Cin Cin in Brighton and Hove

Excellent food & friendly service. Reasonable prices too. I had the pasta (perfectly cooked) with duck ragu; a generous portion of robustly flavoured food. My wife had sea bream which she pronounced to be delicious though paired with a heavily flavoured Jerusalem artichoke & tomato sauce which perhaps drowned out the delicacy of the fish. We both enjoyed our choice of wine. The house Cin Cin red is very good. Decent espresso she says

We dropped in without a reservation walking back from town early on a Saturday evening, the guys were very welcoming and found us a space at the counter. As usual the food was fantastic the arancini absolutely delicious as were the two special’s caramelle of salt cod, squid ink roasted porcine kale and picked girolles and Venison osso bucco al a Milanese, both really flavoursome with generous portions. The staff really enhance the experience knowledgable ,attentive friendly and fun.

Really great experience, food excellent, service fine also. It was a very cold evening and in the back area it wasn’t terribly warm. The kitchen staff did a great job. Next time I’d eat at the bar!

We had the NYE at home box and was really impressed with the delicious simplicity of the 3 course meal. So easy to prepare and SO tasty, can’t stop thinking about it. Highly recommended

What a terrific place this is! Deserving 5 stars for everything. The food is outstanding and a treat to sit by the kitchen to see the team at work. We were made extremely welcome and service was just right. The place was busy.. which says a great deal. Worthy of all its accolades. We will be back soon.

Managed to get a last minute booking and we opted for the tasting menu. Every course was delicious & presented well. The wine pairing was so good despite me being apprehensive when I saw “Lambrusco” on the first course pairing! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable & happy. We will be back. We found it good value and would definitely recommend the tasting menu.

Came here with my girlfriend for her birthday. Everything was exceptional, food, cocktails, service, ambience. We sat at the bar and the chefs and waiting staff took time to talk us through the dishes and drinks. Enjoyed every dish, the arancino, ragu and venison special were all amazing. High end Italian scran in a relaxed atmosphere.

A fabulous restaurant. Miguel really looked after us, the service was faultless. The food was amazing. The arancini starter was delicious. The special venison dish was excellent. The tables are close together, which initially is a bit off putting, but we got over this. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Amazing food at a reasonable price and really nice service

Initially we were a little surprised at how the restaurant is arranged, with a large central seating area, high stool seating and then a larger table area at the back, Our seats at the front, worked out okay, but maybe check if you are adverse to stool seating or prefer a standard table set up. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Taking time to explain the dishes, checking all was well and not rushing you. We had an amazing food experience. Every dish was a unique joy. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and will certainly return!

Made a last minute booking and thought we would try the 5 course taster menu. One veggie version. One meat. I also had the wine flight. Stunning. Every course was a delight. So surprised to get the level of quality from what I thought was just a regular Italian round the corner from our house. I now see why they have won so many awards including a Michlen Bib. The service was excellent as we were talked through each course in detail and the reasons for the wine pairing. Great staff. Fabulous atmosphere and good value. We will return very soon. Highly recommended 👌

Just popped in to take advantage of the early evening special and it was fantastic. Amazing food, we didn’t drink as it’s early, but the drinks list is impressive. As a chef myself and I’m very particular about eating out as I know the industry too well I was very impressed

Can’t wait to go back. Everything on the menu was very tempting so it was hard to choose but we were delighted with our selection. The chefs clearly love what they do and the chocolate torte is a must! Service was attentive but not intrusive. We’re definitely going back!

We had a wonderful time at CinCin, the staff really looked after us and provided an unforgettable experience. The food is really unique and provides something different to other Italians, with very fresh flavours and delicious combinations eg the lamb tagliatelle! They still have the usual classics eg tiramisu which was delicious - velvety and rich, obviously of a very good quality and the best way to end the meal. Thanks again, we can’t wait to come back.

Amazing food both times me and my partner have been. We had the chefs menu both times and just loved being able to try so many different things from the menu. We shared the wine flight both times and would definitely recommend - really adds to the experience and the staff are so knowledgeable about each dish and each wine accompaniment. The portions are a really good size and the food is so creative and different, but always tastes amazing. Would definitely recommend!!

Went for the lunch menu, had the polenta and then the tagliatelle. Both were gorgeous. Shared a bottle of the house white, which was lovely!

*Updated from original review* The Owner took the trouble to reach out and discuss my issues which shows that they care about their business! A little disappointed to be honest seeing as our bill for two was north of £120 plus service for snacks, a Negroni, a glass of Lambrusco, two large glasses of rose, two starters, two main courses and two sides The food was good quality let down by the portion size. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and we were given a small table to the rear, the very next couple that came in rather than giving us some space were parked right next to us elbow to elbow. The staff were very nice throughout our visit.

Have eaten here countless times and also recently took part in their pasta masterclass. The food is always fantastic, the staff friendly and we will keep coming back

Great authentic Italian kitchen.

I have been eating at Cin Cin since they first opened, and after an incredible lunch today, I wanted to try to put in words the feelings, thoughts and admiration that come from each meal I have had there. Cin Cin doesn't serve just good italian food, it's a place you go if you are eager to learn the origins and history of the most authentic cuisine and wines, from its products, farmers, producers, recepies, atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, that in Italy has been passed from generation to generation throughout centuries to the modern days, but sadly have started to disappear and be forgotten even within Italy itself, and that more than ever count on passionate, dedicated, perseviring, honest, talented people like Jamie and David to be kept alive. Every meal brings me down to memory lane where I grew up, the smell and taste of my mother, grondmothers, aunties and their family friends cooking evry single day all their family recepies, the scent of my family vineyards.. Thank you Jamie and David for keeping that wonderful complex world of each corner of Italy alive and not be forgotten.

As a regular at Cin Cin's London restaurant in Bloomsbury I have never had a bad experience. From the friendly welcome, to the great recommendations and delicious food, it is always a pleasure to enjoy the amazing tiramisu or a new pasta recipe!

I had the Gorgonzola ravioli with ragu and I have never tasted a saltier meal. My partner had risotto which was much nicer and balanced. The focaccia was also a disappointment and like a loaf of hovis bread. Wasn’t impressed for the price.

Was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. Unfortunately, we found the service to be painfully slow. Food to be underwhelming and found the whole meal expensive and disappointed.

Always love my visits to Cin Cin Hove - food is amazing, service is always wonderful and the at home boxes are amazing value and so easy! On our latest visit this weekend, our server even offered a little wine tasting based on my food order so I could try something else I might like :) was really lovely service, felt really looked after and the meal was delicious as always! Nduja Ragu highly recommended :) :)

Fantastic little restaurant that we were recommended by a friend, we decided to go all-in and do the taster menu and flight of wine. The Panelle with Nduja Kimchi was my favourite dish followed very closely by the Arancino. So good. The barman did mix up the wine order at one point but resolved the situation quickly and with little fuss by giving us a free glass. An all round great experience and good value for money. I feel this place is only going to get more popular and more expensive so visit soon!

This place beat all my expectations and then some. From the amazing food, to the unique dining experience next to the kitchen, to the chef taking time out of his shift to speak with us. This was hands down one of the best experiences we have had ina while. Thank you to everyone working and look forward to seeing you one day again!

Absolutely amazing! Best Italian restaurant I have ever been and my new favourite place in Hove!

Unfortunately not the best today....no complaints at all about the food...delicious....however at 2pm on a Friday afternoon with no customers visible in the restaurant...I expect someone to greet us....took at least 3 minutes. We really enjoyed the foccacchia bread...2 courses 4 £18 ....bargain 4 lunch however a bit of competion in Hove. Do feel we were cheated on bottle of wine...not advertised...unless I have missed it...yes we had cheapest however £29 ...not bad compared to some however it did not come out of a bottle...it came draft...tasted good however ....please advertise this. Unfortunately we won't be back ...always of the belief give somewhere a try...not for us today

Just a fantastic place; engaged, genuine service and attention from all members of staff, absolutely delicious and novel food . Restaurant itself offers a range of seating varieties which takes into account different size of parties and different occasions. Love it!

Chilled atmosphere to eat very decent food! Sitting side by side on stools right next to the chefs, watching them create our dinner was fun, staff laid back but very efficient and David the owner was perfectly charming, making us feel so welcome. Small uncomplicated menu and specials board and nice wine list. We had a lovely evening and would absolutely recommend going out of your way for a meal at Cin Cin.

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere with excellent food and a great playlist. Chef was happy to go out of his way to make me a vegetarian dish but I opted for the vegetarian dish on the menu. It was absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and a joy to speak to.

Excellent food from a very knowledgeable chef and because of the layout of the kitchen in the middle he kept us informed of what he was doing the whole time. I am a vegetarian and he offered to make a special dish for me but I went for the vegetarian option on the menu - tagliatelle, wild mushrooms, sweetcorn and charred onion. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection and added a crispy texture to the tagliatelle. It was so flavourful that I didn’t want it to end! All of the staff were extremely friendly and it was a pleasure to talk to them all. It was cold and rainy outside but inside was warm and welcoming.

Food was even better than I remembered from the first time I visited. I've already made another reservation! Really enjoyed the a la carte menu. Every dish had a fantastic mix of flavours and was really well balanced. Lovely dining atmosphere at the bar and very attentive and knowledgeable staff.

Squid ink pasta was undercooked at the point of it being raw, and when told to the staff, nothing was taken off the bill. Rigatoni and tagliatelle was delicious and staff were nice but disappointed with the other pasta.

Sadly this visit was so disappointing compared to our first. Lamb arancino starter was tasteless, the burrata/aubergine starter average with some fairly ordinary salad underneath. The main rigatoni amatriciana was definitely undercooked as opposed to "al dente" with little sauce, no real flavour, small portion for the price. The mushroom linguine was bland and a strange idea to add sweetcorn and a bit of sliced onion. The tiramisu choux bun held such promise but was way too crispy and only half full of the tiramisu cream. Our initial experience of the food several months ago was outstanding, excellent and tasty. I'm not sure what has happened since but cannot honestly recommend following this occasion. Also not sure having the door open to the small area outside is great for the people right in front of the door as staff and customers are squeezing past constantly. Staff lovely, they were the best part. Cin Cin - would love you to go back to your previous high standards.

It was our first time but not our last. I am sure for me it was just one of those nights. We had the 5 course tasting menu. (Not all the wines were available) Sometimes we had the wine and other times it came after the delivery of food. Or we had the wine and waited 15 minutes for the food. So some issues on that level. Between us we also found a difference in the quality. I had a stodgy mushroom pasta which wasn’t seasoned. My partners was perfectly cooked and tasted great. I got a lean pork chop which was dry. My partner had a fatty juicy full of flavour pork chop. Overall the place has a great vibe. And next time I hope to get a better experience.

Just had to share my experience of Cin Cin tonight in Hove. Firstly let me say that the food was lovely and everyone in our party enjoyed everything we had. It was my nephews 21st birthday and the kitchen did a great birthday dessert for him which was fab. We had a great night laughing sharing stories about old times and just enjoying ourselves. There were only 6 of us having a family meal. So to be told 'can you keep it down because you are making too much noise and disturbing the other diners' was quite frankly astonishing. If we were shouting and screaming I would understand and hold my hand up but we were just a normal family having a great meal and enjoying ourselves. We were in no way overbearing and whoever complained must be an incredibly sensitive soul. To be shushed and told to be quiet was disrespectful and downright rude especially as the member of staff made sure everyone else in the restaurant heard. I am absolutely livid that we have just paid £500 to be treated like that. Obviously we will never eat there again and I will make sure to let everyone we know too steer well clear of a restaurant where having fun is frowned upon. Whatever reply you put on here will try and maintain we were overly loud. We were not we were just having a nice night with some laughs which is obviously frowned upon in Cin Cin. Really really poor experience and spoiled a special family occasion.

We’ve been to Cin Cin several times before and it was one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Brighton. But unfortunately the food was very disappointing this time. I ordered risotto and it was crunchy (not al dente) which I had to send it back. The other mains were ok but nothing special. The starters and the drinks were however great.

Another great evening eating delicious food at Cin Cin.

A reliably good choice for dining in Hove. The seating set up is a good mix of options with the main bar and open kitchen at the front having counter top seating that feels less formal and close to the staff and other diners. At the back there is a traditional seating area and then to the side they also have an outdoors dining area. They have a revolving selection of a la carte options and also a 5 course set menu which also features an optional wine pairing. We dined on the chef's menu for August and it was a filling selection of courses with my favourites being the lamb ragu arancini; deliciously crispy on the outside and then the perfect creamy texture inside with the risotto rice and the meaty ragu; also the mushroom tagliatelle which was a wonderful creamy, buttery sauce with the earthy and firm texture of the mushrooms that complimented it and then the sweetness that the sweetcorn brought to the dish. The main was then perfectly cooked pork, moist and tender, melt in your mouth texture, for our table the cannellini beans had a little too much bite to them but the flavours were good, it reminded me a little of a cassoulet. The service is great, the wine selection is a good spread of different wines from around Italy as well as cocktails. No reservations about recommending this place as a great choice for higher end Italian dining which is somewhat difficult to find and the ambiance and service of the venue make it a comfortable place for a special occasion.

The recent reviews have been a bit mixed. Some of them look pretty unfair. Perhaps they turned over a new leaf then tore right through it... A group of four of us came here for dinner on the recommendation of one of the couples during Pride weekend. We had a great time in this buzzy restaurant, with some very tasty food, some lovely wine and engaging service. It was all really good.
