Ristorante Pieno in Glasgow City

I wasn't sure where I would have my pre theatre lunch but, I was very pleased to find Restaurante Pieno! Ideal location for the Theatre Royal! Solo dining can be daunting but, I received a warm welcome, was seated thoughtfully and I felt very comfortable. I chose from the lunch menu which offered good value. Service was friendly, speedy and efficient. The Biscoff Cheesecake deserves a special mention! A treat! Happy to recommend and I know exactly where I will be eating on my next visit to Glasgow!

Had my birthday lunch with the family (17 of us). Grandkids from 9 years old, adults and oldies. Great menu to cater for all tastes. Food delicious and service with style and a smile. We ate off the pre-theatre menu. Three of our starters where quite nice but my Arancini was a bit too wet inside and was served with a lack lustre tomato dipping sauce. The two pasta dishes were really nice however the two Italian stews were not that great. The portions were tiny with hardly any meat. How on earth they can justify a £4 supplement I have no idea - for what we had it should have been a £4 discount. The place is nice and the staff are friendly but I wouldn't recommend. Doubt very much if I would go back.

A lucky find. We didn’t have a reservation on a Saturday evening but the staff willingly moved tables and chairs to access us. The food was really excellent as was the service but the absolute best bit was the ambiance ( or vibe as the youngsters say). It was busy with all ages, genders etc. it wasn’t noisy or cramped and the atmosphere was friendly and upbeat.

Had a meal here tonight with my partner and his family. Couldn't fault this place. The food was absolutely outstanding. We will definitely be back.

1st visit this evening for dinner 10/2/24. Food was delicious and great service. The restaurant was buzzing. As a disabled customer (who generally doesn't like busy places) I felt really welcome and safe. Good selections of cocktails too. Thankyou we will be back soon. Would recommend :)

Fantastic restaurant one of the best Italian restaurants in Glasgow Staff and food are first class We have been a few times and standards are still so high I tried pizza Marinara for the first time and what an amazing masterpiece it not only looks like a work of art it tasted amazing - best I have tasted and I have tasted many in different parts of the world

Excellent, friendly, family run Italian. The black pudding pizza was excellent!

In Glasgow for work, I wanted to find a place to dine where I wouldn't feel too out-of-place at a table for one! I added a note to that effect to my booking and I was made to feel very welcome. I ordered the seafood risotto with a large glass of Pinot Grigio, then an Italian coffee. Service was friendly and attentive but relaxed - just what I needed after a 3 hour drive to get there. My risotto was plentiful and delicious and I savoured every mouthful, finishing off my meal nicely with an alcohol-infused coffee. Very happy with my first experience of evening dining on my own!

Oggi sono stato in questo ristorante, e devo dire di aver fatto un ottima scelta. Tutto quello che ho mangiato era perfetto. La pasta era al dente come piace a me. I crostini si scioglievano in bocca. La birra era proprio buona ed infine il caffè era davvero espresso. Le attenzioni ricevute dalla cameriera che mi ha servito sono state incredibili. Lo consiglio vivamente. Grazie di tutto.

It was brilliant 👏 best mussels I've ever had in Glasgow, though they were really spicy and that is better to know before you order 😉 my friends were absolutely satisfied with their meat steaks, nice atmosphere

Restaurant is lovely , Christmas lunch was fine, however the pushy and rude waitress spoiled it. Tip was minimal due to this.

We ordered penne andiamo pasta tossed with chicken and mushrooms. Flavour 8/10 BUT only 4 pieces of chicken the size of your fingernail and only 2 sliced mushrooms made it ‘pasta in a sauce’. Disappointing. Shame that they skimped on these basic ingredients! Nice atmosphere though , really friendly staff , and attentive.

Love this restaurant. The food is always delicious and the staff are really friendly. Not necessarily the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Have always had a lovely experience here.

I'll be honest I was disappointed. The prawn cocktail was not very fresh. The prawns were very hard and the salad was limp, the sauce was watery. My main was better, the sauce was nice but then the chicken was rubbery. The salad again wasn't too fresh - but I was hungry and had nothing much to eat that day. My daughter had a better meal, her mozzarella sticks were tasty and the pizza was nice. The staff were lovely though. I did feel it was a bit expensive for what we got, but then it's the city centre.

Simpliy delicious food. I was not a fan of Italian food back in Canada, regardless of high-end or casual restaurant. Then I realized I simply hadn't had the real Italian food until now. Their cappuccino also redefined my understanding of coffee, the foam floats on top and doesn't shrink at all. The balance between milk and expresso is perfect

Nice restaurant with a good varied menu. Food was good. However the waiter simply could not be bothered. We had to request pepper and Parmesan. He proceeded to stretch over us to serve the above and it ended up in each of our drinks. No apology, in fact he did not speak at all during the evening.

We had a wonderful experience in this lovely restaurant. Our food was delicious and the staff are very friendly and efficient. The Christmas decorations added to the festive atmosphere - beautiful 🎄🎅 This restaurant is located in a very good position for the Theatre Royal. We will definitely be returning - thanks to all the staff for making this a such a nice time for us.

Came here for my 18th bday dinner with my family, food was fantastic as always. Staff suprised me by taking my cake and getting everyone to sing happy birthday to me. I loved it but took a redneck! Will definetly be back again all the family love this place

This was my first time in here today with my friend. The staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was amazing and very reasonable. I will definitely be back. There was no negatives to my experience.

Great food, well presented, friendly, helpful, and efficient staff. Quite busy with a good buzzy atmosphere. Good place to eat when visiting the theatre, cinema or concerts in Glasgow.

Second time here and between 3 of us we've had the pleasure of trying astound 12 dishes from the menu - all we're fantastic, well cooked and presented. Staff are all very friendly without being intrusive. Will eat here again when in Glasgow next time.

Great wee Italian. Worth walking up the street for even if you're not going to the theater.

Service was great. We went before the theatre amd staff were attentive and food came very quickly. Most of the food was fantastic but pizza was a bit “cheddary” rather than seeming authentic Italian hence 4 rather than 5 rating.

What a great little place for a pleasant meal. Staff is friendly, and the food hits the spot every time.

This is a fantastic family-run restaurant. You're met by the owner, one of two brothers in the restaurant, the whole team welcomes you in and shows you to your table. The staff attend quickly and are welcoming friendly and extremely helpful. The menu is varied and authentic. your choice is then cooked up by another part of the family the other brother of the family and it's cooked to perfection. You will not be disappointed with this restaurant. With good old-style service and a great menu, you will leave satisfied after experiencing a fantastic dining experience. In the area? Going to the theatre or just looking for a great business lunch. Look Pieno up and enjoy the welcome and the experience. A dinner for the family it was an extremely well-priced meal. It won't put a huge dent in your budget for a night out.

Tasteful Aperol e Espresso. Very delicious and cheap daily menu. We highly recommend for nice and tasteful meals.

Quick review on the takeaway lunch deal. Pizza or pasta for 5.95, tremendous! Not too long of a wait, staff super friendly - both the female and male waiter I encountered were lovely. Food was lovely, definitely a better lunch alternative too the typical fast food and given the prices of some of these places these days, a bargain! Highly recommend.

Wow! This restaurant is astounding and should be on your “must do” list when in Glasgow. Their menu is clearly marked for Allergens and we had two of us who are Celiac, so with the assistance of the wait staff team we were able to order Lasagna, Garlic bread and other items off the menu that could be prepared (or were already) Gluten Free. The vibe, food and staff are amazing. We finished off our meal with GF Sticky Toffee Pudding and Apple Caramel Pie. How often have you seen those items available GF? Will be back again on our trip but also bound to be the highlight for our travels to Scotland! They’re rated among the best and I can see why. The only thing I would suggest is that they carry some GF beer options to go with the great food! Go there!

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Came here with a group of six and the service was excellent. The staff was super friendly and attentive to our table. I had the spaghetti cozze and a side of garlic bread, all of which was super delicious. One of my friends was vegen and she loved how the restaurant had plenty of vegan options for her. Highly recommend coming to this restaurant!

I was there for lunch with family. All the food we ordered was so delicious. Also the staff are so friendly.

Ristorante Pieno has the best vegan options amongst all of the Italian restaurants I tried during my trip around Scotland. My husband and I went here for dinner and ordered the vegan focaccia rosemary with Napoli dip, penne arrabbiata, and risotto primavera. The pasta was perfectly al dente and delicious, with just the right amount of spice. My husband also thoroughly enjoyed his risotto. Overall, our dinner here was excellent. My only complaint is that our water was not refilled throughout our dinner and we were unable to catch the server's attention.

Well worth a visit. The lunchtime menu was great value for money with two courses for under £13. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Very well turned out too. The cocktails were great too. Especially the Italian Refresher!

Schon die Begrüßung an unserem Tisch vom Senior-Chef war so herzlich, dass man sich sofort wohlgefühlt hat. Daran sieht man, was ein Paar freundliche Worte bewirken können. Danach kamen die Speisen, in bester Qualität und hervorragendem Geschmack. Allein das Focaccia war das Beste, was wir je gegessen haben. Schade, dass wir über 1.500 km weg wohnen, wir wären sonst jede Woche hier.

Brilliantly lovely place, the staff were more like hosts than anywhere I have been before. Kind welcoming, everyone coming in and leaving was treated like an old family friend. The atmosphere was perfect and even though it was busy and every table full, nothing felt rushed, pleasant efficiency must be a motto. The food was perfect in every way. After dinner we went to the theatre and after our show went straight back for desert and it was just as perfect.

Second visit for us, as tourists from Wigan. First visit pre theatre trip and very busy, so advise booking. Second trip a quiet Tuesday evening and my son's birthday. On both occasions the staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful, they made my son's birthday special with a complimentary dessert, with a candle and sang happy birthday which they asked firstly if it was ok. We all enjoyed our food, good value, quality and choice and if we do visit Glasgow again, will return.
