The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

Excellent meal. Visited for a work leaving do. Food was great, staff friendly and efficient. A great night out.

OK seafood pasta, not great. Outside seating next to busy road when we visited.

Called Saturday evening, hadn’t booked a table but staff fitted us in and we sat in the window. Restaurant was busy so obviously very popular. Ordered lasagne and garlic bread with cheese. Meal was lovely would definitely go again. Staff attentive and pleasant, made us feel welcome even though we hadn’t booked.

Lives up to the hype. Definitely the best Italian in the city. Lovely staff and a great atmosphere.

La comida era horrible. Teníamos milanesa con pasta, el pollo milanés estaba crudo todavía un poco de sangre en el interior y la pasta estaba demasiado cocida. Mi esposa se comió filete de lubina Branzano, el pescado olía como si estuviera apagado. El único plato decente era la pizza de mi chile. Por lo tanto, queremos volver más.

Lugana is normally one of my favourite places to eat - somewhere I recommend to friends , and return to time and time again. That’s why my latest visit was such a letdown. Typically Lugana delivers on every front; warm hospitality, delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. This time, however, things didn’t quite come together. Service was unusually slow and indifferent- a far cry from the attentive staff I am used to. Waiting staff rushed past, missing visual cues that attention was required. When they did come, they looked over or through us. Food took a very long time to come- so long in fact that we skipped dessert it was so late. The patrons were loud, the music was loud which prevented easy conversation between our party. To their credit, the menu and food preparation are still bright spots in the evening. The food, when it did arrive, was as usual excellent (one incorrect dish - the person taking the order was looking over the top of us, not listening to us) but undeniably delicious. Overall however the evening didn’t live up to the high standards I have come to expect from Lugana. Given their track record, I’m willing to chalk this up as a one off. I look forward to giving them another chance. Hopefully, next time they’ll remind me why they became a favourite in the first place. UPDATE: After a disappointing visit I was pleasantly surprised when the restaurant personally reached out to apologize and take responsibility. Their sincerity and commitment to making things right really stood out. While our experience that night wasn’t great, I appreciate the effort they’ve made and will give them another try soon. Gorgeous Italian restaurant located very close to the sea front. Came for a meal with my wife, first time visit. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great choice of food on the menu at very reasonable prices. All the dishes tasted perfect. The house wine went down a treat too. Highly recommend a visit here, a solid 5 star restaurant.

Lovely people, food great and reasonably priced

Went with two friends for a meal. The food was stunning! Wish we tried one of the sharing board so will definitely be back for them. I got the nduja ravioli and it was gorgeous. Cocktails were fabulous, easily one of my fave espresso martinis in Leeds. The cannoli dessert was lush! Would go back for it again also!

Friendly place with fantastic food. Everything was delicious, the staff were great. No complaints.

We arrived at opening time 5.30 just after my husbands Hospital appointment hopeing for a pleasant place to eat. the place was empty. The starters we ordered were very nice. My husband ordered Halibut which was dry & poorly cooked which was not charged for thats fair enough. My risotto was cooked with basmati rice & by the look of it had the same tomatoe sauce stirred through it as my starter. The waiters & waitress were very sullen not at all friendly like Italian restuarant's iv been in where there is a really warm atmosphere. When my husband ordered a liquor at the end of the meal the waiter said you have 15 mins then we need the table. I couldn't believe their rude attitude. Appalling I won't be going back.

We were out celebrating a birthday at La Cantina last night. The four of of us had an extremely enjoyable evening with superb service, excellent food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. This was my very first visit, as I had never known of its existence prior to this and I must say I will be returning to sample some more of their enticing menu. I had the Mediterranean Mixed Kebab meal which was sumptuous. I would recommend this to BBQ Steak and Fish lovers wholeheartedly. Brilliant job La Cantina!

Trabajé en Poco durante un par de meses en la tienda Headingley y disfruté de mi tiempo trabajando allí. La comida es excelente, hecha fresca por chefs que se preocupan por la comida que están haciendo. Hay una gran selección de postres y cosas saladas, cambiando semanalmente, lo cual es genial si quieres variedad en lo que estás recibiendo. Mis favoritos fueron los Calzones y los Arancini (¡tanto los sabores como las opciones vegetarianas son geniales!). Los desiertos son deliciosos y muy variados, así que hay mucho para elegir. La crema fresca Bomboloni, o pistacho Aragastina o Cannoli son mis favoritas. Pero todo es delicioso y vale la pena probarlo. Trabajar allí fue bueno. Detrás de escena hay mucho que hacer de gente trabajadora que quiere traer una porción de la cultura alimentaria siciliana a Leeds. Bruno, gerente de la sucursal de Headingley, es un tipo maravilloso que se preocupa profundamente por su herencia siciliana y proporciona a los demás una experiencia gastronómica que refleja la alegría y el deleite de la cultura gastronómica que experimentó al crecer en Italia.
