Pomodoro e Mozzarella in Eastbourne

This place is AMAZING! We were hesitant with going into this place because it seemed very fancy and expensive but once we finally got inside we found out this wasn't the case. The place is still very fancy but very affordable I had the Three course set meal with vegetable soup, Carbonara and Tiramisu and my son got the children's menu with Cola, Margarita Pizza and Pancakes. All the food was great it filled both of us thoroughly yet we were still wanting more of the authentic sensation. Staff was kind and paintings very historical. Anyways 5 stars on everything would definitely come here again 😁.

Don’t expect a Neapolitan pizza. Not memorable but decent ingredients. The service was a bit sloppy, forgetting about you and also rushing around without really seeing you as a customer. Tables very close to each others. Overall decent but nothing special.

The minestrone soup was one of those most disgusting things I've had in a restaurant. Salty, gloupy, and definitely not fresh. The pizza base was perfectly cooked, but the toppings were greasy and too much cheese. A nice atmosphere

This restaurant was recommended by our B&B as having delicious Italian food with impeccable service and they were not wrong. We were well looked after by the friendly staff and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. There was also an offer of a set price menu for either 2 or 3 courses which made the meals extremely good value for money. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a delightful evening in a friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed our set menu meal which was reasonably priced. Overall a lovely experience including an 89 year old lady who was sitting next to us with a great sense of humour and zest for life.

Busy Italian restaurant, great service and wide selection of dishes.

I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Italian food. Being an Italian that moved to the UK 9 years ago, I have to say it is difficult to find Italian food that actually tastes like real Italian food. But this place is one of the few restaurants where I felt like I was at home. Everything in this restaurant, from the quality of food, to the kindness of the staff, to the way the tables are arranged, made me feel like I was in Italy. And not in any restaurant in Italy, but in a very good one! Thank you very much for a great dinner. I'll definitely be back when travelling to Eastbourne.

The food was served piping hot and incredibly fresh—absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the lobster ravioli. it was rich and full of flavor. The mussels were also a standout—perfectly cooked and bursting with taste. The staff were warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. A great dining experience all around!

This is my fifteenth trip to the UK. This restaurant is the best find in the country.

The restaurant and staff are immaculate as you walk in, the tables have material napkins, the service is swift but friendly. Menu has lots of options but we decided on a 2 course set menu for circa £16, Prawn cocktail followed by Pollo Milanese, portions were very good and quality was top end. This place is a must try and don’t be fooled by the amazing value for money, you’ll leave sated and happy.

Super delicious Italian restaurant! First time in Eastbourne It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten at an authentic European restaurant~ We ordered a three-course meal (appetizer, main course, dessert) This set is £17.95 I think it’s a great deal! The portion is very large~ I had a very happy meal🥰🥰🥰 If I have a chance to come to the UK again, I would like to eat here again❤️ Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

We have been here twice now, it is simply excellent. The food is outstanding, a slight wait when it is busy (and it gets very busy!) but it is totally worth it. Definitely phone and book a table ahead of time. Starters £3-12, Mains & Pastas £12-24, plus drinks, so expect around £35-40 per person (+ dessert + tip). They also have a HUGE set menu which is budget-friendlier. The first time we visited, unbeknownst to us the items we ordered were actually almost exclusively from the set menu, which to our surprise on the bill they dropped the price down to! Knocked about a fifth off the price we were expecting. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. 5⭐ Smart-casual dress code. Good amount of parking less than a minute away, which is also free after 6pm.

Visiting Eastbourne for a few days and went to this restaurant as it was within walking distance and had some great reviews. We were not disappointed. The staff were great and very friendly and the food was excellent. There is a lovely buzz to the place and the speed of service was very good. Will definitely try and go there again. You will not be disappointed.

I love it when I get the chance to rave about a place. It doesn’t happen often! My wife and I turned up on the doorstep of this restaurant at 5:30pm as the doors were being opened. The menu looked good and they had made the doorway accessible for wheelchairs. As we were greeted so warmly we thought we would chance it and go in. Being first in gave us a choice of tables in the large dining area. We tucked into a corner and within 20 minutes the place was full. This place clearly has a good reputation locally. Choosing from the special all week set menu which they allowed us to tweak. I had grilled sardines in a garlic sauce, a huge handmade pizza then desert. Service was superb as was the food. I would go further and say best Italian meal I have ever eaten (and I have traveled through Italy!). Price point was spot on and it had accessible toilets too! Definitely coming back.

We had a great meal here! Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I had sea bream fillets with garlic, ginger and chilli which was absolutely delicious! Good value too. Would definitely recommend and we'll go back again when we're in Eastbourne.

Popped in at lunchtime with my 10yr old, felt so welcome and great value. We are local to the area and only due to walking past saw they were open midweek for lunch. Will be returning soon.

Fantastic place to go for food! Its Italian nature makes it so nice! I ordered a carbonara and I got full in a few bites! Lucky they let us take it home! Definitely going here again!

I was tempted by the set menu price which seemed to represent very good value. The restaurant on a Thursday evening was very busy and now I know why. The starter of prawn salad was attractively presented, was a generous portion and very tasty. For main I had sea bass in a tomato and olive sauce on a bed of crushed new potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and the dish served very hot. The only other thing I ordered was a mint tea, but even that was excellent being made from the fresh herb in a teapot. The service was completely faultless. Everyone I encountered was friendly and attentive. As a solo diner catching a train I was really pleased to be served with no delays. My main arrived only minutes after my starter was cleaned away. Astonishing with such a busy restaurant and a couple of birthdays. As I live near Brighton, Eastbourne seems a relatively sleepy place in the evening, but this restaurant had a vibrant atmosphere.

We were in Eastbourne for the weekend. Found this gem on Saturday night. The lasagne was so good we went back on Sunday. Amazing value for money, warm family-friendly atmosphere, fantastic food and great service. We loved chatting to Lorenzo.

Never seen the amount of staff. Still totally out of focus. Food ok. Polite but it was än 92 yesrs old lady next to me, her friends was at their other restaurant next door, but they have the same kitchen. Her glass of vine she had to pay begore she left. I told the staff, cone on take the vine thru the kitchen into her friends. Instead he walked it outside to the sister restaurant. I payed and never got my money back. I waited 20 min looking at them they just looked stressed then I said I want to leave do something! Then they told me 60p is missing!? I said why dont you say that then!! Their reply was we dident know what to say.... .. .!? Never seen the amount of untrained staff it was like Faulty Towers x2

A restaurant that has (clean) linen tablecloths, fresh linen napkins with friendly staff is hard to find. The Pomodero combines the above with excellent authentic Italian cuisine, all very reasonably priced. The convivial atmosphere ensures a most enjoyable meal time. We have visited many times and have never been disappointed nor had reason to complain. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. A special treat is the Sea Bass with garlic and ginger - a dish worthy of the best restaurants in London.

We whent Friday afternoon without booking and we realized that they close at 2:30 for a short break.But they let us in and they say they will still open without any issue. I was so pleased and thankful to all the staff because it was my wife special day. So all 5 of us been very please with the food and all the staff that was so friendly. So upset with our food. We use to love pomodorro but we collected our two calzones today and one had the base of the pizza missing and it had stuck to the box and the other had massive chunks of fat in from the ham. Absolutely disgusting and so upset

Don’t really understand how they got this high scores here. First of the shrimp salad taste very fishy and not fresh at all. There’s even some poop on them that they didn’t clean properly. The “homemade Gelato” taste super artificial and much worse than the ones you get from supermarkets. Funny thing is the table next to us says the same thing and we had a brief conversation on how the food is pretty bad here. Carbonara is very soft and blunt-tasteless. Service is bad too and everyone seems like they don’t want to serve you. Do yourself a favour and never come here please.

Been many times and we know what we are getting when we book to go here. The food is consistently pleasing each time we come. The zucchini is tasty . Restaurant is in walking distance of theatres and a flat walk too! Gluten free menu is also provided and the gluten free pasta ( usually spaghetti) is good. Worth booking if you are a larger group. Enjoyable.

Great food, good service, reasonable prices. Family friendly - when we had Limoncella at the end they made up a non alcoholic one for my 8 year old so they could join in. Highly recommended.

I recently dined at Pomodoro e Mozzarella and was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptional, with generous portions that satisfied even the heartiest appetite. The fried fish was a light and crisp highlight, with no trace of greasiness. The dishes I tried were authentic Italian recipes, expertly prepared and bursting with flavour. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. While the restaurant can get a bit noisy at times, the downstairs tables offer a quieter dining experience. Overall, I had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend Pomodoro e Mozzarella. A big thank you to the entire team for their excellent service and delicious food!

Really excellent pizza and pasta. Very busy and popular restaurant - probably this reason. Very good vegetarian selection also and set menu(s).

Service was slow at first, we waited some time to get a first drink. The table service was poor, sauce was spilled on my lap with no apology or even, probably, awareness. Our server did not seem to know which was steak and which was veal! We were hurried and pressed several times about deserts, when one person's main course was still being eaten. We were asking to be given more time before ordering deserts but our requests were ignored. My warm beer glass was taken away when I wanted to retain it. The server insisted I have a clean cold glass I did not want and which was not suitable for an English ale. Once the bill had been paid we were left in peace to finish our deserts, which was a relief! We enjoyed the meal, the food quality was excellent!

I had the prawn salad as a starter and spagetti mariana as a mains. Both nice. My friend had bruschetta as a starter and salmon tagliatelle as a main which again h e liked. He was not a fan of the house wine. I asked for a sparkling water and was given a 750 ml bottle which i asked to be changed for a 500 ml bottle. I was charged for the 750 ml bottle when the bill came. Paid as did not want to cause a fuss as the place was very busy and noisy. One wonders if this is deliberate ? So for me it was Food 5/5 Service 0/5 Value 2/5 Atmosphere 2/5 TOTAL 9/20

We returned to Eastbourne for a 3rd time. We have walked passed Pomodoro e Mozzarella several times before. So, we thought, let's give it a go! The food was...ok. Very average Italian food. What was really disappointing was just how rude the staff were. We ordered and we felt like we were an inconvenience. My partner, who is actually Italian even tried speaking to the waiter in Italian to be polite, the waiter didn't even smile nor acknowledged the effort. It's ok for a simple pizza, or a bowl of pasta. But just on the service...disappointing

The place is big and loud and you can't hear yourself speak. Waiters were rushing around like headless chickens...perhaps we came at the wrong time I.e school half term. We were waiting 45mins for our mains. Not great at all! No genuine Italian flare in this place. Most waiters were student like and tbh rather inexperienced. Only plus point are the portion sizes. Flavours were lacking and our dessert tasted old. Homemade Gelato is mediocre. All 6 of us walked out underwhelmed. :-(

This is a lovely restaurant. I came with a group of 11 friends and it was a lot of fun and the pizza was delicious. We all loved it. I have never eaten or seen a pizza with boiled eggs on it before. It was quite unique and delicious.

What a popular local restaurant this is! I went for an early 6pm supper with a good friend, and found it already almost filled with a cross-section of swinging Eastbourne: schoolboys with doting grandparents; lovers with chaperoning grandparents; and grandparent quartets. My friend had scallops, pasta and a good number of negronis, and was distinctly more relaxed by the end of the meal. I ate mushrooms drowned in garlic and a very filling pizza. Prices are utterly reasonable, service is brisk and mostly with a smile, and if a you are seeking somewhere to eat, drink and be merry you could do far worse.

Birthday celebration for a special couple & family. Order for drinks was taken 25 minutes after we arrived & food order 15 minutes later. Those with pizza experienced meagre fillings & immoderate dressings - my chicken & mozzarella was limp & tasteless. Desserts’ orders were taken after another 40 minutes. We all passed on coffees as by that stage, approaching 3+ hours it palled. A bill of around £400 was average

Went here whilst on holiday and there was a queue outside. Once we got to the door we were seated. The restaurant was busy. Our food arrived quickly. The food was good. Going back next year. Grazie mille.

All I can say about Pomodoro e Mozzarella is that the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The service is charming. And the food is amazing. I love pasta and risotto, and being equally passionate about seafood, Pomodoro e Mozzarella surprised me and provided me with a great experience. By the way, one of the best risottos I have ever had (light, fluffy, creamy). I highly recommend it. Overall, my dinner was very enjoyable. Looking forward to the next visit.
