Always amazing food here Never disappoints and the lovely Jez and Jo are always warm and hospitable Signature scrambled eggs this morning with pancetta and tomatoes The home made cakes are to die for too

I just grabbed a couple of take away coffees and they were delish. Atmosphere and service were lovely. Will definitely be back to try the food.

We called in for a coffee as we were passing and we received a friendly welcome and were shown to a table immediately. The food options looked so good that we also had poached eggs on toast (cooked perfectly) and fruit bread and raspberry jam. Excellent service. Lovely food. Spotlessly clean toilet downstairs. Would definitely return and highly recommended.

For my wifes birthday we chose Olive Tree, so glad we did, everything about this place is worthy of 5 stars, staff were welcoming and friendly, obviously passionate about their business, the food was beautiful, they use quality ingredients and most of all, the coffee and cake are amazing! Highly recommend, best coffee shop in Eastbourne! Will drop in again soon. Thanks for an enjoyable visit.

What a superb experience this was for breakfast (for mum) coffee and cake (for me and dad). So friendly and super helpful with mum in her power chair! We’ll be back for sure!

Coffee and food were both excellent. Something a little different to your usual cafe. Prices are reasonable considering the high quality ingredients. Both the owners were very welcoming and provided good service. Dog friendly in the front part of the restaurant. Well worth a stop.

As I am new to the area I was in search of a good breakfast/brunch cafe coffee shop and I definitely found my new favourite, a nice friendly greeting as you walk in, interesting varied menu, I had poached eggs on smashed avocado with pancetta, cherry tomatoes that were like little flavour bombs with an addition of roasted peppers, with a beautiful pot of Earl grey to sip and enjoy the decor, the owner brought my order over the food looked amazing and very well presented, we had a friendly chat me saying it’s nice to be cooked for, for a change being a chef, cleaned my plate it was so good and very rarely do I do that, everyone in Eastbourne should frequent this fine establishment for a simple coffee or lovely brunch you will not be disappointed P.S the lemon drizzle cake is second to none bought a slice on my way out, full of citrus scents and delicious lemony flavour

Just wow! I chose the avocado on toast with poached egg. The food was heavenly and the staff were brilliant. I’ve found my culinary happy place 😊

Tried this place for the first time and whilst small inside, the food ordered was very good and the owners personable and efficient. For the prices charged, thought the helpings were on the smaller side, especially for the additional extras for the breakfast. However, well presented and tasted good. Well worth trying.

The food is wonderful, the people who run it great at service and the decor is lovely. It's one of those places which you could and should lose an entire afternoon in. It's a great place to bring your other half on a date.

As soon as we got into the cafe, the owner greeted us with a bright smile. Also, both our food and the atmosphere of the cafe were perfect. I want to visit again next time:D

A small bistro type coffee shop come cafe is located off the busy grove road in Eastbourne. Parking is limited so be prepared to have to part at the end of the road and walk down. A friendly welcome was given and a choice of both breakfast and lunch menus provided. I opted for scrabbled egg on toast with pancetta. Food arrived quickly and freshly cooked. Prices were average and a good sized tea pot was provided for my hot drink of choice. The business was busy and the tables are limited so i suspect gets filled up quickly. Staff were very chatty and friendly and I can’t fault anything. A nice place to stop for a cuppa and light bites. A well deserved 5 stars

Attractive and pleasant cafe serving freshly cooked and very tasty food. Owners are very welcoming and friendly, they obviously enjoy the hospitality business. Will definitely visit again.

Eaten lunch here a few time and always been good. Breakfast today for the first time- scrambled egg perfectly cooked (not microwaved like most places). Lovely bread and beautifully seasoned grilled tomatoes. These small touches make it the best cafe for breakfast in Eastbourne. Coffee is great too.

Not enough space for proper review. Needless to say, Very rarely do you receive what is on the menu now days. Great food well prepared and presented by unpretentious owner/ chefette and husband. Many thanks from a former chef. Good luck going forward. Will definitely be returning 🥳

A great place to spend an hour or two. The decor and atmosphere is relaxing, the food is delicious and the owners made us super relaxed. A hidden gem in the town.

This Coffee House is the Best in town

This bijou café has the ambience of a homely lounge with very friendly service from the proprietors. Very good food —all homemade . Great stop off to revive yourself before shopping or just chilling out!!

Had a lovely lunch there today. So glad they made it through Covid lockdowns as we missed our regular visits. The food and cakes are freshly home made and delicious. Highly recommend this little gem of a café. We'll be back very soon.

Had a lovely brunch with my wife and 2 year old son. We had poached eggs and avocado which were awesome. Lovely setting and nice space at the back with very comfortable sofa. Very reasonably priced and service was exemplary. Would definitely go back!

Friendly, relaxing and family run local business, which are all positives! Had the Brie, Cranberry & Pancetta Ciabatta and it was absolutely delicious. Followed up by a slice of freshly made Coffee Cake, which was also fantastic. Thoroughly recommended 👍

Myself and my wife( and our children who are more than made welcome) have been visiting the olive tree on and off for several years and it never fails us, the food is superb and the coffee to match!The Olive tree has the heart and soul of the owners running through it and is always a warm and welcoming home from home. This is a place to unplug from the outside world and you can happily get lost in time there.If trip advisor allowed more stars in the rating then they would absolutely deserve them.

We found this bistro yesterday and were enchanted. Very comfortable, relaxing environment and friendly staff. I had the soup, Italian Vegetable, utterly superb. My wife had poached eggs on avocado toast.these were followed by good coffee and a lovely piece of cake An altogether splendid light lunch.

First visit today and was really impressed, great service, lovely, friendly staff and tasty food. Spoilt for choice with the menu, took ages to decide! Pleasant surroundings, stylish but not overpowering. Will definitely return.

Well, we went here by mistake, I planned to go to another place in Grove Road, and went here because I thought I had found it, and went in. So glad I did! They had a snug and happy little eating area with excellent service and food. There was nothing on the menu over £8. Astonishing in this day and age!

Our food was slow, then one dish was very under-cooked, one over-cooked, the third dish was bland and inedible. We don't complain about food, and wouldn't have mentioned it, but a staff member asked if our food was ok, and we gave a genteel appraisal of one lunch not being as expected. This was followed by a Basil Faulty-like performance of how wonderful the food was. It cost £27 for three inedible lunches, and we were exposed to an upsetting performance by the staff member.

Went in quite late for lunch and were warmly greeted, told we could sit anywhere and that all the food on the menu is available all day so we could have anything we wanted.The menus were given to us and we were told what the soup of the day was.There's a really good choice of things for lunch and also drinks.We ordered a sparkling elderflower and a blood orange sparkling drink which came very quickly. Hubby was very hungry so ordered a slice of banana cake to eat whilst he waited for his lunch to arrive! He really liked it - the photo with some of the cake gone is this one, he was too quick for me!Our lunches arrived after 25 minutes - they both looked very appetising.I had the chicken, pancetta, avocado and mixed leaves salad with honey and mustard dressing. It was nom nom yummy tasty good!! Everything was delicious, excellent quality and I loved how the pancetta was crispy and there were also some little crispy croutons. The dressing was lovely too.Hubby had the smashed acocado on sourdough toast - 2 of these, with poached eggs on top (the yolks were firm and not soft), with rocket and tomatoes and a slice of streaky bacon across the top. He really enjoyed this. He also had a milkshake which he loved too!Next we went to look at the cakes to choose one for dessert and we were told what each one was - all homemade and all looked lovely. Hubby had the coffee cake with two layers of buttercream! He said it was really good.I went for the scone with jam and clotted cream and I was given the choice of strawberry or raspberry jam. The scone was perfect and came warm, jam was tasty and the cream was perfect too. I forgot to take a photo of this!I also had a latte coffee to go with it and I loved that I was asked how I liked my coffee and I said milky, not too strong and it was really good. I'd forgotten my sweeteners and asked if they had any as there was white and brown sugar sachets on the table and got two brought to me, perfect!I've included photos of the menu so you can see how reasonably priced everything is here.The toilets are downstairs and the lovely lady took me down to show me the way as I'd not been there before. It was immaculately clean.Nothing is too much trouble here - the lady really went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us, customer service is so important here which made the whole experience an absolute pleasure.We would highly recommend everyone to go here, it's worth making a special trip as the food is fabulous and the service top notch.We will definitely be returning - the sooner the better!

Lovely couple and beautiful coffee shop. The food is amazing and made with love. She finds out what you can or can not have a cooks food to suit you. Don't know another place who do that. Must go check this place out xx

We passed slowly and thought this looks nice. Very confy chairs as was a nice bonus. Then it was hard the menu was not massive BUT everything looked amazing and it really was! I had toast with avocado, poached eggs and pancetta. The service was excellent as well. Wooow what a hit! Will be back and try the rest -Smile- that's for sure :-) See you soon!!

Visited here before registering a death in the family at the nearby tTwnhall, the staff were amazing and most welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble, my mum has a throat issue and can only eat certain foods, the chef came up personally and asked if there was anything she could cook specifically and offered lots of suggestions, honestly couldn't ask for better service, the rose water sponge cake was delicious, the banana loaf is to die for (excuse the insensitive joke) and the toasted ciabattas - filled with just the right amount of each fillings - stunning, will make a beeline for this place, next time im in Eastbourne - thank you - you made our day a little brighter

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The homemade cakes and scones are highly recommended. My husband and I were there a couple of weeks ago and the Coffee Cake and Cheese Scone were the best we have ever had (and we eat a lot of cake!). I would also recommend the Chai Latte. Can't wait to go back there again.

This is a truly lovely place. Near the town. They offer a variety of food for breakfast and lunch. I find the food very fresh and tasty. Their coffee is great as well. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely ambience with pleasant background music. Very noticeable welcome by the owner as we stepped through the door. Food and drinks prepared to really high standard with attention paid to detail. Felt like I was having coffee at The Ritz in London. Can't wait to go back and try the home made cake. My mum would love it as they serve authentic Italian coffee. Tastes as it should.

Went here for lunch with family. Really nice atmosphere inside with friendly staff. We were recommended to try a local cola with less sugar than regular, which was a nice touch. In general, the food was tasty, good variety on the menu. I would say that the menus did look a bit tatty, they only had two for our table, but overall we were impressed with our lunch at the Olive Tree.

You are always made to feel welcome at the Olive Tree, the owners seem to know so many people by their first name and welcome them like old friends. The coffee is smooth and delicious. (Not bitter) and the chocolate brownie is a guilty pleasure you must try. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Been meaning to get here for a while to try the scrambled eggs everyone raves about and I was not disappointed. They were so tasty! I could eat them everyday. Along with the lovely food, the owners are such inviting and friendly people :) definitely worth a visit. I'll be back!

We actually wanted a coffee with something sweet, but it was so busy that they actually ran out of all their home made cakes and sweets. The cappuccino was very nice and came with biscotti. The lunch menu looked very promising. Get there early as the place has limited seating.

Called in to the Olive Tree today for take away coffee and brownie (it looked too good to ignore) took the brownie to my daughters and reluctantly shared with her and her mother in law...well, there were lots of ooos and arrrrs and not a man in sight! Jo, you make a mean Brownie. ..it was a little slice of heaven x

It's rare to find a cafe like this, warm friendly staff.. Excellent home cooked food, and the best flat white I have had anywhere hands down.. Can't recommend it enough.

We stumbled upon the Olive Tree having looked for another lunch venue which it turned out had shut. And what a treat. Really excellent home-cooked food. Really good. Genuinely friendly proprietors who seemed to take an authentic interest in all customers and are also passionate about the food they cook and serve. Delightful ambience. Highly recommended. I am not at all surprised this has had 100% five-star ratings so far. Really very good indeed.

In Eastbourne for a wedding at the Town Hall across the road ... dived in here with my family of five ... quite a challenging group, but Joanna and her little café are gorgeous ... I love this place!

I wrote a review a couple of months ago and it disappeared.... or never arrived! This café, or more importantly the owners, definitely deserve more than a mention. They've only been open for just over a year and I'd say it's one of the friendliest cafes in Eastbourne with a lovely ambience, where everyone's made more than welcome.Oh, and the food and coffee are delicious and of a very high standard. The homemade lemon cake is to die for!

One of my absolute favorite places to eat in Eastbourne. The coffee is the best in town and the food never disappoints. The soup is my regular lunch time treat! On top of great food, the service is always absolutely fantastic, the owners are so friendly and always take the time to greet everyone personally and have a little chat. Couldn't rate it any higher, 10 out of 10!

My friend introduced me to The Olive Tree a few weeks ago and I loved it! I've been back several times since and plan to try out the whole menu! Everything I've had there has been truly exceptional; their soup, scrambled eggs and cake are the best in town! The service is also amazing, super friendly and helpful staff add a real personal touch. This is now my favourite restaurant in Eastbourne and I will be telling everyone about it. If you haven't already tried it, you really must! I can't wait to go back again soon!

I have visited this restaurant / cafe regularly since it opened. I have eaten there three times this week for lunch. The food is always great and the service friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is the hidden jem of Eastbourne Town centre, located on Grove Road opposite the town hall. It serves a selection of pasta, paninis, salads, soups, cakes and eggs. Anything you would want for a lunch time meal.The food has always been to a very height standard. The scrambled eggs on sour dough with pancetta is absolutely amazing and I go there every Saturday lunch time to have this. It is honestly the best eggs I have ever had and I love my eggs!!I also have the chicken pesto pepper and mozzarella panini for lunch during the week and this is a really tasty meal. Much more tasty and healthy than the typical panini you get in town at a chain store. Plus cheaper too.Joanna and Jez (the owners) are always lovely and friendly. They have created a great location to enjoy lunch with friends, colleagues or your partner. With soothing sounds and a warm atmosphere.The coffee is particularly good, my favourite being the flat white. Certainly the best coffee in town that I have tasted.I couldn't recommend this cafe highly enough. Particularly Jo's perfect scrambled eggs! I wouldn't drink coffee anywhere else, the taste is amazing. I love their scrambled eggs and my daughter always has a kale smoothie ! (She hates veg) The atmosphere is warm and inviting and your always made to feel welcome it's hard to leave.

The only other place I have felt this much at home and at ease is AT home! Here you can guarantee a clean, friendly and accommodating environment. The café is only small, but, as the saying goes, perfectly formed. All the food is of excellent quality, as are the drinks. I regularly come here with both friends and work colleagues, and we all agree that it is our favourite café of choice in a competitive market in the area. The menu is not huge, but perfectly satisfies my need for something filling yet healthy. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely owners, and I am even having my own gluten and dairy free cake made by Joanna for my own private function.

The Olive Tree is a friendly and happy place to go. Their coffee is my weekly cup of therapy and chit chat to go with it. Tasty food and always fresh. Well worth a visit. I can recommend the scrambled eggs Jo style. It's not your everyday dish so I guarantee you'll like it.
