our starter. the Pasta Scallope was to die for. Great Job with excellent service.

9 of us ate there for a birthday meal and I must say i was so impressed , I've lived in helston 9 years and this is the first time I've tried it , would highly recommend

I went here for an evening meal with some family. We booked a table for 7pm. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady and shown to the table. We were then informed that they only had 3 pizza bases left....luckily only 1 out of the 4 wanted pizza so wasn't much of an issue. We had starters and mains. The food portions were very good and we all struggled to finish the main course due to being so full! It is a small restaurant but has a nice atmosphere and the waitress was very helpful and friendly. I would return here again.

Despite our being late we were welcomed by a lovely friendly waitress. The food was delicious and home cooked. We had a wonderful relaxing evening and will definitely be returning.

My husband booked a table for dinner prior to a cinema visit. When we arrived I was a bit taken aback as the metal tables and chairs were not what I was expecting, but, let's face it, you don't eat the tables and chairs !!! Gabrielle was very nice, showing us to our table and giving us a warm welcome along with the menu,s. Drinks were ordered, house white for me, Italian beer for himself. The menu was quite extensive, we decided to have a starter and main, forgoing desert due to the time constraints of the impending movie. I had the goats cheese to start, really lovely, was forced to share with husband as he thought it looked good and wanted to taste!! For the main, I choose the carbonara, husband had steak. The carbonara was fantastic, truly authentic Italian, none of the swimming in a bland sauce that you usually get here in England. The fact that I am still raving about it month later should tell you how good it was. To sum up, a wonderful meal, cooked to,perfection, graciously served, and tasting perfect. What more could you possible expect. In addition, it was very reasonably priced and Gabriella was lovely, even allowing me to practice my Italian language skills. Don't be put of by the decor, the food and service is what matters and this was equal to any top notch establishment. I intend to return soon.

My boyfriend and I are regulars at Guiseppes and the waitress is always so wonderful! The food is absolutely delicious and, like I said, the staff are excellent. I would highly recommend the Limoncello dessert, it's amazingly refreshing and very light. By far the best restaurant I've EVER been to.

We live in Redruth Cornwall and this is by far one of the best and most authentic Italian restaurants in Cornwall. The food is excellent , fresh, good sized portions and very reasonable prices. Giuseppe works extremely hard in a stressful situation and when very busy has not the time to come and talk to his clients, but when not so, he is friendly and likes a chat. Staff are obliging and friendly. Some customers are downright rude, no patience. If a dish is not up to standard then complain, it will be sorted with apologies. Don't go away and whinge on here, give the man a chance to put it right. Don't believe the poor reviews majority are good and that is the truth.If you like fine dining surroundings don't go, its Italian café style. Only negative I have is the toilet, only one and its pokey and last times I have used it the seat will not hold up consequently on very busy nights it is not pleasant for the women! Men are not accurate especially when they have had a few drinks!! How he can put in two loos I have no idea, I don't think its possible.

Run by a Sardinian Italian who cooks really well. Don't rush a visit here take in the atmosphere and pretend your really in an Italian restaurant in Italy. Service was good but Be patient as there is only one of them at times...

Lovely authentic family restaurant, quiet due to its unassuming location so giuseppe is able to cook everything fresh to order. And it makes all the difference. Pizzas are exactly as a pizza should be.

We called in without a reservation and Gabriella quickly put 2 tables together for us. The food was delicious as always , service excellent. We love this restaurant and will be back in September

My husband and I are regular visitors to this restaurant. We enjoy the quality and selection of food available. As we are regular customers, we now tend to order our favourite dishes from the menu, although some of the 'Specials' can be very tempting. We are always welcomed with a smile and the service is excellent. This is the reason why we always return.

A fair selection of food, well presented and excellent quality with a good house wine. Very pleasant staff and attentive service. Would definitely go there again.

I went to Giuseppes a year ago in a first date, a year later returned with my, now, fiancé to celebrate my birthday. Nothing has changed in that year, the service is great, the staff very friendly and welcoming and the food quite excellent. Even though through some confusion the places was busy we did not have to wait long for service and the food arrived perfectly cooked. We both enjoyed every moment for our arrival to enjoying aperitifs in comfy chairs whilst we settled the bill. It's certain we will return again - maybe a bit quicker than a year on from the last visit.

Helston, is one of those place that has been run down for years, Shops and eateries come and go like the fog rolling in and back of the Bay.I've lived in the Area for 15 years and never noticed Giuseppe's. tuck in the upper part of the high-street as it is. Blink and you miss it simply because of the outdated way the council probably enforce the way the shop owners can display advertising outside there establishments. Well traditionalist that I am I reckon you can judge the chef in a place by how well he does a Carbonara and a fish Dish. So having "discovered" Giuseppe's last night I can say that I had one of the best Carbonara's I have ever had. A good portion done in the English preferred way with a creamy Sauce and two tone Tagliatelli Verde and Tagliatelli Blanco. The Sole was also cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is mid range Cafe / Roma /Restaurant but very comfortable and you can tell the place is family run. Giuseppe is retiring soon so if you want a lovely properly cooked Italian meal before he does retires back to Sardinia get in there soon......

I went here with my parents when we walked the first impressions where not great with the metal dining tables and chair but the thought we r here now we will stay and wow I'm glad we did everything from the service to the food to the drinks was amazing. The only thing I was disappointed with was no tiramisu :-) to which I did say but was told if I was to come again pre order it and the chef can make it for me which was really nice of them look forward to going back again soon

Lovely family restaurant of daughter serving and Italian Father cooking.Excellent personal customer service,good wine and a tasty selection of food which included a specials board.Would definitely go back again.

My husband and I ate here for the first time this evening and I couldn't fault it. The food was amazing; I had a sirloin steak in blue cheese sauce with seasonal vegetables which was cooked just the way I like it. I asked for a rare steak which was cooked to perfection. The veg was cooked but still had bite and the sauce was not overpowering and well balanced. My husband had chicken with parma ham and mozzarella in a white wine and cream sauce with steak chips. The sauce was so fragrant and light that I would have got food envy if my own meal hadn't been so delicious!We will definitely be back, and we're also planning to book a large table for my birthday meal.

Pleasant decor and friendly service however the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. One of the pizzas had a rubbery texture and a minimal amount of cheese and tomato topping whilst the vegetarian was dry and tasteless. The steaks were nicely presented but with only a minimal portion of vegetables in accompaniment. Maybe we picked an off night.

Very tasty. And very reasonably priced. Seafood pasta was really good. All in all a very good meal. Will definitely visit again.

It is not often we are the only customers in a restaurant. That often looks a bit worrying, but not in this case. We were treated to excellent Italiand food and wine, cooked to order by Giuseppe the owner and it was mouth-watering. The young lady serving us was delightful and helpful. Sad that there were not more people there, but we benefited. You must try Giuseppe's

Service was first class we stayed & chatted with the Father & Daughter team after we had our meals & they are genuinely nice people. Food portions were so large that I took part of mine home with me. It is a two person team so everything is freshly cooked to order so there is a little wait but certainly worth it it. Would revisit if in Helston. More than fair on the pricing as well.

As visitors to the area we took a bit of a flyer and from reading various reviews decided to ring Giuseppes for a take-away. Unfortunately we didn't have a menu, but that wasn't a problem - staff were very friendly on the phone enabling us to order some good choices. Timing for collection was very accurate and I had the unfortunate job of having to put up with the delicious aromas emitting from the pizza boxes on the drive back to our cottage! Once back at the cottage, the family (who were starving after a very full day at the beach) loved the food and commented on how tasty it was. Just what we needed...Thanks for the flexibility and giving us such a tasty meal after a long and sunny day at the beach!

Visited this restaurant recently and have to say cant fault anything. Good authentic Italian food served by very attentive staff who were very pleasant, friendly and polite. Will visit again.

I visited Giuseppe’s with my wife and my niece and her partner, who were over from France. Alarm bells immediately started to ring when we were handed the menus, or should I say “menu’s”? Apostrophes all over the place and the spelling was atrocious. I doubt whether there is one Italian in the place, or at least not one with any pride in his own language.However, we were there, so we duly ordered some pasta dishes. Myself and my niece both had the Fettuccine al Pollo. The chicken was pre-cooked and dumped into the rest of the pasta and sauce. As a result, it had very little flavour. My niece’s partner seemed fairly happy with his Penne Picante, but overall a very average experience. When the waitress had to drag a fridge out of the corner of the restaurant in a vain attempt to get the Bluetooth card machine to work, it really said it all.On the plus side, the service was O.K. and we didn’t have any problems getting a table – no wonder!Chippy next time!

Tasty, authentic Italian food; in a traditional setting. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. Food is cooked fresh to order, but it's worth it! Felt like home.

What a sumptuous meal I had here Monday night & again tonight (Wednesday)! Just as well I go home tomorrow as my waistline is already suffering!! The Bruscetta starter had slices of Italian sausage on it - master stroke! I had to text my Italian sister-in-law in Toronto!! This is Italian food cooked by an Italian who loves & knows food. Thank you, Giuseppe. And thank you to the delightful young lady who does everything apart from the cooking. You made my stay in Helston extra special.

Small informal restaurant in old Helston with friendly good service. Needs Italian posters and pictures to give it a better atmosphere. Lovely toasted goat's cheese starter, good mains but the pasta needed a spicier sauce. No view.

We can't rate this restaurant enough. We only found this place as we walked past, it is off the main street so may get missed which is such a shame as this is one of the best meals we have ever had. We ate here twice during our stay and will definitely be back next year. The food is amazing and authentic and very reasonably priced. Daniella the waitress is really friendly and was attentive all night. Don't miss this restaurant you won't be disappointed.

My girlfriends and I visited on a late Sat evening. Everyone in the party agreed that the food was delicious and the host excellent. Lovely ambience and service. Can't rate it highly enough!It seemed quiet but we did eat late, about 8pm, so that may explain it.I live in Helston and don't feel this restaurant markets itself very well. I have never seen an advert for it in the local paper/leaflets through door, etc. Because it is tucked away a little it can be overlooked. This is a shame because it is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in. Visit and you wont be disappointed and will be telling everyone how delicious it was. A**********

We visited in early November when on our first house-hunting trip in the area. Both the town and the restaurant were very quiet - not surprising perhaps for out-of-season - but as a result we got undivided attentive service and the food (one spigola and one fetucino con pollo) was authentic and far tastier than we could ever make at home. With several extras and a good bottle of red the whole bill was only £47 - we thought that was good value. We will definitely visit again with eager anticipation on our next foray in March, and try some different dishes.

We visited on friday night as a post xmas meal with the girls and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was served quite quickly and was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys italian food. Definitely would go back again and again.

We came in on Saturday. The food was nothing less than superb and the waitresses were excellent, really pleasant and helpful.

Myself and five friends ate here and were surprised by the poor quality of the food served, my starter was calamari, this was chewy and had awful batter and the presentation was standard at best, I then had Steak, I asked for meduim/well and recieved well/dry it was made edible by a nice sauce, three of my friends had pasta, which was truely awful dry and no more than could be knocked up at home with a supermarket sauce. The (chef) then decided to "clean" his cooker which was downstairs this caused so many fumes in the restaurant that the waitress (who is this establishments only good asset) had to open the door onto the street to let the air clear! When we complained to the owner he threatened to call the police! Top effort to the waitress who deserves to be working in a much better establishment than this one, she is excellent. Avoid this restaurant.

This restaurant was recommended to us by relatives who visited in August and we were not disappointed. We were a party of five and all enjoyed our food. We had a warm welcome and friendly helpful service. The choice was good, food tasty and good value. We will be back!

It's ok, if you want a quick in and out Italian meal. Nothing I couldn't knock up at home with a bit of effort, not a place for a special meal, but very edible.

We are locals and have enjoyed many meals at Giuseppe's. Every time the food has been excellent. I can't believe anyone has put negative comments on here. The food is always cooked fresh to order so you should expect a short wait if the restaurant is full. However this has never been a problem for us as we will just enjoy the wine whilst we wait. Staff have always been very friendly and polite. We will be enjoying another fantastic meal there tomorrow. We can't wait. So if you don't agree with my comments....... Don't go back! They don't need to hear from people who don't appreciate good home cooked food!!! None of the locals we know who have been to this wonderful restaurant have had a bad experience!!! I work locally in the town, and always struggle finding something wholesome and nutritious to eat for lunch, without going down the pasty pastry route. Came across Guiseppe's Friday lunchtime meal and now Carbonara is my friday carbs treat. Yum! Great pasta....great service!!

We have had several meals in this Italian establishment over the last few years and each time the food has been cooked to perfection and served by staff that make you feel as if nothing is to much trouble. You do have to wait a little while for your food, but this is only because it is cooked to order. Went there this evening for a Birthday meal and decided on the lamb chops in a Red wine sauce that is on the specials board. Well worth a visit if you like Italian food, reasonably priced too. Granddaughter had a pizza which was huge and couldn't manage to finish, so staff kindly gave her a take away box to bring it home. Will visit again soon.

We stumbled upon this little restaurant 5 years ago looking for somewhere to eat and at 8.50pm ish we walked in and not knowing they were due to close at 9pm the waitress showed us to a table and took our drink order. We did not once feel rushed to place our order or even rush eating the food when arrived. Great friendly atmosphere.The food – Is well worth the wait! I prefer to wait for my food to be cooked to order than the typical stereo typed restaurant these days who only have to shove the food in the microwave for 5 mins on high heat and you end up with rubbery burnt hard food. This food is just lovely.We first visited in 2009 and have been back every year since, we were recently there Tuesday 6th August 2013 and we now visit every year as a special anniversary meal, what more do you want, great food, Great Service....just perfect for me and my husband. Can’t wait to return next year and every year after that.

Pizza - OKPasta - AwfulService - Dreadful & SlowValue - PoorVisited Giuseppe's about a week ago. Despite there being no new orders taken in the restaurant after we arrived, the waitress was slow and disorganised. She could not even bring four drinks to the table at the same time and one of them was a jug of tap water!Starters of Bread and Pizza base (simplest you can get in a Pizza place?) with Oil and Vinegar took over 30mins to arrive and we had a bowl of Oil and Vinegar sitting on the table for 10mins before the breads turned up.Main meal did not turn up for another hour and then the order was not only wrong but they did not even produce the right number of dishes.My daughter ordered Ravioli which arrived with half a pint of cream poured over it. Utterly tasteless. The Pizzas were OK but wrong - the waitress clearly had no idea of how to deal with this situation and suggested that two of our Pizzas would arrive later, whereupon she delivered a combination of the two orders on one Pizza... followed 10 minutes later by two more Pizzas.When the bill turned I suggested that some might be taken off by way of compensation for the long wait and incorrect delivery of the order. The waitress made some insulting comments and stormed off. It was clear that she was not going to take anything off the bill so we had call her back to take payment of the full bill. Then she accused me whinging about the slowness of the PDQ machine (which I had not) and shouted at me when I attempted to put my debit card into the machine to make a payment "Don't touch that! We have been to this restaurant several times over the years. Tonight it was dreadful, very slow service. Undercooked scampi, very soggy seafood pizza with far too much squid. It's a pity as we certainly we won't be back again.
