Rostick in Eastbourne

Amazing food here, possibly the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. Been twice this week it’s that good 😊. Highly recommend a visit.

Wow....please go here if you're in the area The ambiance, the decor, the staff and the food are 'fantastico/fantasica'. I had the meatballs for starters.... delicious. Steak Diana for main and I asked if I could swap chips for veg and it was not at all a problem...equally a s yummy. I don't know how to describe the staff but they are so naturally 'nice' in a cute awkward shy way. You don't feel rushed or intruded upon. They appear at the right time when you need something. Just perfect...thank you ❣️ P.s toilets were very clean....

5-star quality food with a great atmosphere and service! I had the handmade ravioli and pasta, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place! I would definitely love to visit the restaurant again in the future.

We had a meal here on Saturday 7/9/24. Love this restaurant. Have eaten here many times and am constantly amazed at how good the food is. Fantastic owner and waiters, so attentive and caring. Prices are very good, not over the top. Very enjoyable indeed. Mr & Mrs Howard, Eastbourne.

Amazing find. They took us in without a reservation despite being full. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Nice decor. The house wine was incredible. The food was great, lots of seafood, meat and veggie options to choose from. Highly recommend visiting.

We arrived on time to find the table we had booked had not been reserved. Instead we we offered a table "downstairs" via a very steep and dirty outside staircase. We declined this an had a good dinner elsewhere. We will not be using Rostick in the future.

Excellent, when we go to a restaurant on holiday I always check the reviews on Google maps, this time I also checked them and went for dinner because It looked good. I was too late to make a reservation this day and we went over just to see if we were lucky enough to get ourself a table even if it was on the terrace but luckily they had a table for two left. We ordered and had an absolutely delicious dinner. Everything was so good, I really recommend you try this restaurant....but make sure to reserve a table cause it would be a pity if you'd miss out on this.

The best seafood we have had in years! It was wonderful! Scallops to share for starters, sea bass with calamari, mussels, clams, and prawn for main course. Wonderful. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Always go there every year when at the Eastbourne tennis.

This has to be the best restaurant in Eastbourne. Had fabulous Oysters & Scallops, with Dover Sole & one of their speciality dishes for mains followed by a gorgeous ice cream with meringue centre & two shots poured over coffee and a liquor all delicious. We went back following day for lunch we both had pasta dishes, mine was off the menu that the proprietor was happy to accommodate. We had house wine on our 2nd visit that was really good. These guys are working hard to be exceptional and in our opinion went way above what we expected when we were last there under the previous management which we thought at that time was good, now it is even better.

Food is really great here: you can feel there is some excellent (Italian they said) Chef who cares about details, quality and choice of ingredients. I have tried the Pepata di cozze, Insalata di Polipo and the Mutton Skewers (Rostick). All the plates were really perfect. Same for the Service: very attentive and fast. Great atmosphere with old Italian songs. I’ll return here. Great job Rostick!

Unfortunately had to leave the restaurant as they were unable to do anything vegan at all. Hopefully they’ll add something in the future or be more flexible with dietaries and we can come back.

We had a meal this evening at Rostic Italian restaurant on the advice of our hotel. It is under new management and is very much a family restaurant. The restaurant was full so we were pleased to have one of the two outside tables. Service was excellent and the food was very good too, we had Lobster ravioli and lasagne. We would come back if ever in Eastbourne again.

Very good Lemon Sole! Super soft, very fresh, good size, and tasty sides. We had Aperol Spritz and Campari Spritz too, both were well done. My 3-year-old boy ate a whole portion of Bolognese pasta, which we were shocked about. Well cooked too, al dente. It was challenging for the staff as I do not eat desserts, and it was my birthday, so I got a shot and a candle in a wine cork. Good job. I would truly recommend it, and we will be back.

Stumbled across this absolute gem of a restaurant. Food was amazing and portions were generous. Staff were attentive and a good laugh. Stunning restaurant.

Excellent food and service, nice comfortable atmosphere and reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful, it really made the experience great. Limoncello flute dessert was absolutely perfect after a delicious and rich lobster ravioli main course.

It was quite late and we were looking for somewhere to eat. Our attention was attracted by the exquisite design of the restaurant. We were even more pleased with the availability of seafood dishes. Well the presentation of the dish and the flavours were top notch. The seafood was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Very nice food , good wine selection , carbonara was the real thing !, sea food was tasty … only small complaint from me , coffee is Nespresso instead of proper Italian espresso … but definitely a top choice! Will come back for sure !

Ordered form the specials menu. Got the oysters and surf and turf. It was delicious. Couldn't fault it. Reasonably priced too. Staff were very nice. Could do with some background music for more ambience. Will be back again.

Always go to Rostick when we visit my husband’s 95 years young aunt and we’re never disappointed.

The Dover Sole was delicious. I asked for the Dover Sole to be served Meuniere and off the bone, it was perfectly cooked and excellent. Rostick is the only Restaurant I know in Eastbourne to do one of this quality everyone in our group was delighted with the food and service, additionaly they have improved and toned down the lighting which has made a big difference to the ambience. Do checkout this iconic Eastbourne restaurant, you will not be dissapointed.

Went out at 9pm found most local eateries were closed and stumbled across Rostick. The service, quality of food and friendliness of the owners/staff matched the excellent decor and ambiance. We had pasta dishes which were freshly cooked and delicious. Followed by an excellent Crème Brûlée. Cost was very reasonable, a perfect end to a lovely day!!

Visited for a family birthday 🥳 and had a fabulous lunch. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful with real attention to detail on flavours. The father and son team were so welcoming and clearly were passionate and proud of their restaurant. They went out of their way to ensure we all had a great time especially our elderly mother. Fresh seafood and beautiful pasta and salads we will definitely be back. Thank you!

We enjoyed a great evening at Rostick after an afternoon of culture at the theatre. They serve delicious Italian food in large helpings - be warned! My aubergine parmigiana was most tasty - almost as good as my own (!), and my halibut was beautifully cooked and presented, with at tasty sauce and an unusual pickled fennel accompaniment. My wife also enjoyed her scallops starter and Dover Sole main. My only criticism, which others will not share, is of the quantity of food on the plate, with (for me) some unnecessary garnishes. However, the friendliness of the staff more than compensated - huge thanks to Luis and Pedro!! The ambience is most pleasing and thankfully the musak is turned down to a low level. We had a bottle of white wine, digestifs and coffees. Our bill (with voluntary tip) came to £160, which unfortunately is par for the course nowadays. Highly recommended!

Very nice indeed. Decent menu options. The food quality did not disappoint. Eastbourne has several Italian restaurant options and this is one very much worth exploring.

Great find, not the average Italian (UK) menu, good to see some more authentic dishes in starters, mains and desserts. We'll cooked, nicely presented and delicious food. Service was excellent, not pushy, but attentive when required even on a busy Saturday. We will return as many different dishes to sample!

Fabulous meal on a busy Saturday night! We shared a starter (scallops), the restaurants speciality mutton skewers & finished with crème brûlée and limoncello sundae. Every mouthful was delicious; the service was perfect - attentive but not too much, especially as the place was completely full - glad I booked ahead. Beautifully decorated & great atmosphere. We’re not local sadly as we’d go here all the time but we will book in next time we’re in Eastbourne!

Went for an early Valentine's dinner after looking at lots of rave reviews, specially for lobster, as only about 2 places in Eastbourne even offer a lobster. Orderded 2 things and a couple of cocktails. Cocktails were decent, staff was very friendly and gave great service. The food however was just terrible, especially for the price?! Astice in Terracotta (lobster and other seafood in a tomato base + pasta served in terracotta. For 70 quid. All of the seafood tasted like it had either gone bad or was on the verge. Textures were terrible, chewy and dry. The tomato base lacked depth or flavour. The pasta was thick and a struggle to get through, albeit cooked al-dente. What a waste of money. Rosticks - which is what the restaurant is named after. In theory could have been great. Thin slices of meat cooked on wooden skewers. The meat was poorly seasoned and very poorly prepared. Tasted like death. The spicy red sauce they serve with this was so good though that it made the meat palatable. My personal recommendation would be to take your money elsewhere. The excellent service is the only reason why I haven't given a 1 star rating.

Really great food. Definitely the best I had in Eastbourne. Disappointed by the desserts. Everything is very classy and top quality until they give you a laminated menu with photos that you see kids get at beach cafes with 7 choices that aren’t homemade at £8….and 3 homemade desserts at £7. The owners son served me and was very professional. But when I was giving feedback about desserts to him which he was interested in his mother came over and was quite rude……something I’ve started to expect in Eastbourne! Also heard her berating staff for unpolished glasses while eating. Not what you want to hear! Will be a top quality venue when the owners take happy retirement and hand over to their son!

Having visited and eaten many times in Italy, I rarely go to Italian restaurants in this country as they are usually very inferior and can't hold a candle to the Italian ones. But here is an honourable exception. A truly great eating experience. Excellent food, drink and quietly informative staff. A really great find. Well done.

A group of us went for Christmas Day. Fabulous food with loads of choice, ranging from the usual daily menu to a high-end Christmas Special. And the service was first-class. Only one photo - of my scallop starter!

My first time here. Sunday night in November. Very quiet. The food was fabulous. Mussels were plump, tasty, with just the right amount of tomato, garlic and onion. Spaghetti bologna was great, just a little al dente. New owners, apparently, but very good. Wine was reasonably priced. Friendly staff, attentive but not overbearing. I hope to be back.

We had a dinner reservation and as soon as we walked in we’ve been welcomed with a big smile from both the manager and the (new) owner. We were a little undecided about which wine to ordered and when the owner came to take our order he suggested us a nice one to have with our meal, which we really liked. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was so nice and relaxed that we didn’t want to leave. We were offered a liqueur at the end of the meal but not wanting any more alcohol we declined, and we were offered one without alcohol, and we really appreciate it. Looking forward to many more dinners with you, we wish the new owners all the best.

We went to Rostick as it was only a few minutes walk from the Premiere Inn where we were staying and the weather was absolutely dreadful - the aftermath of Storm Ciarán. What an excellent choice it turned out to be. The food was imaginative and excellent and the service matched it, the staff being very helpful and informative. We were only in Eastbourne for the weekend, but it will definitely be a restaurant we will come back to next time we visit.

This is a really lovely Italian restaurant. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and nothing is to much trouble We had some wonderful oysters with all the trimmings followed by mussels in a gorgeous red sauce . We both had the Dover Sole which had a beautiful light wine and lemon sauce with a nice side of perfectly cooked veg and potato . A perfect dinner as far as we were concerned . They have also opened a very nice wine/oyster bar downstairs... a great place to have pre or after dinner drinks in the town .

Visited Rostik last month, to begin with was a lovely atmosphere until a huge reservation came in and we got forgotten about. The food was very tasty couldn't fault it but did not warrant the price and don't get me started on the price of drinks or the bitter coffee!! Will not be returning, and don't bother with a sarcastic reply, I already anticipate this!

We had read the trip advisor reviews before visiting and noticed quite a number were complaining about the owner, but we didn't pay too much attention to them as the vast majority of the reviews were positive. We should have payed attention to them. The...

So expensive, the cheapest bottle of house red wine was £33!!!! Absolutely ridiculous and wasn’t even nice!!! As for the food, very over priced and ONE prawn in my very expensive seafood dish!!!! My friends said the same, really wasn’t worth the money, and food...

Went here on a Monday evening. Quiet ? No. Plenty of tables reserved and several eating before 7. That's a good sign. Quaint small Italian Restaurant. Small menu, but very very good food. We all agreed that this is a step up from most Italian...

Service is impeccable. Greeted like old friends. Very attentive. Food was delicious. Only got photos of starters as mains were so good couldn't resist tucking in before thinking of photos ! A good variety of food to choose from, including a specials menu. Excellent value for money, would have paid more as food is freshly made. Would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant.

Rude treatment on Saturday evening by an unfriendly Italian who did not want to accommodate us and immediately said tables are booked without even speaking to us whilst he was showing others in and offer them a table. Probably won't go back even if it is an amazing place to eat. Went to nearby Yoku Sushi which has amazing Japanese food and though very busy they were super friendly and did everything to accommodate us.

Absolute gem. The staff are incredible and the food was delicious. We had a steak and fish dish and both were cooked to perfection. I'm not usually a desert person but tried the Pistachio ice cream bomb. It was delicious. Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing place! We celebrated my partner's birthday and had great time. We were seated downstairs where we could enjoy the live music. The place felt very romantic and cosy. Pro-tip for Italian restaurant searches: if the menu doesn't have a single grammar mistake and mentions food from a specific region it's very likely to at least be very authentic. It's the case for Rostick and its rich menu offering both good from the Italian tradition and specific dishes from the Abruzzo region. The owner is justifiably proud of the cats with which the dishes are prepared and of the team he created over 7 years at this location. I enjoyed all our dishes, and in particular the sea bass with shellfish.

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant! The fresh pasta with seafood is simply to die for!!! Staff very friendly and passionate about what they do! If you want to eat real, genuine, delicious Italian, this is the place for you! It took me back to my country...
