Lugana Italian Restaurant in Bromley

Booked a last minute reservation with Lugana for my wife’s birthday. Genuinely had an amazing experience, the atmosphere was lively, the dining area had warmth and was packed with customers, not a single empty table. The food felt as if we were dining in Italy itself, I had chosen Penne Arrabiata, the chef kindly swapped the penne to spaghetti upon my request, and honestly it was the best pasta I have had in years, loads of garlic and the right amount of spice. Above all, what we loved about Lugana was its friendly staff. We had a lovely waitress in Sofia, who attended to our every need, we had our 20 month old son with us, before we even needed to ask, she had us covered, whether it was to keep him occupied whilst we ate, to getting us refresher tissues to clean up plus all her recommendations were on point with regards to the food. She also noted that it was a special occasion in terms of my wife’s birthday, without even me telling her. The staff sang happy birthday as well as put a candle on our tiramisu. Will definitely go again, such a wonderful team of people.

Love this restaurant, the staff are so attentive, amazing value for fresh food, we celebrated my dad's birthday and the staff made a real fuss over him . 3 course menu deal is great value for money , the cheesecake was to die for.

My husband, Dad and 2 children went to Lugana on Christmas Day for dinner. This was the 6th year in a row we have done this and every time it’s amazing! The staff are all fabulous and so lovely and the food is amazing. We have already booked for next Christmas. I can’t thank everyone enough for giving up their Christmas Day to make ours so special. Thank you.

Excellent New Year’s Eve lunch with the family. Amazing food at reasonable prices - calamari, aubergine, ravioli, prawn linguine and banoffee. Kids menu was also great value. Very friendly and attentive staff. Glad we asked to sit in the main area instead of the front outdoor bit as atmosphere was much nicer than sitting alone!

We chose Lugana based on Tripadvisor reviews. We wanted a nice restaurant for lunch and were not disappointed with Laguna. Service was friendly and timely, food was of the highest quality. We had Pollo Alla Milanese and the chicken was so tender and succulent. The Linguine Alla Pescatore was brimming with seafood, Giant Prawns, Mussells and Clams - delicious. Background music gave an authentic feel about being in Italy. We will definitely be back.

Had a meal here recently to celebrate a birthday with friends and had a pleasant experience. Elegant interiors and friendly staff greeted us and we were led to our table. It was a bit busy but we didn't feel rushed or that the place was bursting. Good wine, delicious hot chocolate and since it was a Sunday afternoon, we decided to get the seafood starter lamb and seafood roast. The food was delicious and elegantly plated and looked like art. The courgette fries were a bit disappointing though as they were soggy and the coating had all vanished so it felt like we were having raw courgette slices. That tiny blip aside, the afternoon went perfect and the cheesecake at the end made it even more memorable.

My absolute first choice of restaurant on any day at any time. The staff are friendly and smiling, and cannot do enough for you. There is a wonderful ambience at Lugana that is missing from so many restaurants. They welcome you back like family every time. The staff all know and love food. Never tasted better steak. The tomahawk is the best. You can never go wrong choosing Lugana.

It's our favorite Italian restaurant of all time. The food is fantastic, the staff are amazing and it is consistently enjoyable. We are always welcomed and treated so warmly. I am a stickler for fresh fish being super fresh and usually go for the seabass, it is always delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked. My husband enjoys the arrabbiata pasta. I can also recommend the chicken risotto, it's full flavoured with plenty of good quality chicken. Portion sizes are very generous and great value for money. Puddings are delicious, the apple pie is light and not too sweet served with quality vanilla ice cream. the tiramisu is fab. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Good. Cannelloni de la casa was good for main; £15 total price. Had good flavour and was something that would be difficult for me to make at home. The service charge of 10% was clearly explained on their online menu beforehand so I was expecting it and I factored it into my decision making. The service was good. They have a good service ethos at Lugana. The restaurant is spacious and formal but not overly formal. The tiramisu just tasted like the tiramisu I buy at Tesco for like £2 and I get loads of tiramisu from Tesco for. So that's something Lugana could improve on.

Sunday lunch for 9 adults and 5 children to celebrate my 75th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was attentive but not intrusive. This is our 'Go to' local restaurant. If you have a family celebration try this address, you won't be disappointed.

Was searching locally for a lunch venue with Tapas tbh. Local restaurant we’d gone to weren’t serving lunch on this day, Lugana was on my list , despite non tapas … well …. First time there and seriously loved it .. we both went for set menu starter and main … £19.95 ph. We both went for fish starter and corn fed chicken main … omg portions superb. Absolutely lush. Service, price 10/10 … doggy bag for us both as were ni-on full after starter lol … will be back ! Thank you soo much Lugana staff /Management … HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🥰

Lugana is my favourite restaurant in South London. I visit with family at least once a week and plan to do so for the foreseeable. Both the food and the service is impeccable.

A lovely 2 course meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The house wine was delicious and so was the food. Service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome.

We go to Lugana regularly because the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great and the people who work there always welcome us like family. We love this place and highly recommend it. The sea-bass is always fresh and I am super fussy about fish being fresh. Pasta is great and puddings are delicious. Large portions too. Most of all the staff are such wonderful people and nothing is too much trouble!

Incredibly rude service. Ate here on a Sunday, and made to feel like second class citizens because we didn’t want cocktails… not all of us are big drinkers, sorry. Thought we’d give them another chance but tried to book for an evening a few days in advance through the website, no response, and then waiter incredibly rude when we arrived to see if they had a table for us. We are perhaps younger than the typical clientele but have plenty of money to spend. We’ll be taking it to Bella Roma from now on, and avoiding the rudeness here.

Fantastic! Fantastic food! Outstanding staff! Very attentive helpful staff. Quality of ingredients used in the meals is outstanding. We love to have lunch and evening meals, always outstanding and exceeds our expectations!

Lugana was recommended to us, so we made the long journey for a Saturday evening family meal. This place us a real jewel in Beckenham with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food with good portion sizes. This is now our number one choice for an Italian restaurant and we will definitely be back.

Had a very pleasant evening, some of the best food around the area. Parking can be a bit problematic, but do-able. They were kind enough to fit us in last minute on a busy Saturday night, most appreciated. Will go again

Never in my life have I been treated in such a way, my family and I were completely disregarded. In todays day and age i’m shocked that there are still establishments with indiscreet racism. Never again!

Consistently good food, with good service. Quality of food is decent be it meat or fish, with good portion sizes. It is good value & whilst not the cheapest it is well worth it. Always a warm welcome with attentive staff.

We loved the place. The price was mid range, but, so so much value for the price considering the quantity and quality. Compared to another posh Italian restaurant in Beckenham, this one is leagues ahead. Loved the Figato and the lasagne (my mouth is still burnt from eating it too fast) the bread was super soft and the crab on toast although under seasoned, it was so nice. Tiramisu was not the best but not bad. The quantity is really like being fed at your granny's home and the servers are so nice. Please go here!

Love the service, atmosphere and staff, however the food has really been disappointing on two visits. Chicken risotto just tasted like it was swimming in a tin of tomato soup, it could have been named soup with rice. Mussels had no garlic or cream was just a thin lemon and wine acidic sauce. Mussels were barely open so undercooked and couldn't be eaten. Aubergine dish was soggy and so bland, no garlic no basil or fresh herbs. The sauce tasted like a tin of chopped tomatoes had been thrown on. I'm not italian, but I can make much tastier italian dishes, so will sadly not be returning. Shame as I do like the place. Sack or train your chef please 🙏 or call in Gordon Ramsey

My favourite restaurant. Never had a bad experience. Food is always delicious, the set menus are fantastic value & there is a great choice. Our friend needs a special diet & the chef can always adjust the menu to suit which is very reassuring. Staff are friendly, welcoming & attentive without being intrusive. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Sunday lunch at Lugana - as always the warmest of welcomes even though the restaurant was fully booked with happy diners. The staff managed to find time for everyone, even helped with a few photos. The roast lunches are very generous portions and great quality. Well worth a visit!

Went for lunch so atmosphere was appropriate for lunch service. Food was very good, possibly one of the best veal escalopes I've had. Will be back.

We went for lunch without booking and were lucky to get a table, the place was busy. We chose from the set menu. The food was tasty, well presented and the portion sizes generous. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ambient music was on too short a loop though, I think we heard 'O sole mio' three times.

An excellent neighbourhood Italian restaurant within walking distance of Elmers End tram stop and railway station. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. It’s worth saving space for the run baba dessert!

Visited Lugana this afternoon for my husband’s birthday lunch. I have mixed feelings about the experience. The food and service was fabulous, the majority of the staff were kind and attentive. However the head waiter let the team down he didn’t make us feel welcome throughout our time there. This was so disappointing as it was obvious that he was pleasant and smiling with all of the other parties in the restaurant. I hate to say it but we were the only group of ethnic minority so it was quite blatant and hard to ignore. However it was nice when the team brought my husband dessert with a candle and sung happy birthday🙂Not sure if we’ll visit again a warm welcome is essential in hospitality and everyone needs to feel accepted.

I have been to this place twice and the service is terrible, as a black person the staff blatantly ignore you and treat you as if you are a second class citizen. Other families got served before us even though they came after us and we had been there for half an hour and no one even cared to ask us for an order. It’s a real shame and it’s indiscreet racism. Will never go back.

We have dined at Lugana many times and we keep going back. The staff are very polite and friendly. The manager Camillo , always makes sure he comes to talk to us. But more importantly, the food is superb at Lugana. I have tried various things on the menu and the food never disappoints! Also very good atmosphere.

Absolutely beautiful food. The steak is possibly the best steak I've ever had, it really is that nice. Good atmosphere and service. You can wait a little on a busy Saturday night but that takes away nothing from the enjoyment though in my opinion.

We have dined at Lugana’s on several occasions with friends and have always been very impressed with the standard of cuisine and service. We belong to a Gourmet Society; and when it came to our turn to recommend our favourite restaurant, we chose Lugana’s for a lunch with 20 members last March. The event was a huge success thanks to the professionalism and organisational skills of both Camillo and Arta, ably supported by their team. We selected from the party menu, but everyone chose their dishes in advance; and on the day the standard of cuisine and level of service were second to none. The meal was memorable and thoroughly enjoyed by all; and some of the group have even mentioned it recently, almost a year later. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. Best Sunday roast in Beckenham. We have been to most of the restaurants near by but nothing beats this. Friendly staff, quality food and decent portions.

Service was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, smiley staff. Cant praise them enough. Food was gorgeous. Large portions and extremely tasty. From walking in the door to leaving they made us feel special and they were really attentive but not overbearing. Atmosphere was lovely and upbeat too. Clearly everyone else was treated in such a lovely way.

First time coming here with my family, The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent despite them being extremely busy on Christmas eve. Everything came promptly and we were very well taken care of. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning very soon.

Wr had a table booked for 6 people; specifically a round table. When we arrived the table was not ready and there was no urgency in getting the table ready for us. We were offered a drink at another table but that didn't come either. Other people ordered their drinks after us and they were bought before ours. It was clear that the restaurant had tried to get as many people booked as possible but did not have the staff to cater. Will definitely not be hoping back

We were the booking from hell! One unexpected person turned up. No problem the staff relaid the table. Then another party member was a no show. Again, no problem they relaid the table again. No-one seemed to be able to decide what they wanted for any of the three courses we had. We had a lovely corner alcove, perfect for a family lunch. The service was excellent; the food even better. Every element of the meal was delicious and authentic. Thanks so much to the staff and...sorry!

Very old fashioned menu. If you have allergies or happen to be vegetarian or vegan the choice is extremely limited. Despite being reassured when booking, as a vegan there tomato pasta… that’s about all! Great atmosphere but needs to move with the times!

Absolutely love this Italian. We have been a couple of times, on our own and with friends. The staff are always happy to accommodate and give off a really friendly vibe, much like a family. The food is top notch, I would highly recommend trying the mussels and lasagne. The wine is extremely good too. If you are in the area and want some Italian then this is the place for sure.

Have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions when the food has been really good. However, on this occasion had a mackerel starter bathed in oil and within three hours of leaving the restaurant was violently sick., pointing to something amiss with the starter

Okay, I love Italian food. I have been to many Italian restaurants and had my favorites that could not be beaten. Well, I am sorry to say this one took me by surprise and blew me away. The service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food were the best I have ever had, I went there with my girlfriend and her son and partner. Every dish I had to taste was perfect, the Olives were stunning nd the cheesecake OMG was mind-blowing. We will be regulars for sure. See you soon guys

First time at this restaurant and wasn’t disappointed an old style Italian restaurant serving fresh well prepared food. Well balanced in terms of courses coming out, not rushed in anyway. Portion sizes were excellent and all 4 of us enjoyed our courses. A good selection of wines to suit ever taste and pocket. Would we go again definitely

Incredible food and incredible pleasant staff

Went for Sunday dinner, nice atmosphere and service was good. Had Minestrone soup for starters, it was very watery, maybe some small pasta to thicken it or a roll to accompany it, partner had prawns and salmon which he said was lovely. Roast dinner, beef was nice, didn't have much on my plate, but my partner had a couple of decent slices, both of our vegetables were undercooked and hard, the roast pototes resembled pototoe wedges, they were boiled and hard not roasted, so for us dinner was a disappointment. The place was packed and maybe, if it wasn't full to compasity, more time would of gone into cooking the food, However. Presentation was good, service and resonsbly priced. Would come again for Italian food.
