Rostick in Eastbourne

Went out at 9pm found most local eateries were closed and stumbled across Rostick. The service, quality of food and friendliness of the owners/staff matched the excellent decor and ambiance. We had pasta dishes which were freshly cooked and delicious. Followed by an excellent Crème Brûlée. Cost was very reasonable, a perfect end to a lovely day!!

Visited for a family birthday 🥳 and had a fabulous lunch. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful with real attention to detail on flavours. The father and son team were so welcoming and clearly were passionate and proud of their restaurant. They went out of their way to ensure we all had a great time especially our elderly mother. Fresh seafood and beautiful pasta and salads we will definitely be back. Thank you!

We enjoyed a great evening at Rostick after an afternoon of culture at the theatre. They serve delicious Italian food in large helpings - be warned! My aubergine parmigiana was most tasty - almost as good as my own (!), and my halibut was beautifully cooked and presented, with at tasty sauce and an unusual pickled fennel accompaniment. My wife also enjoyed her scallops starter and Dover Sole main. My only criticism, which others will not share, is of the quantity of food on the plate, with (for me) some unnecessary garnishes. However, the friendliness of the staff more than compensated - huge thanks to Luis and Pedro!! The ambience is most pleasing and thankfully the musak is turned down to a low level. We had a bottle of white wine, digestifs and coffees. Our bill (with voluntary tip) came to £160, which unfortunately is par for the course nowadays. Highly recommended!

Fabulous meal on a busy Saturday night! We shared a starter (scallops), the restaurants speciality mutton skewers & finished with crème brûlée and limoncello sundae. Every mouthful was delicious; the service was perfect - attentive but not too much, especially as the place was completely full - glad I booked ahead. Beautifully decorated & great atmosphere. We’re not local sadly as we’d go here all the time but we will book in next time we’re in Eastbourne!

Really great food. Definitely the best I had in Eastbourne. Disappointed by the desserts. Everything is very classy and top quality until they give you a laminated menu with photos that you see kids get at beach cafes with 7 choices that aren’t homemade at £8….and 3 homemade desserts at £7. The owners son served me and was very professional. But when I was giving feedback about desserts to him which he was interested in his mother came over and was quite rude……something I’ve started to expect in Eastbourne! Also heard her berating staff for unpolished glasses while eating. Not what you want to hear! Will be a top quality venue when the owners take happy retirement and hand over to their son!

Having visited and eaten many times in Italy, I rarely go to Italian restaurants in this country as they are usually very inferior and can't hold a candle to the Italian ones. But here is an honourable exception. A truly great eating experience. Excellent food, drink and quietly informative staff. A really great find. Well done.

A group of us went for Christmas Day. Fabulous food with loads of choice, ranging from the usual daily menu to a high-end Christmas Special. And the service was first-class. Only one photo - of my scallop starter!

My first time here. Sunday night in November. Very quiet. The food was fabulous. Mussels were plump, tasty, with just the right amount of tomato, garlic and onion. Spaghetti bologna was great, just a little al dente. New owners, apparently, but very good. Wine was reasonably priced. Friendly staff, attentive but not overbearing. I hope to be back.

Our first visit since the change of ownership and it did not disappoint. Lovely welcome and atmosphere. The food was excellently cooked and served and was good value. We will certainly be returning soon and would thoroughly recommend it to others.

We had a dinner reservation and as soon as we walked in we’ve been welcomed with a big smile from both the manager and the (new) owner. We were a little undecided about which wine to ordered and when the owner came to take our order he suggested us a nice one to have with our meal, which we really liked. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was so nice and relaxed that we didn’t want to leave. We were offered a liqueur at the end of the meal but not wanting any more alcohol we declined, and we were offered one without alcohol, and we really appreciate it. Looking forward to many more dinners with you, we wish the new owners all the best.

We went to Rostick as it was only a few minutes walk from the Premiere Inn where we were staying and the weather was absolutely dreadful - the aftermath of Storm Ciarán. What an excellent choice it turned out to be. The food was imaginative and excellent and the service matched it, the staff being very helpful and informative. We were only in Eastbourne for the weekend, but it will definitely be a restaurant we will come back to next time we visit.

Me and my partner came here for dinner and we got to meet the new owners who are wonderful, they are super polite and made our evening fantastic. The food was very delicious and full of flavor. This is a really lovely Italian restaurant. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and nothing is to much trouble We had some wonderful oysters with all the trimmings followed by mussels in a gorgeous red sauce . We both had the Dover Sole which had a beautiful light wine and lemon sauce with a nice side of perfectly cooked veg and potato . A perfect dinner as far as we were concerned . They have also opened a very nice wine/oyster bar downstairs... a great place to have pre or after dinner drinks in the town .

Visited Rostik last month, to begin with was a lovely atmosphere until a huge reservation came in and we got forgotten about. The food was very tasty couldn't fault it but did not warrant the price and don't get me started on the price of drinks or the bitter coffee!! Will not be returning, and don't bother with a sarcastic reply, I already anticipate this!

Service is impeccable. Greeted like old friends. Very attentive. Food was delicious. Only got photos of starters as mains were so good couldn't resist tucking in before thinking of photos ! A good variety of food to choose from, including a specials menu. Excellent value for money, would have paid more as food is freshly made. Would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant.

Rude treatment on Saturday evening by an unfriendly Italian who did not want to accommodate us and immediately said tables are booked without even speaking to us whilst he was showing others in and offer them a table. Probably won't go back even if it is an amazing place to eat. Went to nearby Yoku Sushi which has amazing Japanese food and though very busy they were super friendly and did everything to accommodate us.

Absolute gem. The staff are incredible and the food was delicious. We had a steak and fish dish and both were cooked to perfection. I'm not usually a desert person but tried the Pistachio ice cream bomb. It was delicious. Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing place! We celebrated my partner's birthday and had great time. We were seated downstairs where we could enjoy the live music. The place felt very romantic and cosy. Pro-tip for Italian restaurant searches: if the menu doesn't have a single grammar mistake and mentions food from a specific region it's very likely to at least be very authentic. It's the case for Rostick and its rich menu offering both good from the Italian tradition and specific dishes from the Abruzzo region. The owner is justifiably proud of the cats with which the dishes are prepared and of the team he created over 7 years at this location. I enjoyed all our dishes, and in particular the sea bass with shellfish.

Lorenzo is a fantastic host, Italian of course. You can taste his love for food. Eastbourne does not have a lot to offer so visit Rostick. And ask him to prepare something off the menu :-) and get the special wine list. We had a wonderful evening.

We were in 3 last night, me, Robert and Carson and we had dinner downstairs where live music is played. Wonderful songs of the 60-70s brilliantly performed by a duo. Great food, great atmosphere, this is the best restaurant in Eastbourne.

Great place, staff and authentic food served with humour and efficiency

Worst dining experience of my life. When we arrived we were told that there was an hour wait on food which I straight away accepted because food looked good, the waiter ( restaurant owner or manager ) took us to a room downstairs. Food took 2 hours to arrive ( we did not complain because we felt bad for the staff , there was a couple next to us that also waited two hours for food ) - lovely waitress downstairs was being shouted at by the manager , who was abusive and spoken to her in a extremely rude and aggressive way in front of everyone. It was a nightmare and a horrible experience- on the other end food was good.

Great place with great food and superb service will be back for sure.

An excellent specialist Italian restaurant on a convenient road (which inevitably means you'll get lots of road noise if you are sitting outside, but it's worth it for the sun!). Knowledgeable and friendly staff, including the owner, an excellent wine selection and a wide choice on the menu. We both chose from Abruzzan specialities and were not disappointed: my had the Spaghetti allo Scoglio for mains, and I had the Arrosticini (roasted mutton skewers). Highly recommended!

We stumbled across this place and really glad we did. Very hospitable and friendly manager / staff. Pasta was delicious - freshly made and authentic. We didn’t have pizza so can’t comment on that. Would certainly recommend!

Very nice staff, good was good. If I had to say a little thing, too many flavors with the fish, it’s too much going on in the plate. It’s worth in terms of money but ruined the fish experience. Just my opinion, otherwise very good place

We visited Eastbourne during Christmas, most restaurants were closed, so we just walked in here without reservation. The staffs are nice and The food here is delicious, even though we waited our food for a while.

Absolutely fantastic. This is proper Italian dining. We had the best evening here - Lorenzo is a wonderful host and his culinary creations are superb. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and we were very well looked after. We visited on a Saturday night and it was very busy - there was a 25 minute wait between courses, which we were warned about and which was not a problem at all as the food is SO worth waiting for! Definitely recommend the Brodetto di Pescatrice and the Dover Sole. Great wine list too! Also, there is a wonderful little wine bar downstairs, which we went on to after our meal. Staff are really attentive and friendly and I cannot wait to return.

Finally a Good Italian restaurant in Eastbourne, one of the fewest restaurants in town that it is worth to visit. We really enjoyed the REAL handmade Lobster ravioli and Porcini Ravioli, delicious! 👌 The service is also excellent very friendly and attentive. We will be back for sure! Finalmente un Buon ristorante Italiano ad Eastbourne, uno dei pochi in città che vale la pena di visitare. I ravioli sono Handmade (per davvero) noi abbiamo preso Quelli all’aragosta e ai porcini, veramente ottimi! Servizio impeccabile e amichevole. Prezzi ottimi. Ci torneremo di sicuro!
