The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

My second visit since I discovered this restaurant. Excellent once again.

I had read good reviews online about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I had the soup of the day (butternut and sweet potato) to start (delicious), baked hand made pasta tubes with the most delicious filling, topped with a creamy tomato sauce and for dessert a coconut panacotta with chocolate soil served with gooseberries and smooth vanilla ice cream! My husband had the baked handmade pizza dough, filled with cheese and topped with a tomato sauce followed by a venison and beef ragu with tagliatelle. He had coffee then envied my dessert but was too full to order one! This was the best restaurant meal we had on our break. The staff were lovely including Morag who owns the restaurant with Andre, her husband and chef.

Lovely little place, service friendly, if a little slow,but it wasn't a problem as it just forced us to relax a little. Excellent risotto and carbonara plus cheesecake to die for. Great to see they serve 0% beer too.

We loved it AGAIN. Absolutely delicious !!!

Ate here tonight before going to the theatre. Staff were efficient, service was good and the atmosphere was ok. Unfortunately the food was not good. My husband had lasagne. It was a small portion, bland and at £17.95, overpriced. That did not include a side such as a slice of garlic bread or veg. My friend had a vegetarian pizza which had little in the way of veg on the topping and again, was bland and oily. Really disappointed with the food and portion sizes.

NB This restaurant has moved location to Droitwich after a serious fire before Christmas. They intend to return to Pershore, but it will be some months. I have informed tripadvisor so they will hopefully update

Simple fresh tasty Italian food. Very late lunch early dinner and it was just right. Will be going back.

Went here for the first and last time. The food was good but very expensive for what you had. It could do with a better selection on the menu.

I have lived in the area for 4 years and had kept meaning to go in. Finally made it in last night and what a delight! Great service, food and wine. I will be back, regularly! This will be my family’s go to restaurant, I am just sorry I never walked in sooner.

Enjoyed our 3rd visit on Sunday evening and always worth the travel from home in Torquay and stay overnight in the White Hart. This is a truly wonderful rustic and cosy family Italian restaurant. A simple menu of perfect thin base pizza and pasta dishes. Busy and atmospheric with an open kitchen for your further entertainment. We were initially attracted by the arresting bright red facade and beautiful display of potted green plants on the pavement. Very reasonable prices especially enhanced as this restaurant, despite being licensed, is also a BYO. Happy days! Another rather lovely and rare feature is that Berto's is doggy friendly. Food was exceptional, my mum goes here regularly with her walking group and suggested we went, absolutely fantastic, service was fantastic and food excellent. Would definitely recommend.

My family celebrated my grandsons 5th Birthday here.All the food we had was absolutely beautiful.Also they have a large gluten free menu,which is what I needed.The staff were amazing so friendly and polite.Its my Birthday in January so I want to come back again.

The food served is of good quality, but it's the same old menu time after time. The restaurant also lacks atmosphere, which is a shame because it used to be the best restaurant in Helensburgh under previous owners.

What a superb restaurant this is, a pal of mine is driven from Hornchurch at a cost of £60 return to enjoy lunch with my wife and I at the best local Italian restaurant, the food is superb as is the staff and service and at a sensible price, well done Silvo, Orazio and a wonderful kitchen. 🍷 Barbara and John Bentley
