We was excited as it had good reviews, but the starter was okay and the mains was shocking - carbonara drenched in oil - feel like it was frozen then fried! The sea-bass prawn “special” was atrocious - served me raw fish and when we told them the manager was shouting from across the room saying it was simply the fat and he can re-cook it for me. A horrible experience and we will not be returning and do not recommend.

Went to visit the old friend Angelo here in UK and got pleased to have here in Penge our authentic italian dishes, flavours, and atmosphere. Many thanks my friend, and best wishis for your business: a slice of good Italy on the British plate.

Great experience Food is simply great. Staff is lovely, kind and friendly Place is quite, there is music in the back ground to make the experience better and is not very busy allowing you to talk without a lot of noise Food is very tasty and well served. Portions are very well sized I recommend Prices are good as well

A local gem! Excellent service, the team are welcoming and attentive. Food is delicious, flavoursome and comforting. Great value portion sizes. Accessible venue, modern and tasteful decor.

Extremadamente decepcionado, ya que ha cambiado de propietario, y como cliente desde hace mucho tiempo se ha ido drásticamente cuesta abajo. Un personal de espera llevaba un mono gris claro muy ajustado, que era totalmente inapropiado por muchas razones que no mencionaré .. la comida era bastante sosa, especialmente el plato que pidió mi amigo. Cuando pedimos los gin tonics otra camarera colocó el gin tonic en nuestra mesa sin verter un poco de tonic en nuestras copas (así que no tenía entrenamiento) a la llegada a las 8 pm el restaurante principal estaba prácticamente vacío un sábado por la noche. ¡De tener nuestro entrante compartido nuestro plato fuerte fue servido inmediatamente! Así que es una gran lástima como mi amigo y yo apoyamos a las empresas locales, y después de recibir una factura de poco menos de 100 libras. 00 por una acción entrante de bruschetta una botella de vino tinto de la casa, un espagueti y un plato de lubina con verduras... Me temo que no es aceptable para un restaurante local.

Booked my staff Christmas party on Sunday 1st December Table for 12 people On arrival the table had nothing even remotely like a Christmas party absolutely nothing We were forced to order starters and main all together We arrived at 3pm and everything was ok all having a laugh and chat and then I was told that we had to leave by 5,30 as they had another booking coming !!!!! Well on booking I wasn’t made aware of this at all , the manager was quite rude after he got his almost £700 bill payed and we were really literally pushed onto the street outside with a mention of a coffee or a taxi , the ladies in the group were all freezing and very shocked , I urge people to not go to this place , if you want beautiful authentic Italian food then Trattoria Raff in Sydenham is your best bet it’s amazing and such impeccable service .

Reservé mi fiesta de personal hace semanas para una mesa para 12 personas a las 3 pm , el menú era prácticamente el mismo que siempre excepto que realmente no atienden a dieta vegetariana o sin gluten , todos comimos y el vino fluía entre otras bebidas y luego me dijeron que teníamos que irnos a las 5 , 30 porque se acercaba otra fiesta ! ! ! ! Cuando reservé su no había mención de esta reserva apresurada, la cuenta era de £ 650 por lo que no como si no gastamos y si nos hubieran permitido disfrutar de la mesa la cuenta habría sido probablemente el doble. Nos empujaron a la calle para encontrar taxis y formas de llegar a casa y francamente fue todo un poco embarazoso para mí que era el anfitrión. Por favor, no vaya allí y gastar dinero, ya que ha bajado seriamente colina abajo. Nunca volveré a ese lugar , es una pena ya que he estado yendo durante años pero bueno vamos todos a Sydenham a Trattoria Raffaele son tan profesionales y la comida es maravillosa, el servicio es increíble y verdadera auténtica comida italiana . Muy decepcionante y mi fiesta de Navidad se arruinó. Bien hecho.

I have visited this lovely little restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and engage in conversation to find out how we are. The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a small but authentic Italian restaurant!

I visited the restaurant last week with my daughter, who was in the UK for a short period. I'd wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. Everything was EXCELLENT ! The place looks great, the owners/staff were welcoming and everything was completely perfect !! All the staff seemed to be enjoying being there. The food was excellent and it was JUST A JOY to be there !! Thanks to all concerned !! I hope to return soon.

As a local, we keep returning as the food is so authentic. I always go for ravioli but if you love seafood then this is place to experience what they have on offer. As with other reviews I also had the cheesecake and wow, it’s so light and handmade. The only criticism is maybe place a couple of mints or chocolates on the bill which is always a nice gesture. We’re very lucky to live so close and will return for sure.

Good food, lovely staff, decent ambience. It would be very hard to find fault at these prices. We loved it!

Had the Milanese Chicken with pasta this evening, was absolutely bellissimo! Extremely flavourful, great portion size and tasted authentically Italian. Will definitely be returning to eat here again!

The food was very good but they put a little bit to much cheese and it had not very much beef the food took a lot longer then I thought but the restaurant looked good and the staff were very nice and also friendly.

The best Italian I have ever been to! the service was exceptional from start to finish and the food was out of this world. May 24- visited for a special offer lunch. Beautiful prawn linguine. A great restaurant -stands the test of time over 20 years.Loved the meal - a pick up this time the flavours were exquisite - thank you the team at FOF and those far away.

Nice traditional Italian restaurant. I had Milanese chicken which had a very large portion of chicken. The linguine with it was very nice and tasty but chicken was bland and tasteless so I wish I had had pasta or fish instead

My sister and I went here today. The man who served us was really lovely. We loved the food. The restaurant literally is a diamond in the rough. Quite cute. I cannot fault it. We were given a Lemoncello shot afterwards. We will return.

Good food and excellent service

🤢🤢🤢Appalling experience, especially on what was supposed to be a special Mother's Day outing. We tried to cancel our reservation due to a personal emergency, but our several calls were persistently ignored and their website was down, leaving us with no way to notify them in advance. Shockingly, they imposed a £40 no-show deposit fee, despite their own communication failures. Very cunning of them to not allow us to cancel and then they called us 20 minutes after our scheduled reservation, only to rudely hang up when we attempted to explain our situation. This utter disregard for customer service on a day meant for celebration was deeply upsetting. Also, an Italian restaurant doesn't have pizza on their menu is shocking and disappointing. Steer clear of this place if you value your time, money, and the significance of special occasions.

Booked again for Mother’s Day and as usual very happy Place was very busy but service was very attentive and the waitress was very nice. Food was amazing particularly the linguine Lobster and the scallops Can’t wait for the next visit

I went to Friends of Flavours after been told by a friend and i was very happy with the food and service The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was great The manager was very happy to make suggestions. Dessert are really nice particularly the homemade tiramisu and the cheesecake I will return for sure

We will never go back here. We eat out 3 times a week. The first visit here was good, even though they got my husband's meal wrong. They adjusted it and it was ok. Tonight we went here. Starters were good but way smaller. The mains....both pasta very undercooked...erring towards raw. My food was incredibly salty. No checking to see if food was good. I ate barely any. When the bill came I explained that mine was inedible. I paid the bill anyway (including service which was mediocre at best) and no discount. Complete waste of money and we will never eat there again.

Outrageous. Read the menu online. Decided on a bottle of Gavi £37.50 on the website but got charged £52 in the restaurant. Apparently the website is out of date so beware!!! Ridiculous for Penge. Try and support a local restaurant but they are taking the mickey!

Superb restaurant for any type of dining.

We made our 1st visit today and were very pleased with all we saw and ate. We arrived at 1pm and found the restaurant more or less empty - not a good sign? Angelo greeted us and within minutes we relaxed, sensing from his relaxed and comfortable style that we were in capable hands. The menu has plenty of choice and a nice balance of old favourites and some new and unusual dishes. My wife had king prawns in a beer tempura batter, beautifully presented and shell off! To follow she had a nicely displayed mixed grilled fish selection, featuring sea bream, a whole calamari and prawns with some fabulous skin on chips. To follow she demolished a very nicely decorated home made panna cotta. I started with a trio of bruschetta topped with liver and leeks. My main was a masterful chicken milanese with linguine in a cherry tomato sauce - fabulous. To follow was a homemade cheesecake that was utterly Devine. The fluid side was started with an ice cold Ichnusa non filtrata, one of my favourite beers from the island of Sardinia. We had a couple of glasses of a silky smooth Primitivo and 2 glasses of a mellow Recioto (excellent). I can confidently say that we will be returning to further explore the menu. As a side note, we were pleasantly surprised to find that parking nearby was easy to find and was free. The nearby side roads are only affected by residents permits between 10am and midday and are free at all other times.

I took my italian boyfriend to Friends od Flavours for dinner after reading some good review and i we were Both very happy with the food and specially with the service i would for surę recommend this restaurant

Ordered Steaks which were both tough & chewy! Not the quality you expect from an advertised Prime Cut Steaks! Didn’t want to make a scene & send back so ate half each then decided to complain. The rude chef/manager came abruptly out of the kitchen to our tables & refused to except our complaint choosing instead to go to his freezer & obtain a large frozen piece of meat thrusting it at us by our table insisting there was no issue with his meats however that was not the case & chose to ignore our request for a complimentary desert. We refused to pay the service charge or spend anymore money & left. This is not the first time we had cause to complain & despite giving the restaurant repeated opportunities to improve their customer service,yet again we have had cause to complain. Their meats are not to the quality they think they are.Would suggest the family owners need to attend a course in customer relations. AVOID!! Esp’ Steak & Liver!

Went for a group meal on a Saturday night. Food was nice and generally large portion sizes for the main courses. Atmosphere was relaxed and a nice mix of local people of all ages eating in. Particularly good if you like sea food options.

Wednesday evening and went in without a reservation. Sat at table 1, great for a couple! Prosecco was cold and bubbly, food was delicious!

Waiter got the drinks wrong. Main took an hour, chicken was dry. Spent half our time twiddling our thumbs. They still tried to service charge, I didn't pay it.

We use to use this restaurant when they were based in Beckenham and kept meaning to go to the new location. Well we cannot believe that we have taken so long as it was amazing then and it is even more amazing now… the food...

Really enjoyed our meal at this fun neighbourhood place. From the outside it looks nice enough but inside its really lovely, plenty of space but also not too big. The food is really fantastic, we had baked mushrooms, Greek salad, lasagnati, sage and butter ravioli, and cheesecake for dessert. The wine, especially the dessert wine, was great. Can't fault the service either, really friendly. Great little place.

Friends of Flavours is a charming Italian restaurant in Penge. We had such tasty food this evening: goats cheese salad with raspberry dressing and walnuts and baked mushrooms in Gorgonzola sauce served with garlic bread to start. Our mains were incredible - the Lasagnati (with beef Bolognese cream, Mozzarella & Parmigiano) and Ravioli spinach and ricotta in butter, Parmesan and sage sauce - were really beautiful plates of food. Dessert - the Bruno cheesecake - was so creamy and delicious and the dessert wine sublime. Service was very professional and charming and I really enjoyed the music too - a great evening.

Cute restaurant off main Penge High Street. My Milanese chicken was great - huge piece of chicken in a crispy batter. Delicious. But I wasn’t so keen on the linguini with cherry tomatoes as the tomato skins remained in the sauce. Hub enjoyed the pollo cacciatore which was again huge. For big eaters.

I always desired to eat here, passing it many times& my wish came true! The flavours and quality of the food did not disappoint! The restaurant staff are friendly & the restaurant itself has a cozy feel. I'll definitely be returning :-)

The food is divine and filling... I enjoyed every bite... 👒 off to the chef Unfortunately the service was intense. Sitting at the front i found restaurant is quite small and the staff just stared at us, which I found awkward especially while eating, it was very uncomfortable, as well as the lady making a discussion based around paying the tips. I think people fail to realise as much as prices are going up as a customer I do not have to pay extra for the service by choice. Its not to be discussed, its quite insulting. I'd appreciate paying for what I have ordered. The staff were pleasant but I found the experience uncomfortable. But to be fair I'd return to the restaurant for the food and hope for a more smooth relaxed experience in future 😌 The Kids Ate It All which is definitely a PLUS ➕

Used to be much better place. Not sure... Maybe the owner on management changed, but from one of the best Italian restaurant in the area they went to average i would say. Food it's still good but not as great as used to. Service from super friendly and chatty went to again average. Can't say that it was bad experience but we used to really enjoy visiting that place. Our last visit wasn't that welcoming in my opinion. Hopefully it was just a one time situation and our next visit will be as good at it used to

Our first visit to this great restaurant. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. I had the seafood casserole which was delicious. I highly reccomend this restaurant. Ten out of ten for everything.
